[Volume 8 Issue 8, #1776]
do you often hear people around telling you that their mobile phones dropped into the toilet bowl?? or maybe you have encountered such an accident before?? if this unlucky thing really happens to you *touchwood*, would you instantly go grab something or find someone to help, or maybe straight away use your hand to pick up the phone from the toilet bowl?? okay, when the phone is picked up from the toilet bowl, how will you settle with it?? wash it clean and continue using, or still think there is something stuck inside the phone since it has dropped into the toilet before?? i guess it really depends on the situation before we can decide what to do yeah?? simple, take for example two situations where this happen before and after your "business", undoubtedly you will have different tactics right?? of course there are less to care about for that "before", but surely need to think thrice for that "after".. anyway, let's go back to the root of the accident, why would the phone drop into the toilet?? still insist to play with it and slip it because you are too excited with the game?? or too carelessly put it into the pocket, so the phone dropped out when you are pulling down or wearing your pants?? well well well, either we place the phone properly before we do our business, or simply just do not bring the phone along into the toilet, then such an awkward situation will not happen.. agree?? :)

  3. This has never happened to me but once I went swimming (Pearl International Hotel, Jalan Klang Lama) and my handphone was in my swimming trunk pocket. When I realised it and took it out to check, it was like looking into a fish aquarium - all the water filled half the screen.

I rushed to a shop next door (Pearl Point) - had it salvaged for over RM100...and I was told not to leave it charging once the battery was full or it might explode. Not long after, it was stolen - I hope it exploded in the thief's face... Hehehehehehe!!!!!

    1. my first thought, how would your handphone ended up in your swimming trunk at the first place?? hahahaha.. you placed it there purposely to pretend a huge bulge in order to attract ladies?? hehehe..

wow, that would be dangerous if it explodes!! ah, got stolen, if you knew that might as well just save that RM100 and buy yourself a new one~~ :p

    1. I have heard this several times and it was all from female victims only. Well, they learnt a painful lesson and never repeated it. Usually it happened when they rushed into toilet during emergency's call and forgot about everything else.

    2. The mobile phones seller laughed when I took my wife's phone which was fished out from the squat-toilet bowl for repair. He told me that every week he would receive such cases from female clients who are majority but usually they were beyond repair. I think it was just excuses that they were beyond repair so that you have to buy a new phone to help boost the sales market.

I don't believe that such phones could not be repaired. Even if you threw your computer's CPU into the ocean, you could still repair and change something inside to get them going to function again, right??

    3. Sakit hati if jatuh in toilet.

But difficult la if dont bring hand phone. Even in office not safe to leave hand phone in desk drawers as there might be "tangan panjang" in office. Worse still if the office hv outsider coming in n out. Yea can lock the drawer but still hv to bring key to toilet. Also jatuh in jamban or misplaced leh..also susah la.

My old office got colleague hand phone kena curi when she go toilet n left in her desk drawers.

One time I went to toilet in a rest area. Saw one hand phobe one top of the toilet. Got a girl left it. She dare panic oh coz when I was peeing she knovk the door. .I came out ahe she rushed in. Maybe she put yhere so that it won't drop into toilet bowl la but terbalik lupa take pulak. Kesian.

      Delete
    4. Errr I think maybe betul cannot repair la. The thing "sot" liao. The cost to repair will b more expensive than buying new one leh.

Moreover after masuk jamban liao.. .errr.. ..kinda geli to use lor.

    5. yeah, this post was inspired by the recent yannie's encounter!! haha.. i wonder if she would be reading this later??

yeah, make sense that majority are female maybe because men usually have deeper pockets to put our phones safely, or some ah beng even tie them in pouch at their waist.. ladies, skirts usually no pocket and pants pockets usually small, or they have to squat every time big or small business, so the probability of having their handphones dropped into the toilet bowl is higher??

when at home and in office, i never bring my phone along into the toilet lah.. in public, i use the urinals when i pee so no problem, when i need to shit i usually use the sit bowl so the chances is minimized also.. so far never experience that before *touchwood*..

errr, i think electronics are really sensitive to water lah.. can explode easily one if there is a trace of water.. better be safe and listen to the experts advice lah Anay~~

Lol..if drop office toilet not so bad la..if public area cham liao..so dirty n youcky leh

Touch wood so far have not drop anything in the toilet bowl yet. Errr only shampoo bottle dropped la. That one home toilet.
Yeahe too heard of friend hand phone dropped in toilets before.

I don't think its carrless la if handphobe dropped. Sometimes we biasa put phone in pocket do not surprising if it dropped out from pocket.

Rathrr difficult also if not bting hand phone to toilet. Let say women go out for lunch. Bring only smsll purse n hand phone...so where to put the phone? Put on table sure hilang.

    2. me too *touchwood* have not dropped by phone into toilet so far.. if office or home toilet i think still not so geli, but in the public toilet i really would feel like something if it's even perfectly clean, haha!! yeah, ladies somehow more troublesome huh, that's why higher probability of having their phones dropped.. guys got urinals and deep pocket, so more safe..

oh, always took your ring out when you go toilet?? hmmm, some people are smart, they placed their rings on necklace and wear it on their neck.. sure won't forget.. :)

    1. that's the point!! haha.. nothing to worry about if it's "before" but if it's "after" then really have to think thrice if i'm still going to use it, especially if it's not at home~~ :D

  18. But the chances of this happening at my home toilet is NIL cos I never bring my handphone into the toilet.

  19. As for pubic toilet, normally the handphone will be in my pocket. So I have to be careful when I use public toilet haha! But still difficult to happen cos not easy for it to drop out of my pocket and into the toilet bowl. LOL!

    1. yeah, extra careful when using public toilet.. i'll put them safely into my pocket else i'll hold them tightly away from the bowl.. every precaution done to avoid that mishap~~ :D

    2. I often heard it was from women's phone rather than men.

      Delete
    3. Maybe women are more forgetfull (oops, not all). So they might afraid where they put later on. So they have to chuck inside the front pocket or behind, when pull down - it easily slip off and drop inside the toilet bowl. Even if they hold in their hand also can be easily slip off. Women have smooth hand you know.

      Delete
    4. In addition, mens pant's pocket are designed more deep than women. They know men need to chuck in a wallet and keys inside the pocket. Where as for women, they have handbags to keep those things. hehehe..

      Delete
    5. yeah, i have the same thought too.. most probably it's because of the pocket design between men and women which makes women has higher risk of dropping their phones.. haha, smooth hands ah?? can be the reason also, and if you mention hands, i think because women's hands are smaller, that's why?? anyway, even guys also have to be careful lah.. we just do not want such a mishap to happen to us ever right?? geez :p

      Delete
    6. If really drop inside the toilet bowl, do you think you want to use back again after repairing? hehehe... I rather get a new one instead.

      Delete
    7. errr, it depends where and when it dropped lah.. there will be a few combinations with the factor of at home or outside, and before or after..

at home and before = will use
at home and after = possibly not
outside and before = likely to use
outside and after = definitely not

I didn't know my bad incident would give you the inspiration to blog this topic. hahaha!

This weekend I must go buy mooncake to thank my Facility dept, who helped me to fish out my drowning phone.

I actually put in my back pocket of my pants, I went peeing, then, after peeing my phone dropped inside the toilet bowl. I almost wanted to cry. I tried to get it with my long hand, but failed. Then, I called the facility collegues like a mad woman. Really embarrasing la! That is my most upset day in 2013.

    3. hehehehe, you better come and read okay, because this post is inspired by you and also specially dedicated to you, haha!! anyway, old one goes and new one comes lah, don't mourn about your S3 anymore, you learned to be more careful with your phone now right?? and *touchwood* if your S3 died in the ICU, then you will have Sony Xperia, and i think that phone is quite good!! my friend is happily using it, can take very sharp photos with that phone.. cheer back and be happy, forget about your phone after this post okay?? :p

  26. Haha interesting topic!
This will never happen to me, cause I don't bring my handphone into the toilet.
And even if I go out, my handphone is put inside my handbag, so there's no chance my phone will slip off...

    1. Anyway, let us just imagine for a while la. If my phone slip and fall into the toilet bowl, I'll immediately pick it up using my hands for sure, never mind the disgusting thingy, can always wash it later on.
I think the longer the phone 'soaks' in the water, the more dangerous, so better pick it up first.

      Delete
    2. And after that, I'll quickly wipe it dry, or may be dissemble the phone to check if the internal parts are wet, then try to on it, if nothing works, bring it to the shop and check.

Sounds calm and easy right? Haha xD
