Good morning world!
ReplyDeletegood evening!
Deletenow everyone can be first commenter easily because First Lady goes to "sekolah petang" on weekends.. :p
DeleteI used to love all biscuits like Heong Peng, Tau Sar Peng, Beh Teh Saw and etc from Penang's famous Ghee Hiang and Him Heang.
ReplyDeleteI love freshly baked heong peng.
Deleteoh, i love the tau sar peng from penang too!! can pop in one after another and almost finish the whole box by myself, haha!!
DeleteOh, I love Him Heang! I find the mini tau sar peng from this shop is the best!
DeleteThose 2 shops are often crowded and you need to queue up till the door like buying GSC movie tickets!
ReplyDeletehahaha, thambee doesn't know this because 99% of the tau sar peng are given by friends coming back from penang, haha!!
DeleteTM, nowadays Him Heang is ok la... not so exaggerate like you said. Or maybe when I visit this shop, it's not peak season?
DeleteSo my Penang friends started buying them for me as gifts when they come to visit KL.... Now I have too much of them until cannot finish. So I want to send them to Wangsa Maju since the Heong Peng monster lives there!
ReplyDeletehahaha, anay sure got so many tau sar peng?? sure no problem, the heong peng monster can help to finish them all, just for anay!! :D
DeleteOh you finally admit that your mouth is big! Thambee you used to put your own fist into you mouth! Wakakaka!
ReplyDeleteYou could even put the whole rat into your mouth, back home in the slum dog village! Kamala was thrilled and amazed by your silly stand up comedy! Faints!
hahaha, anay you forgotten thambee's nickname was the Indian Slumdog Aerosmith?? for sure can put in the whole fist into my mouth, and not rat only lah, maybe a whole kitten too!! and this was why Kamala was so attracted to my gifted talent here~~ :D
DeleteSK, are you kidding me? You can put the whole heong peng into your mouth? It won't get you choke, would it?
DeleteI need probably 10 bites to finish one with another hand trying to scoop the falling crumbs. Usually I'll use a plate or something for the crumbs. Lazy to clean it up afterwards.
Haha, you're right, but, my mouth is never big like you, so big biscuits at least take me 20 chews. Haha!!!
ReplyDeleteLatest: HPV and Gardasil
hahaha, are you sure you're gonna take 20 bites for that?? oh my, then maybe your mouth is just as small as a baby's mouth.. i eat 20 biscuits while you only finished one~~ :D
DeleteSo big mouth one, ah you?
ReplyDeleteLOL
hehehe, now you know huh?? can fight with you or not?? you have no problem eating Mega Big Mac too right?? :D
DeleteMy cousin pops whole (chicken) egg into his mouth and I've thought he's one weird guy. Now I met 2 weird guys.
DeleteOkay, maybe there's more out there. Just that guys who go out with women don't really show their true "talent" on the dining table. They are more gentlemen, kekeke!
Late reporting to SK today.
ReplyDeleteWent out and got sunburnt first. hihihi
i know, you are pelajar sekolah petang on weekends mah~~ :p
Delete"now you know my mouth is never small", LOL :D:D
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Taiping's heo peng? Also very nice and famous ;)
I love Tpg heong peng which I bought from the casual market.
Deletei've tried once when i went there many years ago.. i think they are more traditional than ipoh ones right?? still wrapped in papers or not??
DeleteNo, SK, we advanced already. No more paper wrappers, will "masuk angin" and less crunchy, hence we change to plastic wrapper :)
DeleteI love them too. Catch the drift? Poslaju - dijamin sampai hari esok. LOL!!!
ReplyDeletehaha, but then i can't get them here, only got them if any friends came back from ipoh.. however, you can poslaju some kompiah with pork belly to me~~ LOL!!
DeleteYou certainly have got a very big mouth! LOL!!!
ReplyDeletenow i wonder if i can do that to the stuffed kompiah too?? :p
DeleteHave to be careful what you put inside your mouth. Muahahahaha!!!
ReplyDeletesometimes not knowing what you've put into your mouth is better than seeing what you've bitten half into your mouth~~ :D
DeleteThat's gross, SK.... Imagine a dead roach in the biscuit. When you put the whole biscuit into your mouth and swallow it, you are only eating additional protein.
DeleteIf you eat half and saw the roach, you'll be puking to death. Eww....
I like the ones where the filling inside is still wet or moist and gooey... Slurpssss!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, those still moist and gooey means they are still fresh!!
DeleteThe hard ones are not nice - I mean, the heong peah filling. LOL!!!
ReplyDeletehahahaha, what other hard ones were you referring to other than the heong peng filling?? :D
DeleteWhat about you? The way you eat it, can you tell the difference? Anything goes? Semua masuk?
ReplyDeleteof course i can differentiate.. first is the crunchiness of the pastry, second is the chewiness of the filling.. they determine how fresh the heong peng is..
DeleteIt's nice to pop in the whole heong peng if our mouth can accomodate it.. Hehe
ReplyDeletehaha, exactly like what i do, total satisfaction without worrying about the crumbs.. :D
Deletebut I prefer to eat it bit by bit savoring the flavor.
ReplyDeleteof course i think i'm those rare ones that eat the whole thing at once.. normal people will savour it bit by bit i think, haha!!
Deletebut my son just loves its skin and I have to eat the 'inti'.
ReplyDeletehuh?? really?? seldom hear about people who just love the skin and not the filling, haha~~
DeleteOh, my mom love the skin and leave the filling. My girl and I would be fighting for the filling, hahaha!
Deletebut I guess most guys have big mouth..my husband eats just like u.
ReplyDeletefor one thing i am sure is that we are lazy and don't like troubles, hahahaha~~ :D
DeleteMy hubb doesn't like troubles too, thus he opts not to eat heong peng, silly him! Muahahaha!
Deletemakes me hungryyy
ReplyDeleteso you can finish one whole pack of 10 pieces?? :D
DeleteNice new blog look! Yup, I'm still reading you. ^^
ReplyDeleteNever heard of heong peng or eaten it, but a bit of Googling indicates that I'm missing out. I really need to find a good Malaysian shop/restaurant somewhere in Tokyo ...
it's some kind of pastry with malt syrup filling, nothing really special but a very traditional chinese style pastry that is getting rare now.. hmmm, but i doubt you may even find that from the Malaysian shop too.. :)
DeleteThats what I do too... I pop everything in my mouth xD
ReplyDeleteSeeedappp!
yeah, give me five!! and that's they way we should have eaten it right?? :D
Deletegood evening.. sunday night already.. so fast :(
ReplyDeleteyeah, time to sleep and wake up to face another tiring week again, hahaha~~ :D
Deletei love heong peng too. eating them can be a wee messy so its best we hold a plate while eating:D
ReplyDeleteyes, definitely need to hold a plate or something or else sure gets the crumbs all over the body.. that's why i (because lazy) pop the whole biscuit into my mouth to avoid all the trouble and mess, haha!! :D
Deletespeaking of heong peng, it reminds me of Hap Tou Sou! :) my all time fave.
ReplyDeleteLatest: How Hot can You Stand?
i love hap tou sou too, but definitely cannot pop the whole biscuit into my mouth, haha!! :D
Delete咁大件 ,點一次過放曬入口啊?
ReplyDelete一啲都唔大件囉, 而且依家啲香餅都縮水啦, 好易"入口"嘅~~ :D
DeleteWow...you can stuff the whole thing into your mouth? :p A big mouth you have there. LOL
ReplyDeleteWell...why don't you eat with a plate. I'm sure the crumbs will not be falling apart on yourself then.
ReplyDeleteyes! Yee Hup Heong peah
ReplyDeleteMy colleague used to buy this too every week she come back KL
ReplyDeleteused to be a full packet but now getting less and less the quantity and the price increased liao
ReplyDelete*faint*..... I can't chew if my mouth are too full. hahaha..... I enjoyed eating bits by bits.
ReplyDeleteYeah lah, this is a nice biscuit but very messy to eat. But I don't have a big mouth to do what you do. How? LOL
ReplyDeleteMy aunt use to bake Heong Peng in Klang, now I think is still there lol :)
ReplyDeleteFrom Perak "An Shun"
I dun really like Heong Peng last time because really dirty when eating that time, now I think I really like it because I taste them carefully hahaha
ReplyDeleteThe taste I eaten is bite it, and pull it out LOL
ReplyDeleteThe sticky paste taste so good! :D
哇哈哈哈,吃了那么久,我才知道昆仑喇叭是怎么来的,
ReplyDelete原来是Gunung Rapat噢?
不过有人告诉我 香饼=马蹄酥
正确吗?
Didn't know you have such a big mouth! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe only problem eating this heong peng is the sticky part tends to stick to your teeth and gums. I need to brush teeth after eating it! : D
ReplyDeleteSK, I don't think you can pop Taping Heong Peng into you mouth. You may get choked. Taiping Heong Peng quite big one.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to take a bite, then pour in a spoonful of coffee. Let the filling melt in the coffee and then take the subsequent heong peng bite by bite.
ReplyDeleteYou should try eating this way. SK.
