the commercial above has nothing to do with what i wanted to blog about today, but considering it's TGIF today, why not relax ourselves after i am going to talk something about elevator.. i remember i've talked about the so-called "etiquette" in taking elevator god-knows-when ago, today i'm going to talk about another irritating act.. initially i should have written about that yesterday but due to my mind-block i came out with an empty post instead, haha.. so what's that irritating act all about?? going between two floors and yet talking the elevator!! i just witness a very fit young guy who tool the elevator to go to his gym which is just one floor up.. why taking the elevator to go up just a floor and wasting everyone's time?? why not just take the stairs, as i think that would be even faster than taking the elevator.. for me i would have chosen the stairs if i am to go up just one floor.. furthermore taking the stairs is some kind of exercise, so ladies if you want to have a nice figure like the lady in that commercial, forget about the elevator and start to take the stairs!! :D |

Good Friday morning, SK, everyone!
ReplyDeleteOh, it's you!!! Hello, HS! Top of the morning to you... Have a nice day!!!
DeleteIt must be a magical Friday. You are so sweet today, Sui Tua Pui.
DeleteYou have a really nice day too!
Today? Am I not like this every day, always so very sweet one? Hehehehehehe!!!!!
DeleteGood morning, Happy and STP~~
DeleteGood morning, SK and everybody!
It's Friday, alright! But I can't relax because I need to work on Saturday >< I seriously need to get the first sip tomorrow to make my day.
Ok, everybody! Tomorrow...don't come by till 9 or 10. Let Yvonne have the first sip, poor thing...has to work on Saturday.
DeleteAww... thank you, sir~~ you are so kind to shoo all the hamsaporers away.
DeleteIndeed I have to acknowledge that you are the sweetest uncle I've met around :D
Don't say uncle lah... make him so old dy. Call him Oppa! LOL
DeleteOk lah... I'm old, I know but my young friends all call me by name, dunno why they do not call me uncle. Maybe they do not feel like I'm so very old. Wink! Wink! LOL!!!
DeleteI wonder which part of you is old? You sure sound like a young blooded blogger to me who never fails to manja this HS daily. Like an old P Ramlee movie!
DeleteGood day, everyone.
DeleteGlad this one is not another blank post. Looks like the hamsapness from yesterday still lingers on till now ya.
Good morning, SK! Good morning, everyone! Who's first today?
ReplyDeleteIf it's just the staircase in my own company building, I would take it but if in a public building, I will not for safety reasons. I read that advice esp for ladies to avoid taking the stairs because people who are out to create mischief are normally lurking there to try their luck. No, thank you.
ReplyDeleteAlso, going down stairs is really bad for the ankles (it wears them down unlike going up stairs), I read in some health report. So there, doesn't mean one takes the stairs, one would stay healthy, wor.
DeleteHold on to the handrail for support...and tread softly. Not only for the ankles...but also for the knees. That's why even young people today have pain in their knee joints. I always bring along an umbrella even when it is not raining to use for support...like a walking stick. The support has done me good - no knee joint problem at mu age, thank God.
DeleteNo such danger in the staircases here but often neglected so you will see all the litter, all the dust that has accumulated over the years...and sometimes, smelly too...and sometimes, the handrail already shaky - doesn't seem strong enough to give much support...and also often very dark, so dimly-lit!
DeleteI don't have any issues taking the stairs.
DeleteSafety wise - I always think that with proper precaution, we can avoid any lurking danger.
And for health wise - well, movement and non-movememnt can affect health. What is preached as good for health now, may be considered bad in future!
Anyway, dangers? Sit at home quietly can be dangerous too! Robbers can come into homes. Couch potatos can be prone to obesity.
It's always safer to take the elevator than the stairs for ladies if those stairs are dark and lonely. But it shouldn't be a problem for guys as they can easily run up the stairs. Lina should be able to run up the stairs too as she's a runner. But if just one floor, I wouldn't mind taking the stairs too.
DeleteI hardly take the lift. Elevator, yes but rarely.
DeleteThe highest building in Taiping is most probably 5-storey high only - hotels. And I don't sleep in Taiping hotel. Who needs hotel when the best place to sleep in is my own comfy bedroom.
Most motels here is 2-storey old building, no lift or elevator, kekeke! And you really don't want to step into any motel. The mamasan will drags you into her nest! Business is bad nowadays, LOL!
Ah Hua,
DeleteApa beza lift dengan elevator? I thot the same one? No kah? ;p
Wahhhh!!! Taiping, small town so bad one kah? Like Thailand kah? Oooo...must be a sexciting town. LOL!!!
DeleteAiks, Lina! Thanks for correcting me. Must be my blur eyes and blank brain cannot process the word I typed. It should be escalator~~ :p
DeleteAnd this applies to all my incorrect noun below, kakakaka!
Lift is British, escalator is American - both the same thing...like taxi is British and cab is American.
DeleteLift dgn elevator lah Grandpa STP. Escalator bukan the moving stairs ke? xD
DeleteOh yaaaa!!!! I dah pening dah, follow Yvonne's last comment - she mentioned escalator!!! Hehehehehe!!!! Ummm...like this, no potong markah, ya hor, SK? LOL!!!
DeleteKakakakakakaka this Ah Hua was having hangover and mumbled elevator.
DeleteI agree with Happy surfer. But then even if own company stairs case is not safe You wont know who is lurking there.
DeleteSome more you know ladies la. wearing high heel. Not goos. baru yesterday saw a neighbour wearing high heel fell off the stairs. Lucky it was from the 4th steps. And the ankle not sprain. It was embarassing for her. Very dangerous if using stairs.
For old folks too. Tiring and then if they fll down anything might lead to fracture leh
some more the stairs of some shopping mall are crowded with sampah sarap. Not good leh. Then the store emplyees will hide behind the stairs to smoke
Deletebreathing secondhand some is not good for our helth lor.
So better not use the stairs if there is other option
Two floors? Sibu airport, one floor and people also take the elavtor...including me! Hehehehehehe!!! Going down, sometimes I use the stairs...but old and fat now, may topple over especially if the gradient is too steep and the steps are too narrow.
ReplyDeleteI rather take the stairs.
DeleteBut both the office and my home - cannot climb up because we cannot acces office floors through the stairs. Same as my apartment. Reason : security.
So despite only needing to go up/down 1 floor, I have to wait for ages for the lfit to come. :(
Anyway, climbing stairs doesn't take long. For a full lift at my FIL's house, the time it may take for the lift to arrive 15 floor where FIL stays, I can climb the stairs and still arrive earlier! I timed my climb - 15 floors usually takes me a little less than 3 minutes. ;)
But then, have to contend with dirty stairs, smelly too. *bluek*
Elevator is available at our shopping malls. Everyone is using it. Sometimes I still prefer to climb the stairs. Drag along my kids to accompany me :p
DeleteNot very high wert - 3-storey only and from the entrance door you can see the other exit door. Yes, I know we have the smallest shopping malls here.
That's what we do when we wanted to go to the cinema on top floor. If we want to do some shopping..... nah, there's nothing to shop there.
Hmmm...at least we have 5 storeys here. I always say nothing to shop but when ladies from other places come, they will end up with bags full of stuff. So nice, so cheap, they say...
DeleteWhen the elevator is down, it is the worst steps to climb! I like to run up the steps when my mood is right.
Deletethat is different la, Yvonne. If let say in a ,onely stair case, would you bring yur kids and take the stairs? Nanti kena rob how> they harm the kids then susah liao.
DeleteHere some shopping complex stairs are behind the fire proof door. That one lagi dangerous.
for me if the lift too long to wait, i will take the escalator. Not need to wait long.
But i will use the lift if am in big shopping mall like MV or 1U coz their escalator and stairs are very far apart and the stairs case are very lonely. par par la if use it.
I hate people taking their sweet time getting in and going out...and worse still, when they hold the door for their friends...and the yak-yak-yak away...not bothered that they are holding people up. Really no manners, these people...so inconsiderate!
ReplyDeleteI hate the ones who walk slowly when entering the lift because they were too pre-occupied staring at the smartphone screen!
DeleteDei! You think I have time to wait for you ke?
I agree lina, I also hate people putting car signal to turn into a parking lot, and at the same time talking to the phone, my car was at the back waiting for it.
DeleteSome people can be so blardy inconsiderate! I really wonder at their mentality and attitude. They did not go to school kah? Their parents never taught them kah? Getting worse and worse these days...
DeleteSTP,
DeleteI'd blame upbringing, parents and the people around them for their bad manners rather than school.
People who belajar tinggi2 and have phD also can behave worse than those habis standard 6 only. :(
Ahhhhh!!!! I agress with you 100%. At least somebody is talking sense. People only know how to blame the schools...and the poor teachers. They do not know what they have to put up with.
Delete*agree
DeleteTolak point STP due to spelling error! Wakaka
DeleteI agree, cannot blame school, teachers, and friends. If really want to blame, blame the parents. Parents always every kid role model.
Delete...and tambah for the correction. Hehehehehe!!!!
Deletecorrection kena buat 3 kali!!!!! Bwahaha
Deletedo again! xD
So bad this teacher...but teacher like that lah! Good to marry one - must do it again and again and again! LOL!!!!
DeleteHolding door open for friend is not as bad lar, stp. If in a wedding dijnner or what you will sure encounter these people.
DeleteBuyt i have to agree with Lina. Hate it when the fella playing with handphone then slow slow walk into the lift. some slow slow walk...then the door close the sibuk wanna press open...then ask ...going up??? cilaka...tarak see the sign ka before wanna press for the door to open???
Lina you wanna sabotage STP ka? Corection buat 3x mean sk will deduct point 3x lor for spamming the same words
Yan...that is not all...sometimes the car wanna turn but tarak kasi signal...when we turn out they honk pulak. tu yang angry
And I hate it when the lift is full...and even before it has gone up or down, the people outside will press the button and the door will open again. STUPID! BRAINLESS! That will only delay things...and the left will take even longer to come back and get them!
ReplyDeleteNo one likes a lift that is full. When the lifts are empty all the horny couples will go hanky panky and Kena recorded by the hidden CCTV cameras! So malu when they see themselves in YouTube!
Deletegot some times when the lift full and the alarm beep beep...the ast fella who come in will pretend like tarak tau one...or they go press the close button. Haiyo....relly feel like kicking them out...grrr
DeleteAnd I HATE TALKING LIFTS TOO! Especially when you're the last one to get on and it says: "Overload! Please get out!" and you see the smirks on everyone's faces - those in the lift. If I had a machine gun, I would shoot all of them down, I tell you! LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, STP, this post is 'terra' therapeutic! hahaha..
DeleteSK, you've got it purrrfect today!
Can let off steam, is it? LOL!!!
Deletegot talking lift meh? Never heard of it before. The ones i know is those that have buzzing sound.
DeleteBut then talking lift is good mah. Especially to the fella who walk in last and pretend like duno. Really hate it. some more wanna pretend like not the last fella. wanna ask other to go out.
Just go out of the lift la....wanna go press the close button what for???? met quite a few of it here. Hmm...maybe i have to go to the Management office and ask them to install the talking lift here.
Eh, STP, looks like just the two of us here. You know, we musn't be meeting like this so often, people will start talking. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.....
ReplyDeleteYalor!!! Those people will then show up and hurl all kinds of accusations at the two of us. We are INNOCENT!!! Anyone who says otherwise, we will sue them for defamation of character!!! LOL!!!
DeleteSK, great advert, tuna goes so well with knee/leg injury and taking the stairs.
ReplyDeleteDon't eat tuna lah...overrated and so expensive now and going to be extinct some more.
DeleteSTP how la....everything also dont eat and overated? Must let people try mah. Some may like it leh.
DeleteTGIF!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday morning everyone!
How's everyone feeling today. Very cheerful, I hope. :)
Who's working on Saturday? Yan or Yvonne? ;p
Good morning SK, lina, STP, Wenn, Happy Surfer and every one.
DeleteThis Saturday, Yvonne works. I am off.
Today topic, tough, because my office and house do not need to use lift at all.
Anyway, I don't mind to take stair case at all. Frankly I love walking up and down stair case. I am health freak and fitness freak. I just love everything that can help burning my extra calories.
While I type this comment, I receive a call from my White Knight, he is off too. How nice! Yeepeeeee!
Morning Yan!
DeleteHi-five.
Taking the stairs is a way to a a bit of workout. AGREE! :)
Wah, so can have a date with Jin Jin tomorrow. How nice. Tell him don't wake you up so early though! Unless, of course, it's for ahem ahem hehehe
Good morning, Yan. True, we don't have much access to lifts here in Taiping or Ipoh. There are more in big cities like KL. We actually use more stairs than lifts. Even in the school, we have to walk up to the 3 floor or so. But now, I only use my house stairs.
DeleteOh yes, the only stairs I climb is my house stairs, kekeke~~ And I prefer single storey house! No need to climb up and down XD
DeleteMe too! Now still ok but there may come a day when I have to use the downstairs room and the downstairs bathroom and toilet.
DeleteI really wish my company has more stair cases for me. I really don't mind walking up and down stair cases one. Too bad, I am comfortably placed at ground floor now. I hope I can change to upper floor soon.
DeleteYan,
DeleteYpu panjat Bukit Larut lah! Sure sweat and toned like crazy after a few sessions! wakaka
Last time when I was still teaching, my senior assistant had something against me...so she put all my classes in different blocks and so I had to climb up to teach one class, climb down...and walk to another block and climb up to the class there on the top floor... I never complained as it was good exercise for me but during examination time, I might get to a class late and the teacher there would not be very happy. Even the students knew and they told one teacher, "Sabar, Cikgu! Dia sangat gemuk, lambat sikit!!!" Cilaka itu saya punya budak!!! Muahahahaha!!!!!
Deleteover here a lot of lift but if weekend mostly crowded.
Deletei hate the most is the see through lift in KLCC. That lift is super slow. And each time will be full of people one. Very sien to take that lift.
so i usuall walk to the opposite escalator. That would be faster,
MV punyak lift is not that bad la.
I just went to my old school.Looks like they are building a 10 ot 12 story building. Kesian the students lor if the lift rosak. Just imagine having to go from clase to another clase....cham lo... takes so long...at leat 10mins befor sampai next class...less time for lesson
Arthur Oppa finished ranting here already kah?
ReplyDeleteSo fast lose steam already? kekeke
Oppa,
come chat with me la.... xD
No lah! Had to go somewhere...just got back!
DeleteYa...my church just one storey - the church proper is on the upper storey - hard for old and invalid people to go up...so they fix a lift for them...a big one like in the hospital...also to be used for transporting coffins for funeral services. The moment it was ready, SO MANY PEOPLE started using the lift to go up. Tsk! Tsk! They're no better than those dead corpses in the coffins or what?
They are fully utilising the facility mah!
Deletelater no one use, blame church for needless spending pulak! bwahaha
Jimat elektrik...save the environment...and church will not incur unnecessary spending...and these are the people - you ask for a small contribution, they will come up in arms and make so much noise like you are asking them for a million dollars! Tsk! Tsk!
Deletegood mah...at least the utilised the lifts and not leave it to grow mold.
Deleteeh not necessary less using the lift will result in sacing and church wont incurr unnecessary spending leh.
If the lift not used for long period the lift will rosak also leh. Like some electrical appliances la. If we used already the biar long time never use, the thing will rosak by itself
Taking the lifts is not easy though. Imagine when there are lots of people waiting and the lift could be going up or down and we wouldn't want to go up all the way before we get to our floor way down. It's very irritating but patience got to be practiced here. Otherwise, just take the stairs if one can't wait.
ReplyDeletetrue what you have said. Sometimes when i wait for a few round and the lift is full or not going to the way i want , i would just go in. the wait till it go up or down ....wait till it come to the floor that i want
DeleteYou know what else I hate. The lift door opens, the people outside asks whether the lift is going up or down...
ReplyDeleteMost lift show whether the coming lift os going up or down what!
I also don't understand the ones who will just walk into a lift, because the door opens and belatedly realised that it's going up when they intend to go down or vice versa.
Then, quickly press open and go out. Kacau only!
It's like when you're having noodles at a coffee shop and somebody sees you and asks, "Eat noodles kah?" So stupid, some people!
Deletebetul betul tu lina...kena many times like. It;s not as if they cannot read the arrow sign on the lift
DeleteLike they betul betul blur sotong or what
可能人哋有原因呢?後生仔可能痔瘡發作呢! 至於女士們可能唔方便呢!
ReplyDelete有時候都要為人唸吓架。
haha i was literally laughing out loud because of the funny commercial sk though i saw that way before it is still hilarious
ReplyDelete:) nice Mecoy
DeleteIt was funny .
Guess SK purporsely post it to help us to de stress
well i dont know what is he thinking if he's about to work out why not start by taking the stairs hahaha one to two floors aint that hard
ReplyDeletei remember my friend told me he's gym instructor actually order them to take the stairs 15 times while lifting some dumbles can you imagine how tiring that is
ReplyDeletein my case im not encountering this often though if im on the mall i preffer to use escalator rather than taking the stairs
ReplyDeletehave a great day and happy blogging my dear friend gob bless you
ReplyDelete不过要看在那里,人多的地方选择走楼梯可以顺便运动,
ReplyDelete人少的地方还是电梯好,较安全啊!
nice advertisement~ XD
ReplyDeleteMe very lazy one.. would prefer to use escalator anytime.. even in airport, i use the walking escalator.. hahaha.. that shows how lazy I am!
ReplyDeleteHahaha... I walk on the travellator to minimise walking too. ;p
DeleteBirds of the same feather flock together... Hehehehehe!!!!
DeleteEih... where's Meow and SP ah? TM also yet to make himself appear here right?
ReplyDeleteAnyone checked whether they are OK or niot? @.@
lol y u no ask about me eh? :P
DeleteNever mind! We are here, good enough. Hehehehehe!!!!
Deleteso you oso got the moment of mind block lol . . .
ReplyDeleteby the way, I am fully recover enough to strike your blog comment hard!
DeleteHappy Friday to you anyways! -.- means I MIA for 1 week . . . dam I got to mass spam it and need to takes sometime to think about comment lol
Deletetalk about elevator, it reminds me of gangnam style lmao! *open elevator scene*
Deleteby the way, nice skin blog for this month . . . but the lowest part of the blog abit weird lmao
Deleteit's to show how moist and wet you'll be feeling each time you visit this blog and spam lah, KF! kakaka
DeleteGood day all. a busy day for me. no time to spam. now still not home yet. tmw blog post yet to draft. sure tmw position going to slide.
ReplyDeleteanyway not sure why the young man take luft on floir up especoally when he wanna go to gym to work out.
but for ladies i think it would be for safety reasons. usually gym is in shopping mall. many people use the lift. hence there is security in numbers
where else if take the stairs, it will be dangerous. lonely place. prone to crime. may even witness free show.
I terserempak with free show when I used the stairs on one of the shopping mall. after that date not take the stairs alone.
Not sure why the young man does that. it does seems to defeat the purpose if he wanna work out.
Deletecould b he is doing that without really thinking about it. maybe he was under auto pilot.
am sure all of us had done auto pilot at one time or another.
you sound angry wor when you talk about the young man actions. don't be mad la. not good for health. forgive him lo
Oh my God!!! The spelling!!! Muahahahaha!!!!
DeleteWork out in gym, got people watching and admiring mah... Walk up the stairs, nobody there so cannot show off. Hehehehehe!!!!
DeleteFor ladies, I don't agree with you, sk.
ReplyDeletelater become the case of oi leng em moi meang. so many crimes targeted at women nowadays . stairs is a lonely place. with thick ire proof doors some more. even if we scream for help also nobody will hear.
dont use stairs if alone and if got suspicious characters lottering around.
one more thing I hate about some shopping mall is the stairs n toilet always located in some ulu place. have to walk no body's land baru will see the stairs and toilet. scary.
The tallest building in Sibu, you will never be able to find the stairs. Complicated design...want to take the lift to the basement carpark, have to go to first floor...ad ground floor, blocked by KFC & Pizza Hut outlets. Want to use the stairs...have to go out of the building by the siude...and very lonely, deserted. I wouldn't ask the ladies to use the stairs. Best to park car outside in the open - never mind the sun. Then no need to take the lift or the stairs to go to the basement.
DeleteAlamak!!! This is so contagious... My spelling also a mess!!! *at...**side...ok lah! Two slips only, not too bad. Hehehehehe!!!!
Deletemuahahaha.....laugh at my typo la....kena the cat curse....
DeleteThe sendayan building ka? But that oine the escalator are very close mah...so no need to worry about lift
but then they should do something about the toilet la...no clear signal to direct to toilet one,..the other day cari cari....then asked the worker there and they were like got gold in their moyuth
Happy Saturday Sk
ReplyDeletewell, it all depends on what condition we are in. An old person should take the lifts and not the stairs. Also those with big baggage. If one is still young and energetic, why not just take the stairs? What's the stairs for if it's not being utilized at all? Personally, I will take the stairs if I can do it.
ReplyDeleteThis steps topic has been lingering my head since you posted it two days ago. I was thinking hard about the various steps I have climbed. The steepest steps must be the Great Wall of China which made me wonder how the ancient soldiers could run so fast on them when they were quite short then!
ReplyDeleteThe most dangerous steps I climbed was on Mount Kinabalu. It was like 9km upwards and took me 9 hours when my wife just took 4.5 hours! Anay wanted to die many times along the way! Kakakakakakaka
ReplyDeleteI climbed the most steps was during the weeks following my trip to Mount KK. I was running up and down the 22 floors of my condo. In the end I realized the actual mountain has terrible steeper steps!
ReplyDeleteHmm..... a wake up call for me indeed. hehe....i normally choose the lift / elevator to go to the 1st floor.
ReplyDeleteIt is not I'm lazy ....but merely not fit. I think I lack of exercise...so doing a bit of sports will leave me panting.
DeleteBut then.....i think i should heed your advise from today onwards to built up my stamina. In fact, at home i need to climb the stairs a few times a day. Coz i absent minded...forget to take this and that and leads to me up up down down few times.
Deletehubby likes to take stairs...coz he hate to wait for the lift. If too high, then he only take lift.
DeleteBut for ladies to take stair alone also dangerous.....what if we met pervert at the stairways ? If lift.....actually also dangerous hor... haha
Delete1 or 2 storeys, use the stairs lah... Not old or fat or suffering from some physical or health problems. I would use the stairs...especially when going down. Some lifts, have to wait for ages...especially during peak hours.
DeleteLast time on working trips, to beat the queue at the buffet table, I would use the stairs...and get to the restaurant/cafe first...before the rest who would wait for the lifts to arrive. Then they would have to wait some more...in the long queue at the buffet table.
DeleteBut with little children in tow, hard to use the stairs...especially with those you would still need to carry.
Delete
