[Volume 7 Issue 3, #1366]
gadgets nowadays put every possible function together, the higher resolution the screen the better.. a huge screen is of course nice, even people with poor sight can see it clearly.. but practically, having to use both hands to hold a camera or a big cold plank sticking on the face isn't something cool i think.. it's just like asking you to click on a 5-inch OK button, feels quite idiot right?? :D

Like that huge OK button, they can easily be seen.

    1. Not only that, Lina, I saw some ladies with huge totes which can functioned like Doraemon's magical pocket, opt to bring their IPad around on their hands....

      Look so show-off leh!

    2. Show off lah...

      they got iPad mah!

      We don't.

      hehehe

    3. no lah, i don't feel comfortable carrying such a big plank of gadget.. aren't gadgets supposed to be small and handy?? it feels so clumsy using such huge ones..

  3. As much as having an issue of having a huge electronics that needs two hands to hold, I have issues on why these electronics have to be used/played almost everywhere.

Looking at your iPad while walking around the mall? Why?

Staring at your iPhone instead of having a conversation with your lunch partner? Why?

I know you all got nifty gadgets... but please lah... cannot put them down for a minute? It's not as if you're busy. You were just playing games. Cannot wait meh?

My Tuesday morning rantings concludes here. ^^

but very true also, nowadays people are looking at their gadgets rather than talking to each other.. even communicating also via facebook, haha!!

  6. I find human taste and choice change often like weather. At first our mobile phone was Atur series which was huge like car battery. Then shrunk to brick size and called Tai Kor Tai.

    1. yeah, it depends on market needs and also technology lah.. maybe in the future, everything is compact to one lens and you just put that onto your eyeball.. :p

    2. Eyeball? So innovative! Why not just transplant into our brains!!

      Delete
  7. Then all brands raced to make smallest phones! I think I still have that tiniest flip phone from Motorola that could be hidden inside my palm! That one was not practical as my fingers are too big for it's tiny buttons. Kids can press better! Ha ha

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, last time the smaller the cooler right?? but now different already, the screen size must be large enough so that people from 10m away also can see clearly!!

      Delete
  8. Next they created wafer thin sizes! Looked like CNY kueh kapit thin and crispy!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. cannot be too thin also, later put in the pocket, sit on it and broken~~

      Delete
    2. Cannot break lah since they are not made from eggs and flour!

I find the thin designs for phones and TV are space saving and weight for decor, usage and even transportation.

      Delete
    3. Japanese invited cube shaped watermelons to save space in freight containers! So clever!

  9. Finally touch screen mobile devices came along and called smart phones. Now they start growing big again like monsters. Look at this blog's photo shows the man talking on it. Must be from Samsung!

    1. it's so obvious that person is on a phone

      Delete
    2. Muahaha, can see his glasses almost fall down due to oversize phone!

      Delete
    3. yeah, that's exactly my point!! that phone is too big to be placed on the face right?? :p

      Delete
  10. Many people could not buy this to use when they realized their palms are too small to hold.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yalor, the palms are too small for this, and it's like you can never securely get hold of the gadget.. so instead of holding it, you are pushing it to stick on your face, hahaha!!

      Delete
    2. I thought the smaller the better..

      Delete
    3. My old phone was so tiny that I had to use fingers to hold!!!

      Delete
  11. I really find IPad is really practical and easy to carry everywhere! I love it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. errr, carrying the iPad everywhere, kind of not convenient lah..

      Delete
    2. It is easy to carry in office bags and even travelling luggage. The lap top is heavy and bulky!

      Delete
  12. true..it's just like a book.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I hv got to make a choice..iphone or ipad?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. errr, if you are going to use it as a phone then get an iPhone.. if you wanna get most entertainment then go for iPad..

      Delete
    2. Why not Thambee give away free iPhone for blogger of the year??? I will work hard for it ok.

      Delete
  14. it's funny thinking about it

    ReplyDelete
  15. when hand set first come out it was very bulky

    ReplyDelete
  16. Then become smaller and smaller

    ReplyDelete
  17. now with the ipohoine ipad and what not...it's getting bigger and bigger

    ReplyDelete
  18. guess the next trend might be smaller and smaller again gua....

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, i think that's a cycle in all these gadgets huh?? yup, perhaps in the future, we just need to implant a lens on our eyeball then it can be used as screen and everything is voice control.. we don't need to carry any physical gadgets anymore..

      Delete
  19. Hehe ya, I can't help but laugh when I see people taking photos with their iPad, just feel weird la! *grin*

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Likewise.

But a lot of people will smugly do that : take photos/videos.

For me, want to take video/photo esp at events, get a good camera lah!

      Delete
    2. I second that, Lina.

It's weird to see a Ipad double function as camera/camcorder, although it allows so. I was like, "Seriously?" whenever I see anyone use IPad to record something.

      Delete
    3. actually iPad comes with quite a decent camera lens i won't deny, the photo quality are actually very nice too.. but then the size is rather a turn off when taking photo, hahaha~~

      Delete
  20. At my daughters' concert last years, I saw many aunties holding up Ipad high on the sky to record the performance happened on stage.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That happened at my son's school too. Some more, the guy sat in front. So all parents can see his iPad, instead of the stage.

      Delete
    2. hahaha, good also lah.. cos they help to show the stage zoomed in for you all at the back mah.. can see clearer!! :D

      Delete
  21. It was a huge crowd in front, I was just afraid that people would knock their Ipad down. Scary scene and also a very typical 'kiasu' scene lo!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hahaha, if their iPad are knocked down then good lah.. give them a lesson, wakakakaka!!

  22. Using Iphone to record still acceptable wo! Using Ipad to record things, don't know la! A bit weird.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yalor, that's why i used the 5-inch OK button as example to explain my views~~ :p

      Delete
    2. Just get used to seeing it and it wont look weird anymore.

      Delete
  23. i still like my iPhone. not too small and big enough for me :D

  24. My husband says I complain about these users because I don't have one.

If I do, I sure won't feel "jealous". LOL

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hahahaha, same case here. I don't own any Job's inventions hence when I complained ppl said I jealous, too.

      Delete
    2. Yup,that's caused me dun dare to comment abt any apple product. One of my colleague said to others "你不要吃不到苹果就说苹果不好吃".....
      so better keep quiet.

      Delete
    3. hahaha, i think can be the case lah.. because we don't have one then we condemn, but when we are using one then we feel cool and convenient, hahaha~~

  25. Ya...I've seen people using their ipads to take photos at weddings and dinners. They really look quite ridiculous!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, feel so clumsy with that right?? but well, personal preference we cannot criticize.. :)

      Delete
  26. But I admit Ipad is way much better than Iphone. My eyesight no good la, need bigger screen to see things clearly.

Moreover, easier to navigate with my fat fingers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yalah, of course the bigger the screen the better lah.. but then gotta see on what occasion you are using the gadget lor.. agree??
