18.12.2013 | 京阪の秋(二)

[Volume 8 Issue 12, #1839]
the japan trip this round feels like it was over within a blink and a "zroooom", i think the time i spent to write the travelogue was even more than the trip itself, haha!! the itinerary was actually very simple, first day arrival at osaka at night, second day morning to kyoto for a night's stay, third day afternoon back to osaka, fourth day we have one whole day in osaka, fifth day morning fly back to KL.. that's it, thus i am very sure that i will go to kyoto again, because (while doing post-trip research while writing this travelogue, i realized) there are still many places i wished to go yet no time to go, perhaps the next trip should be in spring, so that i can see this beautiful ancient city under the blooming sakura.. am writing about kyoto in autumn today, hope you will like it.. :)

    9. They are selective at giving out those tissue packs nowadays. A sign of slowing economy?

For instance, a tissue pack promoting a pachinko place won't be given out to me. Not to my son. But my hubby will probably be handed one.

A tissue pack promoting a skincare product won't be given out to son.

      Something like that la... ;)

  3. That's why I love researching for post-travel posts. I'd learn there are more & more interesting that I hate yet to visit ir visited but didn't realise it's historical / current significance.

My travel posts usually would make me want to return and explore more. Just like you! :-)

  4. Yes, there is always the misconception about geishas from foreigners. Geishas had to undergo strict and long training before they can become one. Yes, they "serve" men but please do not demean them and label them as just some common place prostitutes.

  5. Ah Boy always pose so budak baik style one la. ;-)

Now I learn from Ah Boy also. Pose sideways so I can look slimmer. ^_~

    6. F: Yeah, haven been here too. Tourist spot with the famous Kiyomizu temple over here. Not just you, I also feel shy to test all the food they served there. They sold many traditional local sweets snack here. My MIL did bought a few Geisha dolls from here. Not cheap too but we managed to bargain a lil bit and brought back 3 different Geisha dolls to display at home. We visited the temple first then slowly come down the lane for shopping.

    7. G: I can't remember this gate I've entered. But I remember the temple inside, we clapped our hand twice and pray, donate some coins in the boxes they prepared over ther. Very nice scenery from up there. So do you drink the water from the waterfall?

If I'm not wrong the garden is quite wide and spacious. If you went inside, there was a staircase you can see more Buddha's statues - I think there are 12 of them. You got visit to pray the matchmaking temple or not? I think is somewhere there also.

So here's to remind you all to drink lots of water and take good care!

  24. Ok, your itinerary is quite straight forward, but interesting. I like! Sometimes we din't really need to plan everything so details right? Sometimes we might encounter unexpected pleasant surprises during a trip and thus have to change/adjust the itinerary a bit.

Semi-express rail, I wonder what does it mean?

The scenery in picture I is nice, can become postcard la! Erm picture J, I don't see you go 'wild', the pose is so normal :p

Yea, I know about this praying style, but too bad I din't get to pray that time.

  25. Hanamikoji, sounds interesting! And yes, geisha are performers, not prostitute. I think some people used to misunderstand that. In fact we must respect those geisha. I remember taking photo of a geisha I met at 清水寺 last time, just simply adore their make up and attire.

    1. The bathhouse, you mean the hot spring spa right? Haha, of course no camera allowed la! xD
I enjoyed the spa very much, though we all felt so paiseh and funny being naked altogether! But those Japanese are so steady and act like nothing, even walk here and there, to them it's something so so common. We Malaysian some more use towel to cover the important part, haha!
And, did fing fing and julius went to the spa with you? Hahaha xD

  27. All pictures are too lovely. I can see you were so enjoyed and having so much fun. I really envy for stepping your foot on a beautiful place like Kyoto.

I actually bought instant noodles almost every alternate day from convenient store when I were in Taiwan.

You must be wondering after having so much snack from Taiwan night market, why still bought instant noodles? We actually just wanted to try the instant noodles there.

By the way, I tried onsen at Taiwan too. I went totally naked too. Hahaha! Just for an experience. Jin Jin took the girls with him to open swimming pool. I alone went to soak in ladies only hot spring.

Frankly tell you, I didn't feel as shy as I expected. Partly because majority women are elder than me, so I had no problem showing off my body, ahem!
