[Volume 8 Issue 11, #1819] |
looking at this brightly colorful photo, i can't believe that i am having all these things on my dish.. why did i say so?? it's because i was very picky and those were food that i wasn't even willing to touch when i was a kid (of course excludes the bacon), surprisingly i quite like eating them now!! when i was young i didn't even want to eat any veggie, until after high school only i started to accept them, i guess maybe as we grow older, our taste buds also changed.. though i cannot say i love veggie a lot (because i still prefer meat anyway), at least i like eating things like celery/ bitter gourd/ onions/ broccoli/ capsicum etc now.. also, i heard that it will be good if we can eat food of different colors in a day, because the nutrients appear in different forms and colors.. with that i believe the bottomline is that we shall have a balanced diet as well as having a moderate variety.. hence last weekend i made this very simple yet (seems to look) healthy and nutritious "secret recipe rice dish"~~ :p [ingredients] rice, veggie combo-pack from supermarket, streak bacon (cut into bits), fresh shrimp roe (ebiko), pinch of salt to taste [instructions] (1) cook rice with pinch of salt to taste (2) pan fry bacon bits (without oil) and blanch the veggie all together (3) stir fry the blanched veggie with a little oil from bacon for about 10 seconds (4) place everything onto a dish, sprinkle shrimp roe on rice and serve while hot |

ReplyDeleteShrimp roe? Very expensive wor...
DeleteI also disliked vegetables when small. Would not eat unless there was a rotan by the side. Hehehehehe!!!!
DeleteUmmmm...shrimp roe, what's the taste like? Don;t think I ever had that before.
DeleteSK won't think it is expensive ler... as long as he wanted to eat that. He definitely will get it...
DeleteWowwwwww!!!! He's so rich, is it?
Deleteerrr, for sure the shrimp roe are more expensive than your kampua.. but you have not eaten that before?? bring Melissa to a Japanese restaurant and order some ebiko, she would probably be happy to eat and you can try them!! taste like what?? poppy seed maybe?? :D
DeleteI love to bite it... yeap just like poppy seed. Wah poppy seed also you know... such a smart SK!
DeleteShrimp toe darn expensive leh. Cholesterol very high too if not mistaken
Deletehaha, don't misjudge me for not cooking or baking but i know what poppy seed is wokay?? bakery shop got a lot bread with poppy seed mah, haha!!
Deleteyalor quite expensive one box 2-3 spoons already RM9.90 (from Jusco).. high cholesterol?? but once in a while lah~~ :p
:D
DeleteAh ma!!! What is ebiko ah? Poppy seed? I know poppy flower, the black centre they use to make opium one.... Where you get the seeds from ah?
Deletedear ex-ET STP, kindly follow these links.. thank you :p
Deletehttps://www.google.com/#q=ebiko
https://www.google.com/#q=poppy+seeds
Haiyar!!! I clicked clicked clicked...but got nowhere. Not linked leh? :D :D :D
Deletei purposely do not want to make them so effortless, copy & paste into your browser address bar and then hit the enter key lah dei~~ :D
DeleteWakakakakakakaka!!! You call him ex-ET?? I thought you meant ex Extra Terrestrial !!!! Oh you mean English Teacher. LOL
DeleteHe won't be able to click your links so you need to paste the whole story here.
I would've thought as an ex-teacher, STP would appreciate not being spoon fed information
DeleteNow I love vegetables - can go without meat - not that healthy and getting too expensive.
ReplyDeleteI love those crispy lettuce - just eat it raw like that, so nice.
DeleteWahhhhh!!!! Got bacon some more. Also so very expensive...and soooo fat! You like meh? I super-duper love it! Hehehehehe!!!!!
DeleteWahhhhh!!!! Asparagus! I like that...but expensive. Baby corn, I hate the canned ones. Fresh ones, I like!
DeleteYour carrot's so red, looks like sliced chili...
DeleteSTP you really got my eyes big with your many comments!! Dei, you need to learn from Small Kucing to write Nenek Kebayan stories to get more marks and scores. It took me months to learn her whines and now Angeline has graduated & mastered too! LOL
DeleteTM,he is getting harder to spam here can't you see?
DeleteNot doing what you think I am doing, TM...just that everybody's blogs seem to be as dead as a doornail...no updates whatsoever so I just lepak here, borak...borak...pass the time. I'm sure SK doesn't mind....
Deleteyeah, everything so expensive in my dish, more expensive than your kampua!! haha.. KNS, i bought a pack of veggie that contains everything from Jusco, RM3.50 a packet and those are only half.. muahaha!! :D
Deleteyalor, this STP nowhere to go only come to spam in my blog~~ :(
Ahhhchooooo ahh choooo ..who mentioned my name? Mentang Mentang me tarak eh..
DeleteLol...last night I baru managed to trick the small kucing eat vegetables , meat n rice. Otherwise he would just eat the rice and ignore the vegetables and meat.
I guess as we grow older taste would change la.
Last time I hate petai. Now gila petai. Used to be beh tahan Japanese food but now ok a bit. At least can eat those that doesn't hv seaweed la. I dont like the smell n taste of the seaweed
TM mentioned you because that's a compliment to you lah, you sure very good in writing nenek kebayan stories, and everyone learns from you, haha..
Deleteyour J very special huh?? only likes plain rice and noodles, other kids sure love meat more and will leave the rice and noodles untouched, haha.. good lah, blend everything together and make them eat, so that cannot pick anything.. yeah, last time i don't eat veggie, and now even bitter gourd and celery also i love.. oh, seaweed nice lah, very high in iodine dei..
yup yup yup.
Deleteseaweed is good for you Meow.
See how good Japanese and Korean women looks even at old age. Must be all the seaweed they eaten lah.
Come come. You want to drink my MIREICA drink or not? :P
hehehe
Mak Glam implying that Meow is old and doesn't look good anymore, that's why she needs to eat more seaweed?? muahahaha.. just joking!! but i think fresh seaweed is better than those dried ones we usually can get from supermarket right??
DeleteMeow! I'm not implying anything tau! Hehehe
DeleteBut always good to find ways to take care of body right? Especially the holistic way. ;-)
maybe meow read this and she was mad, so doesn't want to come and comment~~ haha!! but you are right, prevention is always better than cure, we must start all these things since young.. like what Anay has been doing!!
Deleteevil Mak Glam...shall i hijack the phrase "no thank you" since you offer me Mierica.
DeleteUnless of course if someone wanna sponsor me birdnest drink la. That one taste nice and also good for the skin leh. Not only that. It's also good for lung ler.
WHen I was pregnant, I had a lot of birdnest. That time i thought drink that one, the baby skin will be putih .
But later on my god sis told me not only for the baby fair skin la. Actually it's for the baby lung development. Said birdnest good for the lung.
I feel it's true enough leh coz when J was a baby, he seldom have cough and not much of health problems. My god sis three kids also all easy baby . Not much of lung related health problem.
But as for fair skin...nah...doesnt works...J still have dark skin .LOL
eih, MIERICA itu good stuff you know?? hahaha.. wow, this Meow ate a lot of bird's nest when she was pregnant?? but why would you want to have a baby putih?? haha.. anyway, i've heard people eat bird's nest when they have very bad cough, after a couple of portion the cough is healed.. hmmmm, okay lah, J not dark at all just nice lah his skin tone.. :)
DeleteMeow so nice la... eat birdsnest
DeleteI last time when pregnant, only make sure I eat soya products to get a baby with nice skin. ;)
Cannot afford lor to eat bridnest :P
Yayaya Mireica is good stuff.
Come come take a few sachets. Good for you. hehehe
Wah! meow wanna look for Bird Nest sponsor to look young>>?? You can approach LO HONG KA company to get free supply of bird's saliva. If you don't want the free Mireica sachets, you can give me!! i am getting older and would sapu any seaweed or eat any supplements to look immortal.
DeleteAnay,
Deleteyou sure ah.
Aiyoh... I just "dumped" some to other people. Haih. I should've read your comment first and keep for you instead.
Yerrrrr this Lina didn't even think of Anay! Sobs! Never mind, next round give me the sachet samples and I will buy them if good. Just like METHODS cleansers, I found them good without even getting any samples but paid from my pockets. Now I have so many bottles at home. I simply love the natural smell.
DeleteTime to eat and live healthy now.
What's with the Chinese newspaper underneath? Just throw away after eating? No need to wipe the table and all that? Brilliant, you! So clever! Hehehehehe!!!!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....got rice kah? I guess that's what they call fusion... Hehehehehe!!!!
DeleteOMG! You still have sharp eyes STP. i didn't even notice the Chinese Newspapers!! SK loves to read horror news and rape news when eating to send his tummy turning!!! Wakakakaka
DeleteBesides the newspaper, I even notice that he use polystryene plate wor. He said he prepared this meal, of course must be from his home right? How come no plate or bowl geh? why use polystryene?
DeleteI guess 五彩繽紛 really makes him sweat in the kitchen while preparing it. Use newspaper underneath is to avoid his dinner table get dirty stain and he probably malas to wash his plate too.
DeleteYahor!!!! Polystyrene!!! Not environment-friendly!!! The town council is imposing a ban here - all food sellers cannot use anymore and I thought we're wayyyyy behind and other places have done it long ago. KL still using that kah? Aiyorrrrr!!!!
DeleteSTP, many people still using it lor. But how come SK used in the house? That's very strange.
DeleteSTP sure have very sharp eyes, because he eats kampua and piansip everyday!! errr, with rice and you called that fusion?? muahahaha.. then many people are having fusion food every meal in their days~~
Deletemana ada polystyrene plate?? i even bring my own container to go tabao, do you think i will use polystyrene plates at home?? that is a plate that comes free with Tops washing powder, haha!! it's not plastic but those usual ceramic plates we use at home dei~~
Oh really? then is my fault. It looks like polystyrene to me...hehehe
DeletePHAI SEH YA
DeleteAh bog very environment friendly person leh. Will not kill the earth.
DeleteEh top detergent gv plate ah? I tak nampak pun. Kiasu mode jo. Bought Daia for the plate. Lol...but quality nitvthat good. Still the darlie toothpaste punya better
Wei..your plate very small leh. Melimpah keluar la all the food. How to sudu later?
yalah, if party then maybe will be using polystyrene plates lah, but at home no lah, somemore hot dishes cannot use else they will melt dei.. but the photo does looks like one, haha!!
Deleteerrr, long time ago one lah that free plate.. next time if i see any freebies i let you know lah.. oh yeah, i love those plates, bowls, mugs and glasses by Darlie, very nice and good.. wakakakaka, you want to say i eat a lot is it?? but free plate where got big one?? :D
who would recognise freebies plates la dei. Your fault la SK. LOL
DeleteIf Queen Mary ke Noritake ke people one glance know its not polystyrene. LOL
hahaha, but then not as bad as having thought that's a polystyrene plate right?? hahaha~~
Deletealamak....opps....oh my kucing.......Queen Mary and Noritake...bau pun aku belum bau leh....My house usually use those freebies plates ler. If wanna use those Noritake...habis la.....kena lock up in the safe deposit box dei
Deletei also have not heard of Queen Mary and Noritake lah, i very ulu one.. plates all freebies from groceries, haha!! :D
DeleteI also takde Queen Mary and Noritake at home. I'm not that posh! LOL
DeleteBut buy Queen Mary in UK or Noritake in Japan, especially at their factory sale, can be great deals. Of course much much cheaper than the few thousand RM you gotta pay for a set here.
I settle for plates bought at hotels clearance sale enough la. When a hotel sells their stuff, it can be at rock bottom prices. Can get bone china wares for really really cheap price. Some of them still look and feel brand new!
DeleteI have that, and free plates also la at home. But pity lah, the sabun basuh I buy and use don't give out free plates. My toothpaste brand also don't give out free plates. Maybe I should change brand to get all this instead, eh? Barulah good value for money! hehehe
Aiyo you guys have tiny eyes to even guess that SK was using polystyrene plates! i didn't even look at them but I know SK is a eco-friendly health and clean freak who would not eat with those plates.
DeleteWow! Such tempting dish and I haven't even eaten my brunch. I just fried pineapple rice for my meal. Good to enjoy good food. I supposed I will be eating lots of good food when I get to UK soon.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
Enjoy your trip to UK, Wenn!
DeleteEat lotsa nice British food!
Don't eat pineapple fried rice in UK. Hehehe
LOL.. WENNakam wanna eat Nasi goreng nenas in UK? oh no, she must eat their famous Fish & Chips in London.
DeleteThanks Lina and TM! Yes, I love fish and chips! No Chinese food as it's very expensive. I will all the 'ang mo' food.
DeleteTake care, all my friends and I will be back real soon..
yeah, the fried rice is probably more expensive than the fish and chips.. wennakam for sure must eat more "ang moh" food when she is in UK.. :)
DeleteGood morning SK and everyone....
ReplyDeleteSame here, i do not take veggie when i was young... But now got take, but not every veggie, certain veggie i don't take....
DeleteHave a great day ahead...
Deletei think i eat most of the veggie, especially those crunchy ones, not too fancy those leafy ones..
DeleteGood Morning!!! Goodness!!! My jaws dropped in disbelief at STP's many comments. I must buy TOTO tomorrow!!!! STP please give me your lucky numbers to buy like your car plate number, birth date or even waist size for 6/52!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess everyone disliked vegies when they were young as most vegies tasted bitter for kid's liking. After having lived in US, I realised our Asian ways of cooking vegies didn't please the kids in general. The Americans loved to boil broccoli or cauliflower until very soft before smearing with lots of melted cheese. This is really heavenly for kids or even adults!
I always enjoy eating lots of vegetables at steamboat buffets! i get to dip them into all sorts of chilly sauces to make them taste yummier! Otherwise I would avoid them too.
DeleteThat day I went to that shabu-shabu place, I just make sure I eat enough veges for the meal.
DeleteI went all out on meat instead.
Veges not really value for money.
Meat is! MUAHAHAHA
Oh yes I agree with Mummy Lina. That place has the best meat for shabu-shabu. The vegies are cheap to compare. I want to go there again when SK wanna belanja Anay.
DeleteI got few friends who love to go to Europe.
DeleteBut come back always complain Chinese food even fried rice so expensive there.
They cannot live without rice! LOL
errr, i think you cannot buy 6/52 with STP's waist measurement lah, sure exceeded the number range!! probably 6/58 i guess?? muahahaha..
Deletei actually like the veggie raw or just slightly cooked, i hate those that cooked till soggy soft and then soaked in gravy.. i prefer them fresh and crispy and crunchy and juicy.. don't overcook my veggie dei..
LOL at Lina's friends!! Chinese food so expensive in Europe!! muahahahaha~~ :D
Many Malaysian tourists failed to do as Romans do when in Rome. They still wanna eat Chinese or Malaysian food in London. I would try the local food there no matter how horrible and tasteless it might be. That's the only way to learn new things and culture la.
DeleteThat is one nice, very colourful meal!
ReplyDeleteLina approves.
Lina also want to try!
Can?
And the alas?
Perefectly suited with my style. Eco friendly. hehehe
yeah, almost oil-less too.. i think if Mak Glam lazy to cook, just buy two packets of the veggie from Jusco (consist of all the above) and some ebiko.. and dinner is ready in 10minutes~~ :D
DeleteI buy whole packet better. :P
DeleteThen just munch them raw! Muahaha
errr, carrot and celery can munch them raw lah, but then asparagus and baby corn nice ke to munch raw??
DeleteBaby corn kan la...
DeleteAnd green sayur, you can blend them raw and turn into smoothie. Good nutritious way for toothless people! No need to cook.
By the way, I know someone who practices eating only raw food,SK. :-)
Raw veges, nuts, fruits etc. Clean eating.
blend into smoothies sure nice lah.. but that someone you know only eat raw things?? errr, very clean and healthy, but then could be a bit boring lah i would say, haha~~
DeleteYeah, and that someone is an IronMan. You know those who competed in 4 (or is it 6)km swim, then cycle 100+ kilometres and then proceeded to run a full marathon, all in one day! I think he's one of the fastest Malaysian competitors for IronMan too.
Deleteahh.....had been missing for quite sometimes! Thks for the opening message which popped out welcoming me. ^_^
ReplyDeletelove the colourful dishes on your plate
Deletei agreed with u. our tastebuds eventually changed according to age..... my son too change his fav food from time to time
DeleteHi there where have you been.
Deletewhere have mNhL been?? if we are not seeing here again then probably we may have to lodge a police report, hahaha~~
Deleteyeah, taste buds changed and we appreciate more food as we grow up :)
LOL....not that serious until need police report~ Well, been chasing some K drama until neglected my blog. I'm quite bad in multi-tasking... haha...
Deletewell, it does looks healthy when we have different type of colour food to eat everyday~
ReplyDeleteyeah, it seems to look healthy and nutritious huh?? hahaha, all natural colors no coloring wokay?? :p
DeleteNice colours. The most heavenly probably are the bacon bits. Yum!
ReplyDeletei would say the most heavenly would be the ebiko.. mixed into the rice and i think i don't need the other veggies, probably i won't say so to the bacon bits, haha!! :D
DeleteOnce I saw the photo, I knew it you've prepared yourself a very nutritious meal.
ReplyDeleteI reckon it is a very colourful and healthy meal. But why no gravy one? Will it a bit too dry?
DeleteAs for me I'll make egg gravy over this colourful meal, Ii'm sure kids will like it very much. With the egg gravy definitely make your meal more appealing and appetizing too. When I think of it, I feel like cooking this tomorrow night. Thanks for great idea SK!
DeleteOh it was just my opinion. Maybe you like to eat this way is also fine as long as you have all the nutrients there. That is very good already.
Deleteerrr, egg gravy ah?? how to make that?? like the one in your chicken katsu don?? but i lazy to make that lah, actually the rice also not dry, i am okay with that (i am not kids that need to soak rice in gravy or soup mah, hehe).. furthermore with the ebiko blending in, the "pop pop pop" actually kind of moisturize the rice, hahahaha!! :D
Deletemaybe the Taiping Cooking Queen should demonstrate to us the enhanced version of this dish one day, sure very delicious i supposed.. :)
All you need is water, beaten eggs and some cornflour for thickening the gravy. soy sauce and pepper to taste. That's it.. You don't have to flooded your rice platter, some gravy would make your dish looks nicer. Something like wan tan hor...
Deleteoh, so easy kah?? but i think probably i will make that into a soup separately.. even better right?? and looks like there are more things to eat, muahahahaha~~ :D
DeleteCOMPLETE MEAL
DeleteLettuce: High in Vit A, Calcium, Vit c, Iron and Magnesium
ReplyDeleteCelery: High in Vit A, Calcium, Vit C, Magnesium and Potassium
Asparagus: High in Iron, Vit C & A
Carrot: Vit A, Calcium, Vit C, Vit B
Baby corn: Rich in Sosium, Vit B and it contains Carbs too
Ebiko: Crunchy and its saltiness makes the meal process more interesting while you're munching every single bite.
Bacon: You will have some protein and fats from here.
Carrot must get Australia one, those from China don't have crunchy texture and the red-orangey color is not so natural too.
DeleteLuckily my son loves to eat greens. I train them from small. I prepare all kinds of vegetable porridge to them. Chopped finely until they can't event taste what is it. As long as the porridge taste good, they "hantam" everything. Especially Calvin, he is a boy (usually boys don't love greens) but he loves to eat celery, parsley, fresh salad and onions.
DeleteEven wolfberries - kei zi, both my kids eat them too. As their mummy we must always find many ways to prepare them healthy and yet creative meal for them to enjoy their food everyday. Once a while I will chopped a clove of garlic in their porridge too, it really goes very well with mince meat and carrot porridge. Sprinkle some parlsley as garnishing.
DeleteLast but not not least, I turn ABC soup into ABC porridge for them. Ingredients: Tomatoes, potatoes, carrots and big onions.
DeleteHehehe, even adults also feel like having a bowl of that hot ABC porridge.
Deletewah, this Taiping Cooking Queen really terror lah, she listed down all the nutrients of every single ingredients above!! fuyoh, i feel inferior already, haha..
Deleteactually i bought those combo-pack which consist of all the above veggie from supermarket, cannot choose also lah.. and yes, i know this trick from almost every mother, blend the vege and make the kids eat without realizing them, haha~~ :D
In order not to have D-score then we should read your post betul betul mar. Then in order to master Nenek Kebayan story telling like Meow, need to do some extra reading and combine with my personal experiences and knowledge to spam kaw kaw...so boleh tahan tak?
DeleteBut not always liddat lar. Sometimes I just type and write what I feel from my heart, like no one cares... hahaha. Please bear with me and don't get bored ok!
Deletewow, this Taiping Cooking Queen has mastered the spamming skills already.. woi, TM and Small Kucing gotta be careful she is overtaking you with her nenek kebayan stories already.. aiyoh, why will i get bored with you?? i love comments, any type, and the longer the better~~ :D
DeleteWoi, don't so loud lar... if really does, I'm still very far behind. I don't like to keep repeating the facts all the time. I like to try different ways of spamming hehehe...
Deleteyou will never know what's going to happen right?? hehehe.. wow, you really Spam Master now, different ways of spamming?? this is such "deep" to me lah~~ can share?? :p
DeleteI read line by line how this Taiping Cooking Queen prepared all her porridge and ABC soups etc. I really applaud and salute her for sharing so many clever tips!
DeleteWah~~~~~
ReplyDeleteYou eat a lot!!! (Maybe because the rice make it look like such a big dish!)
Grow older which getting more concern on health also, right?
DeleteWhen I was kid my mom already train us to eat whatever she cook, especially vege…if refuse to eat, my mom would be like "don't want to eat? then don't need to eat, don't need to eat!" Then chased us out from the house!!! Hahaha, my siblings and I got trained to be no picky on food!!! =]
DeleteBut that only happens in my family la! Most people I met outside, they're quite picky on food, barely eat somethings like these healthy and nutritions!!! They can choose to have only eggs with rice for every dinner lo, no vege, no meat at all!!! >.<!!!
Deletehahaha a lot meh?? okay lah, just one bowl of rice and most are veggie mah.. or maybe you are a small eater?? good that you were brought up to be not picky, so meaning you have very balanced and healthy diet since young, which is a good thing.. your mum best lah, you see nowadays, most of the kids around also very picky one..
DeleteGood day there SK!
ReplyDeleteWow, interesting, what a colorful post today! ;)
Eh is that a newspaper below the bowl? You do that all the time when eating?
No good leh.. I know many people do that cause it's cheap and convenient, can use to wrap the food waste then throw straight away, fast and clean! But newspaper contains certain elements which are dirty to us, so it's advisable not to spread the newspaper like that whenever we are eating.
Plus don't you think eating with newspaper on the table creates a smell? The newspaper smell, hmm I don't like at all.
Hmm, you sure eat quite healthily huh? Good! Look at the photo, got green, red, white, orange and yellow! I believe colorful food looks more appetizing, and the people eating that also will be cheerful and happy!
DeleteAnd to make the food more interesting you actually added bacon! So that it's not that plain with just greens, right? At least some meat which provides carbs and fats. All the ingredients you put are my favorite! Erm except for the ebiko la, cause I don't fancy that, just feel a bit gerli :p
DeleteEven when I go eat sushi, I'll remove the ebiko and eat the rice only, haha xD Very weird and 'waste', I know :p
Actually it's important to eat greens everyday! I know it's normal for people to be choosy and omit those greens in their daily diet, cause most greens are boring and tasteless. But come to think of it, we need that to keep us healthy and also for smoother bowel movements! So I am training my son to love greens as much as his mummy does!
DeleteAnd this recipe of yours is super easy! I am sure anyone can cook! ;)
DeleteIt's oil-less also, me like!!
Okay, thanks for sharing this colorful photo! I need my beauty sleep now, good night everyone!!
hehehehe, actually true also lah, not that good to place newspaper on the table.. if dirty still can clean up the table mah.. i shall remember this, or maybe use other kinds of cleaner paper, finished makan then can straight away tabao and throw.. haha!!
Deleteaiyoh, you don't eat ebiko at all?? i am okay with that woh, but i not really dare to eat those bigger ones like salmon roe lah, those really quite geli.. eih, 5 types of colors and i can say it's quite good, simple to prefer and i think everyone can eat this lah.. last time i don't eat veggie at all, but now give me and i just eat, good for bowel movements like you say, haha~~
I think it was because of your perception towards vege changed?
ReplyDeletei really do not know what caused the change but yeah you could be right probably.. :)
DeleteAs we grow older we realize its importance, so our mind will sort of tell us to nibble on these vegetables.
ReplyDeletei think it was because a few of us were sharing during the uni time, so if i paid for the groceries and i don't eat the veggie, kind of rugi right?? so i just told myself to eat, muahahahaha :D
DeleteI too, eat plenty of vegetables every day...one whole plate. But it is not because I love them...it is because I know I have to eat them. Yucks! :p
ReplyDeletehahaha, so you are indirectly complaining that your wife doesn't cook you nice veggie dishes?? :p
DeleteWhoa, when I see food post, I am always turned on and excited.. haha.. I think you seldom blog about food rite.. I mean, home cooked food.. Not food that you eat outside la..
ReplyDeleteErmm, that portion is too much for 1 person, no? Or you share it with your gf? Lei yat tam, ngor yat tam like that?
DeleteI didn't know if boil rice need to add a pinch of salt, haha.. I think if you serve to me this dish, I will wallop the rice, ebiko and bacon only, haha.. Will fry an additional egg using the bacon oil too..
DeleteAbout the newspaper that you use to "pou" your dish, well I have no problem with that if I'm in the office, but I don't do it at home. Becoz all the aunties in my office do that all the time.. When we eat in the pantry, 1st thing is they will "pou" the whole damn table with newspaper, then only they will eat..
DeleteThere was one time somebody didnt "pou" newspaper on the table first, he got nagged.. They told him if there's no newspaper underneath, then the table will be dirty, and "sik dou chau wai hai" (makan merata rata tempat)... Sigh.. Aunties.....
yeah, last time i blogged about food very frequently but now no lah, bored with that already.. and somemore, i rarely cook at home, so not really a lot of food post from me now..
Deleteaiyoh, that's just normal portion lah, maybe it's the close up or you are actually a small eater.. haha, each one a plate lah why need to "nei yat dam, ngor yat dam"?? haha!! errr, not necessarily need to add salt one lah, but if add salt probably will be nicer to go with the ebiko i guess.. or the rice if a bit flavored then also more appetizing mah.. BTW, you don't eat veggie one ah?? tsk tsk tsk.. seldom see ladies don't eat veggie one woh..
errr, actually newspaper not that good lah, the ink can smudge and chemicals all over.. if need to place anything beneath, probably use plain papers lah, but that would be not environmentally friendly.. if dirtied the table, then just clean up lor.. :)
Muahahahahaha... Tell me just what does not turn on this lady who gets easily turned by men's perfumes and now food. In short she gets turned on by everything that Ah Boy blogs nowadays la.
DeleteNow back to look at the food posted by Ah Boy! It made me turned on and hungry too! I always close my eyes and eat all sinful food happily.
Always thought that eat 5 types of food in different colours everyday is difficult, but now after saw your photo, it seem like not too bad huh...? :)
ReplyDeleteyeah, i just bought a combo-pack of veggie from the supermarket that contains all the veggie above, simple and convenient..
DeleteErrmmm... how come no nenek kebayan makan stories yet from Anay and the Kucing here.
ReplyDeleteOr did I miss anything? LOL
Different colours means different nutrient is covered, right SK?
A simple way to ensure all balanced meal.
I should follow your example la.
Always stupid on all these "technical" nutrition velues one.
hehehe
p.s. today I lazy go buy lunch so I am eating a banana. So healthy also, right? :P
yeah, i think Anay and Kucing have got their own strategy lah.. just wait until the last minute only they spam with nenek kebayan stories like there's no tomorrow, so that when the chart comes out the next day, they will give everyone a shock!! :D
Deleteerrr, i guess so, different colors means different nutrients, that's why it's good to eat things of different colors in every meal.. oh, banana for lunch only?? enough ke?? i will get hungry very soon like that~~
People with diebetes better say no to bananas. But for normal person, banana and also papaya is the best fruit to eat. It is rich and high in nutrients which body needs.
Deletei think diabetes better stay away from all kinds of fruits, because fruits are high in sucrose, best is to have veggie.. but i think any kind of fruits also good lah, like i always say, variety is the key, we do not want to stick to a specific food else we cannot get more nutrients.. :)
DeleteHmm correct, intake and try all kinds of fruits and veges. As long as we take it moderately.
Deleteyeah, i learned to be not picky over these years, give me anything and i probably will happily eat.. afterall, most of the time i just eat for the sake to fill up my stomach so that i don't feel hungry :)
Deletewhy talk about diabetes under my comment. No syiok for me to see la!
DeleteAS if tell me what I eat not good. :(
No fun la to get my comment dissected for the purpose of not getting D-score or whatever score deducted.
Anyway, banana is good. For me. :)
I don't care about other people! LOL
aiyah, why so serious?? we didn't really mean it lah.. banana is good, nuts is good, neslo is good.. Mak Glam sure have very healthy and nutritious breakfast everyday :)
DeleteJust saying la.
DeleteHahaha
No fun seeing -ve when it's better to say +ve. :-)
I where got healthy breakfast. Drink neslo wor... So much sugar content! Diabetics, don't follow! LOL
we must be open and happy to be told be it positive and negative mah, haha.. eih, we cannot cut away sugar totally in our diet lah, we still need them to provide energy.. i think if you have low blood sugar, it's also a problem..
DeleteHealthy Meal, SK!! Nowadays I am also taking more vegetables than meat.. going for vegetarian economical rice too.. but nowadays not so economical la... each meal cost around RM4-5... no meat.. just vege.. but as long as sedap, the price is worth it...
ReplyDeleteyalor, now those so called economical rice never economical anymore lah.. probably more expensive than McD already, haha!! and the vegetarian ones can be even more expensive than non-vegetarian, which i find quite not acceptable..
DeleteI also became health conscious lately and often ate mixed rice of just 2 vegetables with rice @ RM4.00. I need those fibers to flush out my toxic and iron away my fats. I need to get lighter before I climb Mount Emei.
Deletetotally yummy. quite healthy too! bacon is good to oil our joints:P
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, but only once in a while!! haha, most of the time i don't eat like that~~ :D
Delete嘩好好味喔!我最中意食菜同飲湯。
ReplyDelete我仲以為你唔鍾意食嘢添!! :p
DeleteFirst of all, you are just like my JJ, JJ also always cover the dining table with old newspaper. He scared his 3 ladies dirty his dining table, and he needs to wipe after meal.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thumbs up to you, SK. Colourful veggies and you cooked everything yourself. So healthy and yummy. Bravo to you again.
Why cannot wipe the table after the meals? I thought placing old newspapers would not make the table so nice settings.
