炸雞塊丼定食 伴沙律, 壽司, 味增湯
chicken karaage don bento with salad, sushi and miso soup

friday night before the drum performance, due to the rush, i conveniently went into a japanese "restaurant" at one corner in a supermarket for dinner.. although it's so small there are less than 20 seats, the chef is really serious about things.. a simple and normal bento, not to the extent that i felt no-regret-to-die-tomorrow, but i could feel the genuine sincerity and commitment of the chef.. at RM18.80 a set, it's about the same as the other large scale chains, but definitely thousands of times better than those so-called "sushi kick", "suck guy sushi" and "sushi canai" to name a few!! at least it's not so commercial that simply hire someone, provide a one-month training and there they go mass production in the kitchen.. i always think that in terms of eating, the "personal touch" and the wholeheartedness of the chef is most important, that is why i never choose to go to such japanese restaurant chains~~ :)

    4. Good morning, SP and meow~~

Taiping is so dry until the lake has dried up and the pondans have no place to dive if the JAIP raided the place. Seriously, last time there was a case whereby a pondan tried to escape the raid and jumped into the lake. He was caught eventually because he almost drown, kakakaka!

    5. Meow, are you having a bowl of wantan mee soup or dry one? On this cold and wet morning, soup one is better :D

But I hardly have soup noodle. I prefer dry with dark sauce :p Wantan mee mana look like Malaysian version of Japanese noodle? Soba is thin, Udon is fat, Wantan mee is curly.

    6. so now all the Taiping female all wet .. and can dive into the taiping lake when JAIP come huh?

    2. SP, request homecooked Japanese food from Fui Fui. Make some soba or udon in your kitchen. Some Japanese recipes are quite easy to replicate, provided you have the mirin, soyu and the other basic essential.

Just don't get over excited with Japanese food and ended up starring in your own Japanese AV show, kakakaka~

Japanese food is expensive la but some are good . It really depend on individual taste. Like me, if you asked i would say "tak sedap" coz i dont like to eat Japanese food as they frequently put seaweed in to everything.

But for those who likes seaweed like my husband he would enjoy it very much la.

Pity my hubby. Cant go eat Japanese food with me. Sure I tak makan much.

    2. I always patronize the small scale / family-based business in my town here :)

I wouldn't say family-based ones are cheaper, the ingredients used is more or less the same, hence the price doesn't vary much. I merely enjoy the food which is prepared wholeheartedly by the chef :)

    6. My kids now are used to dine at Sushi King, I must pester them to try this sushi shop in our place.

A few chains have started to operate in Taiping, just recently such as Chatime, Paparich, Trutti Frutti, and Blackball. Everyday is so crowded. When we went to KL previously, we also just walked past these chains. Because they exist in all the big malls.

Anyway, we can give them some support occasionally, otherwise how are they going to survive in this small town? I hope they are not closing down next year Raya.

    7. Taiping is so happening now. Must take my old man to see his birth place at least once more. He won't remember a thing but the Lake Gardens must be vivid when he was courting other gals.

    14. Less traffic on the road, except on big public holidays.

And since the food is cheap, less shopping malls, it's a good place for billionaire SP to duplicate his cash and buy a villa with private swimming pool.

We are not hamsap la. Taiping lang are very naive one. Kan, TM and Yannie?? But got influenced by hamsaperor SP who stays in KL and goes to Japan several times to play the role of an AV star. He's the one to ahemization the HCP virus around.

    5. I need to go to Japan and buy my stock mah! Underwears and all. wakaka

Essentially, very senang - no Halal ramen. ALL ada babi in some form or other.

Even Japanese muslims eat ramen only when they are in Singapore or Malaysia.

      Delete
    6. Oh the Taman Desa one, i heard about too. Saw in Friends FB. Say the taukeh very friendly and nice. But someone complaint the place dirty. Haiyo...backlane expected to be dirty la. Maybe that is what make the food taste better LOL

      Delete
    7. Ok Lina, understood and noted. Just eat anywhere and don't take pork will do.

Small Pussy, that backlane is not that dirty la. Just the shops look old behind and it is dimly lit. The Japanese love them like crazy. They also frequent the Pulau Ketam Steamboat and Fichelle (French style cafe). The Japanese won't be wrong in their taste.

      Delete
    8. TM,
Tell him there are lots more things to eat in Japan than being obsessed with ramen.

Shio-ramen boleh la kot... but then again, most ramen is either chicken or pork stock based... he want to risk it ah?

      Better don't lah...

Plus remember to tell him (if he is willing to eat beef in Japan); burgers in Japan are patties of mixed beef & pork!

Later people say you kacang lupakan kulit if you ate free and wrote bad review.

Somemore, the restaurant sure will prepare the freshest and bestest food to the blogger and their service is 101% in tip top condition.

They say can eat the fried food but I dont eat much of fried food. very "yit hei" even fried food they also taruk seaweed. beh tahan

Their findings revealed that those deceased had eaten lots if raw sushis, raw beef and etc. when meat is not cooked, that means sometimes there are eggs of worms still yet to hatch. There goes my consumption for raw sushis and sashimis! I know I won't scare you guys but just eat lesser on raw stuffs.
