[Volume 7 Issue 11, #1612]
i don't usually sit but prefer to stand when i'm in the LRT.. first, my huge body will cramp everyone if sitting side by side.. second, if i happen to sit then i am quite reluctant to give my seat to others later.. hence, for myself or for other passengers, i would rather stand the whole journey.. talking about standing, i always like to stand in between the side of the doors and the row of seats, as seen in the photo above.. i guarantee you can stand in comfort there, no need to be pushed by others, no need to be afraid of getting too deep into the coach and find it tough to get out.. most importantly, when you are tired you can always lean on the walls too, definitely a strategic spot to stand huh?? anyway, this spot is actually meant for those on wheelchairs, if you see any please remember to let them occupy that space.. :)

  1. That used to be at least a 30-min stand each way going and coming back from work then? You do have strong legs.

    1. SK, I support your for standing in the train. That helps burning your fat. I like to stand too. When I am inside my boss's room. He always invited to take seat. I woulud politely say thanks, then I said I prefer to stand. Because talking to him is already a waste of my valueble time, might as well choose to stand. At least I can console myself, I have burn some calories by standing inside his room. This is my Ah Q spirit.

    2. yeah, it's about 25-30min ride for me.. and i actually realize by carrying my bag and standing my back actually start to feel pain.. i think not because of standing but because i am still carrying my sling bag with my laptop in it.. that's why sometimes i need to lean against the glass or get myself a seat..

    3. Ya, ya, agree wholly with Yannie. Although I'm such a lazy bum, I prefer to stand. It's convenient and it makes me feel like, "I'm on the go".

Yannie, I declined boss' offer to take a seat because it means longer discussion in his room. Usually I would find excuses to come out faster :p

    4. guys standing okay la. Not as if SK is 7 old 80. Give the space to those who need it.

Standing also good la. At least wont feel guilty when see old folks or pregnant ladies standing.

you use sling bag ah...why not try bag pack. then more balanced right?

      Delete
    5. yalah, don't sit in the boss room, just stand and it will make the discussion shorter..

yeah, better stand so that won't feel guilty when see pregnant ladies and old folks coming in.. instead, can stare at those people who are sitting and give signal to them to give the seats to them!! haha~~

    4. errr, depends on how you stand lah STP.. if your back is leaning on the glass i think should have enough space.. if trying to lean between then handle and the glass, definitely impossible, i can't even do that, haha!!

Good afternoon, everyone! I spent less than a year commuting LRT and I was such a lazy person (still the same now) that I opt to sit back then. I was slim and young and could afford to squeeze my small butt in between 2 big fat aunties.

I don't think I can do that anymore nowadays. My butt expands after giving birth twice!

      Delete
    5. hahaha, Zaini doesn't like your two legs berkangkang too much!! yalah, that spot is the best one in the LRT, i always aim for that..

yalor, sometimes i don't want to sit because i'm afraid i will embarrass myself.. before i sit down, the other passengers have lots of space, after i sit down, everyone cramps together!!

  11. and you know what I hate most when commuting on the lrt? Train so packed yet some people like to lean their whole body on the tiang in the middle of the coach. Others need to hold on to the tiang too, and hv to touch the fella/gal back/bidy. Ticks.

Must be their back so fragile need to sandar on the tiang instead of standing straight. :S

    1. Actually, it is better to stand straight, with the tummy and buttock all tucking in. This is the best pose in Yoga. Might as well, practise some Yoga pose in the train ride, that helps burning some fat. Actually leaning on something is a bad posture le!

  17. Is it so spacious in the train nowadays? Or there is less commuters at the time you snapped this picture? How about peak-hour?

I remember the overcrowded commuters whenever I hopped into the train donkey years ago. Or maybe Kommuter has a lot of commuters? Yes? No? I seldom take LRT because I was a poor student and can only afford the Metro bus or KTM Kommuter.
