it was year 2005 that i was sent to Dubai for work by the company, three trips each as long as three weeks.. from the initial excitement (because i've never been to middle east before), to getting used to the place, and finally being numb of the place (especially the food), these trips to Dubai can be concluded as fun at work.. after many years not stepping foot onto this piece of miracle in the desert, i now kind of miss those days i have been staying there.. :)

Good morning SK...
ReplyDeleteHeard about Dubai, but never been there before...
ReplyDeleteWahhhhhhh!!!! Got arab boyfriend there!!! Filthy rich one? Muahahahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteBIG money!!! Wah!!! How much did you accumulate from your time there? I know nurses here take leave without pay, work there for a few years...and come home - all millionaires!!!
ReplyDeleteSK is rich and left his money intact at the Arab Banks plus herds of camels for races. These days we don't hear of Malaysian nurses going the anymore.
DeleteMorning!!! Haven't been to Dubai! But get to know this country because of it's thewolrd famous petrol supplier country and the world 7star hotel!!! Always wants to vist there someday to see those amazing buildings in Dubai!!! =]
ReplyDeleteGood morning, SK and all! Wow, Dubai is a nice place. I have just been to the airport and couldn't get outside. Maybe next time, I can just simply visit Dubai solely.
ReplyDeleteMy eyes went big when I saw picture N "cheap and nice golds!! come and see, come and buy"
ReplyDeleteIf I were there, I would buy and bring back to keep as investment. Huat ah!
DeleteYou were indeed slim that time. May be that time you were still young and the metabolism rate was good.
DeleteSame here, when age is catching up, do a lot of exercise, also can witness significant weight loss. May be have to on diet as well.

Ten years ago, I was fatter like a pig when I met my wife. I ate until I bloated and didn't liked how I looked in photos. Now SK is not fatter but seems muscular after joining the gym. My gym sessions also made me looked toned with harder limbs.
Deletewow Dubai! i have a lot of friends and relatives working there!
ReplyDeleteant it is such a great place to be indeed
that hotel was sure is expensive is it a 5 star hotel or higher?
ReplyDeletei guess it's highe 7 maybe?

have a great day and happy blogging sk!
ReplyDeletetake care always and godbless you
Dubai! I always pester my hubby to bring me there because we have a close buddy working there - so accommodation is sort of "sorted out". Hehehe!
ReplyDeleteOur friend said that January - February is the sales season, so it's perfect for shopaholic like me. But when my walking ATM heard about it, he refused to bring me there, cis!
That country is so rich, the people can buy gold through vending machine. Suddenly I feel so pathetic.... must do something to ubah this coming weekend!
DeleteThey are so rich, they earn 5-digit salary and their expenses is also very high. I heard the rental for a room there is almost RM10K per month!! Crazy!
DeleteMaybe I heard wrongly, must go clean my ear wax now.
I heard their salaries are very high, so naturally the rentals touch the skies. I prefer to earn lesser and live in Malaysia where the grass is greener and food is abundant.
DeleteAh Boy is so smart wearing pure white shirt and blue color tie, so professional~
ReplyDeleteCan get to play while working... some more no need to pay (or pay minimally) for the trip expenses :)
I wonder what did Ah Boy do there, beside walking on desert and wearing the long white thobes. No camel riding? Did you get the encounter the sand storm? Heheh~
DeleteGee!!! Everyone wants to know whether you rode a camel or not, SK!!!! Muahahahahaha!!!!
DeleteHello hello! Still holidaying right? I think this is a scheduled post? Hehe...
ReplyDeleteYea, again, you were so young and slim! See can do those silly poses when taking photos ;)
I wish to go Dubai some days, heard so much about the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab already! Wanna see them with my own eyes!!
DeleteThe picture with the golds, wahhh, how nice if I can own all of them, hahaha xD *day dreaming mode on*
DeleteWah! Our camel went to Dubai. Err I mean our Ah Boy went to Dubai and ate millions of sands. You had a good experience there!
ReplyDeleteI bet he did. Hehehehehehe!!!!!
DeleteAll your photos are so interesting and you looked fit like the Men's Health cover boy!
ReplyDeleteSome friends told me that prized camels in Doha could cost over USD$1 milion and the rich Sheikhs from Dubai and UAE would grab these animals!! Goodness a desert camel is more expensive than a Ferrari. Did you ride camels to work, Thambee??
ReplyDeleteLucky thing you added, "to work" at the end of your question, TM!!!! Muahahahahaha!!!!!
DeleteSK is holy cow and won't indulge in kinky acts with animals la. Phiak this STP!
DeletesK didn't show where his office was, so I assumed he could be working in the oasis and needed a camel to reach office!
DeleteEh! You went to sunat your kuku bird there kah? How come they allowed you to wear Thawb and turban? We should address you as Sheikh Shermano bin Laden.
ReplyDeleteMuahahahahahaha!!!!....
The last photo was cute lah. Thambee and Anay have similar poses!
ReplyDeleteSo young and you have been to Dubai! :)
ReplyDelete我對呢個地方冇乜好感,因爲實在太熱了。
ReplyDeleteDubai.
ReplyDeleteI never really have any interest in Dubai. yet. As most people talk sbout shopping there. So, that kinda kills the interest.
Malls - traditional maybe. Modern - yawn. :P
I'd visit the mosque and the traditional quarters though.
DeleteThambee can help me be the guide or not?
The only shopping I tolerate are running gears for me and toys & games for my boys. ;)
DeleteI think Dubai has transformed into a modern and interesting place besides just on transit and shopping. I watched a documentary which showed the neat rows of posh ocean front homes with smiling tourists enjoying themselves! I thought it could be deceiving so I better check the truths with Ah boy.
DeleteThambee sure look handsome in the kandoura & bisht.
ReplyDeleteSepet sikit, otherwise can pretend to be an Arab sheikh. LOL
He just needed to grow mustache and beard to look like an Emir or Sheikhs!
DeleteThambee didn't get fat eating huge portions of everything there ah?
ReplyDeletexD
And smell like "kambing" due to eating a lot of it? kekeke
I also thought their bodies smell like Kambing!! Muahahahaha! I have met such goats in my gym at Mont Kiara which has lots of foreigners from MiddleEast.
DeleteDubai is alright, I suppose. But I cannot wait for your Tokyo post!
ReplyDelete現在的你一樣瘦嗎?
ReplyDeleteoh so you worked there in Dubai before... most of my relatives and friends do

DeleteThe gold really cheaper there meh? @@
ReplyDeleteThe way they displayed the real gold is like our SinMa accessories shop! Our real gold are all sold in tiny bits in trays under spot lights! What a big difference!
ReplyDeleteTheir downtown looks so neat and clean but small, all centers at the creek for happenings. Am I guessing right?
ReplyDeleteThe Hotel Burj Arab has become a big talk of the world and their financial crisis became a hot topic in news last year. I forgot which country in UAE region has helped them out of crisis.
ReplyDeleteYour desert scenery brings me fond memories of the first time I saw desert in Southern California near Arizona. All orange like your photos and nice! Anay like!
ReplyDeleteI am also wondering why you posed with the guard outside museum? You should have hugged or screwed the cannon from behind! LOL that would make lovelier photos.
