Of Taking Pills and Probably (A Little) OCD..
Getting pills for myself from pharmacy
i guess many people have been feeling under the weather lately, what we would call "the post-CNY syndrome"?? haha.. and yes, unfortunately i was one of them, but lucky amongst the unlucky, i'm pretty well recovered without the need of sick leave.. thanks to these pills i grabbed from the shelf once i sensed something with my nose and throat.. i like them being all traditional natural ingredients, not making me drowsy and quite effective on me (though not those immediate recovery type).. of course, being most important is to have enough rest, fluid intake and be kiasi enough not to drag but get treatment while the sickness is still rudimentary - like i did, haha.. :p
disclaimer: this is not a paid post (because you know spot on that sponsors hardly engage me), and the pills featured above may not work the same on every individuals, consult your doctors if in doubt.. :)
Even my pills must look neat and tidy
talking about pills, i guess no one is ever more "OCD" than me, haha!! after popping out the pills, i will cut away the empty shells, and then trim the sharp edges to make them rounded.. first, i do not like to see that unsightly empty shells; second, the sharp edges need to be trimmed so that they won't cut.. of course, only when i am to keep the pills for future, if i'm consuming again in a few hours, who cares to do that?? not quite trivial i hope, hahaha.. :D

Sob sobs… Ok, I will try to jump straight to the topic lor, but hor, my style hor, I wana talk about introduction first ma, warm up first ma.. If not, how to drag the comments into 5-6 paragraphs leh? Kekekekeke..

    2. Eh, I was about to say, sai mm sai kam sanfu, just take mc and take doctor’s medicine.. But I know SK very good boy, won’t simply take mc geh.. Actually hor, I’m also like that geh *ahem*.. If there’s no need leh, I also wont simply take mc la, will dig back previous medicine and eat, and recover by myself.. To be honest, mc and annual leaves are saved for emergencies la..

    3. For flu leh, I usually take Clarinase.. For fever, usually Panadol Actifast la, what else.. For itchiness or allergy, I take Zyrtec.. These are the medicines I always have in my medicine box la..

      Delete
    4. For the boys leh, I always have: CoolFever pads, PCM (paracetamol), Prospan (cough syrup), Aerius (for flu or “lau pei sui”), Smecta (for lausai), that’s about it.. Sendiri boleh jadi doctor liao.. But of course if temperature is high or got fever, better bring to clinic la.. But of course before bringing to clinic, I will try my own remedy first la..

    5. If you do not wish to go see doctor and eat medicine, perhaps you can try your own natural-home remedy lor.. I heard hor, for cough, you can boil and orange with salt, then finish the whole orange.. For flu or blocked nose, you can cut slices of lemons or onions to put beside your bed when you sleep.. For fever, flu and what-not, you may steam some purple onions, squeeze out some juice, and eat with honey.. Else, chuck everything away and just take some VCO (virgin coconut oil).. Just my opinion la, follow at your own risk..

    6. And lastly, don't say I go to Holland la, back to your topic.. Errr, you are right, I don't do that wor, cut the shells and make them rounded, hehehee.. Eh, you too free nothing to do ahh? Then means you are not sick wor, still got mood wana cut the edges :)

      Delete
    7. yeah, sometimes not really that sick then it would be good to just take self-medication, afterall most of the time the doctors also prescribe us with medicines we can get ourselves from pharmacies (probably a lot cheaper also).. of course, if symptom persists, it's always advisable to go to seek medical consultations from the professionals..

errr, cut the shells and make the corner rounded won't take you a lot of effort lah.. if you are so sick until you cannot do that, i guess these medicine are not good enough and you should be admitted to the hospital already lor, haha.. :D

    8. Good Afternoon Princess Ribbon and Bloggers! I am back in action. I wanted to laugh at the precise word of CHART ATTACK!! It gave me the same jolt and surprise too. SK's post gets trendier and more kinky as time goes on. We must always show support and pat his kari-pap hairdo to praise his innovative HTML ideas.

I could see that I was once like you kena potong markah for blabbing so much rubbish and KNN vulgarities! I never learn, still kena potong but lesser lah. Learn from our mistakes la as we cannot stop blabbing all together. Good luck.

I also worship Clarinese as they are strong and does not make me drowsy at all. Normally I would heal and recover by the 2nd pill with plenty of rest and liquid consumption. I am very curious to try our SK's recommendation as he talks facts which I always believed like gullible Minions! Muahahahahahaha

  2. Hahaha, then I can say that you're very hard working then, last time after popping out the pills, I like to but the aluminium foil at the back back to the flat condition like the pill hasn't been popping out before, but now I don't have that much "sum gei" to do that and very lazy..

Keeping bill for future ya? I thought the same also, but also it turns out to be a lot and actually most of them like the antibiotic has to be finish even the flu has gone, right?? But I always very lazy, if recovered then I will be lazy to eat it anymore >.<

    1. if going to eat the medicine within a short period then who cares to do that lah, haha.. only if need to keep them then i'll cut away the empty shells and trim off the sharp edges lor, don't want to make a mess mah.. but of course not antibiotics lah, that one need to finish all one.. i mean those common medicines we can get from pharmacies, can keep for future use lor..

      Delete
    2. ohh...but for me hor, I always forgot to eat my medicine even the antibiotics..and I always have this kind of laziness that I'll eat it later, then the later will be the next morning or next afternoon then I only recall that I forgot to take medicine =.=

      Delete
    3. aiyoh, how can you forget to eat your medicine?? too busy with what ah?? hahaha.. like that then must set alarm on your phone to remind you to take medicine already :p

      Delete
    4. I was indeed impressed by SK's hard work to cut the edges. It is so true that it cuts anyone and I have lost count of the number of times I bled. Maybe next time, I should send them to SK to cut all for me since he loves to make handicrafts and re-design anything he could lay hands. Who knows, SK would someday colour all his tablets in his own myriad of colours!

      Delete
    5. Yah right, I also don't know why, just simply forgot...I think I serious that have too many stuffs to work on, until I forgot to take care of myself...setting alarm ya, I guess the only time that I remember to set my alarm is before I go to bed...but actually the thing is even got alarm, I'll click it and the snooze thinking of doing it later, then the "later" is don't know when...here's where the matter of procrastination came then >.<

    1. I don't think i will go by itse;f..you have take something..haha..at least supplements to strengthens your immune system or herbal tea.

      Delete
    2. sometimes small sickness also not necessarily bad lah, at least can help to boost our immune system eih?? hehehe~~ :p

      Delete
    3. SK- Yes, I agreed with you. That's why it's good for kids to get sick once a while but of course, not the serious type la. It builds up their immunity.

      Delete
    4. the chinese say "minor sickness is a bliss" and i actually quite agree with that.. only when you are sick, you get to rest and let your body rejuvenate..

      Delete
    5. What a lazy Zumba Queen! You need to kahwin a doctor quickly so that he could feed you medicine or hook you up to a drip bottle while asleep. Wakakakaka

I never dare to delay when I could see the earliest symptoms of getting sick. I would drown with barley and Fu Cha to excrete the bad wind which are the first aliens to cause our sickness. I hate to fall sick.

      Delete
  4. Usually I find these over the counter pills just give you relief but it won't cure you. Then, you need to pop again and again. It's still better to see a doc. However, if your body is strong and can endure the 'suffering' of the symptoms, then it might works as eventually the body will self heal. BTW, I'm not medically trained, just my opinion. Lol

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Normally if I take the over the counter pills it will not cure, usually when I am sick, I will go and see a doc.

      Delete
    2. of course those that you can get from the shelves of a pharmacy will not be those very strong ones, and only suitable for minor sickness lah.. those that are strong and can have immediate healing effect, cannot be sold openly but only by doctor's prescription.. of course, if symptom persists, it's always good to seek for professional medical consultations..

      Delete
    3. I think we all know our body and health better. Thus, if you think the over the counter meds don't help for your condition, better seek medical help. For me, I will take strepsils for minor throat irritations but not serious cases like pain in the throat or infections.

      Delete
    4. oh yes, i definitely agree with that.. we may DIY only if the sickness is minor, but if it is getting worse and not healing, better go and seek consultation from the professionals.. don't geh geh act pandai lah..

      Delete
    5. Spot On Chris! There is actually no cure for any sickness in human bodies. They could only be subdued or healed temporary and could come back to attack again. That applies to common cold and even cancer. Seeing doctors are my last options as some appear like silent killers to give us toxic pills that fatally harm our livers. I rather seek traditional ways and using essential oils.

      Delete
  5. I also trimmed the edges of medicines. I always carry the flu and gastric medicines around in case I need it. Trimming it helps to avoid cut as you mentioned since you won't be taking daily.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, because the sharp edges can really give you a bad hurt.. better be safe than late huh?? trimming it isn't that tough also..

      Delete
    2. It can be very sharp and before you know it... your fingers are bleeding with a cut. heheheh...Better be safe la.

      Delete
    3. yes, that's why better be safe than sorry, afterall trimming the edge also not a big process also..

      Delete
    4. Now you make me stop to think about the tablets I have been taking over the years. I realised I only ate caffergot pills the most which helps to stop my migraine. The foil pack is user friendly using soft aluminium materials which could be bent easily.

  6. Well, due to the unhealthy snacking, overeating and lack of rest, coupled with the hot and rainy weather, lots of folks fell I'll during this period. I had a mild sore throat but getting better now. It's good to keep some medicines at home for first aid.

    1. yeah, this is probably what we called the "post CNY symptoms" huh?? the doctors will continue to "huat"~~ :p

      Delete
    2. I believe the non chinese doctors very huat during CNY as most chinese docs are on leaves. They always open on CNY. muahahaha...

      Delete
    3. errr, i think it applies to ALL doctors lah, haha, only see if they are willing to open to "huat" more only.. :D

      Delete
    4. I think unhealthy snacking won't make you sick but resemble Sibu food Mayor only~!! It is the lack of sleep, exercise and not enough water consumption that would trigger all kinds of bacteria to be activated. I sound like grandma but it is true la.

  7. You win liao in terms of OCD! >.<

I seen a lot of that Hurix adverts on TV during CNY. I thought it was quite inappropriate to advertise medicines for festive seasons and in a festive manner, like saying medicines is all you need for CNY @.@.. But I suppose it is quite practical LOL!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hahaha, i win you!!! but i don't remember seeing Hurix advertisements on TV leh, anyway, i found it by browsing the pharmacy shelf when i was searching for some medicines..

      Delete
    2. I have seen Hurix advertisements on TV and it was funny. Hey RG, I am surprised that you thought it was inappropriate to advertise. When could be sick and even die anytime, be it our Chinese New Year, Christmas or own birthdays. The saying goes that "Time and Tide Waits for No Man". Dalai Lama also said Life is Uncertain but Death is Certain.

      Delete
  8. You are taking about self-medicating today, which I think is what most of us do. Medication like Panadol and Hurix are non-prescription medication and is easily available at the pharmacies. Usually during CNY, the weather is so hot and on top of that, we eat all sorts of rich and heaty food, resulting in sore throats, cough and flu. Perhaps we also drink less water and too much soft (and hard) drinks make matters worse.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, i guess for minor ones it's okay to have self-medication, but if symptom persists, better to seek for medical consultation..

      Delete
    2. I realised how lucky we Malaysians are! We can buy most non-prescription medication at the pharmacies. You cannot do that in Singapore and Taipei. They made me roll on the floor with my migraine killing me! LOL

      Delete
  9. I have heard about Hurix from my partner. He heard about it in advertisement on Radio 5. I understand that it is a herbal remedy for flu. The funny thing is that when I wanted to buy it at the pharmacy, the pharmacist discouraged me. She said that since it is a herbal remedy, it works much slower. Instead, she recommended a generic drug.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i found this Hurix when i was browsing for medicines in a pharmacy, grab a packet to try and found it was quite good.. though the effect may not be immediate due to it's herbal remedy..

      Delete
    2. Never really try this Hurix before but I don't really dare to anyhow try over the counter meds.Sometimes, I just ask the pharmacist for recommendations.

      Delete
    3. of course if you are not comfortable with those on the shelves, by all means, go consult the pharmacist for recommendations :)

      Delete
    4. Wah! This pharmacist sounds like a killer or paid assassin! Herbal remedy usually may take longer but they often penetrate to the roots of the sickness to heal it. The western medications are too strong and immediately subdued the sickness or bacterias to help livers kaput and die faster!!!!

      Delete
  10. Usually when I am sick, the symptom is fever and headache which is preceded by sore throat, running nose or cough or all the above. I used to take Disprin (soluble) aspirin for the headache and fever. But sadly, Disprin has been discontinued and I have no choice but to take aspirin. It's the same thing except this is non-soluble and takes slightly more time to work.I don't take Panadol as it doesn't work on me.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. oh, Disprin, sounds good but too bad its discontinued?? Panadol is quite good but i try to avoid it since it's still chemical based.. the Hurix seems to be better as it's all herbal..

      Delete
    2. Aspirin and Disprin are good to prevent heart attacks and strokes but they are a bit too strong which could make me dizzy with my head spinning like Planet Neptune. I think Dsiprin was discontinued due to its price with so many competitors in the market as they take so little market share.

      Delete
  11. I prefer to self-medicate rather than go to the clinic. There's usually a long wait and while waiting, you breathe in more germs from the other patients hah..hah... Besides, the doctor will prescribe medicine that is easily available at the pharmacy. The standard would be Panadol and cough mixture or some other pills for blocked nose or to stop runny nose. Or worse, some prescribe antibiotics which as we know does not kill virus.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hahaha, but then if really quite serious then no choice but gotta see a doctor in the clinic.. but then if the doctor has prescribed medicines, of course we will take those and not grab anything else from the pharmacy huh??

      Delete
    2. I fully agree to self-medicate instead of paying the doctors so high to kill us a slow death with overdose of toxic medicines. My poor liver must be damaged by the years swallowing those hospital and clinic's antibiotic tablets and jabs that could also affect our immune system. I was always so stupid as to believe all the doctors and thought that they could take care of me and save our lives.

Now I rely on pure essential oils and put my complete faiths for Dr. Hurix and Dr. Kong Woh Tong!

      Delete
  12. But even though I prefer not to see the doctor, there are situations when it is necessary. Once, my flu symptoms lasted more than 4 days and I had no choice but to go to the clinic. The best part was when the doctor asked if I wanted the sleepy or non-sleepy cough mixture. I chose the sleepy one to help me sleep. Sleep is one of the best ways to recover.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. oh yeah.. i remember when i was in high school, i fret to see doctor and get MC.. because marks will be deducted if we were absent from school!! being kiasu, die-die also must go to school.. haha!!

      Delete
  13. Besides taking medication, we should also take better nutrients so that we can recover. Lemon juice with honey is very good as we can get natural vitamin C to help us recover. We should also eat healthy food. Some natural remedies are also helpful. I read the one about steaming an orange with salt but I did not try it because it sounds weird and I may not like the taste.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. agree.. i guess natural remedy is also good, probably not giving you an immediate healing effect but i guess in a long run, it will actually help in boosting our immune system..

      Delete
  14. I also trim off the empty pill shells because it looks neater and also saves space because the strip becomes shorter. That way the medicine cabinet or drawer will not be so cluttered. But I am not so OCD like you because I don't bother to trim teh sharp edges. So far, so good, didn't get any cuts yet.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, give me five!! hahaha, those empty shells are like rubbish to me and should not go into the container huh?? so i will get them cut off and thrown away, and the edges trimmed, cos i find them too sharp and can cut badly..

      Delete
  15. I am quite lucky that this year I survived CNY without getting sick hah..hah... I think it was because I stayed home and did not indulge in excessive of cookies, ngaku chips and soft drinks. I also ate "normal" portions during lunch and dinner. In the past, I will always overeat. Can't help is as there is so much good food around and it is like wasted if you don't taste more of the goodies. It is ironic that a celebration like this where we eat and be merry will lead us to cough and flu hah..hah...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i was on the verge of getting sick before and during CNY this year, but i took the pills soon after i felt something wrong.. and i guess because i get treatment early while the sickness is still minor, i heal quite fast too..

      Delete
  16. I do that too!

Cut away the empty shell. Hahaha

    1. yeah, must be kiasu to get treatment before the sickness get worse.. :)

  18. Seeing that you have some form of OCD, I wonder how and where do you store your medication. Do you keep them in a medicine cabinet, drawer or a special purpose container? And do you sort them out according to categories like - flu, cough, fever, "lau sai", wind, gastric etc? I am quite shy to tell you that my medication is all dumped into a drawer with all my supplements. When I want something, I got to dig. Sometimes, I realise that I run out of that particular medication. I should get my medicine drawer properly sorted out!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. errr, if you talk about OCD in terms of storage, i think i am not OCD at all but just very cincai.. haha!! just throw it somewhere that i can find later lah.. definitely won't go and sort them out according to categories lah.. hahahaha.. having said that, maybe i shall go and get a storage box or something like a first aid kit?? :p

  19. And do you keep track of the expiry dates of the pills? From what I read, although medications carry expiry dates, they are still effective for many months after that. Recently, I had a headache and found some leftover Disprin. But I couldn't see any expiry date on the foil wrapper. I took a chance and consumed it. Luckily didn't die. It took care of my headache and I still have a few more of the Disprin.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. errr, i won't keep track of the expiry dates but before i take anything edible, i have a habit of checking out the expiry dates so that i don't eat something expired.. and especially medicines, i won't ever take the risk, if it's expired, i'll throw that away and rather not eat..

      Delete
  20. Talking about pills, do you bring along some basic medication when you travel? I remember consulting my pharmacist and she recommended a few like "lau sai" pills, for gastric, motion sickness, cough/running nose, fever and it turned out to be quite a bit. I kept them in a pouch and felt that it is better to be well prepared and not have to look for pills in a foreign country. My medicine is still intact and still in the pouch. I guess that will be for the next trip, if there is any or for use anytime that I need it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i actually don't have that habit of bring medicine with me when i travel.. but i think this is actually a good idea.. the only time i bring along some pills with me was when i went to India.. anyway, good that those you packed as still intact, that means you were healthy!! :)

  21. If I am having headache, I will go for panadol too, but if i am having cough and flu, I will go seeing doctor and getting the Antibiotic. Because I want to recover fast. I never drag one. Now we have the in-plant clinic, I will go to see the in-house clinic in my company immediately I feel uncomfortable.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I am not doing the trimming of the edge, but I will throw away the empty shells. It is good to be tidy and neat like SK, everything will be in order and good fengshui. I believe so. I must learn from SK to be tidy and neat. I think I can be a better person by learning to do so. Thanks SK.

    2. Touch wood, Yannie isn't sick after Chinese New Year, either Yannie has good immune system, or Yannie really good in take care of own health. Hehehehe!

But, Yannie also visited doctor just now, as due to hot weather, Yannie suffers from fungal infections under armpits. Too much sweat due to hot days. So Yannie gets some fungal cream and anti- itchiness medicines just now.

      Delete
    3. Somehow mentioning about panadol makes me nauseous. Maybe I don't like these type of medicines which immediately starts dissolving once it touch water, while in my mouth. Those coated ones not too bad.

      Delete
    4. i also try to stay away from Panadol because one can get "immune" to Panadol pretty quickly, and the dosage needed will get more and more to be effective.. hence, i think those herbal remedy would be better though the effect is slower..

errr, to me those empty shells are rubbish so they must be discarded away.. and the edges can be very sharp to cut badly, so i think it's no harm getting them trimmed.. just to play safe.. :)

  22. True, most people get sick after a festive season. It must be due to the goodies especially cookies which are rather heaty.

I personally still prefer plain water as drinks. Sweetened drinks are not good.

I too will grab medicine from the counter should I don't feel good. I will also make sure that the used sections are cut away.

    1. hahah.. I try hard not to eat too much snacks but still end up with a sore throat. Ok la... not so serious.

  23. There are people who likes to take over the counter meds and can get well. I have friends who just pop Panadol, dunno what 365 , flu relief medicines ...again like panadol for flu and etc,and they will get well. Not for me... it only gave me relief but it comes back again later. I prefer to see a doc and get well faster instead of wasting time with short term relieve. maybe I am weak... hahaha.. or too dependent on doctors and prescribes medicines.

    1. Now that you mentioned, I realize yes, saw you posted a few times about you falling sick, but sometimes those virus are just too strong la! Common colds are normal one... So have to be careful anyway.
Me too, I learn from pass time mistakes so whenever I feel unwell, I will quickly go see doctor rather than buying medicines from pharmacy, no need jalan twice or waste money twice, cause to me those medicines from doctor are much more 'stronger' and effective. And I always go to the same clinic, since 3 years old, hoho!

      Delete
    2. yeah.. sometimes when it's not necessary to see a doctor, i will just go to get some pills over the counter.. but of course, if still not getting better, it's better to go to see a doctor to get prescribed with more effective medicines already.. :)

      Delete
  24. Anyway, the best over the counter medicines that I got used are Actal , the antacid which relief the pain and charcoal for diarhoea. These are the good ones for me and I keep it in my fridge while I bring my actal with me in my bag, just in case. Anyway ,touch wood, I don't really take a lot of actal.

    ReplyDelete

    1. yeah, i guess it's gotta be a lot of trials before you find the medicine that best suits you.. i would say, different people will sure have their own set of medicines that work best for them..

      Delete
  25. There are also the rich or healthy ones which prefers to take supplements to counter their illness. Some good example are like a heavy dose of vitamin C for flu, Vit B complex for stress, Echinacea for flu, glucosamine for knee pains and etc.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i would say those supplements are not of effective healing but rather to keep one healthy in a long run.. when you are having flu, i guess some flu medicine will work better than just Vitamin C which probably will take you much longer to heal..

      Delete
  26. Then there are folks who rely on traditional medicines where they even keep some at home or in office, like Hor Yan Hor tea, cold remedies, tea tree oil, medicated oils, Po Chai pills and so on. Some of them are effective but do take with care.

    1. I agree, memang got people trust Chinese medicines more than Western ones. To me it depends, but I guess I am more to the latter, cause faster results.

  27. Like Phong Hong , I also self-medicate if its not serious from leftover meds but of course, not antibiotics. Sometimes I do buy meds from the clinics or pharmacies when I know my conditions. This is especially so the docs will also prescribed the same meds most of the time, which I encountered many times beforee. I might as well just buy it.

  30. True, weather is getting crazy lately, sekejap hot sekejap cold, don't say kids even adults also fall sick easily!
If lucky, just a mild one which can recover by itself by increasing Vit C and water intake. If unlucky, kena those sick virus then no choice have to spend money go buy medicines/see doctor.

Me leh, I consider myself very weak in terms of immune system, especially after giving birth, probably because getting older? Or 平时没做好预防? Don't know la. Even if it's the beginning, I just need antibiotic, those over-the-counter pills won't work for me, the most frequent illness I get is sorethroat and flu/blocknose. Tried many times taking those pills from pharmacy at the early stage but still won't cure the thing, end up have to go see doctor get antibiotic, may be that's why I am prone to sickness, cause too rely on antibiotic already.
Now pregnant lagi susah, cannot simply take medicines, so got to opt for nature remedy like honey lemon, Vit C, coconut oil, leong cha and so on. So since months ago I already taking probiotic 希望打好底la! Cause falling sick is really suffering, some more worry will spread to my son.

Haha your OCD is not strange to me cause I do what you did also, trim off the empty shell, cause those looks very 佐订 to me, so just trim them off, save space also, and looks neat.
But I din't cut off the edge la!

  32. I must be living under a coconut shell because I have not seen Hurix before. I guess mainly because I try not to take any medications when I catch a cold. Just drink lots of water and sleep a lot to get my body to heal naturally. Of course I know panadol since doctor always give them for fever but now I heard Ibuprofen works better than panadol.

Since you take Hurix I guess it is all traditional natural ingredients. So now if I know someone having a cold I will ask them to try Hurix see whether suitable for them or not.

You are right, it is best to catch it when it is just starting. Drink plenty of water, get more rest and eat suitable medicine like you did to recover faster.

This CNY, I only binge on cookies for one day only so touch wood I am still ok so far. Been sicking in LRT trains with many coughing and sneezing people so I am very scared of catching their cold. So lucky you introduce Hurix here. Since I am working now, I can't drink lots of water and sleep all day to get my body to recover by itself so I may try Hurix but touch wood, I hope I won't get infected by those people coughing away in the LRT train, a confined space, hard to escape from their germs. The thing is people here do not have the habit of wearing a mask when they have a cold and a cough so it is very easy to catch a cold from them in confined spaced. Do you wear a mask on LRT when you have a cold or a cough?

    ReplyDelete

    1. maybe you are too healthy that you need no medicine?? hehe.. i found this Hurix when i was browsing for some pills, tried it and found it quite good, so i bought i again..

and you are so right about the LRT.. the first day i got back to work after the CNY holidays, OMG, i was surrounded by sick people in the train.. of course no one bothers to put on a mask, and some even do not blow their nose but keep on sniffing in their mucus back into the noise, which i find so irritating and disgusting..

ooopsss, i guess it's not common here that we put on a mask.. so do you wear a mask if you are having a cold or cough??

  33. I do not think you are being OCD. You are just being sensible and careful by trimming the sharp corners to be rounded so that you do not accidentally get a cut. Those empty shells are just wasting space if you put them inside your pills cabinet or pocket so cutting away those empty shells are just you being sensible again. I would not call it OCD.

You can also be considered diligent by doing so. I guess many people know that the sharp edges can accidentally give them cuts but they do not trim away them to be round corners. Why? Because they are plain lazy, that's why. Hehehe, hope I did not offend anyone here who does not cut away the sharp corners.

Of course if you will eat again in a few hours, no point spending time to cut the empty shells away or trim the sharp corners. I also agree to that.

    ReplyDelete

    1. haha, yes.. i think the empty shells are kind of rubbish and we throw away rubbish instead of keeping them right?? and the edges can really be so sharp to cut badly, so it's really no harm to trim them, better safe than sorry right??

I always see if hot cough then drink herbal tea where can buy outside like the "wong lou gat" or my mom will boil "bali" for me (but my house's bali is very different from outside, it's no sugar one, so very pure bali and sometimes not easy to swallow it), cold cough then my mom will boil the 泡参 for me....the cold cough is very hard to recovered actually which has happened to me that makes me cough for months, the phlegm was green for hot cough, then for cold cough one is in white color and that time I was so scared to see any blood in my phlegm lo...

So now I would prefer to head to Kong Woh Tong to have a quick and easy drink without having to worry about finishing the pot.
It is indeed a very sad thing that folks in the western countries are not aware about the yin & yang theory in our human bodies. My American friends did not understand about the existence of Yin & Yang balance for our human bodies. They choose not believe this myths of Asians and pointed out to me that they would know they are heaty by checking their bodily temperature with the thermometer! Kanasai these morons.

I felt that manufacturers should make soft foils for consumer safety and if the pills are crushed, we could still eat them easily with a teaspoon. Anyway the chance are so slim for the tablets to crack up.

    1. Now that I read this comments again, I could see the reason as to why many Malaysians would suffer from bouts of flu, cough & colds during the annual Chinese Lunar New Year. Our grandmothers used to blame the north wind or "Pak Fong" that blows some cold windy air to us unsuspectingly, thus our immune system would drop.

I went on to google some written facts and truths to discover that a north wind is a wind that originates in the north and blows south. The north wind has had historical and literal significance, since it often signals cold weather and seasonal change in the Northern hemisphere.

For me I would want the drosy med. Pop one pill...then sleep till next day and no more flu liao. I had Clarinese before. That one non-droswy one. But after taking that I had terrible headaches. So now I tarak take that one liao. It doesn;t suit me
