[Volume 7 Issue 4, #1392]
every time at watson's, the staff will sure hard-sell their members card to customers.. after many times of decline, i got irritated and to stop those further nagging i finally gave up and took one.. at first i thought with the RM200 worth of vouchers it's worth the fees, but only to find out all vouchers are useless rubbish!! ok, and when i wanted to activate the card, the website won't get through unless i accept the "you agree watsons to use the information provided by you and the chosen channels to contact with you" clause (not to mention the lousy grammar they use)!! WTF??!! can't i have my privacy and not to be contacted?? it feels exactly like buying a piece of rubbish for nothing~~ @_@

    1. i think they put in clauses in those fine prints (that we never bother to read) to include our consent to allow them to use the provided information..

  5. They can sell your database from RM10 to RM100 depending on how detailed the info. That is where and how telemarketers make calls to sell you stuffs.

    1. yalar, i know they are selling the database.. so not ethical!!

  6. How do I know all this? I used to work in a huge database management company which comes with a big call center. Of course we didn't recruit data from the public but our clients did.

每次我一问 "how you get my number?"

    1. 哦, 原來問一句"how you get my number?"

Sometimes the boutiques I visit give me their membership card after purchase of RMxx amount - I just keep at home too :D

  27. Same like Watson's, Tesco will send quarterly "items voucher" which is kinda useless. I only use the cash voucher.

    ReplyDelete

  28. I shop in Watson's, like, twice annually (?) and the staff would promote their card whenever I checkout.

I'm very good at resisting those promotion :D

  29. Eh, have to manually activate that Watson's card? How can? Macam la so high tech like ATM card.

How about the benefit? Got discount when purchasing stuff from Watson? Or just collect points for redemption later? Or simply can enjoy the "members' day" privilege?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. dunno lah, still can collect points, just that activated already you get extra 200 points lah.. but that 200 points only equals RM1, so cheap lah.. paying us RM1 to use our contact information for their marketing?? lame..

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
