[Volume 7 Issue 4, #1381]
although i rarely goes into the kitchen and do not really know how to cook, i do love to watch culinary show or programmes.. saw this simple yet cute way of preparing chocolate bread with strawberry filling from youtube and thought of sharing with everyone.. especially to daddies and mommies, spend an extra 3 minutes to make this for your kids to bring to school tomorrow, and i'm sure they are going to grab the limelight of the day.. reaching home later and ask for encore!! :p

    1. come to think about it, good also lah, because everyone is on holiday so there is no distraction and people disturbing you when you are working mah.. :)

    2. The whole plant is working.... so do my end-users. Still get disturbance from them and my boss especially.

    3. Yvonne,
Got triple pay or not for today?

      Delete
    4. I don't mind working if I were paid triple times! But it's just another ordinary workday. Feel soooo cheated.

Today I'm gonna lepak here and look for kaki borak.

      Delete
    5. i don't think they pay triple for working holiday but instead credit this day to your leave balance.. looks fair but then not something that many will appreciate right??

      Delete
    6. SK, not fair at all. Everyone is enjoying the day off with their family but I was celebrating Agong's pertabalan with my boss, sigh.

They did credit the day to my leave balance, just that having to work on a declared holiday isn't that fun.

      Delete
    7. that's why i said so, though credit it back to leave balance, but we miss the time to spend together with families and friends who are all not working on that day right??

Just had my 13K run and finished breakfast.

Don't come near! I may be gassy. Ate baked beans & cheese for breakfast! xD

      Delete
    3. you were not running in the rain?? haha, i was raining in the morning!! wow, baked beans with cheese, you should have that before the run, so that the gas will expel and you can run faster!! hahahaha~~

  4. Haha, SK, you do go into the kitchen very frequently, don't you remember? All the midnight snack?? Kekekeke!

You tip-toe and ransack the fridge for supper almost every night, no?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. errr, i really don't go into kitchen much and hardly open the fridge too.. i stock my snacks in my room and eat secretly, wakakakakaka!! :D

      Delete
    2. Put in fridge, other people can take.

That's why SK secretly stash his food in his room. No need to share! Right, SK? kakaka

      Delete
    3. yalah, put in the fridge everyone can take.. keep in my own room and i can enjoy that all by myself!! :D

  5. I'm a newbie to cooking and baking, but I love to watch all those culinary shows too, practically because I love to eat, opps, kekekeke!

Currently enjoying all sort of MasterChef programmes. Martha Stewart and Rachel Ray shows are very interesting - having simple and yet tempting recipes.

    1. i actually think cooking and baking is fun, especially when it comes to the decoration part, and most happy is that you finished up with something nicely presented (of course don't consider the taste first lah).. it does give you some satisfaction..

      Delete
    2. Hahaha, in my case, presentation is lousy but taste-wise is good.

Haiyoh, I think presentation is crucial to attract the eyes. Just that I'm not good in the decoration part.

      Delete
    3. If my cooking can be eaten by my family, I'm happy already!

      wakakaka

Love Jr Masterchef! Respect those kiddos!

      Delete
    4. i actually think a nice presentation will convince people to try lor.. that's why it's also very important cos you also want your finished product to look smart right??

lina, i thought edible or not you will also force your two boys to eat?? so that's no difference right?? :D

      Delete
  6. Aiks, SK also kena the bugs from mummies?? Into recipes nowadays, eh? It's fun, actually, to get busy in the kitchen and experimenting the recipes.

Feel like going back to school laboratory doing science classes. I like Biology the most. Can dissect frogs and rats.

    1. hehehe, not really lah, i've always like to watch those culinary programmes.. yet i still don't cook also lah.. haha!! :D

  7. Can't watch the youtube yet. No streaming here.... will watch it when I get home.

Chocolate bread with jam filling, em, my favourite. But my girl dislikes anything sourish.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. ooh, but i think the presentation looks good perhaps that can already make your kids love to eat the bread.. well, it's with strawberry jam and the fruit itself as filling, can be a bit sourish unless you get totally sweet strawberries, haha!!

  8. Usually after baking or cooking, I'll bring to office for my colleagues for sampling. My kiddos are picky eaters, they don't eat whatever I cook/bake. How demotivating :(

Thus, my colleagues are my guinea pigs. If I received good comments, it certainly makes me wanna bake more :D

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. aiyoh, your kids so bad one really don't like what you have baked?? never mind lah, at least still got your colleagues supporting you mah.. i think it's nice to share with colleagues, normally colleagues are like "hungry ghost" what also like to eat one, haha~~ :D

      Delete
    2. LOL @ hungry ghost term, I agree because I act as one too :p

When I was younger, I didn't really appreciate food that much. Maybe after becoming a mother, I used to feed my kids first and ignore myself, creating a hungry monster within and I eat like hungry ghost given the chance.

      Delete
    3. hahahaha!! what an explanation but make sense too lah.. your perspective is one lah, but then can also look at it from another view.. normally mothers are the one who finished up food that kids do not want to eat, so that also make you tired of food woh.. haha!!

      Delete
    4. Indeed I'm tired of the food my kids love to eat - wanton noodle, mee soup and yee mee.

I just wanna enjoy what I want to eat, hehehe~

      Delete
    5. haha, then you have to bring them to somemore you are not tired of lah.. else you're just eating those only~~ :p

  9. The only thing my girl asks for encore is, fast food @____@

Way too fattening and unhealthy, I sometimes allow them once per week or once per fortnight.

    My 10th comment in a row!! Hehehe~

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hmmm, challenging huh?? kids love fast food but that's something parents don't fancy bringing them to eat.. well, have to make deal with them lah.. eat 10 times the cake mommy bake and mommy will bring you all have McD for one time.. hahahahaha!! :D

      Delete
    2. Wah, it's like forcing them to eat mummy's "poisonous apple". They very smart one - use the whining tactic until I cannot tahan and give up. Better "feed" the hungry ghosts in the office.

      Delete
    3. hahaha, i agree kids are actually more difficult to tackle than adults!! good also, feed the batch of hungry ghosts in office can also bond the relationship.. :)

  14. When my son was in Standard One, I used to wake up really early and prepare bento box for him.

But he either didn't finish them or give them to his classmates so mommy got sulky and don't want to do bento box anymore. Why should I do bento box to feed other kids???!!!

Now Raimie's bekal are only bread; 5 days a week. Padan muka! wakaka

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Kakakaka, make beautiful bento to feed other kids.

Children don't really know how to appreciate stuff like this. Did you do for your hubb?? I think he'll be happy and proud to show off to his colleagues in the office.

      Delete
    2. My girl has one and only one option for her bekal. Bread. But she gets to choose the filling. Either kaya or butter :p

      Delete
    3. hahaha!! i like that ending statement "padan muka".. poor thing lah raimie, everyday makan roti sahaja, but got different jam for him to choose right?? or you fixed the jam by schedule already?? padan muka dia, hahahaha..

but good also, last time when i was still a school kid never have the luxury to bring bento from home.. all i have to do is to quickly run down to the canteen to queue up for food before that pathetic 20min recess time ended!! so stressful to settle a meal in such a short time right??

      Delete
  17. Chocolate bread with Kaya also ok, right? No need to buy strawberry jam. I have some Kaya at home.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Chocolate is sweet and so does Kaya. The taste might clash, em, what say you, SK?

      Delete
    2. yalor i agree, chocolate with kaya so sweet.. better be more healthy add in more fruits for the kids lah.. no need by jam, make your own jam, wow!! see another idea for your again!! :)

      Delete
  18. If I successfully bake the chocolate bread, credit goes to Uncle SK for triggering me to bake it for my kids.

    ReplyDelete

    1. hahaha, no need give credit to me lah.. only if you can make the strawberry bread then i will be very happy~~ :0
