i am staying in a 3-storey terrace and my house is just beside the road, i can see the main road of this residential area just beside me when i look out of the window.. as such, my room is always quite noisy, and i always can hear noices from outside, but am used to it already..

[the most irritating noise] i would like to disclaim i am not pin-pointing or religion discriminating first.. but many times during 5-6 in the wee morning, the mosque nearby is always broadcasting prayers, as loud as it could, and i totally think it's a disruption to my sweet dreams.. and not only one but two, two mosques in the same residential area are competing as if they want to win another.. i'm like WTH, why must they have to broadcast the prayers loud?? it's actually very inconsiderate i say..

[the most scary noise] i am staying in a residential area where snatch robbery always happen.. sometimes i will hear a motorcycle runs by in a "vrrroooom" and immediately i hear the victims shouting for help, and even worse some would cry out loud because of the fright.. i do feel scary everytime i happened to hear such noise, but there's really nothing i can do to help.. while feeling symphathy to the victims, i am more angry with the robber, how i wish they can be caught and sentenced with serious punishments!!

[the most merry noise] the happiest noise is for doubt to hear the schoolbus fetching my two little nephews home from their kindergarten.. the kids will always get down the bus, shouting "i'm home, i'm home!!" while running towards home.. how naive kids always are, sometimes even we adults are spread with their happiness.. :)

  4. I'm already up before the prayer starts every morning, except weekends of course. So it isn't really a big problem for me. Maybe you should try that. Haha.

  17. I hear noises from neighbours which can be unpleasant at times. I wish homes would be more spaced out here so that there is less noise pollution.

    Mei Teng:
errr, are you talking about condo and terrace?? well, how much space do you expect?? unless you are rich enough to get a bungalow maybe, then i would say you can get a peace of mind from your neighbours making unpleasant noise.. haha :)

    khengsiong:

    manglish:
hmmm, it's not that you don't hear the noise, it's just that you're so used to it and can sleep so soundly that you are not aware of the noise.. hmmm, the situation is getting better now, i heard there are volunteery patrols at night.. hmmm, yeah, kids are especially fun to play with at this kindergarten age, but sometimes can be very naughty till you cannot bear with them also.. :)

    squall:

yeah, unless i really can sleep very soundly else i would think those noises are really irritating and inconsiderate at all!! but anyway, i've been staying here for more than 15 years, already get used to it.. but not to the second type of noise, those are just very scary and i really hate them.. lastly, i also always do that when i was a kid, it was always a good thing to get back home after school.. hahaha!!

    KY:
wow, maybe somebody complained about it before?? at least they shows some respect to others and try to be considerate.. hehe, but i think most of the time you're sleeping dead already, never even bother what will happen.. haha :D

    kc:

    donna:
haiz, to them is motivation but to us is irritation.. i mean if they are really sincere to pray in the early morning, i don't think by using this kind of "force" is necessary right?? anywa, i'm used to it afterall being in the same place for more than 15 years, hahaha :D

    Twilight Zone:
i have stayed in this place for more than 15 years, so do you think i am not used to it already?? haha.. only occassionally that i cannot sleep well that i will feel irritated by the noise, or else i normally can sleep like a dead log without realising the prayers!! unless Arumugam plays Kuch Kuch Hota Hai loud, then i'm sure excited to wake up to dance~~ :D

    Ayie:
hmmm, as if you have heard those islamic prayers before?? haha.. well, i have already get used to it as i've been staying there for more than 15 years.. nothing much i can do, but just to accept that as part of life.. :p

  46. well not really..hehe but in my place in the Phils we're almost neighbors with the church. Sometimes when I don't get to attend mass I'll just go to the roofdeck and listen there! hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ayie:
do churches broadcast their prayers?? i don't think so.. i supposed everyone just attended the mass and say the prayers in heart.. unlike the muslims, they must kind of loud so that Allah could hear.. :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. not really broadcast but they have speakers coz catholic churches there are filled up all the way outside so for people to hear

huh, i see.. and for the islamic mosque, i understand from someone that the broadcast is to remind people to remember to pray and get them motivated.. but it's just get too inconsiderate for the non-muslims..
