有位舊同事轉行賣保險, 噚日見面, 佢傳授咗啲(通常啲經紀都唔會主動話你知嘅)保險知識過我, 等我唔好任由保險公司設下嗰啲蚊滋咁細, 文法曲折離奇, 誓要令人混淆嘅種種苛刻條款而蒙蔽..
  • 要索償就一定要拎出正本保單, 冇保單就一切免談.. 所以記得要將保單收好呀, 而且仲要畀你個受益人知道收喺邊喎..
  • 購買卅六種疾病保險者, 請記得如果患病, 必須能夠捱過三十日先可以要求賠償.. 如果咁唔好彩三十日之內瓜咗, 唔好意思, 就係咁先..
  • 某些儲蓄保險話明期滿你會得到一筆數目, 而且若干年後就可以停止供款.. 當你停止供款之後, 其實保險公司係由你所累積嘅保險金度扣錢還供款.. 所以期滿之後, 你所得嘅會比你想像中少咗一大忽!!
保險業競爭激烈, 各式各樣個人保險搞到大家花多眼亂.. 好彩嘅你會遇到有良知有專業操守嘅經紀, 唔好彩嘅你就會遇到旦求hit target而不擇手段嘅經紀.. 你嘅保險經紀有冇主動同你分享行內知識, 有冇繼續保持聯絡呢??
met up with an ex-colleague of mine who is now doing insurance business, and of course he told me some insurance knowledge that most agents would not take the initiative to tell.. and i am sure many of us would not really bother to read those fine prints on your policies, so grammatically and vocabularily twisted that you will most probably be confused by the terms and conditions..
  • if you want to lodge a claim, you must be able to produce the original copy of your insurance policy, failing to do that you will not be entertained.. so it's a must that you keep your policies safely and let your beneficiary aware of where they are kept..
  • if you are insured on the 36 critical illness, please be reminded that you have to suffer at least 30 days from the inception of the illness before you can make any claims.. if *touch wood* you left this earth within 30 days, then that's the end of the story..
  • there are those endowment insurance saying you are able to get an amount of money after the tenure, and a number of years after inception you will not need to pay premium anymore.. least of us actually know that, the premium for the following years are paid from the money you earned from the endowment.. so when the tenure is completed, you will only get an amount which is a lot less than what you've been expecting..
it's rather competitive for the insurance business nowadays, and hence you see hundreds of types of different insurance available to you.. if you are lucky, you will have a professional agent who do the best for you.. if you are not, you will just end up spending money on a "product" from an agent who only cares to hit his/her sales target.. did your agent ever share with you any insider knowledge on their industry, and still keeping in touch??

  1. The 2nd rule is a bit absurd? Must suffer for 30 days. If the family is too poor to continue to pay after the breadwinner passed away, the money will go to the insurance company?

    Wat if the family need the $$$ for operations?

    In case u don't know, 80% of ppl won't get the money regardless of cases.

    Insurance is crap.

  2. Many agent themselves failed to look in details what the proposed. Actually everything is detailed in black and white in the policy. As a customer, we must also take time to read what was offered to us or what is in our policy. There are different categories for different needs. You can buy every coverage but then can one affort that? You buy what you need for the different stages of your life.
    Like Kelvin's comment above, the hospitalization bill payment can come from the hospital card policy not from the Critical illness part, this happen when we fail to understand what we have bought..... It works both ways, the agent needs to know what the customer need and the customer must also understand what he is buying.
    Insurance is something like a parachute, if you jumped out of the plane without it then you cannot have it anymore.

  3. Many people get sucked in qwithout knowing the pitfalls. Sad to say that many insurance agents are even ignorant of the products they offer, since hitting sales targets and the pursuit of the million dollar roundtable is their main aim, let alone offering real help to their clients.

  7. hmm from my experience hor, its better to buy from those agent who r, trustworthy, experienced, and will really work as an insurance agent for as long as possible. coz in many cases, they quit half way. then its quite difficult to get someone to follow up for u liao.

  8. to my opinion, buy a basis insurance for minimum coverage and protection to our my family and ourselves...don't be greedy about the high return, coz it will caused end up with disappointment.

  14. So far my agent is quite good and follow-up and until now we still keep in touch. Wa c wa, last time (it was like 9 years back) my agent drove local car, then he changed to Altis and now Mercedes...hou geng ar!!!

  15. my insurance agent is my ex manager.. we ( of shall i say, me ) din really keep in touch.. biasalah.. avoiding her calls..
    not till last year when i was admitted due to the gastric issue... so now just on and off answer her call lo...:P

    Buy is ok but dont too much!
    i think the rules number #2 is not good!

    i have bought few... one is my brother in law... quite good service... and some times sponsor me go to shanghai play as well.

    i have bought another one from a AxA...from an agent i really want to scold her kao kao here... after buy... disappear and not service me at ALL!

  20. 我在很小的时候,妈妈为我买了一份“储蓄保险”给日后我上大学读书用的!谁知道当我能上大学时,他们才告诉我们只可以拿两千块,哇哇哇。。。。两千块?怎么能读一个学士班呢??叫他吃粪吧!简直骗钱!!大家不要再被保险骗了!!!我要的福利都没拿到,还说保你一生!!??更何况我们供了十多年!气死人了!!!!!

  23. 保險經紀偶爾都會聯絡我的,call我的原因就是要我加大保額咯。天下有10只烏鴉,通常9只都是黑,呵呵~~

    yes, i find that absurd too!! at first i thought he referred to the 30 days after inception of policy, but it's not after i clarified again!!

    yes, most of the time the customer is confused on what they want, and the agents will keep on recommending those they think are good, and we customers get even more confused.. and nope, i don't think most of us read the T&C fine prints right?? and i doubt the agents will do so too.. and we all know, the agents just ask us to sign here and there, without having time to reconsider and read in details.. and that's it, done and you're covered!!

    yes, you have your point here.. that's why i categorised them into two groups.. one that really serves their customers, and another one that are mainly concern about their sales target.. and nope, how do you still keep in touch with them after that??

    well, we can't categorised all of them together.. i still believe there are some professional and responsible agents out there.. but really, we must be clear what we wanted to know and ask everything we could..

    the problem is, we don't go and look for agents but it the other way round where they look for us and keep bugging us.. so in this case, how can we know if they are trustworthy or not?? they sure act very professional and attentive in order to get your business right?? it's the after sales service and how they understand your needs..

    i think there is no more such things as "basic" insurance already, now because of competitive market, everything has gone hybrid.. and what do agents sell?? of course those that they can earn more commissions right?? so for layman like us, we do not know anything..

    對囉, 我已經有很多份保險了, 現在那些保險配套層出不窮, 很多時候你會覺得以前買的都不好, 所以經紀游說之下, 又蠢蠢欲動了..

    保險公司是永遠都賺錢的!! 呢看他們的條款都是偏向自己的利益啊, 我們如果真的有甚麼事發生, 真的很難拿到賠償的.. 不過我們還是要買保險, 每個月給錢給到手軟, 唉!!

    i now have endowment (that was bought my my sis for me long long time ago), medical, life and PA.. i think that's a lot sufficient already.. and recently bought another one for savings investment.. wow, i have so many policies with me!!

  34. Insurance is a must as it formed a major part of a person's financial planning which we cannot live without. Its a matter of the correct policies and a good advisor. Think the two most basic and important policy is the H&S (Hospital & Surgical) and life insurance. Protection is a key word for a basic insurance but not returns. Those who have surplu$ money may consider on other investment or endowment policies etc.

  37. Rule of thumb.. do not think you will earn from insurans..

    I bought insuran also. But perceive it as a lost already..
    Well, at least can minus on my income tax.

    Giving the same money to income tax or insurance.. which is your choice?

    So.. But little lo..

    yes, i totally agree with your point there!! insurance is part of our planning and i think it's a must to get covered.. and on whether there is return, well don't really expect there's a return unless it's some investment policies.. if we are getting medical or life insurance, the return is actually a peace of mind, agree?? :)

    well of course i won't think i can make money from insurance, unless that's some kind of investment policies.. getting medical and life insurance is for protecting ourselves, for a peace of mind, and most importantly minimise trouble to other people if really *touch wood* anything happen to us.. i always think it's nowadays a necessity to get an insurance to get us covered.. :)

  41. [SK]:只有死咗正可以真真正正享受到份保單嘅所有好處。目的喺死咗能流芳百世,唔喺拖衰家累人累物,連葬禮都要後人或者家人出錢搞惦。

    雖知道,山墳、靈位、棺材、打齋、火葬、靈堂、教堂、南無佬、神父等等等等,費用可以比美擺酒結婚。就算簡簡單單到要十幾千以上。
