[Volume 8 Issue 1, #1658]
some of you may have wondered why i am also known as SK Thambee to this blogger who is known as Anay.. in Tamil, thambee means little brother and anay means big brother.. nope, i can tell you that we are definitely not any Indian descendants who came from the slums in Tiruchirapalli like we always joke about, but we are true local Malaysian Chinese, perhaps we just like to chase our Kamala and Letchumi around the coconut trees ala Bollywood, haha!! i was reading some of my older posts, and voila, i finally found out why!! it all started from this post of mine (read the comments!!), and since then i am honorarily known as Thambee, hilarious enough!! :D

      Delete
    7. OIC, Yende Porenge is to ask people have you eaten today. It is just like saying Hello by Ang Moh, Ann Yeong Haseyo by Korean, Konnichiwa by Japanese, Aassalamualaikum by Muslim and 你姣吗?by Cantonese. Right or not?

SK Thambee has been a funny blogger who never failed to amuse me. I could clearly see his hidden character of kindness and thoughtfulness as a blogger. I had seen too many nasty bloggers who fought and wrangled in abusive words. I just jumped wagon and hurled back my natural flair of CB words.

Thambee was taken aback at first on Anay's vulgarism. Now he is my sifu!

  32. These are courteous and respectful salutations to use. In our multiracial society, we automatically use the relevant salutations when addressing someone not familiar to us, e.g., anay or thamby if the person is an Indian or abang or adik if he is a Malay. However, we seldom hear people calling the Chinaman korkor or teetee. Strange, hor?
