21.08.2012 | 手洗衣服

[Volume 7 Issue 8, #1513]
my two hands are so tired!! just finished washing my own clothes, it's HAND-washing few clothes to be exact.. because my sister went for her vacation during the long weekend, hence nobody is doing the laundry for me.. actually i can wait for her to come back, but because some of my clothes were worn for workout, they are soaked with sweat and must be washed soonest possible, else they'll get stenchful.. furthermore i can't use the washing machine for just few pieces of clothes, and the biggest problem is, i do not know how to use the machine at all, haha!! this is the consequence of rarely doing house chores and relying on your family on them.. anyway, it's not really the end of the world, i can still handwash them and i heard handwashing your clothes helps to burn more calories~~ :D

    1. Good morning, HS! True, clothes last longer if they are being handwashed. Otherwise, you can see those gathers become loose.

SK must learn how to operate the washing machine too. Actually it's a simple process if he needs to wash his jeans or so.

      Delete
    2. I lazy to handwash. I just dump them in the mesh laundry bag to protect those more delicate ones. hehehe

      Delete
    3. I normally hand wash my own undergarments. Not nice to throw into the machine as sometimes my boy does the laundry.

      Delete
    4. What? You don't know how to operate a washing machine? Seriously? :p

      Delete
    5. But then like SK said, its just a few clothes. kinda waste if electric and water if ma hine wash

usually I would wash clothes alternate day. that is the max num of days to wait before the boy run out if uniform

      Delete
    6. but I still put in my washing machine to wash..
I use the laundry bag.. so far ok to me...
my clothes are not so expensive..

      Delete
    7. Kesien Sk also, leg sprained also have to wash clothes. Should just use the washing machine to wash every 2 or 3 days.

      Delete
    8. Yannie, SK revealed here that his beloved sister is away temporarily and he couldn't operate the machine. Thus he's depending on his bare hand to wash his dirty smelly clothes.

I usually put all the clothes into the washing machine, except for undergarment and some delicate dresses. Those I would handwash them.

If I put my undergarment and get grrrr grrrr grrrrr in the washing machine, their lifespan will be very short and I need to buy new one again.

  3. Your hurt foot is not in the way when you squat down? Foot must be healing well then. :)

    1. I suppose SK stand while washing his clothes? Sometimes I do that too. Easier to stand than squatting down.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, sometimes I just just do them over at the sink. Especially those that don;t really need brushing or vigourous scrubbing or if they are small. :)

      So SK, how's the foot?

      Delete
    3. Is your foot ok to do exercise in the gym? better now?

      Delete
    4. How to scrub those stinky work out clothes if standing? If intimate wear then can do over the sinky lah.

this must mean his foot is better already.

Kira nit bad la this SK . at least even if don't know how to use washing machine, he still know how to hand wash them. some men apa also duno. wait till mother, sister or wife to do.

    5. I m not good in hand wash...
Normally I just dump in to the washing machine and grr grrr grrrrrr...
It reminds me do not get those delicate clothes

      Delete
    6. If you all can, buy the laundry balls, very good in washing all kinds of clothes, and smell good after washed.

      Delete
    7. Squat down only la, nothing to do with his sprained foot. SK can use a bangku to support himself in the bathroom, I reckon.

Meow, I agree with your statement. Some guys really are fully depended on their 'female housemate' to do the laundry and house chores..... (my other half is a good example %&*&^#).

At least SK is still ok with his own laundry. He didn't leave them in the basket for days, or worst still, soaked them in the water. I got one housemate previously who always soaked his clothes in a bucket of water.... he soaked it for several days until white maggots started to appear in the water, yucks!! So freaking geli!

  4. Good morning! I used to hand-wash my working clothes as they are mostly thin clothes. But nowadays I don't need to do so much of hand-washing anymore.

    1. If one or two person clothes then can hand wash la. but if big family plus all working, then its hard to expect the wife to hand wash the cloths lor.

but true what is said coz hand washed clothes are more lasting. and we can concentrate scrubbing the most dirty part like neck, arm those places.

  5. I never bother about the labels. Just dump everything into the machine, never mind hand or what, wet or dry...all in!!! Except for those where the colours will fade - new t-shirts especially, the dark colours.

    1. Adei...cannot like that la. later cepat rosak the baju. *shake head*

    2. Yes I also don't bother so much on the label.
Just the most important is the colour...
I don't want my red underwear goes to my shirt... Lol

      Delete
    3. I know some ppl are very particular about the labels. I don't. As long as everything can be mixed and won't result in rainbow colors in the end, I dump all my clothes into washing machine.

I see my neighbours are very good in sorting their laundry. One day, white laundry; another day colorful laundry. I only sort my laundry based on tops and bottoms. I don't wash the black skirts / pants with those t-shirts. Somehow, the fluffy thread from shirts will get to 'stick' on my black bottoms and it makes them looks like, er, furry??

I hated it so much, because Mom would always came by and make sure I did it properly or complain about my washing, it put me off doing laundry now. Lucky hubby does it for us. ^^

Last time, I have a boss, he told me he didn't know how to on the PC. I was so shocked too.

    2. Goodness you, SK, you should have asked your sister to brief on all the house hold appliance, before she went for holiday. Otherwise, she sure worried of you when she was in her holiday.

    1. If we seldom touch or operate something, we tend to scare when we need to use it. For eg. before I start baking, I envy people who can bake and operate the oven. I was so scared to operate oven and attempt a cake. I also don't know where I suddenly want to challenge my weak point. I decide to conquer my weak point by starting baking. Now, i think I can use my oven quite good already.
