Comfortable Styling with My PUMA Shoes
okay folks, another break from my Hokkaidō travelogue posts.. so, we discussed about DIY trip or group tour previously, but regardless DIY or group, i guess we walk a lot more when we go travel (compared to back home, we drive everywhere we go and even parking also must be near the entrance).. hence, nothing is more important than wearing a real comfortable pair of shoes when we go travel, agree??
i flipped my photos and guess what i noticed?? those shoes i have been wearing were all Puma, haha!! i mean Puma the German multi-national brand established in 1924 that produces athletic and casual footwear lah.. this "leaping blackcat" brand reminds me of my very first pair of sports shoes bought using my own pocket money when i was 15, it was a Puma.. somehow in between i didn't go Puma but rather R.A.N. (no prize for guessing the three brands from the initials), maybe i could "ran" fast back then but now too old and fat to "ran".. okay, lame joke, i know.. 20 years later, i bought my first Puma since the absence and in these two years i have got myself, not one but, four pairs of Puma!! you said i'm crazy?? yeah perhaps, but when you found a great place with great deal for shoes, you probably won't say the same.. where you might want to know?? sabar lah, let me showcase my shoes and my sexy fat trotters legs first, okay?? muahahaha~~ :D

a line up of my four pairs of Puma shoes bought in these couple of years.. as you can see, i actually like these type of more "fashionable" sneakers rather than those "full spec" sports shoes, if you get what i mean, cos you know i don't really go exercise "full spec" also mah.. what i would go for in a pair of shoes?? comfort with style - that's why i bought them all!! hehe :p

okay okay, i know you can't wait to know where i got these shoes?? nowhere haute, but online shopping at Zalora it is!! who cares, if you get great offers and good service for a wide selection of clothes, shoes and bags, all with just mouse clicks??

    1. What lovely shoes!!! I haven't got any anymore. The last time I had a pair, it was POWER by Bata, cheap. These are all too expensive and since I do not put them to good use, no point spending so much on them. These days, they have a limited lifespan - never mind whether you use them or not, when it is time, they will just turn crocodile!!! Tsk! Tsk!

    5. Congrats! congrats STP! Top again. So what shoes do you own STP? I only own one pair of shoes at a time and I will wear them until the soles came off before I buy a new pair.

    6. I have a pair of Reebok that is more than 8 years old. Yup, the sole dropped off and I had them glued and stitched by the cobbler (twice) and it is still good. I know, I know, I sound like such a kiamsiap person. But I like that shoe. My only complaint is the soles are quite worn down and can be dangerous if the surface I walk on is slippery.

    7. STP, good shoes will last. Yeah now you reminded me of the brand 'P' which Bananaz got 'punctured' at the Penang Bridge Run '92 while on the way back just after crossing the mid span. Thereafter Chinese saying 'pain pain only once rather than pain pain many times' got a pair of Asics and still using it after 22 years, of course beyond recognition with all the blood sweat and tears.

    11. So far my N shoes and R shoes very lasting if compared to the others . Always buy from warehouse sale or sale at 50% or more. Those are the shoes that people deemed "expired" But i wear daily still can last 2-3 years. Pay a bit more only but end up by the time it worn out the price is worth it.

eh not really leh...Red shoes will also kinda easy to match leh if you want to be striking. now many wear striking colors leh.

For me when buy sport shoes, i will choose dark color coz light color i will need to wash it often leh. LOL ...If mood come then i will get a red one la like yours...so far the "brightest" color i have is purple

  17. The white one looks like my old shoes but instead of red , mine was with the green strip. Yeah , it's old school and reminded me of the 80s. In the past , folks just wore white with either the 3 Adidas strips or nike or Puma. It's nice to wear for jalan jalan . Yeah , now I noticed you wore it in japan.

  18. ankle-high beige-color suede-material shoes

Not bad wor. Two years already still look so brand new leh. Seldom wear ka?

I dont think I will buy this type coz the ankle there sometimes "bite" the "keok ngan"(feet eyes?) . Had a pair of heels before that cover the ankle...since then dare not buy anymore.

  19. Somehow a lot of people likes to wear red sports shoes nowadays. I saw many folks wore it I my gym. I think it's not bad as it's strikingly hot and easily noticeable. Great to wear it with shorts or Bermudas. I also almost got myself a red shoes lately instead of green but then , I thought it's not matching all my pants.

    1. Can figure out buying online for watches, clothes, hand bags etc but for shoes need to try first unless you go back to the same brand same size then no problem. Heard the arch is very important for shoes. Bananaz think better not take the risk to buy with a click as years go by perhaps or maybe can grow taller a bit and feet also bigger so how? Dream on huh haha.

    2. Yea, Zalora is improvising from time to time. They send lots of newsletter to me almost everyday, with voucher codes and all..
I also see they have more items now, apart from clothes, got bags la and accessories... Good la, since there are so many competitors these days~

  22. Most importantly the shoes must be fitting and comfortable besides looking good. I remember I bought 2 shoes which looks ok when I tried there but after a few wears , I noticed one is too tight while the other's insole was too soft. I ended up getting another shoes after almost 2 years.

    1. Speaking of this, I realize something very weird about shoes design. I bought a pair of Crocs for Aden last 2 months at One Utama, we actually let him tried on the spot and everything seems ok, even Aden also loves it and request to wear them right away.

Few days later when we back at Taiping, I accidentally realize the left side (the front part) is smaller then the right side!! But the size printed the same on the bottom for both sides. Aiyoyo, so wasted! Now the left side is a bit harder to wear cause the front is narrower.
Din't bring back to exchange cause it's at KL, plus it's already few days since we bought the shoes, I think they also don't allow to change lo~ =(

      Delete
    2. I think since it is original Crocs, maybe if you write in to the Crocs main company they will exchange for you. no need to go back and exchange at the same store. You still have the recipt? Email them and see la.

    3. Mamarazzi, but already so long jo! I don't think they will allow to exchange lo! Haih, never mind la, next time must be careful and triple check before leaving.

  23. So, did you carry your blue shoes in your car for the gym ? Since I am not driving in SG, I always carried it in my bag as I needed to go gym after work. Then, after the workout, I carried my working shoes back. LOL

    Replies
    1. I think SK doesn't drive to work, am I right SK?
Perhaps he just put the shoes in a bag then bring to gym, or may be SK directly wear that same pair of shoes to work and gym.

  24. It seem you like to shop online at Zalora. What I like is their services as the delivery is very fast. However, not sure if its a good idea to buy shoes online as you cannot tried it. Buying a pair of shoes is very different from clothes. The cutting and fitting of the shoes makes lots of different although you know your size.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's what I think also! Buying shoes online is not as easy and 'cincai' as buying clothes/accessories.
Somehow different factory produce different cutting, though same size but the cutting can be bigger/smaller... I prefer to buy shoes from the shop directly.
But good that Zalora offers return policy, may be that's why SK 'fong sam' to buy shoes online? =)

      Delete
    2. It is safe to buy shoes online since they allow us to change. Zalora is so easy to shop and they even provide us with return slips!!! Others don't do that! I like Zalora!

You might have issues to buy shoes online if your feet has 11 toes each!! Hear me Chris! Wakakakaka

  29. Let's see. The first pair is red and blue. Very striking colours. From far can see your shoes already. I won't say that it is flamboyant. Colourful but not over the top. Quite easy to match too with blue, red, white, gray, black and some other colour I forget the name. But if you ask me, this won't be my choice if I were buying. Too striking for me. I prefer white even though I know it will look like kasut sekolah and not easy to maintain.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Now this white and red one I like. As I mentioned, I like white and that red streak adds some oomph to it. But somehow I prefer canvas/cloth type of material. But of course leather is more durable and easier to clean. Very smart pair and this one is very easy to match, Goes with everything and suitable for most occasions except formal ones.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Good morning SK,

Nice shoes - very colourful indeed. Just one question - how do you ensure that all of them get worn by you equally? I have this dilemma so I only own one pair of shoes at a time because even if I own 4 pairs, only 1 pair will get used all the time and the other 3 pairs are neglected.

    Kindly advise. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Haha, that's a very 'funny' question mun! Only one pair of shoes? Really?
Actually if own more than 1 pair, can just take turns to wear, or may be one pair specifically for works, another one for casual wear/shopping.

    2. Do you wipe your shoes every time before you put them into the shoe cabinet, Hayley? Yes I only own one pair of shoes at a time. Japanese slipper tak kira as shoes lah.

      Delete
    3. I never wiped any sports shoes except my working shoes because I walked on muds so often at construction sites!

      Delete
    4. Mun, not really, unless the dirt is very visible, but I do slightly tap off the sands and dirts underneath before putting them into the cabinet.
And my shoes I keep at the cabinet outside, so I'll just open the door and let them 'sun bath', at least to get rid of the smell.

  32. Ah, this red pair is VERY striking! As a matter of fact I actually love it. I usually avoid red, though it is a nice colour. It is my mum's favourite colour and if she sees this pair, she will give you the thumbs up.

I see two shades of red, white, yellow and black. I must say that after taking a long close look, I like this one the best. But I will only match it with white or black pants. No red pants for me, no thank you. Or yellow or green. That's just me lah. Let's just say, I have very conservative taste.

  33. The first 3 pairs I think a girl can get away with wearing them. But not this one. This one is fashionable I guess, the sort that the younger set would wear. The colour is sort of neutral and very easy to match. I like suede but it is not easy to maintain. I mean what if it gets wet? Especially that it is starting to rain quite frequently these last few days. These must be among your top favourites as you wear them almost everyday for the last two years. Worth the money spent!

  37. Sorry lah no offence! Sometimes branding could face a challenge especially for those in the North where Hokkien is so commonly spoken and chances of mis-pronounciation may not sound nice. Just like the Nissan car where they had one model 'Blue Bird' and friends would tease the owner by asking 'where is your 'blue bird' car?' when said in Hokkien.

    1. The sizes of you and your daughter's feet are the same, so nice, can wear the same shoes. My feet are too small, can't share shoes with my sister and mother.

  42. Good afternoon people!

Eh so fast another break ar SK?

Hmm, true true, when go traveling, apart from being healthy and feel good, a pair of good shoes is an important element! Cause we need to walk a lot, imagine if the shoes give us pain at the feet, sure spoil the mood!
Of course the look and the design of the shoes cannot be neglected also but most importantly is the level of comfort the shoes bring.

    1. For me, whenever go travelling, I sure bring sport shoes and perhaps a pair of boots (if it's winter there). And if it's summer, usually I'll just bring a pair of lady sandals. But bringing sport shoes sure won't go wrong la. Easy to match also, can wear with shorts, jeans, and even maxi dress!
Anyway, I personally like boots very much, those up to knees level one, hehe, can makes my legs look slimmer and longer xD But I will choose the flat type, without heels. Easier to walk, and sometimes during a trip, we might need to 'climb' a bit, if you know what I mean.
I salute people who wear high heels when going on trips! I saw many times already, some are even those aunties! Yea no doubt wearing high heels look very nice and elegant but when walk long distance, sure feel uneasy! Later got blisters or feeling pain, sendiri susah saja~

    2. I also wear sneakers when I go on board.. can cover my feet.. not so cold.. but when walking, I like sandals if not cold.. so normally I take one pair along.... actually depending on the place, if hot like Malaysia, I just wear my walking sandals... one pair cukup, save space... hahaha..

    3. Claire, yaya when in the plane, cold, so better wear sneakers. But depends also la, cause for me, if take long haul flight, my feet tends to swell on board, if wear sneakers kinda uneasy also, sometimes I will wear those ballerina shoes, not that 'thick' and bulky.

True, if the place is hot like Msia, memang satu pair cukup, can always buy another pair there, hehe!

  43. So you are a loyal Puma fan eh? I have to say their shoes are indeed very good looking! As long as I can remember, I never buy any shoes from Puma before, in fact I prefer Nike, don't ask me why, I just like =)
As for my hubby, he prefers Adidas. But we each stock up a pair of Nike sport shoes when we went US last 2 years, cause much more cheaper!

So I can see all of Puma shoes are very colorful and very 年轻化! And you took effort to showcase all of them yourself! I never expect SK will do this type of 'fashion' show leh! Some more got pose one, tilt up one leg, macam model leh!! =) And hor, you even wear different pants in between! I notice that, wah you very 有诚意, not just one pant kaotim but more than one! Hehe, but it's a good start la! Now that you showcased your shoes, next time will show us your shirts perhaps? Hehehe!

    1. I love the first pair, blue and red always are a good combination and yes, blue won't go wrong on a guy =) Wah you even change the shoelaces? Cool! White is so boring right?

The second one is much more simpler, but still looking good, my hubby has a pair of Nike which looks similar, the Nike tick is in red color and the base is white, very very similar to yours here.
You wore this to Hokkaido ar? Hmm I have to admit I din't notice at all, I am not so observant :p
Yes, the white chalks thing, I remember! Every week after washing my school shoes sure have to brush a layer of the chalk one =)
But you wear shoes without socks one ar? Or you wear those short type one? 着鞋吾着袜,有型兼老实? Hehe... xD
Or perhaps you were lazy since this is just a 'showcase'? :p

    2. The third one is very unique, I think red looks good on guys and girls also, now we no longer 流行 dull color, but more on cool striking colors!
Good la, you seems very adventurous when it comes to color, my hubby ho, though he is younger than you, but he's very 老土 one, always play safe, either white, or grey color only. Boring!!

The last pair is nice too, something like a boots. You can wear with skinny jeans and show off the whole shoes lagi best!
Got dirt meh? Cannot see from the photo =)

All from Zalora?? Geng wo! I love to shop online and I don't mind to shop for tops, bottoms, innerwear, bags and etc but for shoes, I prefer to buy directly from the shops, cause shoes sizes are harder to judge, what if the sizing isn't right? Of course like Zalora they provide return la but not all online boutiques provide that.

  46. I never own any PUMA shoes, I own Hush Puppies, Scholl, Reebok, Nike, New Balance, Adidas and Brooks. But why I didn't have any PUMA. May be no luck to get one yet so far. May be future, I may get one, who knows?

I love comfortable shoes only. Yannie has big foot, so the shoes must be comfortable and big enough for my foot.

SK is very fashionable la! SK has colourful bermuda. Jin Jin is very old fashion and boring one. His bermuda is only black, dark blue and dark brown only.

  47. I love the colourful designs of PUMA shoes! They always stand out differently from the other brands. The moment we see a PUMA's runner, their distinctive shapes and curves are all there! I have a pair of PUMA shoes too and it has lasted me for many years now without wearing out as they are lasting. I believe mine is made from good materials with finest stitches!

  48. Yah, very true!! If go travel must expect have to walk a lot, doesn't matter with DIY group or with given tour guide, still have to walk anyway!! Last time when I was very young, still don't know mah!! So every time go travel, I always want to wear pretty pretty shoes, then only can look very good in the pictures!! But ends up feet pain then how?? Only got two choice lo, one is sit down don't need to walk and see anymore, but as for me, I'm not that kind of person can sit down quietly one!! So even though pain still can force myself to really walk one!!! Thus I always get the second choice which's buy a new shoes on the spot, but the things is my feet are too small, always found the pattern I like but doesn't have my sizes....(reason always end up in a kid's shop!! =.=!!)

So after all and all!! I'm very smart now, if really want, bring two shoes lo!! (I know is very heavy) One is pretty pretty shoes(I always pick boots, my favorite and must have a high heel gap behind, so that I also can look taller in the picture) another one is spots shoes!! My spots shoes is always Adidas or Nike...so far haven't got Puma shoes...(paiseh, paiseh!!!)

  49. Shoe #1 Yah, the most important thing is the comfort, the outlook of the shoes comes the second, if buy a pretty shoes but it hurts your feet then for what, right? 自己拿来辛苦自己meh?

  50. Shoes #2 This shoes reminds me of all of my shoes are just white and black!!! If there're same pattern of shoes with different colors, first to chose is always white color, I know every time people around always give comment such as white color is very hard to take care of this and that, but I don't care, I know I always have well care on it, thus my shoes won't get so dirty easily (serious)

  51. Shoes #3 Red is okay la!! I like red shoes also, but so far I haven't found one =[ I've been looking for a red shoes since long time ago, but always what I found is not cool or doesn't have my size!! =[

I've a senior who bought a yellow sharp glowing soccer shoes leh!! That's one time we went to the field to support their team, my other of my friend doesn't know what's his name...so she just shout "Banana shoes go go go!!" Very funny la!! The rest of us beside were like laughing nonstop, but seriously before it, we don't even noticed he wear such sharp yellow shoes lo!!
