[Volume 7 Issue 8, #1497]
fing-fing is sulking and throwing tantrum today, because mama forced him to eat something he hates.. dear uncles and aunties, when you were eating while you are still a kid, did your mama keep scolding you for being picky?? you hate broccoli, you hate carrot, you hate vege and yet mama made you eat them all?? but what came worst in your lifetime could be being forced to gulp the cod liver emulsion, not that sweet orange flavor but that original "stinky" flavor!! oh my, now i recall that stinky taste and i almost feel like puking!! no wonder fing-fing is sulking there~~ @_@"

    1. Good morning, Happy!!

      It's such a beautiful Sunday :D

And bad papa and mama to make Fing Fing sulked on this day~ SK, you should bring Fing Fing out on weekend, go to playground or zoo to meet up his friends; and not spoiling his day with Scott Emulsion~

  2. Hi fing-fing, no wonder you are sulking! Strange that some kids don't mind the fishy after-taste.

    1. That "some kids" is probably only 5%. Most kids dislike the fishy smell. I disliked it when my mother forced me to eat it.

I practically have to freeze my two main senses - smell and taste; and gulped it down my throat. Then I drank a large glass of water to clear the fishy taste.... which is not very effective because the taste would stay for another hour.

    2. Same here. I hate the after taste. maybe phobia till now. I hate eating seaweed

      Delete
    3. I love seaweed!! You need to ask Kaldip to wrap you in seaweed! Ask SP how he make sushi.

    4. I love seaweed too. Any kind. Smelly or not. They are super yummy!

Everyone is early today?? No tucking under warm armpits and ahem ahem??

Eh, SP is missing. I guess he's the only one still snoring and waiting for Fui Fui to prepare the breakfast on the bed.

Or maybe he's sulking too, because his mama is here and feeding him with fish liver oil?? Must build strong body after 7 times of ahem ahem ahem per night~

  5. Scott Liver Emulsion the putih type. Oh gawd! I remember I used to go hide to avoid eating those when I was small. Hate the taste and the smell too! @.@

Now my son so lucky, get to eat and enjoy the orange flavoured one.

    2. I was so damn sickly that doctor bodoh asked my mum to feed me the same cod liver oil. Eeeewwww! It tasted like rotten ahem ahem.

      Delete
    3. I think you can feed your kids the capsule type of cod liver oil. Many parents do that too.

      Delete
    4. My Son OK with the orange flavoured one. So no issue lah...

      TM,
You pernah taste rotten ahem ahem kah? Otherwise how you know? kakaka

      Delete
    5. I fed my girl with the white color one. She had one gulp and refused to take the rest. Guess who had finished them???

Not me, but my dad. Kakakaka! I hate this supplement, I remember I used to whine each time I had it. Thus now I'm over 21 years old, I can decide whether to put in into my mouth or no!

I guess my dad was trying to motivate us by leading a good role, as he always says, "Emm, yummy. Would you like to have one good gulp? It's good for you~".

      Delete
    6. TM, I don't understand why all doctors like to suggest Scott Emulsion back then. Almost everyone in my class had Scott Emulsion in their supplementary diet. Not much variety in the 'supplement industry'??

My mother gave me Scott Emulsion, too, many thanks to the doctor we seek when I was sick. Hate him!

      Delete
    7. Maybe some Doctors were more stupid last time la. They were nerd lookings and boring. Nowadays doctors smoke, drink too much and have blogs!!!

  6. Last time I hate veges also, but now of course I force my son to eat all of them.

But now, I can be creative in hiding the veges that son hates in things I cook.

Like, putting grated carrots in omelet and stuff.

But at least there are certain veges that my son likes - broccoli is one of them. ^^ and bayam and bendi too. ;p

    1. I had to bribe my son especially into eating vegetables. I gradually added the number of pieces day by day. Now he likes vegetables very much.

      Delete
    2. I suggest that you make this steamed veggies like Americans do. I only loved eating veggies in the boarding school. They steamed the broccoli, baby carrots, small potatoes, long beans, cauliflower, beans, radish, asparagus and etc together and poured melted cheese over them. So soft and yummy!!! You could also pour thousand island. Say thanks to me.

      Delete
    3. I tak pour thousand island on my veges lah TM. Tekak Asia.

      I pour budu! wakaka

    4. Vege? What's vege? No vege in my diet until I reached 18 years old. I refused to have any greens. Only eat carrot and it's not green on color.

Somehow anything in green scares me away. Of course thing is different now. I eat almost all vegetables - likeable and dis-likeable.

Bitter gourd is bitter, so I try to avoid it. Potato is not my favourite but I still eat it. I love belacan kangkung so I must order it everytime I dine out :D See.... as simple as that~

      Delete
    5. Steam vege also hv to see how steam. if boarding school till mushy then no point. all the vitamin die liai.

I dont mind bitter ggourd.y son hates it. I don't force him eat that la

      Delete
    6. Boiled veggies will loose all vitamins but steamed ones okay la. I stayed in the boarding school that had chefs in top hats serving buffet meals everyday like hotel. I stayed only 3 months and berambus! Too expensive!

    1. Good morning, wenn~

I don't force my kids if they refused the vegetables. Just let them be and when they are ready, they will take it. I just try to intro to them each time I have vegetable dish on the table. Bad mama, huh?

My mother never forced me to take veges. Neither I get rewards nor threatens. I'm adapting the method my mother used on me, and I hope it's effective :)

    2. my son don't like vege too but he will eat la when he got the mood

    1. It's a supplement food. It came in a bottle, but the fishy smell is so strong and I can't stand it. No way I would take a gulp, and I rather take the fish liver oil in tablets. At least no smell :)

  25. Of course I dont like it when I am forced to eat something I hate, but if that food is with high nutrient then I'll somehow swallow it down =)

  26. My two girls did say they didn't like Scott Emulsion, I still forced them down everyday. Because my pediatrician said Scott Emulsion is good to strengthen the lung. Then, there was Chinese Sinseh too, mentioned to me that the best supplement for kids are Scott Emulsion.

    1. I didn't buy the orange flavour one for them, I still buy the original flavour for my kids. Thank Goodness, my girls are quite obedient, so they gulp down the scott emulsion without any problem.

    2. Besides, my girls too do not have issue to eat fruit and vegetable. Though not all types of fruit and vegetable they like, but they do like quite many types of fruit and vegetable. So far, I have no issue to make them eat fruit and vegetable too.

    3. I do not like my girls being a picky eater, I always said to them, "Those food on the table, you either take it or leave it. There is no alternative for you when you hungry later."

Otherwise how daddy and mummy expect fing-fing to grow up healthy and do split pose in Yoga.

  30. It is easy to be a parent. All parents love their kids, want to give the kids the best thing. That's why I also will force my kids to take supplement lik Scott Emulsion, veggie and fruit more. I hope my kids will be grateful to me, and not throw tantrum like fing fing.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Seriously no parent like their kids throwing tantrum. Especially parents who are busy and lack of patient. I am one of those parents. I admit that I spanked, I slapped, I caned, I scolded them harshly and I regretted the minute after I did that. So, to all parents and also to myself, please hold back your anger, walk out and get some time out when kids throwing tantrum. Ignore them if you can, come back after everyone cool down and reason it out. Ignore them don't me give in to kids' tantrum, otherwise the kids may have more tantrum in future.

      Delete
    2. I always feel guilty after caning my girls, so I think spanking is wrong in parenting. I wish to have more patient and be a good role model to my girls. I have to spare the cane and love more from now one. By the way, I love my two girls very very much. They are very good girls so far.
