[Volume 7 Issue 9, #1530]
this year is the 100th year before doraemon is born, and it seems like there's a doraemon fever with lots of exhibitions around the globe.. in the beginning of the year, i went to the "world of doraemon" in genting highlands, and came back with lots of disappointments.. supposed i've already forgotten about them all, but the recent doraemon exhibition in HK makes me feel more frustrated.. we have to pay RM35 to compete with thousands of people to take photo with less than 10 doraemons.. but they have more than 100 different doraemons for anyone to take photos for free!! this "bolehland" of ours, a culture to simply get things done aiming for just a pass, as long as there's money to go into the pocket, the public's voice is never heard.. compared to the attitude of others to get things done to perfection and always seek for improvements, we are like the mosquito's leg and they are the cow's leg!! missed this 100 doraemons each at 1.3m tall, i should have only gone to HK now lah, hehehe~~ :p

    5. Because it's a working Saturday, so my Friday isn't very TGIF. Not even by looking at my favorite handsome Pattinson can cheer my day, let alone Doraemon.

I read Doraemon since my teen years, but I somehow didn't attracted to the cat. If only Nobita is handsomer. Kakakaka!

    6. LOL....duno la...When i was young i didnt read doremon much. Was reading Lao Fu Tze. Though it's chinese la. But see the cartoon lo. and preferred to watch the Ninja Cartoon "Yan Jie SIew Ling Jing"

  2. If one is living in Hkg or already there on holiday, then the free show is a bonus but to purposefully fly to Hkg, the airfare would not be as little as RM35, wor. But then again, to pay RM35 to see just ten dolls, is a bit too much even for a Doraeomon diehard, eh?

    1. Even if I were in Genting Highlands during the Doraemon exhibition, I wouldn't waste a cent to see the dolls.

I may be bias... I'm not into Doraemon :p

    2. That makes two of us!!! Neither am I!

    3. But then we can't say that.

when someone is a fan of something, they would do anything to get nearer to the idol.

Some turn into stalker leh :p

Like last time the final Harry Potter book came out. I went and queue up at Kinikoniya at 7am to get my copy of the book.

    4. no lah, i won't purposely fly to HK just for seeing these 100 doraemons, haha!! the cost of the trip can allow me to do a lot of things to pamper myself already.. but just associated it with the RM35 i paid to go for the one in genting highlands make me kind of mad~~

      Delete
    5. I would get mad too, paying RM35 to see a collection of 10 dolls. To pay that amount to see 100 dolls is still worthy.

But HK is offering free to see it! Sometimes I feel our bolehland is eating our money openly.

      Delete
    6. Too bad la they did not have it in HK earlier else you ngum ngum can catch the 100 doremon lo.

Yvonne. Now ah..if you cant beat them , then join them.

Pencils, pens, mugs, .... vibrators?! Kakaka!

      Delete
    2. Me support Happy Surfer's suggestion too.

Shish! Yvonne. This Happy Surfer underaged la...what vibrator pulak. Habis corrupted la . Later her parents report police leh.

Ya lo, how about dig out all your doremon items (minus vibrator and rakan-rakan sekutu dengannya) for us to see.

Maybe we can give suggestion and arrange for you to open a Doremon Museum leh. Then you can charge those fella kau kau to "view" your collection.

View 10 utem RM35, View 20 item RM60 and Full view RM500/ Muhahahahaha

      Delete
    3. no lah, i still don't have a nice shelf to display my collection, just keep them somewhere inside my wardrobe after some times playing with them, hahahaha!! can't remember how many i've got, but definitely not as many as you all thought~~

      Delete
    4. Play with Doraemon? Wow, I didn't guess wrongly, did I? You must write a 18SX post all dedicated for vibrators, kakaka! From its parts to its functions!

      Delete
    5. Playing with Doremon? what type? Lina's type ka? kakaka....sorry la . I can't help thinking of hat since lina highlighted her "DOremon collection".

But then I am wondering how the heck can you play with same type of Doremon as Lina's ? Where to put the Doremon?? LOL

      Delete
  5. There's one thing about us, in our "Bolehland"

We seems to be such willing suckers paying top $$$ for stuff, even sub-standard stuff.

Just put out something new and do a lacklustre exhibits, and a LOT of people are willing to queue up and spend money.

    Why?

The "I MUST JOIN THE CROWD" mentality?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Post-Doraemon rant post, SK? Do you feel "cheated" by the bolehland? I don't really like to join the crowd to see some "famous" icons.

It's like we pay to see the mountain of people, instead of the star of the event.

      Delete
    2. It's all for the fans la.

Those like us, we wont be able to appreciate it la.

But these organiser also no ethics. Should give something good quality mah. This one substandard quality people of course will be agry and feel cheated. Oppss...not feel but is CHEATED

      Delete
    3. For example earlier this year i went to a place in KL and they have exhibition and the have gift shop there. Got toys. Bought some for my son since saw the price not that expensive. Mana tau come back open up , realised the quality of the things were not good. More like pasar malam item. Really sakit hati

      Delete
    4. yalah, because things are always so simply completed over here but then have to pay the same amount of money if not more.. but then still a lot of us are following the trend, one thing i realize is that our sense of consumerism is still very very weak.. the consumer rights and voices are virtually nothing in this land~~

      Delete
    5. But then media advertising can be also a factor for people to go and see all these. If frequently highlighted in media saying how good it is, I would be "pressed" to see it too mah.

      Delete
  6. Well, we have a free Mickey Mouse exhibit at Mid Valley mall. That's free and should be a treat for MM fans.

Just nobody wants to sponsor Doraemon here in our country. ;p

    1. Sobs...i didnt get to go MV to see the Mickey Mouse exhibition.

sigh...saw the Plenary hall going to have Hi-5 show. Though wanna bring my son there to see but then ticket so expensive.

    5. yalah.. that doraemon world in genting highlands really a failure.. so many restrictions, so packed with people and you have time limit to see the different sections!! joker.. and the merchandize are all taken from downhill but selling at 30% more expensive.. stupid..

      Delete
    6. Those merchandise items are sold exceptionally expensive. Like the tinker bell plastic mug I got from Disney on Ice cost me RM30.

And in Genting, everything is sold a higher price, at 25% higher at least. Food especially and your Doraemon of course.

Well, those who go to Genting sure have $$$ in their pockets - for gambling and entertaining.

  9. Give me Doraemon...the kuih anytime, not this, thank you.

But then SK, you didnt know it was only 10 Doremon there before you buy the tickets right? otherwise surely wont buy.

Ya can like Yan say RM35 can buy mooncake jor. The down side is that SK will probably leave the mooncake to "fatt mou" coz sayang to eat

      Delete
    3. Any Oppa Gangnam Style mooncake this year? Hehehehehe!!! Sure will sell like hot cakes!

      Delete
    4. hahaha, in STP's mind there is only food, food and food but nothing else.. but really got doraemon kueh meh?? you mean the dorayaki (red bean pancakes) or really kueh in doraemon shape?? aiyah RM35, never mind lah, i donate to them~~~ :D
