真係眨眼都冇咁快, 2015年已經嚟到最後一日喇!! 每年年尾, 我都會循例為呢個blog做個總結嘅.. 就係由每一個月中, 揀一篇比較「有感覺」嘅貼(當中或有芝麻綠豆之事), 砌成呢個結論篇, 分上集同下集兩篇陸續出街.. 好喇, 廢話少講, 睇下大家對我精心挑選出嚟嘅貼, 是否尚有印象?? 哈哈.. 今日係2015年最後一日發貼, 在此祝各位讀者新年快樂, 我哋2016年再見!! :)

it felt like time passed even more swiftly than winking my eyes, it's already the very last day of year 2015!! end of every year, i will do a summary for my blog by picking one most "have-the-feel" post from each month (could also contain trivial stuffs), and then consolidate them into this concluding post split into part one and part two published on two different days.. well, i better not type more but indeed let's see how much you can still remember about the following posts i have hand-picked?? hahaha.. this post is the last one for year 2015, before i sign off, wishing all my readers a HAPPY NEW YEAR, we shall meet again in 2016!! :)

真係眨眼都冇咁快, 2015年已經係淨低最後幾日喇!! 每年年尾, 我都會循例為呢個blog做個總結嘅.. 就係由每一個月中, 揀一篇比較「有感覺」嘅貼(當中或有芝麻綠豆之事), 砌成呢個結論篇, 分上集同下集兩篇於今日同後日出街.. 好喇, 廢話少講, 睇下大家對我精心挑選出嚟嘅貼, 是否尚有印象?? 哈哈.. 後日再返嚟继續下半年啦~~ :)

it felt like time passed even more swiftly than winking my eyes, year 2015 is going to be in history real soon now!! end of every year, i will do a summary for my blog by picking one most "have-the-feel" post from each month (could also contain trivial stuffs), and then consolidate them into this concluding post split into part one for today and part two for the day after tomorrow.. well, i better not type more but indeed let's see how much you can still remember about the following posts i have hand-picked?? hahaha.. do come back again the day after tomorrow to continue with the second half of the year.. :)

(Remembering) Telephone Numbers

我唔肯定依家係唔係仲有人用緊手寫電話簿, 但我可以確定我哋都曾經擁有過如上圖嗰啲可以擺入銀包嘅迷你電話簿.. 兩片有磁石嘅面, 中間係一張好長但折得好企理嘅紙, 紙上印有數百行任你寫低親朋好友嘅電話號碼.. 係, 你完全記得!! 哈哈.. 老實講, 仲用緊呢本嘢(真係我仲收到依家嘅實物呀!!)嘅時候, 都係為咗一紙紀錄啫, 因為我都記得晒當中好多嘅電話號碼, 完全都唔駛打開本嘢嚟睇㗎.. 家陣當然就唔同啦, 可能係年紀及科技發達嘅原因, 邊有需要, 或者更正確嚟講係邊有能力, 去記埋啲電話號碼?? 有邊位個腦中可以記得超過五個電話號碼嘅, 請舉手!! 呵呵.. 你話喇, 直接喺個屏幕上面㩒一㩒, 又或者用聲控噏咗個名就可以打電話, 幾易!! 以往經常都會喺Facelook見到類似「唔見咗個手機, 請發短訊讓我重獲你的號碼」嘅訊息, 但係呢啲都逐漸被淘汰啦, 因為依家全部都存晒入雲端啦.. 其實咁樣係幫緊我哋, 定還是害緊我哋呢?? 正如冇咗自己部電話, 要你用其他電話打俾朋友, 應該都有點難度呀呵?? 哈哈..

while i am uncertain if anyone is still using a handwritten phonebook now, i am very sure we all did have this type of mini phonebook we put in our wallet like the one in the picture above.. two magnetic covers holding a folded long piece of paper with hundreds of two-column rows for you to write down the numbers of your friends and relatives.. yes, you remember that!! haha.. frankly, during that time i was using this phonebook (yes, this was what i had and i am still keeping it!!), it was merely for record because i could remember the numbers of many in the list in my mind, i didn't even need to refer to the phonebook at all.. of course now, probably due to age as well as the convenience of technology, i don't bother, or to be precise, am unable, to even remember any numbers in my mind.. hands up if you can remember 5 numbers in your mind!! haha.. agree or not, it is so easy to just tap on the screen the person in your call list or phonebook, or even use voice control by just saying the name.. we used to always see messages on Facelook like "lost my phone, please message me so that i get your number again", but even this is already obsolete since everything is backed-up to the cloud now.. is this actually helping us, or is it not?? when we do not have our phones with us, it seems we may have difficulties making calls from another phone huh?? haha..

各位叔伯兄弟, 姨媽姑姐们.. 大家仲記唔記得呢啲印滿細細隻數目字嘅表呀?? 想當年要拎把尺一行一行對準, 金睛火眼先睇得清楚嘅一堆數字.. 其實我想講, 時隔多年, 我好似都冇乜記得點樣去用呢啲數目表喇嘛, 哈哈!! :p

all aunties and uncles, brothers and sisters.. do you still remember these tables of very finely printed numbers, of which we needed to use a ruler to place on the correct line and then squint our eyes to read the figures?? and i have to admit here that, perhaps it was so many years ago that i do not think i remember how it works now, haha!! :p

就係講緊呢啲對數表册子囉, 想當年返學係隨身帶備哚.. 我記得要搵個對應嘅數值出嚟係頗多功夫嘅, 但係又慣駛慣用, 連計算機都唔需要.. 話時話, 家陣嘅學生仲有冇用呢啲對數表册子, 定係全部升級用計算機喇?? 我咁樣問係因為, 大家知啦, 與時并進嘛.. :)

we are talking about these little log table booklets (or better known as buku sifir??) that we used to bring along with us to school.. i remember it was tedious but we were so used to it that we didn't even need a calculator!! BTW, i wonder if students now are still using these booklets, or are already allowed to use scientific calculators in school?? i ask because, you know, time has changed right?? :)

咁呢, 我就無意中喺屋企度搵到兩本咁嘅册子, 紅色本印象深刻, 藍色本就唔係好記得.. 不過藍色本呢, 上面竟然印咗所謂嘅「此册歸考試局所有, 離開時請留低桌而面上」.. 吓?? 乜我咁大膽「噠」咗佢走?? 再翻一翻內頁, 見到1989年喎, 我當時都仲係小學噃.. 嗯, 咁就實係我阿哥或家姐做㗎啦, 唔係我哦!! 哈哈.. :D

and i actually found two copies of these booklets at home, which i remember the red one well but not the blue.. anyway, it is stated on the cover of the blue booklet that, "this copy belongs to the examination board, leave it on the table when exit".. ooopss!! did i just "smuggled" it out of the exam hall?? i flipped inside and saw the year 1989, hmmm, i was still in primary school then.. must be either my brother or sister who did it, not me!! hahaha.. :D

The Chronicles of My Mobile Phones

我係喺2000年先開始擁有自己部手機嘅, 都相當肯定係朋友及同事之中最後一個「有機一族」.. 我認為自己都算係個中庸嘅手機使用者, 咁多年以嚟都只係換過6部手機, 平均每2.5年先至一次棄舊迎新.. 大家嚟睇睇下面我的手機演進史, 其實都用咗啲時間上網搵啲相㗎, 尤其係前幾部古董, 哈哈!! 你呢?? 幾時開始有第一部手機?? 用咩款?? 依家又係第幾部手機呢?? :)

i only started to own a mobile phone in year 2000, i am pretty sure i was the last to (finally) have one amongst friends and colleagues.. i consider myself quite a moderate mobile phone user because throughout these years, i have had only 6 phones all together, which means i ditched an old phone for a new one every 2.5 years on average.. look at the chronicles of my mobile phones, i actually spent some time searching for the pictures especially the antique ones, haha!! how about you?? when did you first own your mobile phone, what model was it?? and what is the phone you are using now after how many changes?? :)

2000: Panasonic GD90 2003: Sony Ericsson T630 2007: Samsung E900 2007: Nokia 6300 2011: Apple iPhone 4 2014: Apple iPhone 5S 2000 Panasonic GD90 各位朋友, 我人生中第一部手機, 仲有支大天線添, 哈哈!! 其實係眾多朋友及同事俾壓力, 話成日聯絡唔到我, 先決定去買嘅.. 升級為「有機一族」果然感覺良好, 記得身邊啲人比我仲興奮, 呵呵!! :D folks, this was my very first mobile phone, still with an antenna, haha!! a result of all the pressures from friends and colleagues that they could not contact me once i'm out.. it felt amazing to finally have my own mobile phone, everyone was even more excited than myself i still remember, hahahaha!! :D 2003 Sony Ericsson T630 上一部手機嘅殼甩漆甩到慘不忍睹, 親朋戚友嘈笑有損我型像, 叫我換過部啦.. 三推四讓之下, 終於買咗我第二部手機, 係有彩屏同相機㗎!! the paint on the previous phone scrapped off very badly until my family and friends could not take it and urged me to get a new phone (to match my image), haha!! and so here it was, my second phone with color screen and a camera!! 2007 Samsung E900 上一部手機都用咗好一些年, 直至四個角啲按鍵全部要大力㩒先用到.. 為免手指再痛, 於是乎就換咗呢部推滑式手機, (想當年)係好型㗎!! the previous ones lasted some years until i decided to get a new one, because i had to press super hard for buttons at the corners to get them working.. to save my fingers from further hurting, i got this slide phone which was so d*mn cool (back then)!! 2007 Nokia 6300 同一年第二部新手機, 唔係我作風噃!! 有法子, 因為上一部手機喺MV一列逼爆人嘅KTM內俾人扒咗去(@#$%^&*), 所以迫不得已立即要買過部新機.. 如冇記錯, 呢部手機係我第一部有得(龜速)上網嘅.. another phone within the same year, so not my style!! no choice but since the previous one was picked-pocket in a very packed KTM (@#$%^&*) at MV, i had no choice but to go buy a new one immediately.. if not mistaken, this was my first phone which has a (tortoise speed) web browser.. 2011 Apple iPhone 4 上一部手機其實非常好用, 當人人都開始用觸屏式智能手機時,我仍然對佢不捨不棄㗎.. 直至多次跌落地, 以致按鍵壞壞地同手機殼走位, 我先最終踏上觸屏式智能手機嘅列車.. the previous phone was actually a good and useful one, i was still holding on to it when everyone moved to use smartphones with touch screens.. until many falls on the floor causing the keypad to not work well and the shell came slightly off, i finally jumped onto the touch-screen smartphone bandwagon.. 2014 Apple iPhone 5S 最後, 我依家用緊嘅呢部, 當時好有可能係一時嘅衝動?? 因為身邊嘅朋友個個都upgrade, 喺我面前揚嘛.. 於是舊年去北海道前幾日, 按奈不住走去簽咗電訊公司嘅trade-in配套, 成為呢款手機嘅忠實粉絲.. 你問我會唔會好快又upgrade?? 可能㗎, 嘻嘻~~ :p lastly, this is my current phone, which probably was an impulse?? everyone around me was upgrading and showing off in front of me.. finally just few days before i went to Hokkaido last year, i took up the telco's offer for a trade-in plan, and happily became a loyal user of this phone.. will i be upgrading soon, you ask?? likely, hehe~~ :p

唔知大家有冇睇過或者仲記唔記得我之前嘅一篇貼, 係話我無意中摷到我幼稚園份成績表?? 其實同一個箱入面, 我亦都搵到我高中時嘅部份考卷, 都收藏咗廿年喇(你咪即管去計下我幾多歲囉)!! 我拎住啲考卷一睇, 情不自禁講咗句｢嘩!! 呢啲問題想點先??!!｣, 哈哈!! 我嘗試回答, 始終都係一頭霧水...

i wonder if you have read or still remember the post about having found my kindergarten report card?? in that same box, i have also found some of my high school exam papers, which i have kept for almost 20 years (okay, go ahead and calculate my age)!! i held them in my hand, took a look and can't help myself from saying "what the f**k are these questions all about??!!", hahahaha!! i tried to solve the questions, but i just could't...

...但係廿年前嘅我, 竟然可以回答如流!! 感覺有點不可思議, 我完全唔知自己當時做緊乜!! 我諗人人所講嘅「俾返晒老師」呢句話, 套在我身上確係貼切不過.. 睇下我嘅得分, 當然係揀咗最好嗰幾份紙啦, 肥佬嘅就無謂獻醜啦, 呵呵!! 不過只有測驗作答俾大家睇, 只因為了避免學生作弊, 大考作答係唔俾返學生㗎.. 我話呢, 如果要我依家去考試, 實係肥佬兼捧蛋似喇, 哇哈哈哈!! :D

...and yet 20 years ago, i was able to do that!! how amazing, i don't know what i was doing!! i guess the saying "given all back to the teachers" is so true on me.. look at my score back then, of couse i have chosen the best ones, failed ones cannot be shown here mah, hehe!! but i can only show you the test sheets since exam sheets were not given back to students to prevent fraud.. i guess i will definitely fail with "an egg" if i am to sit for these papers now, muahahahaha!! :D
