Some Thoughts On Travelling (Part 1 of 2)
Map of The World

one of my biggest dreams is to be able to travel around the world and been to as many places as i could in my life.. okay, i am being realistic here to say "as many as" rather than "all the" places, because i think it is actually impossible for one to be able to go to every single place on earth.. even if one could, i do not think he or she has seen much of the place.. i am one who likes to cover as many as possible the places or spots of a city if i go on a trip, as if i will never go back again.. of course, i will make sure i have at least left my footprints there and not just through the windows of the vehicles.. i hate that and this explains why i definitely prefer DIY trips than the always-rushing group package tours.. BTW, this is not any "pre-post" to my vacation, because i am not going anywhere!! boohoohoo~~ :(

here are the places that i kind of group under my own "definition", haha!! what about you?? :p
CategoryPlaces
places i have never thought of going but i actually have beenNepal, India (New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur), Dubai
places i wish i could go but still have not stepped foot onTibet, Scandinavian Europe, Eastern Europe, Greece, Turkey, Maldives, Pulau Redang, Pulau Perhentian and many many more :p
places i have never been to and seems quite optional to me at the meantimeAmerica, Canada, Australia, Korea
this is the first part of a two-parts post, you may click here to read the second part..

    1. Didn't know that you find going to Korea, America, Canada and Australia are optional to you. I like these countries actually. I have been to Korea and Australia. I have yet to go America and Canada. I have got the first sip today, yohoo! I'll be back.

    2. My jin jin is very lazy to do travelling homework, therefore he always opts for travelling in group package. I don't mind at all, as long as he takes me along. Muahahha!

    3. Yea, may be SK is really going to somewhere again... Hehe.

Year end, many people planning to go holidays, especially family with kids, since its a long school holidays, plus haze is here, so many opted to get out of Msia to breath some fresh air.
But, economy is so bad now, RM has drop, so, might not be a good choice to go travel now also, hmm, dilemma....

    4. SK, you should add in another category, "Places I have been and I still want to re-visit" .

For this category, I will put Taiwan, HongKong, Korea and Australia.

      Delete
    5. "Places that I never thought of going but I have been" - my list is Vietnam and Indonesia.

      Delete
    6. "Places that I wish I could but still have not stepped foot on" - my list is Europe and Japan.

      Delete
    7. "Places I have never been but seems quite optional to me" - I can't think of any at the moment.

    8. Yes, agree with Yannie, should have "Places I have been and I still want to re-visit" .

For this category, I will put HongKong, Turkey, Canada.

      HK because of shopping

Turkey and Canada because the scenery is very beautiful and different from SG

      Delete
    9. "Places that I wish I could visit but still have not stepped foot on" - I would put Vietnam, Cambodia, India and Japan.

Vietnam, Cambodia and India is because I would like to try some Asian countries that have different cultures from SG

Japan is more for the shopping and food

      Delete
    10. "Place I have not stepped foot on and optional to me" - I would put Europe and China.

Europe because it is too far and expensive for me.

China because I don't really like their culture after I visited Beijing in 2004.

But Turkey and Canada also quite far and the flight takes almost more than 20 hours, I think I would prefer somewhere nearer because nowadays I cannot stand such a long flight, I will feel very restless inside the plane for too long

    11. One place that seems quite interesting to me is Africa but a bit afraid that the basic amenities are insufficient

    12. I read all the places these gals wanna have fun made me laugh. You gals sounded so excited lah, so why wait any longer. Just google AA and book now like 12 months ahead. I do that.

I have been going to China many times and still going & going until I have covered all the Buddhist Mountains and sacred sites. Beijing is not that bad and should not be the reason you should avoid China. They have very nice places as China is a very-very-very huge country! Every province is like a country itself with slightly different culture, language slangs and dialects to confuse you. When my Mandarin expert wife had problems to speak with the locals in Anhui, I was kinda shocked that I could understand their very twisted Mandarin slangs slightly to get to our destinations. Oh well, all the travels in China has been shocking and priceless openers to know where our ancestors came from. Nothing will stop me from exploring more and that I need more $$. Any donors for me??

    13. "Places that I never thought of going but I have been" >>> Manila..!!
I would not give priorities to visit Australia, New Zealand or Africa unless it is another unplanned trip like Manila. It was my wife's long work stint there that I thought I should take advantage of the free hotel and stayed a week there! Well, it was fun and eye opener for me to share them in my blog.

My wife will be going to Melbourne soon and again Taipei. I am still toying with these ideas to go as the hotel is free and paid for.

    14. "Places that I wish I could but still have not stepped foot on" - I think that would be South America and Eastern Europe! I have only visited England and that was a happy trip meeting the craziest friends there. England is actually ranked the best place in Europe. How true is that I am not sure? Maybe they counted the tourist arrivals and plane landings at Heathrow Airport.

    15. I think with SK's habit and behaviour...already planned everything to the dot so once after he step foot at that particular place, he will make sure he have been and experienced everything there is that interests him. After that no need to go anymore

China is too big to "see" in a trip lah, Anay. Same as Europe. At least have to break up into few trips baru can cover all. Donation ah...hmm...aiyer...everyday also got Pak Arab wanna donate money to you. why you tarak reply their e-mail? If you had replied their e-mail, you would have had enough money not only to travel the world once...but a few round the world trip also can liao and feel the poor people in the slum for a whole year leh

hahaha you should tag along and go with Letchumi la. Otherwise she will be kacau by all the lalats there la. With Incredible Hulk next to her, those lalat dare not come and kacau her leh.

eh...I thought you aim to retire to USA ...hahaha....sure one of these days you will arrive there punya leh

  2. Everybody loves to travel the whole wide world while they are still alive. I always dreamt to become a pilot like my uncle who flew with SIA until he died at young age. I realised his job was fun at the beginning and he had too much until the flying hours gave him stress and heart attack. So I better work in office, save money and travel bit by bit.

I think SK has travelled more than most bloggers considering your uncle age. I had never seen India and Arab countries yet. That one is Sherman's hometown so he had to go back there.

I think you also missed out Taiwan in your bucket list. It is quite interesting place with much spoken Hokkien and Mandarin to suit your tongue. Korea is definitely a good choice for food, fun and nice shopping.

    1. Anay, I love Taiwan too. So many nice food and nice night markets. I would love travelling to places that allow me to shop till I drop, my list is Taiwan, Bangkok, HongKong and Korea.

    2. We seem to share much similarities in the choices for vacations. I have been to Taiwan 5-6 times and Letchumy suggested going during CNY. i thought I should visit my old K-Pop gang in Seoul instead for a reunion after 20 years!!! Those guys must be old looking like fermented Kim Chi now... Muahahahaha

Taiwan is fun for easy & cheap shopping besides the variety of exotic food. I never forget their Chou Tau Foo that could smell from 2 kilometres away!

    3. everyone may dream but how many have the time and financially healthy enough to do it? well...i think maybe 1 in every 100?

when we are young...we have the healthy and energy to travel but then tarak money. When middle age, got money, got health but tarak time. When old lia...got time got money but tarak energy liao. haiz...

Taiwan...hmmm....SK ngum Taiwan meh? he doesnt looks like those who goes like to go Taiwan leh.

  3. This is a lengthy post??? You didn't even have any buttons for us to click this time!

I am proud (or rather ashamed) to declare that like you, I have not been to Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian too hahaha! But that 2 is kind of in my optional list right now. Canada and Australia, I do want to go. Swap these two countries from each category around.

    1. So happened, I have been to Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian before. SK wants to go there, easy job isn't it? Just go and buy a sexy swimming trunks then leave for it.

    2. I have only been to Pulau Tioman, Pulau Langkawi, Pulau Ketam and I was born in Pulau Pinang!! Now my hometown has been ranked the 4th best place to live in this world. I wanna retire and die there if possible after eating Assam Laksa as my last meals. Muahahahaha

    3. Yannie, I wanna tell you a secret about SK but you must not tell him I said so.

***Psstttt.....he had never been to Taiping, Alor Star and many local places yet. He so high pigeon eyed flier!!! LOL

      Delete
    4. nevermind la SK...I also tak pernah pigi pulau redang and pulau perhentian. This can easily rectify la this year or early next year. With the currency like sxxx now....better to travel internally rather than go overseas.

apa you cakap ah Anay...in your blog you mentioned wanna live in Chicago but here you say wanna retire to Pulau Pinang. You have split body kungfu ka that you tarak teach us?

  4. i would like to go Japan, Taiwan, Australia in these coming years...My travelling mode is 'ON' but with our currency so small...feel like not worth to spend it now.

  5. DIY trip is of course better as you can plan where you want to go and the duration to stay there, but have to do homework, whereby if you follow group tour, they will sure bring you to those shops, ask you to buy this, this, this...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree!! I hate tours sometimes due to the same reasons of taking us to visit factories where their sales personnel would pressure you to buy everything. The tour guides who would pocket side income commissions would also get mad if his bus tourists bought nothing. The worst place for such factories was in China and South Korea. I had no choice but to join tour to South Korea as I wanted to go skiing besides only Apple Holidays could bring the Malaysians to see the DMZ border. We were given the chance to use the telescopes to view North Korea. It was really a tension place I would never forget.

Sometimes when I hired local tour guides and driver to bring me around, they also begged me to allow them to bring me to at least 2 factories as it was a requirement by their local governments otherwise their tourism license might be revoked. That happened in Xian, Phuket and Bali. I am not sure whether it was mere coincidence or fake stories! KNN

      Delete
    2. yikes...really ah...got such thing as requirement by local government to bring tourist to factories to buy stuffs ka? I wonder if malaysian government does that too.

I know is that there is a big difference between tourist price and the local price la that people pay when wanna enter certain places like zoo, menara KL and etc.

  6. Is this your pre for your next trip destination?? Hahaha! You put US as the optional one, for me I like will put it as first, the first reason is they have lots of airshows there, second apple very cheap there, not the fruit apple of course and makeup stuffs very cheap there (of course those I like one) and most of my very good friends are there, hehe!

    4. I always wished I had migrated to US and never returned home. However we cannot fight with fate sometimes and I have no regrets. That big country is a very lovely place to live if one knows exactly where! I hardly ate apples there but instead I ate farms of strawberries and grapes & all berries!

I had always wanted to visit Nepal too but now the earthquake has flattened their small country to almost ground Zero. The rituals of animal killings were so barbaric, senseless and made my guts puke! I had to change my choice to visit there....as I could imagine the bad karmic frequencies lingering the air. Sorry to say that.

    5. would be interested to hear your story on "fate" and how come you tarak migrate to US, Anay. Saw in your blog that you wished can retired to Chicago but now you commente wanna retire to Pulau Pinang. Is it because of your dad?

LOL...if you are in Chicago, if and when we go US can go find you for free makan and accomodation lor...some more got free "local " tour guide *muka tembok china mode*

    6. It is funny that there are people who do not like to travel much or at all. My uncle is one who loathes the idea of traveling but rather spend his hours nightly inside the coffee shops to drink cheap beers with his buddies. To him, that's simple and easy life with free laughter. That's how subjective one could take his life's directions.

So Spain very obvious is my dream place to visit, then London because I want to see the stoneage then Australia the Sydney opera house, and last but not least Germany and Grace, Germany is to see those attractive churchs and Grace is to see the ancient building where the Greek myth come from....

    2. The last one is the optional place, Philippines, Russia (but I do wish to go Moscow to see the st basil's cathedral), the eastern countries, Mexico and South Africa...

    3. The next time if I visit United Kingdom, I would visit Barcelona in Spain as it has been ranked the most interesting place that suits my liking. I am also eyeing to visit Greece (Santorini and Athens) and Monte Carlo.

I would visit Santorini only if I only have one place to pick in Europe! Their whole resort town is really like a postcard. Damn beautiful and shiok la.

    4. Yah, but a sad news today that they said the Athens museum ticket price will be increasing from 12 euro to 52 euro, that's so crazy...but I read the comments, people said they would still visit it, because it's the trademark there, so no choice

He had never visited Taiping yet Sherman Khan rode camels in Dubai & slept inside harems like Arabian Sheikhs and swam in the murky slums in Chennai. He had never visited Sabah and Sarawak too! That 2 places would never be inside his bucket list lah. At least i have visited East Malaysia several times and need to cover Kelantan & Terengganu to complete my 1-Malaysia Cuti Cuti. Wakakaka

    1. I can understand you. It is true that it is less hassle to cuti cuti nearby when the children are still young. No point taking them going far far, as they can't remember the places well too. I took April to Phuket, Bandung and Hong Kong when she was only 3 years old. but she couldn't even remember a single thing there. Might as well wait till they are much bigger, and they learn to know the countries other than their own country.

And I learn that we should not set our preconceived notion of where to travel to others also.

  16. I never been into traveling before but I made some tours recently and since then, traveling overseas has become one of my bucket list.. I want to explore other side of the world and see their culture and explore their churches too LOL... well, unfortunately, it very costly for me at this moment and Philippines , after all, has 7108 islands to explore and that will take forever for me hahaha but who knows hehehe..
I want to travel alone.. i saw some interesting tour packages online but I don't think I have the courage to that yet .... lucky you you were able to travel other countries already

  17. I agreed with everyone here! Everybody definitely loves to travel ,whether near or far. It's always refreshing to go to a new place and see something new and pleasant. Of course, I am not refering to war-torn places which can endangered our life but there still might be some folks who loves to visit, you never knows.

Travelling relaxes our mind, recharge our body and increase our knowledge of the world and of life, else we will always stuck in the same little corner of our world. Most importantly, it helps to wind us down instead of just work and family commitments.

It doesn't matter where you go as long as it helps to relax yourself. There are even some local places in Malaysia which I never been to and when I first went there, it was so nice!! For example, I was at Sg Lembing and Kuantan three years ago and that was my first time visiting there. I love the serenity of the little town so much!!

Of course, it's even better if we go overseas and learn about other people's culture and meet different people. That would be very nice! Everything seems so new at other countries which includes the climate, the food, the people, the buildings especially historical and etc. This enough to educate us as well as triggered our happy thoughts.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah, I do agreed following tour packages can be stressful! There was one time where they bring us to a temple in Thailand and we only have 30 mins there. The surrounding was so big and we just ended up taking pictures, relief ourselves since the toilets are clean there and just walk around for a short while.

On the other hand, for small family like mine, it's better to follow the tour as everything are pre-arranged and we don't have to worry about the places to visit. Just make sure we slept well, manage our personal time well including relieving ourselves before the journey ..,.... muahahahaha... especially the kids. Have suffice sleep and wake up early to enjoy the breakfast provided and take a short break before hopping onto the tour bus.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Chris, your arrangement is just same as my husband. My husband too thinks the same way as you. He said less hassle travelling in tour package. Single like SK is no problem to go on his own plan when travelling. It is different arrangement for single and family like us.

      Delete
    2. If my kids are grown up then no problem la, but then I am too lazy to check out and plan the itineraries.... I need to find people to do it...muahahaha

      Delete
  19. I also thought this is the appetiser for your year-end trip! hahaha... OK la, maybe you can plan somewhere near like what I did last year when it's too rush to book a trip. I went to Cameron Highlands last year after almost a decade and stayed there for a night. It was so nice and refreshing especially I never stayed in CH before.

The kids also loves it and it was a family trip, no rush, just go where we wanted. There were so much changes there and it's so nice to re-visit the place again! Another trip I went to recently, which you also aware, is a staycation in Desaru. Just relax, dip in the pool, eat good food and rest. Well, you can always booked a flight to Pulau Perhention and stay a nice 3 days and 2 nights there. It's not too late!

    ReplyDelete
  20. DIY trips are great provided there are mostly adults there or there are someone who knew the place very well where he/she can bring us around. Else, with mostly adults, we can study and pre-arrange where we wanted to go first but there's still some risks, if small kids are around especially on safety. If it's all adults, then it's not too bad if there's any emergency situations.

I been to DIY trips with my friends when I was single and it was nice and also save some money. We can take our own sweet time visiting places we wanted and eat the stuffs we like. On the other hand, the group of friends must also be nice to each other and be patience if one of two of them spent a little more time on a certain activity like shopping.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Of course, I would like to go around the world including cruising over all the oceans as well as landing on Antarctica, or standing on the peak of Mount Everest and etc. But like what you said, it's not possible to visit all the places unless you are like some folks who drop their jobs and go travel all year round. You can also work in an aircraft, not necessary steward or stewardess but some other helpers where once the planes landed, can take opportunity to visit the country within limited time.

    ReplyDelete
  22. If you asked me, regardless if I ever visited the place before, my dream vacation would be ...
    1. the Mediterranean in Europe like France and Italy where I can enjoy the wine and delicious culinary under the cooling climate and beautiful scenery, like a farm of grapvine... muahahahha....

    2. Japan, Korea, especially the countryside where I can enjoy the views of their villages and houses, especially covered in thick snow. The best is enjoy the sashimi and sushi of the fresh fishes and other sea produces just caught from the sea. Enjoy the food , the climate and beautiful views there!

    3. Tasmania and NZ - I never been there and some how found these places very relaxing. Love the cool climate there and the fruits and the views again! Yes, I love sight-seeing ... I always look around when I am in other countries instead of checking my FB or surf net... There are better things to do than surfing... Just drop the phone and tablets away.

    4. USA - No matter what, at least visit once in a lifetime and enjoy the long flight, doesn't matter if you are in NY or San Francisco.

    5. Scotland - I am always fascinated with the loch ness tale and I even check out the web cam to spy on the monster, when I was younger. And, I simply love that beautiful castle there and the loch ness lake. And, not forgetting other cities there!

Ok.. the list go on and on and I'm glad I have planned my year end trip!

    3. Wow! Wow! Yeh! Yeh! Yannie gonna travel lagi everywhere. So packed holidays you have dei. I am jeles lah.

This Kurage hamsap dei, only layan Yannie in Singapore. When Anay went there, the sotong swam back to Selat Johor pula. Hey, Yannie will go to Merlion City with her family lah not to mention her Mr Muscle Man Jin Jin. Have you seen his topless photo with muscles bigger than Arnold's?? Wakakaka

Oh well, jokes aside, you should belanja her to eat the best Japanese food in Singapore. I think good ones are at Holland Village and Takashimaya! ***stress****chris****LOL***** Treat the JAMY family well okay. SK will give you high marks.
I am sure you can show her the Sands Casino and the Gardens! What else to see? I will be there soon.

    4. I think Kurage and Anay can go travel together. I like your dream destinations like conquering the South Mediterranean areas in Europe. l was told that North Africa is very nice besides Southern France and Italy where one can sip the top notch wine and sink their teeth into the exotic culinary. The whole place is very green, relaxing with the resort hotels doting their coastlines. My friend who married a Club Med boss told me that among all the many countries her husband had been posted to under the Club Med's chain, they found the Southern France to be the best place on earth!!! People are warm and friendly while the cost of living is cheaper there. That was like Hearing Is believing to me!!

I am also a fanatic traveler for Japan and South Korea, especially the countryside too! I am more interested to visit all their very famous historical sites like the many Japanese castles, Samurai mansions, Hot Springs and traditional homes with paper sliding doors! Ooh! So heavenly nice when you slowly walk in the cool climate.

I have to visit South Korea once again as I went there at their peak Winter for our ski trip and iced fishing! It was covered with damn thick snow everywhere! I must go again and visit more places on my own Free & Easy. I have a gang of Korean friends there in Seoul who could be my chauffeur. What am I waiting for??

These holiday destinations of Tasmania and New Zealand are not in my top priority lists due to subjective reasons being their currency and lack of ancient historical sites to lure me. Yes I would love to see some scenery but this New Zealand has got miles and miles of mountains and sheeps! They have 9 million sheep and only 3 million people. Oh My God, you see white Kambings everywhere! Muahahaha

I have to bring my smartphones along everywhere and not forgetting my iPad too! We normally have to use iPads to check all the saved maps and transportation details to move around the foreign countries when we traveled. Without them, how to travel. I bet you will agree when you start traveling on your own. As for my smartphone, I have to be in contact with my office in case of emergencies only as I am the only one who has access to many things in the company. Besides that, I have to be in touch with my very aged father.

Wow!! You look forward to long haul flights?? You sounded crazy but i agree that just one experience in our lifetime is a must. So you are absolutely right that you need to travel towards United States directions. Otherwise you can opt for longer routes like South America where you need to hop planes with several very long transits!! Fulamak! It might take you 3 days to reach Panama Canal so that Kurage can swim across this famous channel.

I am also always fascinated with the Scottish tales of their famed legends of loch ness monsters! You are cute and funny to check out the web cam to spy on the monster!! I never knew this sorta thing existed till today. Why don't you give us the links?? The whole Scotland is very peacefully clean with good frequency until the Aurora Borealis could appear over the years!!

This is definitely in my bucket list to see the rays of beautiful shining coloured lights from the skies that often appeared in Iceland, Norway and the Northern Hemisphere countries. This one, nobody could plan or predict their appearances at all. It depends solely on our luck to see it.

    5. i surrender...LOL....a thesis ya, Anay. LOL

Southern France. Wei...why go with Kurage? WHy not go with SK. After all SK is now learning french leh. At least over there if sesat SK can help talk a few french sentence but whether what he said is correct or not nasib lah :p

Sure southern france cost of living low? But what about the crime rate?

  23. Oh... I hope to visit Boracay too in the Philipines and almost plan to go there this year but the plan was shelved, maybe next time. Anyway, since I gotta pay for the trip for my family, I can't afford going too far away, probably somewhere nearby in SEA. Planning to visit Bangkok, Bali, Lombok, Danang, Ha long Bay and of course, Boracay from now onwards. Need to plan... hahahaha

    2. Why this Chris so stingy one aaah? Earn so much Sing dollars monthly and eat Japanese food daily like a Samurai warlord but say cannot afford to travel. Life is short and just spend your money lah. We cannot bring it with us. Better swipe with credit cards for travels and if you die, no need to pay lah. Holidays done! Muahahaha

  24. On the local front, I have been to many places in the Peninsula but never fly to Sabah and Sarawak yet, hope to make a trip someday. In Malaysia, like you, I also hope to go to Perhentian and even Redang. I been to Tioman but not these two places. And, Kelantan and Terengganu too! hahaha...

    2. Hoii Mr. Kurage...how could you declare that you have visited many local places in the Peninsular when you have not stepped foot at any pulau and Kelantan & Terengganu too! You are same as me la but at least I have been to Sabah and Sarawak several times. Nice place and nice food there but you should avoid Sibu la. It is a Good Bye Cruel World town as the saying goes. Muahahaha

  25. Short trips and to nearby countries such as Malaysia I don't mind DIY tours but to further places and places with different languages I would prefer package tours as I am afraid I may get lost in another country and I would prefer transport and restaurants arrangements all done for me

    1. If we have friends who are good in doing homework of the places we are travelling, then I don't mind joining the friends and travelling on our own plan. But, I find tour package is less hassle and I don't need to worry about food, lodging and transport,so I don't mind touch and go tour package.

    2. Libby has been going to JB several times and should try to spend weekends in Melaka which is the top choice for Singaporeans. You can see all their SIN cars with yellow and white number plates all over this Parameswara town on weekends and public holidays. I am actually pleased to welcome the Singaporean tourists who appreciate our local retreats and leave the places very clean unlike the mainlanders who have made headlines everywhere!! So scary people.

    3. Hee hee, I been to Melaka I think twice before, first time in 2002 and second time in 2011, I always stay at Equatorial Hotel which gave me good memories, Melaka also a good idea for weekend getaway

  26. It's my wish too, that is to travel to as many places as possible. I try to visit at least some places every year. I actually started to travel in year 2009. I had been to some Asean and European countries. I still prefer to travel far rather than near.

    3. Yes!!! It is true that WENN is the most well traveled blogger, just like SK Thambee. They both covered different continents and directions. Wenn travels so frequent and very far because her good karma! Time for me to do homework now and gain merits like Wenn. Anyone wants me to wash his car for free??

  27. But I still prefer to join the tour as I don't hv the time to do research. So far, I'm satisfied with places that I had visited. No doubt we didn't actually spend much time on a single place.

    1. I remembered your recent Japan trip that covered so many towns and cities within a week. I was stunned but you still covered areas I have yet to visit. This is very suitable for busy Tai-Tais like WENNder Lady. LOL

When we follow tours, it could be pricey but the hotels and food served are always good or excellent depending on the packages paid for. On top of that, you feel pampered and need not take all the public transports like I did. I also had to walk many kilometers daily but I enjoyed it because I could see how their local folks lived. When I visited Beijing in 2002, I followed a tour and regretted later when I found out how enjoyable to travel the Free & Easy Way..... a lot of money was being saved too. I had the wrong glamorous impression of Beijing due to the packaged tour trip which didn't allow me the opportunity to try their high speed trains and public buses.

    2. Traveling can actually heal our soul and make us happy. I don't mind spending all my hard earned money on traveling. We can still earn, right?

    3. I always dislike going on tours as their schedules are always tight and their time given for each place is too short. Sometimes it took us 1 hour to reach a place but they gave us 20 minutes to look see before hurrying off to other places!

So far I even had weekend staycations style at nearby resort hotels in KL itself. We stayed at Saujana Resort and also Cyberlodge Hotels. I really felt like I was in another state with the ambiance and setting all well done up.

    1. I agree with your statement that SK's biggest dream is also mine. Although I claimed that I have flown around the world once, it did not cover so many countries like SK. I sat on the plane which flew from Malaysia to Singapore, Hong Kong, United States, London and back to Malaysia. That is one circle around the world.

  32. Your number one category, quite interesting. I wish to go Dubai, that tallest building in the world is really very attractive. But I heard there's nothing much you can do there...
If you ask me to write in this category, mine probably is USA. Never thought I had the chance to go one, cause super far, and kinda expensive ma. But I did in 2012 =)

Category 2, wah this category, for me is endless, haha! I wish to go Greece, Switzerland, Africa, Finland and etc etc....

Category 3, hmm, been to all 4, and in my list, can't think of any at the moment, heheh!

  33. Good morning SK

wah...year end coming...you thinking of taking one whole month off in December to realise your dream of traveling around the world ah.

i have already travelled to most of the places in this world and other world jor....and it's called arm chair traveling . Yup I travel safe in my home through all the books. Kakakaka....

okay oka ...i cabut lari first before kena hentam by you for being loyar buruk...

    ciao!

  34. I like the way you use the word "As many as". Yea agree with you that it is impossible that we will ever travel "all over the world" in our lifetime even if we were to be super rich and have the time and money to travel.

Going to all the places that you have desired to see can be counted as good already.

As for D.I.Y. trip...guess...like previously debated, it depends on individual la. Some preferred tour and they choose the tour that covers the areas that they wanted to go in a certain country and some more adventurous like you would preferred D.I.Y trip . Own self plan and own self responsible for everything.

I find that generations folks would like to go with tour instead of D.I.Y. Probably biasa already . Like my parents in law. No need to think much. just pay money...got people already arrange all the tour and also bought the insurance etc, No need to think or worry much. Just pack baju then go follow whatever iternery there is. Can say been there done that.

Younger Generation preferred D.I.Y. Guess D.I.Y trip will sometimes brings you to some unexpected places around the world kot.

From blogg9ing, i saw quite a few adventurous female bloggers D.I.Y. their trips...like Diana...Meitzeu....for me they are very brave and have a good head for planning.they managed to save a lot of cost and yet managed to go all the places that they wanted.

  35. when you write and say that you like to cover as many spot of a city as you can whenever you go to that city as you will probably never go there again, it reminds me of Anay. This is because...if say cover as many spot...i think ANay can claim as number 1 la.

when i read his blog post about visiting the cemetaries....and the slums...oh my kucing...how many of us will go those places when we go for a trip? I mean...okay...maybe go those tugu tugu memorial places la but ...of the cemeteries wor....the rich man chinese cemetary really gives me the creeps when i read that in his blog post.

If given a chance...would you go to those places in one of your D.I.Y trips?

  36. The nepal, Dubai and India trip...i remember ommenting in those. Yeah...you have mentioned that the company sent you there for work purposes. Well, it certainly kira as a "paid" and unexpected trip lor. You still young. can adventure la.

eh...i see something missing here...mana Hong Kong. I thought Hong kong is also one of the trip that your company sent you to work there.

Oh maybe that one is classified as expected trip so you tarak listed it here kot?

I guess life truly brings us something unexpected each time gua.

listed as unexpected here is mostly asian country wor.

  37. I see you have quite a list of places that you wanna go but have not step foot on

hahaha...Malaysia own ground also not yet step foot ya...redang, pulau perhentian.....errrr...pulau pangkor sudah go before hor? Me too have not been to Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian. Yea...better go now before the pollution gets worse.

pulau redang kind had to go coz year end cannot go due to the monsoon season. sure banjir gila over at the east coast side...come to think of it....even Perlis and perak also banjir liao when year end...adui....climate changes ah

Tibet ya....for just a trip of for religious purposes? Got relative that went to tibet. They said when go to religious places...be ware of your shoes. There are people who will steal shoes. .

Scandinavia Europe...Eastern Europe...hmm...guess with the current malaysian Currency...gotta wait a few more years baru can go lo....otherwise really have to cabut all the hair on the head just to plan the budget leh

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maldives....a lovely place leh....so many friends went there before. Guess that one no need much research kot? a lot of information online. That is the place to go rest and relax. Rejuvenate.

Scandinavia, greece turkey..eastern europe are more to experience their culture instead of relaxing la...at least that is what it felt for me la

    ReplyDelete
  39. Australia and Korea...hmm....those are the popularv tourist destinations la. You are always looking for something unique and special ...guess it's not one of those place that is in your list for the moment gua.

But how come tarak think of going to USA? Thought go there like claire berkebun and pick apples . syok jugak. Can bring Fing Fing go LA for the show business...hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  40. aiyak...this year end never plan to go anywhere ka? due to work matter or due to the currency?

if due to the currency...local places also not bad mah. Can go KK climb the mountain.or go cat city....

apart from Pulau redang and pulau perhentian..where else you have not been locally? can try cuti cuti malaysia lor. One whole year work hard. Have to have time to relax leh.

Or are you rushing to do your Christmas Gifts plants in a jar business

eh....tell u hor...now the in-trend is to do terranium. Not only for Cactuc and succulents. But also for air plants.

With the recent haze...many are looking forward to purify their office and home. Can try and do some air plant terranium. You just google it. very good business.

or maybe you can have a short vacation to Thailand and bring back air plant to sell. there selling around rm10 one plant. bring back can sell rm50 a plant leh. LOL...what more is that the plant so tiny. Can bring back a lot. practically can cover the cost of your year end trip jor.
