[Volume 7 Issue 10, #1567]
aiyoyo fing-fing you are so cute, i can't resist myself from pinching your cheeks lah!!! actually fing-fing definitely does not like that, but yet the adults just like to pinch the bubbly cheeks of kids.. that is why we can always see an interesting picture, the adults are happily pinching the cheeks but the kids straight away get pissed off, haha!! that is why, adults please do not impose your happiness on the kid's pain.. actually pinching cheeks is just a small matter, but there are other things which i think are a little too much.. for instance, getting the kids to act like adults to sing adult contemporary songs in singing contests, getting the kids to act like supermodels in little beauty pageants, i think these are actually killing the pure innocence in the kids just to satisfy the desire of the adults themselves..

    2. True! True! So cute and cuddly. Skinny...all bones like walking skeleton, how to be cute?

    3. Eeee.... I dunno lah... I never consider overly chubby kids as cute. All I think is how the parents monitor his/her food intake and exercise.

  5. Ya...I've seen those kids singing at some grand dinners. I wonder why their parents dress them up to look like those cheap Taiwanese nightclub singers??? Behaving like adults, like real sluts, I must say. And I also wonder what kind of people they would grow up to become...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. How can you say they try to behave like adult and sluts? Definitely young performers try to look mature on stage. That is for show only lah. You prefer them to act like kid and behave childish? That won't be amusing lah. Then you should not talk so childish in the blogs la...better you and me talk like grandfathers to the younger ones Lo.

      Delete
    2. True what! They're little kids - dress like cute little kids, sing cute little kids' songs...not some sexy number...dressed in sexy revealing outfits, with all the sexy, seductive actions to match. Ewek! Ewek! So disgusting... Maybe the paedophiles will like lah....

      Delete
    3. Me also never understand.

Mines always do these kind of pageants and contests and can see how some parents really go wild "decorating" their girls like dolls.

No. Not cute or adorable for me at all.

Some more, for me - no meaning if look cute, look pretty. wear nice clothes if perangai macam anak hantu and don't treat and respect people. A lot of kids nowadays are like that.

      Delete
    4. I may be a bit lenient about my son not getting all A in exams but I will not take any "kurang ajar" from him.

Tantrums ke, bad behaviour ke, disrespect older people (even though the Atuk will smile at whatever he does) are never tolerated in my home.

      Strict? Not really.

      Delete
    5. Yes, no point also if excel in exams (I would not say smart) but no manners, so badly behaved. I see most these days like they have gold in the mouth, cannot greet uncle or auntie...not well-taught by parents like children in the old days...and all the time, I see them engrossed in their smartphones or ipads, not bothered about anybody or anything else. Not so bad if those things can make them smarter - total blank up there, kepala kosing!!!

      Delete
    6. I agree with pirate lina... eventhough the kids does not score straight A .. the child must be taught in good morale...

    12. I dont mind parents dressing kids for pagent and singing competition la as long as not over done it .

Like what SK said signing those adult songs and acting slutty.

Eh but i saw one Micheal Jackson one where the kids pretending to be him. That was pretty good.

One more thing is for kindergarten performance. I dont know why teachers like to make up the girls face with a lot of blusher. So red leh! I prefer the girls be left alone . Then lipstick put la pink. why they put deep red i dont know la

      Delete
  6. ...and those parents forcing their kids to excel in exams - school...tuition centre after tuition centre...meals in the car while on the way from one to the other. No life at all!!! It is no wonder at all that the students today are the way they are - like robots all geared to excel in exams but are in fact, quite brainless. All like zombies!!! And they blame the schools, the teachers, the education system, everybody...but themselves!!!

    1. and then, for those parents who decide to give their child a life, people will say we don't care about our children future.

      Life so free.

I rather have a child that can cope in the world, nice behaved, respect the elders, bersopan santun than a brat who gets all As in exams. Really.

      Never can stand brattish kids.

    2. See how many grads unemployed, how many working in the cities - actually supported by their parents in the small towns...what future is that? Those street-smart dropouts are more likely to carve a brighter future for themselves... I have many - selling fruits, repair cars, car aircons....macam macam ada and all very successful.

      Delete
    3. AGREE!

And after grad and unemployed, lagi mau government help them to get jobs. Then, demand high salary because they are grads. Come on la... nowadays, grads are a dime in a dozen. Sapa2 pun can enter college already.

Parents pulak, teach children to look down on those working blue collar jobs. Semua pun mau air-con punya kerja. How?

Swindle money ke, take bribe ke, cheat ke... all never mind, as long as don't get caught. More important - status as in a lot of $$$.

      Delete
    4. No job...train them to become teachers - allowance over RM1000 a month (normal student trainees only RM400). They should ask them to pay if they really want to become teachers. These grads who cannot find jobs...end up becoming teachers - you can guess lah!!! What kind of teachers will they make...and you people, your kids will be taught by them! Not that they have any sense of gratitude - not at all...anytime will stab people in the back one!!!

      Delete
    5. And give them loan, refuse to pay back. I know someone...bought a flashy car, a condo (I'm sure his father's money)...and went overseas on holiday. Dared to put on Facebook, dunno whether he would be blocked at immigration or not as he had not paid his loan...but he managed to get through. Maybe he paid a bit so not blacklisted, could leave the country! The loan is taxpayers' money...they do not seem to realise that, not the government's money.

I also had colleagues, fresh grads... The authorities emailed them, asked them to pay back the loan, they used foul language to curse and swear and refused to pay! Really no point helping this kind of people.

      Delete
    6. and some become teachers because they say can work half day. Less hours.
What kind of motivation is that to be a teacher????!!!

      Delete
    7. Those unemployed grads - they just want a job, any job...and a big fat salary at the end of the month...no teacher material one! This is really a wrong move by the ministry - it only spells doom!!!

Should raise standard - fail people in school or university if they are not up to par - last time, we failed Primary 6, also could drop out of school and find a job.

Like Boon Siew - you think he went to university kah? So successful...and his uni-graduated anak2??? Chinese say eat soft rice - no eye of the tiger like the father.

Eh, Lina. Becoming teacher not really that easy life leh. My SIL is a teacher. Say aje half day work but then always have to stay back for extra activities in the school. Then teachers have to come home mark the books and etc. those who think teacher have easy life have to think again

  7. ...and they wonder why their "smart" kids cannot secure scholarships. Ask them the simplest questions - they just cannot answer. The so-called stupid ones who do not get through the exams are smarter and end up doing very well...if they keep to the right paths. I had those with straight A's - like one who had been to England, rich family mah - showed him the map of the world, asked him to mark X where England was and he could not....

  12. How about. places like kidzania? Good or no good?

In one hand it encourage kids understand the workibgblife of adult and teach them about responsibility

but in other hands , arent it like forcing kids grow up faster?

All these quite subjective. like singing contest and stuff like that...I don't think kids are really forced to do that. maybe they have talent in that area. sometimes they just need a bit of nudge..to that area. however parents could be over excited too if the kids participate n could push them harder than they meant to.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Kidzania OK lah... that one for fun fun only and let kids learn about money also.

I small time, 10y.o. already do "small business" selling Raya cards, boiled peanuts etc. Not really growing up faster lah, just learning that life is not about ME all the time. Must learn to stand on wo feet and not everything be dropped on lap. ;)

    2. Me too!!! Sit by the roadside outside the house selling rambutans! To this day, the bus and taxi drivers can still remember! They would say...ah,,,you last time when small, selling rambutans by the roadside. All the coins, I kept in my Chartered Bank Donald Duck coin bank...and when full, took to the bank to deposit into my savings account. Last time, children where got spend money like water like the ones today?

    3. Yalah, if we want anything, we got to earn them or save pocket money like mad.

Parents won't simply buy toys for us, let alone iPad lah, iPhone lah, games la... kan? ;p

now we got cars mah.. so we have to take cars le.. right?
it is more on the technology and we can't compare..

      Delete
    6. Because parents provide...then only the kids can. Otherwise, dream on... And here that day, boy driving 4WD to school, girl crossing the road and he knocked her down and killed her... So who is to blame? The boy? The parents for not teaching the son properly and letting him use the car?

You see the cars parked illegally along the road outside the schools here, the students' (not allowed to drive in) - I quickly hide mt ancient Wira in shame... All the luxury cars, all the big big ones, I tell you. You say lah! Like that, spoilt or not spoilt! Sibu some more - so small...can walk or use bicycle anytime.

      Delete
    7. No class walk or bicycle lah, STP.

Later people will compare you with the foreign workers pulak. We only ride xx,000.00 expensive MTB for leisure not to ride around town one. Dunno ah? ;p

    8. Last time, I cycled - not just to school but everywhere! No class, no class lor...I had had a happy and successful life which is more than what I can say about many young people today. Got class lah - the class can give them makan? I don't think so... If not for their parents, see what class they have...

In fact, I have a nephew - drives Mercedes Benz, don't play-play. Class, memang ada...lives in KL, rubs shoulders with the rich and famous. Truth came out - unemployed...uses sister's supplementary credit cards, sister works half dead has to pay every month...and last I heard, he owes money everywhere - the parents forced to mortgage their house here to get a loan to pay for him. Got class lah tu!!! And I assure you this is not an isolated case - many of them out there, a dime a dozen.

Especially now, with the breakdown of the extended family, family values, moral values...all have disappeared into thin air. The younger generation today, where got like us in the past?

  13. As for cubit chubby kids or cute kids face, I dont do that.

first if all tgere is a pantang. there is a pantang that says if cubit their face, later they will meleleh air liur non stop. I Takut if that really happen then I sure kena curse by the parents. moreover I Takut the kids will cry leh. duno how to handle if yhey cry.

second thing is I try not to touch other kids or say out loud that they are chubby. Chinese banyak pantang. I don't mind la if other ppl say my kid chubby or cute coz i tak pantang but some parents really supersitious. if suddenly the kid fall sick then cham lo.

  21. Those children went to talent competition shows mostly not doing so well in study. Why I said so? because they have to spend their time learning the new talent, such as belly dance, magic, singing and hip hop dance. Where got time to study? I prefer my girls to be good in study. The rest of the activities are just there to make their life more meaningful. For eg. I let my girls learn piano, without attending any exam in piano. I let them learn art and craft for leisure. I let them learn ping pong to exercise. I let them learn swimming and singing only in long school break. The rest of the time, I want to to pay attention in study. I give my girls tuition only twice in a week. Besides, as a parents must really get involved in all their activities.

Talking pinching face of cute babies. I like to do that, but trust me i will be very gentle. I know how hurt it is. hehehehe!

  22. Thank goodness is my girls are a happy kid. They are given time to read books they like, watch tv they like, do things they like and have fun.

I'm guilty for doing the pinching all the time. I like to pinch my son's cheek, so chubby, fluffy, geram and all sorts~~ Must be it's payback time because when I was young, my relatives liked to pinch my cheek, hmpf!

    1. Of course I cannot revenge on them, they are old and saggy now. So I just pinch their grandchildren cheek, hah!

Frankly, it's an honour to get pinched, LOL~ Why I said so? Because only cute and chubby kids get pinched on the cheek!

Who wanna pinch skinny boney kid? Cannot pinch successfully also!

  26. I think I'm a lazy mama... I didn't enroll my kids to any tuition class, talent class or competition. My daughter goes to school, come home and that's it!

Oh dear, I'm afraid she might not catch up with her classmates who go for so many activities after (or before) school. A lot of parents nowadays are very kiasu, creating kiasu kids themselves.
