12.12.2013 | 懷舊金曲

[Volume 8 Issue 12, #1836]
was listening to radio and came across this song my friend claimed as one his favorite, those born after 1980 or those who are not familiar with chinese music industry may not know who this "auntie" is (i remember she hates to be called an auntie, haha!!).. anyway, though i seldom listen to oldies, i now find many of them quite nice to listen to.. i wonder if you realized something, unless you are a real musician working in the music industry, you probably will still stay behind the musical world of your time or of that you grew up, and you always say "songs nowadays are not as nice as what i used to listen to"?? haha.. when i was young, i always wondered why my mum often criticized the pop songs i listened to while she just loved those oldies that i found quite unacceptable.. now as myself am getting old, the same thing actually happens on me, i find no clue why youngsters think those techno/rap/hip-hop songs are cool (and particularly why they would scream and cry whenever they ever their idol), while they laughed at me listening to uncle songs, haha!! well, i guess this is purely a cycle and they will soon become aunties and uncles (just like we are now) in years to come, and will agree that oldies are nothing but goodies.. so, what songs do you listen to?? :D

    2. For one thing, songs in the old days were not electronically enhanced. The singer had to sing the whole song in one go, no slips, no mistakes allowed...to cut it on wax and then the mold is used to print the song on to vinyl for sale. Not so easy in those days.

      Delete
    3. I agree wholeheartedly that it was tougher to record songs in the olden days. Facilities were so limited and wireless technology was unheard of, so their microphones were big like King Crabs!

      Delete
    4. Old days if the singer sing out of tune then will immediatel kena condemn upside down lor.

Now with all the digital enhancement ...which one is real voice which one is "noise" also dunno leh.

really impressive on how the old time singer can maintain the high standard always. a lot of practise maybe

      Delete
  8. I totally agreed! Oldies but goodies. Those days the singers had to really sing very well to be top. Nowadays it's much easier as their singing could be enhanced. Anyway, I love all types of songs but I could only follow the easier ones. I find those loud ones a little bit noisy for leisure listening unless one is up for dancing rock, roll or even hot!

  10. Good Morning Bloggers! I also almost forgot that today is Thursday as I felt like it is Monday due to the Selangor's Public Holiday yesterday.

I have almost lost touch with new songs these days. Probably when one starts working and have family, the new generation's music is pain in my ears! Sometimes I love the techno music which irritates people but I loathe heavy metals which could stir up my happy emotions.

What aunty song this SK loved? Goodness! SK loves grandmas crooning lah. Tomorrow you might post the songs of Lin Dai and Bai Guang too!!! Tuk Tuk Cheng music!!! Muahahahahaha

    1. Hmm, I am from the 80's, I love both RnB and even oldies! Well, not all oldies la, but most of them, English or Chinese.
This one, I think I've heard of it before. I am not a fan of Tsai Chin but I love her voice, very uniquely sweet! And don't you think her voice is a bit hypnotizing? :p 她那把声音的确有点催眠的效果 =)

    2. As for this, 'songs nowadays are not as nice as what i used to listen to"?', haha, I do think like that sometimes. But I think it's all depends on individual, different people different taste. And this taste will change from time to time too!
But songs these days are more to like half-rap half-sing, really not so nice to listen to compared to old songs. And sometimes lyrics are not so meaningful too!

      Delete
    3. And 顺便一提,next time if you wanna send me personalized CD (haha muka tebal :P), you can include oldies, haha, I don't mind, you can decide on those oldies, of course not too old punya oldies la, those from 80's onwards will be fine, hmm 70's also ok la :p

    3. Heard of the song but I have no idea who is the singer. Thanks for it SK!

    4. Well any kind of musics also no problem, as long as it suits our ear to hear. Whether it is oldies, rock, R&B, sentimental, 80's lar, 90's lar...for sure there are some suits to our liking. I love to hear all kinds of sonngs not only in English and CHinese, but Malay, Indonesian, Korean and Japanese too. Indian and Hindi I belum explore yet. But I like one very old hindi song from an elephant movie. Even only music also I can accept too. Just like them here; Richard Clayderman, Kitaro, Kenny G and this old group called Enigma.

      Delete
    5. So did you go to the Richard Clayderman concert in M'sia?

    6. But I went to Jacky Cheung's concert once only in my lifetime. Shame shame...

    8. Jacly Cheung one not bad, my sis went before, she said his concert is the most valuable concert among those that she had watched!!! =]

      Delete
    9. Yeap that is why I went for it. Jacky seldom want to talk, so he sings alot. Worth it right?

If to go RC concert, who wanna follow me? you? hehehe

I have a dream and wish to Faye Wong concert. But no one seems interesting to go. The last time, I was in JB training then Faye Wong's concert was at SG. So near leh...my heart was like want to go or not? ended I didn't go, the ticket is quite pricey.

      Delete
    10. If someone singer who really worth can go la, but if very pricey just buy the ticket like second pricey or average range, then should be fine!!! =]
