| 幾日前見到呢個報導, 「祭祖燒紙iPhone, 祖父托蒙不會用」, 青年因為咁樣嚇親而病咗兩日.. 我覺得果真係奇聞一宗, 前所未聞囉, 玩嘢到連國外報章都要報導一番.. 家下紙紮行業都與時趨進, 最新科技產品應有盡有, 或者應該考慮附送使用手冊或光碟先得喇.. 不過都有人開玩笑話, 燒部電話俾祖先, 唔怕佢哋夜晚喺陰間打電話上嚟搵人?? :p |
| saw this in the newspaper the other day.. the title says "offered iPhone to ancestors, grandpa appeared in dream saying he doesn't know how to use" [note], a guy hence freaked out and fell sick for two days.. i think this is a rather rare news until it was reported in some foreign papers.. traditional chinese paper offerings industry has been coping so well with technology, they have all the latest gadgets available, maybe it's time for them to consider attaching the user manual or visual aids with the products.. but there were also jokes saying if ancestors are offered mobile phones, are they going to call up at night from "down there"?? :p |

Idiotic management decided to replace the holiday to 'somewhere else'.
Pray hard they don't 'telan' my holiday.
Sometimes I really disagree with the management, suka-suka change the ad-hoc-ly declared holiday to another date.
DeleteLike last time when we won the what-what piala for football, we got the following day as holiday. Darn the management changed it to a Saturday! And I'm not working on that Saturday!! So they replied, "Nasib la". What the f....??!!

DeleteMost of us brush off dreams as just dreams - no significant meaning at all. But others who have experienced actual happenings would believe that some (not all) dreams are requests for help or to rectify a situation. I know people who acted on the rectification and have not been disturbed (by dreams) anymore.

DeleteI wonder why they need to burn such things for the dead - what's the significance? Traditionally, they burn boats/ships so they will take the souls of the deceased back to their homeland (China) and things like that. These days, they just simply burn...anything and everything.

ReplyDeleteMaybe a decade or two down the road iPhones can be offered as the deceased would have been familiar with such a gadget. A case in point, a relative who enjoyed playing mahjong when he was living would enjoy receiving a set of mahjong, for instance. My two cents.

Used to dream about my grandpa too, he was always there whenever I'm down as if to let me know he still cares.
And I will get "visited" by recently departed relatives in my dreams too. Scary or not? Actually not scary lah. Just very sad...

Lina, yeah, I can't help but to accept the gift moreover I'm in the dream. And you're "good" in getting dreams of your deceased relatives. In Chinese culture, when we dreamt of the deceased, it mean something, or so they say. I can't really brush them off nor believe in them totally :s
