Hokkaidō Trip Summer 2014 - DAY 4B of 8 Garden Hopping in Colorful Furano (富良野)

after enjoying a rather serene morning in the (still) quiet Heiwa Dori shopping park (平和通買物公園 Heiwa-Dori Kaimono-Kōen) and the beautiful Tokiwa Park (常磐公園 Tokiwa Kōen), we proceeded to one of the highlights of this trip - visiting flower fields in Furano (富良野)!! thank god, it was such nice weather on day 4 itself, else we would have to miss this if it continued to rain like the day before :)
Show me: Full Version Short Version
#4B-F1 ■ ■ our friend was so kind to take his afternoon off on this monday and drove us all the way from Asahikawa (旭川) to Furano (富良野) for the flower fields.. hence, i don't have much useful information about how to get there.. the tourist information counter in Asahikawa Station (旭川駅 Asahikawa Eki) and most hotels would be able to advice on the transportation, but since many flower fields are not served by public transport, it would be wiser to go for a local tour or better still to rent a car and drive to travel on your own pace.. [Reference] #4B-F2 ■ ■ it was about an hour's drive (okay, not just 32km if you spotted that in the previous photo, it was taken half way through the journey) but i did not actually feel it taking that long.. the scenery along the road to Furano (富良野) was so picturesque capturing the landscapes of farms and fields, probably gazing out of the window at such scenic views has made me forgotten about time passing away.. #4B-F3 ■ ■ during summer, many different species of flowers bloom in the many flower fields along the route from Biei (美瑛) to Furano (富良野), hence the most popular activity in this area would be "garden-hopping".. our first stop was this not-so-tourists-packed like-so-cincai-by-the-roadside-only Kanno Farm (かんのファーム Kanno Fāmu) in Kami-Furano (上富良野 - literally Upper Furano) which already got us so excited!! all i want to say is, breathtaking!! #4B-F4 ■ ■ ... and when i said excited, guess how excited i was?? jumping-high-up kind of excitement that was!! muahahahaha.. okay, so this one looks way more cool than my signature pose huh?? what do you think?? :p #4B-F5 ■ ■ it was kind of a "garden-hopping" excursion, remember?? so after a brief stay at Kanno Farm (かんのファーム Kanno Fāmu), we continued to the next field.. the Farm Tomita (ファーム富田 Fāmu Tomita) in Naka-Furano (下富良野 - literally Lower Furano) which is, to a higher degree, more established and tourist centered.. this photo was taken at the carpark (parked with lots of cars and tourist buses) looking at the Furano Valley at the far end.. our Japanese friend told me, he comes to this place every year and this was his 4th time.. #4B-F6 ■ ■ colorful fields of flowers and large pieces of lavender fields were found in this Farm Tomita (ファーム富田 Fāmu Tomita).. the excitement was not as intense as we were in Kanno Farm (かんのファーム Kanno Fāmu), first because this was no longer the very "virgin experience" (muahahaha!!), second because this place was very crowded with tourists.. anyway, it was still a very beautiful place i would like to stay to admire the flowers, and also to keep on breathing the very soothing scent of fresh lavenders.. [side note] the scent of fresh lavenders is mild yet soothing, not the strong smell those heavily processed essence/ fragrance/ deodorant/ by-products etc you thought that can make you feel dizzy.. :) #4B-F7 ■ ■ inside Farm Tomita (ファーム富田 Fāmu Tomita), there is this Tomita Melon House (とみたメロンハウス Tomita Meron Hausu) which is a shop selling all kinds of refreshments in everything melon.. melon is considered as one of the "posh" fruits in Japan and amongst them, the orange-flesh Yubari melon (夕張メロン Yūbari Meron) is the most expensive and coveted breed, like Musang King of durians (???).. so, how could we miss that??!! of course we could not afford one whole Yubari melon each (can be thousands of yens), but two sharing one slice of Furano melon (¥300!!!) just to taste would do also lah.. how did it taste you wonder?? so fragrant and tender and juicy and sweet that i rolled my eyes having it in my mouth!! another favorite of this trip, it's HEAVENLY HEAVEN!!! #4B-F8 ■ ■ "trapped" in a lavender farm we were, we bought some (expensive commercial) souvenirs made of lavenders and saw also refreshments made of lavenders!! just had our melons, we cared for nothing but went ahead to get each an ice-cream (¥300), recommended by our Japanese friend who claimed it as the best in Hokkaido.. we had melon (orange color in front) and lavender (violet color at the back), true enough, so silky smooth and lavishly creamy, both very delectable but i personally prefer the melon one more.. okay, yet another favorite of this trip, but don't go and see the giant ones on the left lah basket, kids also know they are fake!! :D #4B-F9 ■ ■ Furano (富良野) has the similar climate as Provence in Southern France, hence the lavender as well as cheese and wine.. of course we didn't manage to get to the cheese and wine factory due to the shortage of time (and also paiseh to ask our friend to drive further), but i definitely was extremely happy and felt grateful.. look at how sweet i smiled reflecting my feelings, though i was already sunburnt under the bright sun by then, muahahaha!! :D
so that was our "garden-hopping" in Furano (富良野), capturing tons and tons of beautiful images of flowers into our cameras and phones, and of course memories.. certainly not to be missed by nature or flower lovers, being neither one of those but i frankly say, i was pretty amazed by the timeless beauty of nature.. next, still on the same day 4 (yeah, i know you just said "huh?? still got ah??") and continued to be amazed by the nature on the way back to Asahikawa (旭川) for dinner, stay tuned!! :) travelogue posts in this series: |

DeleteFlowers, flowers, flowers! I can go crazy at the flowers farms!
DeleteGood Morning Bloggers! Wah! First chopper here - Congrats!
DeleteI never can get this lucky spot, so I tumpang and greet you. I have been missing for days. I am back!
Today's post is very colourful and gives me a happy mood to spam!
Yeah, its indeed very colourful with all the flowers and ice-creams from the farms.
DeleteGood afternoon, TM! I just found out you are the winner of a very cute bike which is soon to be the joy of the children at your chosen orphanage! Bless your kind heart!
DeleteCongrats Phong Hong and TM! Both are winners today!
Deleteyes, flowers!! beautiful flowers!! colorful beautiful flowers!! SK was so happy~~ :)
DeleteGood morning day4B, I’m waiting for you.. In fact, all bloggers are waiting too.. Without wasting anymore time, jom, day4B, here I come!
ReplyDeleteYep, your friend is very nice, taking half day from work and tour you guys around.. I will also do the same, but depends la, who that person is, hehehe..
DeleteMy leaves are very precious one.. Usually for the kids and emergency, if they are sick or unwell.. I don’t even have time for myself.. If I wana go do my hair or go shopping, I have to apply sick leave jor.. Shhhhh..
Eh, nice wor the scenery along the road to Furano.. Like postcard leh.. it’s really nice.. I would have set it as desktop background in the office pc jor.. Then everyday look at it, barulah semangat..
DeleteOMG, I clicked on the numbers.. Is that lavender in the 2nd picture? I’m not a fan of lavender, never liked them becoz of the smell, very geli, BUT in your picture, wow, they look so nice and peaceful leh.. I could imagine myself standing there smelling them (altho’ I hate them).. But it’s so so nice.
DeleteAnd flower #3 looks like postcard too.. I like..
Amboi, seksa aku tengok.. You look so sexy leh, with your signature pose, posing with those pretty flowers.. With your colourful attire, wah, match dou... Hou matching wor..
DeleteFarm Tomita entrace looks very cute leh.. Like funfair or toyhouse kinda thingy.. Hou leng ahh !! Reminds me of Baby Einstein “In The Farm” episode..
DeleteBoth my boys love Baby Eisntein, and really, this Farm Tomita entrance really looks like something from one of those baby Einstein scenes..
Ooohhh, look at that orange melon ice cream! Can I lick some ahh? Can only imagine now I guess..
DeleteErrr, no thank you to the lavender ice cream, but well, my motto is: Already come here, sure must try, cannot everything say don’t want..
Ok, I might lick some of that lavender ice cream too..
DeleteThe smell of lavender makes me dizzy.
Deletegeli on lavender?
DeleteFresh lavender scent is very mild and soothing. not like those car air freshner type punya. Those car air freshner type already campur with a lot of chemical. smell already will pening.
hahaha bet Sk purposely wear colorful to make a striking balance between the flowers.
It is so strange that I hear people feels dizzy with lavender scents. Like Small Kucing said, some were not pure ones so the smell could make me pengsan too. I buy the pure essential oils of lavender from US online and it relieves headaches & migraines instantly when rubbed on forehead. I love it.
DeleteI also used Lavender essential oil before, which they mixed with something else. It's soothing and relaxing. I tired the lavender shower foam also but the smell goes away as fast as my fart, after the shower.
DeleteGood afternoon Princess Ribbon,
DeleteAte your lunch already? Yes, I agree his Japanese friend is very nice to take him and his friends around as annual leaves are very precious to people with their own family.
Must try, must try the lavender ice cream. I have tried sakura ice cream made from the sakura flowers before so die die must try lavender ice cream. I think the lavender taste should be very very mild and not those artificial lavender flavouring.
Chris, when at lavender fields, please control the gas. LOL!
DeletePhong - sure sure ...thought I add more smell to make it better.
DeleteLOL...what la you Chris...fart and lavender..ho ho siew.
DeleteYea some "chemical" type of lavender scent does makes me dizzy. but if pure ones ok.
Think same goes for all types of perfume.
errr, i never said i am going to finish within this month at all, all i said is that i will be blogging about it the whole August only.. still can continue into September one mah, right?? no need to countdown how many days left for the month lah..
Deleteaiyoh, definitely different not those strong smell you all were thinking lah.. maybe you phobia with those smell from heavily processed lavender added with lots of chemicals and additives lah.. but the fresh scent i was smelling in the lavender farm, was so mild and refreshing and soothing and relaxing lah.. if the scent can make people dizzy, i think the place won't be so packed leh~~ :p
Alright! A much anticipated post on flower fields! I can see from the windscreen that the weather was good with very clear skies. Alas this attraction is not near train stations and understandable so. One hour's drive is not that bad. I am not a good car traveller. I get car sick but it is certainly different in Japan where it is not so hot. Besides, the excitement is enough to "drug" me and I think I would be OK even if it is more than one hour. Love the greenery. The road to Furano is like travelling along a picture book!
ReplyDeleteyeah, thank god weather was good and sunny that day, else we would have to leave without seeing the flowers.. lucky!! and the hour drive journey didn't actually seem to be an hour, because i was gazing out of the window all the time.. even the countryside looked so beautiful..
DeleteI clicked the photos and went wah! wah! wah! wah! wah! Rows and rows of beautiful and colourful flowers! I could spend a few days here hah,,hah,,,
ReplyDeleteya lor...see the flowers already WAHHHH.....
Deletefor those who loves plants will wanna stay longer leh. half day definately not enough
The flower fields are really beautiful! Must take a lot of work to plant these flowers.
Deleteyeah.. indeed we were "wah wah wah" when we saw one flower fields after another, haha.. but in the end, we just stopped by the two larger ones..
DeleteKanno Farm is like paradise to me. Gosh, I love all those flowers. I would be clicking and clicking my camera away. Oh, you look like a ballet dancer leaping into the air. That is the effect from all those gorgeous blooms eh? Yes, I like this pose. Very graceful and like I said, very much like a ballet dancer!
ReplyDeletehaha, ballet dancer?? that is rather a funny description on me, i've never been imagining myself as a ballet dancer, muahahahaha!! i thot i jumped quite clumsily~~
DeleteThis Farm Tomita is equally beautiful with all those blooms in particular the lavenders. But when a place is too touristy, it kind of spoils it a bit right? But as long as it is not over crowded, it should still be alright. The scent of Lavender is supposed to be therapeutic and soothing. But quite honestly it makes me pening heh..heh...
ReplyDeleteit was quite okay because the place was large but kind of pissed off when some inconsiderate tourists just took up the space, hanging on the same spot for so long and didn't want to let others go take photo.. hmmm, depending on what kind of lavender you are smelling?? :p
DeleteAh, I like this Melon House! I love melons and how I wish I could taste the Yubari Melon. The honeydews or rock melons that are available over here are sometimes not sweet at all. It has very bland taste sometimes. Can't say that I have tasted one that would make me go wow!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, those melons are so nice to see and even nicer to eat!! how i am actually missing it already.. ours one are not this type, what they have are the cantaloupe while we have honeydew or rock melon here, i think it's a crossbreed between these two..
DeleteGood morning SK and all.
ReplyDeleteToday is all about flowers is it? Yipee.....after heavy rain...all plants and flowers sure to spring up and show their happy face. Ah...the freshness and the nice scent from the flowers...sure cheer the gloomiest day
Meow, can spend the whole day there!
DeleteFlowers may be beautiful but flowers with pollens may cause some people who are sensitive and allergic to pollens to get hay fever. I see this often during spring in UK when the flowers are blooming and the pollens are everywhere and people sneezing everywhere.
Deletebetul wor...can spend whole day there...but if spend whole day there will be torture also cause can see but cannot bring home all those lovely flowers. Plant here very hard to grow coz of the weather.
Deleteyes, some people does have allergy. Happy the SK and friends doesn;t have them else they wouldn;t have gone and see...or maybe they will still go. just take allergy med. .
yes, beautiful flowers!! and of course i only go there since i am not allergic to pollen.. if one is allergic to pollen, then it would be so insane to insist going to the flower fields, agree?? :D
DeleteWah..I like the soft serve ice-cream! Looks so good! I would like to try both flavours and I reckon that I would prefer the melon flavour. I'll have two cones please :) Fruity ice cream is very nice but a flowery one? Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteyes!! the ice-cream so so so delicious!! i felt like in heaven already when i was licking that.. of course must try both flavor since we were already there, but i personally prefer the melon more :)
Deleteahem...this round no bare all and bikini version ah? so "serious" and only have Full version and short version only ka? LOL
ReplyDeleteSK does not want those wrong type of people with salty and wet brain coming to visit his post so no more keywords like that I guess.
DeleteOh ya ka. I didn't know. thanks for enlightening
Deletehaha, yalah.. later attracts all the flies and ants!! hahaha~~
Delete#4B-F1
ReplyDeleteFrom the signboard it's 32km wor....so about half an hour from Asahikawa (旭川) to Furano (富良野)? Traffic seems smooth.
32km taken halfway during the journey lah, definitely more than 32km since it's an hour drive..
DeleteI can see that you were so happy! That smiley serene look on your face says it all. I bet that was partly due to the intoxication soothing aroma of lavender, the tasty juicy melon and the heavenly ice-cream. And of course being in a place full of flowers is almost like being in paradise. Yes, you were very contented!
ReplyDeleteYes, can really see from SK's face in the photos that he was really really happy and satisfied with all the flowers and fruits and ice creams that he had there.
Deleteoh yeah!! actually looking at the flowers, colorful flowers to be exact, your emotion kind of lifted together and i am sure everyone was feeling happy seeing the a place full of beautiful flowers right in front of you.. and oh, of course the melon and ice-cream too~~ :)
DeleteLooking forwards to the next post. Hope to see yummy pictures of your dinner :)
ReplyDeleteerrr, don't expect more food photos from me, i am not a foodie~~ hehe!!
Delete#4B-F2
ReplyDeleteLOL...baru saw your narration....am scrolling and commenting photo by photo :p
So much greenery over there.. Charming. Good photos also . no shaky though snap using phone :)
Any idea what is the middle photo? looks a bit like paddy field
haha, no problem, i was also writing imagining my readers read one by one and already posting questions in their mind.. so i read your mind, and explain in the next photos.. ah, yes, could be rice field leh but i wasn't sure..
Delete#4B-F3
ReplyDeleteSuper love this *dramatic hand gestures*
not-so-tourists-packed like-so-cincai-by-the-roadside-only Kanno Farm ??? like that say cincai ah....then am having very high expectation on subsequent pics. They really have patience to plant the flowers in colorful rows.
1. it's like a page out of a postcard.
Delete2. Lavender!!!!!!!!!!!!!(1 x1000).
Deletethe color so blue. No like the tiny ones i saw in Genting. pale color and not full bloom
3. so many leh the flowers....really nice weather they have there for the flowers to bloom so nice. Over here most nurseries i saw they put black netting to protect the flowers from sun.
Delete4. aiyo.....i see those crysenthemum...so many blooms....wanna cry liao. Must have very nice scent....fresh and sweet
Delete5. I wonder the 1st left pic is what flower.....like baby breath but looks bit different...middle one okay la....last one is the lavender? really doesnt look same as the onese i see. Maybe different soil and weather
DeleteThanks for accomodating my request for close up of various flowers :)
DeleteDon't ask SK what flower, he don't know one hee..hee..
DeleteMe too appreciate the flower close ups!
DeleteI wouldnt be surprise if SK will know leh coz he very teliti one. before post up sure he do a lot of research...lol
Deletei mean we cincai go somewhere already got one such beautiful garden by the roadside, not mean this place cincai lah, haha.. all free to access leh, if in Bolehland, sure you won't be able to see this lah, gotta pay RM5 at least to get in, and went in already, you find nothing to see.. haha!!
Deleteand sorry lah, don't ask me what flowers are those.. other than those common ones like tulips, roses, chrysanthemums, orchids, hibiscus etc i know lah.. even lavender i wasn't too sure if anything violet are lavender, haha!!
Eh, your shirt kind of match with the lavender colour!
ReplyDeletehe purposely wear that i think....this guy ah....good at planning punya :)_
DeleteYa lah, he is very fashionable judging from the 16 poses in the previous post LOL!
Deletehaha, of course planned earlier what to wear already mah, haha!!
Deleteoh, 16 poses?? not that many lah.. 4 shoes and 3 poses for each, that was 12 only~~
#4B-F4
ReplyDeleteLOL...so excited ah....ahem ...if me i also will jump up and down leh....muhahaha
wei...you purposely wear colorful that day is it to strike good contrast against the flower fields. Darn clever la you. See the photo already feel happy liao
DeleteI am sure Small Kucing will have more poses than SK in the flower fields but Mamarazzi will have a hard time chasing Small Kucing to capture his poses.
DeleteSmall Kucing's initials are also SK so SK and SK, can mix them up already now.
Deleteyeah, the first flower field we went, we were like "wah wah wah", and suddenly i thought of jumping to show my excitement mah.. haha!!
Deleteoh, SK is me lah.. Small Kucing can be simply known as Meow, easier~~ :)
#4B-F5
ReplyDeleteThe lower and upper part is it something like cameron...like brinchang and tanah rata?
Must be a very good attraction place as your friend goes there annually. A place to escape from the city and relax with family. Like short vacation .
errr, not like brinchang and tanah rata lah.. more like Hulu and Hilir, but no river there lah.. oh yes, the friend said he loves the place very much and that's why he goes there every year..
Delete#4B-F6
ReplyDeleteNot sure is it this place bigger or just the photo angle coz from the 1st pic...it look bigger than the Kanno Farm
2. The light blue was it lavender or just another type of flower
Delete3. The rows of flowers seems very dense. They must need a lot of time to take care and prune so many plants there
Delete4. Tourist very excited wor but i see all very guai. Nobody went into the rows of flower and step on them to snap pic. All stay in the path
Delete5. I guess the house in the background must be the owner punya house or the place where they sell the products made of flowers
Delete6. Look at the 7 trees at the back. Look like 7 ladies in skirt looking after the Lavender
Delete7. Bravo! even managed to snap photo of dragonfly on lavender.
Deleteah....can feel the soothing scent of lavender and the sweet crysenthemum flower....how nice. I think maybe if can picnic there sure nice
Deleteyes, it's actually a lot larger and bigger in scale.. more tourist here because they also have cafes and souvenirs shop.. the earlier one just a farm like that only.. errr, they have ropes to fence the flowers lah, but still can walk in along the small paths to take photo, as if you were standing amongst the stalks of flowers lor.. but we didn't do that lah, too many people already and it was a huge place, so many to see..
Deletehehe, sharp eyes!! you saw the dragonfly!! and actually there was also a bee in the same photo, did you see that also?? :p
Oh...The travelogue is back. Yeah , you guys are lucky that the weather is great , can do a lot of things over there compared to a rainy day. Anyway , I heard the weather in japan can be quite nasty. Thunderstorm can come suddenly.
ReplyDeleteyes, lucky us the weather was good that day, else we would have to miss the flower and end this trip with a regret..
DeleteThat's so nice of your friend to drove you guys down as well as took leave. Probably he knows the flowers over there are not easily accessible and you guys needed to spend unnecessary money to go there via tours. I guess he can take a break from work too.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah.. initially we wanted to go a day earlier since it was Sunday but then raining for the whole day.. we actually about to plan to go on a local tour, but the friend tried his best to make time for us, so he took half a day in the morning to settle his work and in the afternoon drove us around..
DeleteWow..The scenery was very nice and calm ! I like the light greenish fields with some farm houses along the way. These are the stuffs where tourists should go to instead of the bustling malls. It's really very relaxing !
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, it was really nice looking at those green fields along the road while we were driving to Furano..
Delete#4B-F7
ReplyDeletewah the way you describe the melon really can ask the farm to use it as advertisement leh. Makes me drool leh
2. so the ones in the boxes are Yubari melon?
Delete3 & 4...looks a bit like a kind of melon found in Aeon and market over here. Heard a friend said she bought from market a special melon(dunno the name) ..rm13 a biji.
DeleteGuess if these Yubari melon exported to Malaysia sure price will be higher than that
betul tu...went all the way there must at least have a slice. At least know how is the taste. Must not assume it taste like any other melon
RM13 a biji? At Isetan during Japanese Fair, special melon called Musk Melon with orange flesh like this costs over RM100 sebiji. Not very big also, normal melon size.
DeleteRM13 one biji of melon, that one i think nor special at all, just the price of our normal honeydew or rockmelon only woh.. those Japan mali punya, if not RM130 a biji also at least around RM100 leh, no play play one..
Deletethat's why, it's cheaper there and have no reason to not try them!! OMG, i am starting to miss that already..
The summer flowers are so colourful and it's like heaven there. Are these wild flowers where no one manned it ? Ah .... I see lavenders. They looks so beautiful !! Luckily it was good weather else you guys will miss these beautiful moments. Looking at these flowers will definitely melt away all.the stress.
ReplyDeletenot wild flowers lah, it's a manned flower farm.. all should be going to fragrance factory in the end i guess.. yeah, stress away when you are looking at the flowers for sure :)
DeleteHahah ..not just you but I think I will get excited too with all these colourful flowers !! I will probably take lots of pics and even jump higher....Hahah ....its not like often we can see these colourful beds of flowers.
ReplyDeletewe see flowers everyday, but in this quantity really is very rare right?? imagine a bed of flowers, millions of stalks of them!! it's an amazing view leh..
DeleteI like flowers, can stay there for a long time admiring it... hehe...
ReplyDeleteyou can bring those flowers to getai also~~ :p
Delete#4B-F8
ReplyDeletewakakaka....kelakar la you......." don't go and see the giant ones on the left lah basket"
I wonder how they make the lavender ice cream. whether they juice the flower or just put those flavouring.
Both i also will wanna try if I go there
haha, just joking lah, but cannot exclude the possibility that some may think those giant ones are real ice-cream mah :D
Deleteerr, no idea how the make the lavender ice-cream leh, i think similar way like sakura, roselle or chrysanthemum gua..
I am sure you will feel so relax smelling the soothing fragrant of the lavender. After all, they are a source of aromatherapy. Did they sell any essential oils in the farm ? The pictures are so beautiful !!
ReplyDeleteOr did they offered aromatherapy there ? Lol
Deleteof course got essential oil lah, actually they have all kinds of lavender products sold - use one or eat one also got.. haha, why you LOL?? must be thinking about something hamsap when you think of aromatherapy la~~
Delete#4B-F9
ReplyDeleteaiks...habis liao......too bad about the wine and cheese factory. Maybe over ther have to stay overnight ah? enjoy the wine, rest and relax there
Love the photo on the right hand side. You look so cheery :)
errr, no lah, if we had more time definitely can make a trip there, it's just around the Furano center.. but we didn't have much time, so never mind also lah..
Deletewahahaha.....ya wor.....still got ah?/ But good also that you break into day post and night post. at least let us "digest" the lovely flower post first.....
ReplyDeletegosh if am there think i will feel like wanna bring back home and tanam though know that our climate not suited for the flowers...sob sob........so nice......
too much to blog about already lah, terpaksa split into two posts, else everyone will complain me very long-winded leh..
DeleteYeah , I heard about the yubari melons being sold at exorbitant prices in Singapore. The colour of the melons looks so good in your pixs. So bright orange and it indeed looks juicy.
ReplyDeleteyeah, indeed very expensive, it's over RM100 sold over here in supermarkets.. and you are right, it came in bright orange and really looks appetizing..
DeleteYeah , at least must try the melons even if it's furano melon and not yubari. I can tell how you like the melons from your description. Hahah.... Our local rock melons already not bad and these melons are so much better than it. These are kings of melons !
ReplyDeleteyalor, i heard the furano melon is so much cheaper than the yubari melon, and as tasty if not better.. anyway, i don't have a golden tongue, if you bluff me also i won't know, haha~~
DeleteThe colour of the ice cream seems reminds you of how colourful the flowerbeds you saw just now. I'm sure the ice cream are freshly made from the farm ingredients ! It's so tantalising that I feel like taking a sip of the melon ice cream !!
ReplyDeleteSo , how was the lavender ice cream ? Seldom see a violet colour ice cream. Do they served green tea ice cream too ?
Deletedont think they have green tea gua coz see the ice cream cone there only have two wor. Seems the place specialise in lavender and melon....unless they also have crysenthemum ice cream also la. saw some crysenthemum flowers there
Deleteyeah, those ice-cream were so good that i can actually have another one right away, haha.. hmmm, green tea ice-cream?? not interested at all, somemore so common lah, go to the lavender field must try lavender ice-cream mah, and it was melon season, so melon also cannot miss lah.. green tea is like all seasons woh..
DeleteI can see how delighted and satisfied you are from your pics. Lots of grinning from your pixs and you looks cool in that sunglasses. Can get sunburn meh under that climate ? There are also lots of tourists taking pics there at your back. I am sure this is a tourists attraction.
ReplyDeletehaha, of course happy mah, see those colors can actually make one delighted.. yeah, actually not sunburnt lah but realized i was so much tanner when i got back to hotel, haha~~
DeleteSo , what souvenirs you bought ? All made with lavender ? Show us here la next time. Hahha. ..
ReplyDeleteyeah, the souvenirs there all lavender one lah, i bought a few things lor..
DeleteIs there any reason for that pose in 4B-F4? I seem to see it in most of the photos that you take.
ReplyDeleteI like lavender and lavender based things. Although some guys think that is quite feminine. Not that I care. This place seems worth visiting for me, hmm..
The normal signature pose is a running pose. This is a jumping pose so this is a special pose. Not the same as the previous pose.
DeleteIs it? LOL I was not paying attention, the picture come out, the pose looks similar..
Deletehahaha, the running pose and the jumping pose not the same at all lah.. of maybe you are too used to seeing still poses, a little bit of "motion" oriented pose would be all the same to you?? haha~~
DeleteGood morning good morning good morning!
ReplyDeleteThe long awaited post, the flowers post!! Let me leave a comment first, shall come back and spam tonight, it's a busy day today! ;)
Hayley finally back here!
Deletethe online business taukesoh is really busy lately, good business ke??
DeleteGood afternoon bloggers. I like picture #4B-F4. SK can jump higher than the bench, clap, clap, clap. Yes, this is a better pose than the signature pose. Lavender is nice, I love the scent of Lavender, always, I love the purple colour of Lavender too. Your ice-cream looks very creamy and yummy.
ReplyDeleteSK looks like a fashionista in colourful bermuda la! I must ask my jin jin to buy colourful bermuda as well, so that he can look as youthful as SK.
yeah, the lavender were nice and in fact all the flowers were beautiful.. and of course the melon and the ice-cream were so unforgettable.. haha!! Yannie can go and buy the colorful bermudas for Jin-Jin lah, sure he will look a lot better than me~~ :0
DeleteGood afternoon all. Just done with my lunch. I wonder if this place do provide staycation where there are motels or small hotels for tourists to stay overnight to enjoy the nature ? This should be very therapeutic with all the beautiful colourful flowers and fresh air.
ReplyDeletehmmm, i am not quite sure about this.. probably in the town center but i do not think they have any accommodation in the farms.. but i definitely think it would be a good idea to stay a night in the farm, i would like to do so..
DeleteCincai one also look so nice already. No wonder SK was jumping happily. :)
ReplyDeleteGood lah, you got to experience the not-so touristy farm and a popular one. I like. :)
i didn't say the farm was cincai.. i mean we cincai went to one place, already got such a nice farm by the road already.. :D
DeleteWith such lovely scenery to view along the route, I also probably will feel the journey short lah. :)
ReplyDeleteYah, me too! Sekejap jer dah sampai!
Deleteyeah, it really felt like just a while though an hour has passed..
DeleteGood afternoon SK,
ReplyDeleteOf course this jumping pose is more superior to the running pose. The photographer is very keng to capture you in action in mid air some more. So from now on, it will only be jumping pose, no more running pose?
Or the jumping pose is inspired by the lavenders. So no flowers no jumping pose?
The melon, should have one slice per person since it is only 300yen (RM10 only). Here one Japanese melon is so so so so expensive so I guess it should be slightly cheaper in Japan than here.
At a glance, I thought the ice creams in both photos are real. Thank goodness you say that the ones on the left are not real. How does lavender ice cream taste like?
For this trip, I will just eat melons, ice creams and snow crabs, enough already. :D
DeleteMun, how about ramen? Surely you can't miss that :)
DeleteNo place in my stomach for ramen anymore. :( Too much ice creams, melons and crabs.
DeleteRamen, eat in Malaysia lah, so many ramen restaurants here with Japanese chef nowadays XD
Deletehahaha, no idea why the jumping suddenly flashed across my mind.. since it was such a nice place, just do it, haha!! and you are right, never miss the melon and the ice-cream, they are really so delicious, and gosh, i am starting to miss them already..
DeleteI love Japan so much and all your posts excite me till I get heart attacks. I know I have not commented in few posts but I have valid reasons. I will find time to comment in all back dated posts before you throw me out of the charts! Wakakakaka
ReplyDeleteWe must have lived in Japan in our past lives that's why we never get enough of it. Must go again and again! I suspect Thambee was a flower boy in Furana! Look at your happy face when found the flowers again! DejaVue! I hope to be able to visit those hills and hills of flower farms in Japan. So awesome la!!
#4-F1: What a good blessings that you guys had a kind friend to chauffeur you all to visit the farms! I understand about this remote areas where public transport is Zero! We need to hire a guide or rent cars but not easy la. Anay might end up inside the volcano instead! Muahahaha...
Delete#4-F2: I love all your green, green, grass of home photos! They look like beautiful post cards with your arrangement like that. The picturesque shots with little houses dotting on the greens looked so peaceful and tranquil. Good place for meditation and lead a Zen lifestyle. My regret is that I could not snap them like you in Japan as the bullet train was running too fast! My camera phone was like half asleep and could not capture. Now my wife's new Mini-DSLR can take the fastest moving object to become still. Hmmmm...can't wait to use this gadget.
Delete#4-F3: The colours look like rainbows growing on the fields of flowers! Anay is in love with the bunga-bunga cantek now! It would be lovely if Anay could bring Letchumy to go garden hopping like Thambee & Kamala! What a pity we don't have such fields in Malaysia which is not impossible to plant since we have same season all year round! Look at their yellow and orange flowers! They are Pom-Pom flowers which are easily grown in our climate too. The Lavender is so nice in purples but I think this plant needs cooler climates like Japan to survive.
Delete#4-F4: This photo is SUPERB! I didn't know Thambee can jump so HAIII!!! I mean so high! Wakakaka I thought you said you are fatty but my Thambee really jumped like a frog! I think you looked so slim now that's why you could leap or spring up so perfectly with such a colourful backdrop! Did your yellow pants rip apart after that? Muahahahaha Naughty Anay! Just kidding la, don't angry. Next time I must start jumping your signature poses too!
Delete#4-F5: Your Japanese friend visited that place every year and that was his 4th attempt. He is probably from another town or he just lived there since 4 years ago. If I were him, I would move and live inside the flower farm. Drink flower Tea and smell flowers daily! So heavenly.
Delete#4-F6: I believe the Lavender scents have good beneficial values for our health. The smell could calm and pacify one's soul hence the hyper tensions would be gone. I observed the photos and realised the farmers are very smart to plant different colours to make the fields attractive until it becomes an annual tourists attractions!
Delete#4-F7: I like the name of Tomita Melon House. It sounds so cartoon and fun. I have seen this fruit during Japanese Food Fairs at ISETAN but didn't observe its price. I know the Japanese are fond of melons and our Red Watermelons are their top favourites too. Maybe this one is prized melons for its taste and texture. Your closed up shots reminds me of the Cantaloupe Fruit which is very popular in US. So similar.
Delete#4-F8: OMG! Look at that ice creamssss! Yummilicious! Anay would eat 10 ice cream cones at one sitting until go bankrupt! 300 Yen per cone is like a Haagen Dazzz price here.. The colour is so rich until looked like fake plastics! How nice itf they could export them to Malaysia and sell them at vending machines! I would drown inside or put my mouth at the ice cream taps!
Delete#4-F9: Look at my smiling Thambee! You looked so happy like kena lottery or something! Sure your poses looked gaya and handsome! If David Beckham saw this, he might scream to see his replica! Wakakaka... Arigato Gozaimasu for sharing all the lovely photos!!!
DeleteWah, now it is TM's turn to do a commentary on each of SK's photos. TM must copy cat this SK jumping pose, ok? Then we can judge whose jumping pose is better.
DeleteThe winner gets........... more comments!! hehehe!
TM, next time please post individual comment ok? So that we can reply to your comment one by one.
DeleteAnay to copy SK pose? think Anay was the one that originated the pose . Can't recall. gotta dig up his old posts.
Delete#4-F1: God bless his friends. SK good to his friends and his friends good to him
Delete#4-F2: agree with you. SK can make this into postcard and send out to his readers as a "hand letters" if he wish
Delete#4-F3: ahem ahem...go third or forth round la to japan, Anay. Sure many place have not explore yet
Delete#4-F4: wakakakaka....darn it....u made me laugh out loud. the staffs looking at me one kind liao.
DeleteThink you cannot jump like thambee la. Letchumi can la
#4-F5: half an hour away...can la go annually. If like us go up Cameron at least two hours and pusing pousing beh tahan lo
Delete#4-F6: true. especially when used for massage., will feel very relaxed after that
Delete#4-F7 guess each country have something special. Maybe our red watermelon is very expensive in Japanese hence when they come here they like it. like a novelty
Delete#4-F8...i see not ice cream but I Scream. slurppppps
Delete#4-F9: David beckam? LOL....bet even he cant copy our SK's style leh.
Deletethe friend was not from Hokkaido but he met his wife who is from Hokkaido, that is maybe why he only has been to the flower fields since 4 years ago.. but it was so nice of him to make time on that Monday afternoon to drive us to the places..
Deleteof course i was very happy, indeed just looking at the beautiful and colorful flowers, one can easily get high spirited.. and you are right, they are so smart to manage the farm to attract tourists, afterall this place wouldn't be packed with people during the colder season where flowers won't grow.. what's more, having tried the very nice melon and also ice-cream, what can an afternoon be nicer than this??
David Beckham?? haha you must be kidding.. i am just a dollop of sesame shit compared to him lah..
Adoi Bananaz getting pretty drowszzzzzz NOT becoz of your detailed travelogue but the lavender is working wonders even by just looking at it..;),
ReplyDeletelol.....ommmm....ommmm....
Deletehmmm, that means this detailed travelogue also can make people drowsy?? :D
DeleteAiyoyo you are showing your belly button..haha
ReplyDeleteCannot see lah. What PC monitor are you using, the screen resolution so good until can see meh?
DeleteNot belly button, SK is showing off his 马甲线. Bananaz, if you don't know what is 马甲线, you can google to know more. Heheheh! Yannie is now in the training to build 马甲线. Yannie will show off her 马甲线 when it is time.
DeleteYannie இ googled 马甲线 and translation says 'Vest line' guess its aka ABS. Wow can't wait to see your 马甲线. Bananaz also got, instead of 6 its all in one hehe. Ah why not all of us train & build 马甲线 and then show off when time is right? Pity STP gotta take a longer time then.
Deletetsk, tsk, tsk, talking about STP behind his back. Luckily he is not here to read this.
Deletezmun2 இ Nothing to do with PC monitor or resolution just that Bananaz got gifted imaginary eyes hahaha
DeleteWould love STP to read this so that can umph him up trim down. Well if not STP can be our horny ooops *slip of the finger is no fault of the mind* honorary judge for the 'contest' and since SK is our sifu of html scripteaser can compile all the pixz of the ABS participants. On?
DeleteMy office pc is the 25 inch Samsung monitor.. Of course I could see SK's belly button plus all the tiny coarse hairs coming out from his pants like the blooming lavenders! Muahahahaha
DeleteAiyoyo... Bananaz's eyes so sharp one? I am few years younger than him only and yet no matter how I squint my eyes, I also cannot see what he saw... hahahaha... Yes, I think he has an imaginary mind only... ! hahahaa...
Deleteclaire, Bananaz's eyes sharp after his eyes surgery, but TM's eyes also sharp, he can see SK's belly hairs poking out from his pant like the blooming lavenders eh!
DeleteSalute you all.
Bananaz, I forgot to mention, you should google the image and not the definition alone.
Another tip for bananaz, if bananaz is still doing yoga. Plank pose is most effective exercise to build 马甲线. Just do 5 minutes a day.
Deletewakakaka...long time no laugh like this jor. ya wor, Yannie...SK not showing his belly button but showing his 6 packs...not beer. salute him for being so rajin to gym.
DeleteBabanaz rest enough jor. now his eyes sharp jor can see all, Claire
*Bananaz
DeletetQ Yannie for the tip on plank pose, Yeah have googled saw the impressive 马甲线 shapes. Reana & Small Meow, see with the mind and not the eyes haha. Aiyo TM lagi terror.
DeleteIf STP takes the challenge to build马甲线, he will take the longer time. If Meow takes the challenge to build马甲线, she will take the shorter time, as she is already slim and just need to do sit up for 100 times every night, she can definitely show off马甲线in a month time.
DeleteWhen the right time is here, everyone please jump like SK in picture #4B-F4 to show off马甲线, but please forget about showing the blooming black lavenders. Deal?
Babanaz... nice name but different to roll the tongue only! hahaha....
DeleteLooking at these pictures, it reminds me of this old song.. "Where have all the flowers gone?" Seems they are all in Japan.. apa colour pun ada.. so nice.. anyone been to Amsterdam? I heard the flowers there are also very spectacular.. tulips tulips... very colourful too!
So when is the right time right? Worst comes to the worst if Bananaz cant achieved the ABS in time got plan B can do Babanaz Split ;),
Delete'Don't ask SK what flower, he don't know one hee..hee.'.by Phong Hong..and don't ask Bananaz the colors, he don't know two..haa haa.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing again, i come to see those picture only~ XD
ReplyDeleteSimply love those flowers especially lavender. I won't miss taking pictures of flowers as I just love to admire its beauty.
ReplyDeleteMorning everyone! Coming by here so early this morning is kind of a "brightening up" day... Not just because of the colourful flowers but the blog owner's happy looks and his famous "Pose" has started off the day with a smile in my heart... :)
ReplyDeleteReally happy for you la... *envy* too... can go so many places with personal guide/friend to take you and your friends around... more meaningful this way...
Good morning Claire, time for lunch now! Where are you going and what are you eating?
DeleteHello Mun, today I took one pancake and two "Kok Chai" (dumplings) for lunch... this morning took wanton noodles with roasted porkie.. :p
DeleteSorry Sk.. we are digressing here, I know...
Ladies like to talk about food these days... :)
Oops, I hope SK won't mind but definitely no points for these comments.
Delete看见那么多花我会发花颠!
ReplyDelete因為冬天嘅關係我冇去富良野,不過都喺啲花同薰衣草,睇相就得啦。
