16.11.2012 | 咖啡或茶

[Volume 7 Issue 11, #1600]
some people must have their daily cup of coffee or pot of tea, else they will feel uneasy for the whole day.. i am totally the opposite, i am never a fans of coffee or tea, but i would be happier if you offer my fizzy drinks or fruit juice.. also i think i am very sensitive to caffeine, for example after late afternoon i can never touch coffee or tea, or else i will not be able to sleep at night, worse still i may stay awake looking at the ceiling till dawn!! not that i am exaggerating, but i have experienced that many times hence i make such a deduction.. that's why the recently popular bubble milk tea can hardly earn my money, hehe~~

  1. Indeed, tea keeps me awake but coffee has no such effect however. There are tests that show that coffee is good for the heart. Everything in moderation, of course.

    7. How I wish my office pantry has that coffee maker. Sure would make my day happier and energetic. This will create a productive staff, you know? But I think I'll need to cut down those coffee / tea break soon, in my new office :( My boss doesn't like us munching, and those extra umh! He'll probably makes it so strict, only plain water is allowed, bluek!

  2. Bubble tea? Those "bubbles", the rubber-like balls contain cancer causing agents!!! Avoid those Taiwan desserts...or have the red beans or the black jelly...don't ask for those balls!

    2. I tried once. Personally, I think they're not even nice. I would go for our own ang tao cendol anytime. Dunno why so many people love it so much. And so expensive too!!!! The Taiwanese franchise owners very happy, of course!

      Delete
    3. Yeah, I think I enjoy the cendol Yan & Yvonne treated me while in Taiping more than those bubble teas! :-D

    4. I never tried any bubble tea franchise before. I still think they are expensive! And unhealthy, of course! Are those bubble tea sold in pasar malam at RM2.50 per cup considered a franchise? Hehehe, I actually like bubble tea, but soon after learning they do more damage to our body, I stop having them. Not completely stop, I buy from pasar malam vendor once in a blue moon. I'm such a cheapo, remember?

    5. What is wrong with the Bubble Milk Tea? It is being enjoyed by millions of people world wide. It is not as unhealthy as those chain smokers!!!!!!!

  5. No problem for Bananaz with coffee & tea. Those days used to have a cuppa coffee before bed coz 'trained' during childhood days but now slower consumption with less than 3 cups per day. Will have cham during my meals outside and only selected coffee shops as cham is a tricky drink to mix for those not experienced *head hand* coffee maker .

    1. Wah, bananaz has 2 cups of coffee daily and considered that a slower consumption? :p

I only allow myself a cup each day and rarely have 2 cups unless I'm drop dead sleepy!

    2. Meow, Taiping famous coffee brand is called Antong, I like their black coffee powder very much! I prefer the coarse-ly grinded coffee bean to instant 3 in 1 :)

Antong is an old brand. The grandson is managing the factory now. We used to hang out together during our teens. But he never offered any free coffee, bluek! I can do free marketing as annay said, I'm a good mamasan, kakaka!

  14. Uiks...am surprised that you cannot take caffein. I would have thought you study so much would have kept drinking more coffee to keep awake.

I am one of those who have to have my daily dose of Kopi O or Nescafe. Even when pregnant will curi curi drink a cupn of those once r twice a week. I know it's not good la but like addicted already. If don't drink its like not syok.

But i would drink that in the morning only. For afternoon and late evning, i would drink chinese tea. Even at restaurant, I would prefer order chinese tea than fizzy drink. Most probably coz have the thought that chinese tea help with the oily stuffs whereas if fizzy drink will make tummy full very fast but will become hungry very fast

Not good la drink too much fizzy drink

  24. 我可以接受茶同咖啡,但系汽水我就少掂囉,糖分同热量都高,饮咗仲会肚胀胀满肚气猛打嗝,如果冇选择,情愿饮清水解渴囉!:)

  25. Coffee has no effect on me, I can have a glass of kopi peng at 10pm and doze off easily at 11pm. LOL! But I dare not take teh peng at such hours, will get insomnia.

Nowadays this auntie is havin hard time to continue sleeping if wakes up at 2 or 3 am for toilet trip. Will only get back to zzz after an hour or two. I wonder is it because of hormone changed? I no drink coffee or tea after office hour.

    1. Ah Hua, hormone imbalance will cause insomnia and sleep deprived. I suggest you take Evening Primrose Oil. It will ease your mid night wake up sleep.
