[Volume 7 Issue 10, #1568]
this is definitely not a book i have read recently, in fact i have not read any books other than academic articles since i've taken my MBA course, how boring, haha!! i am actually more to reading non-fiction, those that can give me insider insights into things i am curious of are definitely my choice, maybe due to my gossipy nature?? hahaha.. saw this book while i was searching for something from my drawer, realized i rarely write about books (also because i rarely read) besides this and this, so maybe i can write about this book to fill up my post space, haha!! this is a book that gathers real experiences from air-stewards (of course collectively means all stewards and stewardesses), those we being the passengers do not usually know but all revealed in this book.. what are behind these always professional-looking air-stewards?? shocking, saucy, raunchy, scandalous confessions and behind-the-scene stories showing the other sides of these air-stewards that keep me reading~~ they have a few in this series, including "Hotel Babylon" too.. :p

Never tried to cook anything unfortunately. I wish she would just browse online if she only wants to look - those books can be really really expensive, hard cover, glossy pictures and all. Consoling part - she uses her own money. Hehehehehe!!!!

Can't understand some parents (dads especially) who cannot remember which class the kid is studying, the day he or she was born - not that they have one dozen of them like people in the past, just one or two. What kind of parenting is that?

STP, its because we bookworms loves books. They may turn yellow or smelly or even have silverfish goldfish and cockroaches food but we till love them. If ones know how to keep and store the books properly they wont be smelly and have silverfish.

some books when it's open, it bring back memories. Just like photos.

The yellowish and all that it give character to the books. Something that others wont understand.

Same thing with kampua noodles . Those who doesn't eat noodles they would say it's nothing special. But for someone like you who knows how to enjoy a good plate of kampua, you will think differently.

Another reason, of course, is...the books are getting too expensive...even though I will still fork out the money for my daughter. She loves reading! Doesn;t spend on other stuff so much so it is ok.

I like non-fiction too! Love historic books - lately am reading through a few about the history of Malaya/Malaysia, the Malay Sultanate and stuff, independence story and stuff (I never blog about this, like ever, do I? ^^) and of course books on running - technical books and autobiographies too.

Not into chick-lit or romance but I do enjoy fantasy books and mystery books. :)

You like non-fiction only ka, Lina? what about fiction about Malaya? Have you tried the books by local author Khoo Kheng Hor? Try read "Taikor", "mamasan", "Nanyang" , Four sided Tower and SIfu. These are his books. I like it very much. about the happenings before and after japanese occupation.

    2. Try out Tilly Bagshawe books which bear title starting with "Sidney Sheldon's...." Her writing is very similar to Sidney sheldon books . But her chick-lit not that good.

  24. Normally, girls love romance - Mills and Boons, Barbara Cartland. Really those stories - always the guy older, a filthy RICH widower...and the girl, young and innocent, employed to take care of the kids or to tutor them....falling head over heels over the guy. So silly, the stories... I really wonder why girls/ladies love to read those. Their fantasy kah?

    1. OMG!!! Barbara Cartland books!!! All the fanatasies in there. Last time when young, naive and pure I used to read that kind of book.

Now I like being grounded and reasd "real stories" for a change. xD

      Delete
    2. Young girls...lost in all the fantasies. I hope when they grow older, get married already, they would be realistic, have both feet firmly on the ground...and will not go on having these romantic ideas in their heads...or do they?

    3. Barbara Cartland? read one and did not read anymore. Nothing much interesting one leh.
