24.04.2012 | 今時唔同

[Volume 7 Issue 4, #1394]
saw two students in the gym yesterday, so it suggests that students (and their parents) nowadays are so rich.. i remember i still fight for the field to play after school, and now they are so posh to be working out in private gym!! simply comparing the then and now students, they use iPhones while we hunted public phones up and down, they drink starbucks while we could only afford teh-tarik, they order the most expensive McD set while we were eating chicken rice by the roadside.. yet they don't appreciate what they are given, time has really changed and so do students~~

  1. Yalah... gym also got students membership what. Must be a lot of students who want to go gym instead of running around football fields. xD

    1. I like to enroll myself into a gym facility too, unfortunately we don't have a proper one here :(

Mostly are under-maintained and they are not worth the monthly fee paid.

    2. I guess most parents have the same thinking, thus many students jog or run in the lake garden.

Hassle-free, no incur of $$$ and can breath in fresh air at the same time.

  3. I know someone who doesn't earn much, but liked the idea of having a gym membership. So she asked her mom to swipe her card to pay for the membership!

    1. Did her mom get her the membership?? If so, I would say, "Spoiled brat". No offence, ya. Just that her mother is not super rich and could afford the membership. It's her hard-earned money that give the daughter the luxury of gym.

Of course, sometimes mothers give in because they don't want to disappoint their children and want the best for them.

    1. Tell me about it.... everything single thing on their body is more expensive than mine.

They got Iphone, I got old-phone.

      They wear Ralph Lauren's, I wear Cheetah's.

They smell Gucci, I smell onion and garlic.

      They use LV's, I use pasar malam's.

6-star private school mah, sure their parents are loaded. Most probably if I hit TOTO jackpot, then I would not be smelling like food and wear only designer brands.

  15. Joining gym is a healthy choice, at least better than patronizing those arcade.

But kids nowadays are missing the fun and adventures - there are more exploration when we jog in nature. Under the sun, we can get Vit.D and free tanning. We can hear birds singing and chirping. We can meet various ppl. We can take different path everyday.

Well, what I wanna say is, kids shouldn't waste their time indoor. Go out and play :D
