though studies was heavy and exams were frequent during high school days, whenever it came to school holidays, a gang of the closer schoolmates would usually organize group outings.. i still remember the craziest thing we have done, was to go to Genting Highlands for a 3D2N stay during each school holidays, and everytime it would be a group of close to 20!! haha, i now wonder what's actually so great about the place, since we were not allowed in the casino those days.. anyway, still that was something i cherish a lot until today.. of course we were still students back then, and really were limited to travel within the region.. though less lucky that those who followed their parents to travel overseas (especially kids nowadays are even more lucky), i think it was actually more fun to be able to travel with mates in a group.. therefore parents, when your kids would rather ditch you and hang out with their mates, it's really just part of their growing-up routines.. this shows that your kids had already grown up, and it's time to let go them for more freedom, there's nothing really needs to be sighed about.. :) |

DeleteI know why.
DeleteSTP didn't click and look at the photos individually. That's why cannot see. :P
Cannot see you in the photos leh?
ReplyDeleteAll so very handsome one... Muahahahahaha!!!!!
Deleteyes, I always go overnight at Genting too, stayed at Ria Apartment which really has a lot of haunted stories~~~
ReplyDeleteYeah the Ria and Kayangan blocks were infested with eerie and shocking stories. I better not talk here, nanti they come to read lah!!! I will ask them find SK instead........ wooooooooooo
Deletehaha yeah the Ria apartment a LOT of huanted stories. what 13th floor la this and that.
Deletei remember the last time we went to Ria aparmtnet was for a surprise birthday celebration for one of my schoolmate's bf.
more than 10 of us sumbat into one apartment. LOL....not supposed to be that many people but we curi curi go in la. Syok ler...some more we bring our own food and cook there...ah that was ages ago
Good morning SK...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend ahead...
ReplyDeleteMonday can say, have a great week ahead pulak. *wink wink*
Delete又嚟相當年啊?中學時期的確喺令人懷念嘅日子,真係要唱首Beyong嘅"逝去日子"緬懷一下先得!哈哈
ReplyDeleteMorning!!! Morning!!! Based on the photos, the fashion styles almost look like my eldest sister age lo!!! =]
ReplyDeletehow old is your sis?
DeleteAre you saying SK is "very" old?
LOL
anyway, he's definitely not your age. :P
Not old la, for guys 30+still consider young!!! =]
DeleteFeel bad that back in my school time, I didn't really have any chance to travel around with my classmates, cause everyone was so concentrate in out studies lo!!! =[
ReplyDeletewhat a pity.
Deletethere should be a balance between slogging for studies and fun too.
I know, but for my friends, they would rather use the money to attend tuition or spent in exercise book!!! =[
DeleteParents nowadays over protective, even out for couples hours, they'll still keep calling to make sure they fine all the time!!! =]
ReplyDeletenot really over protective but rather concern as crime rates nowadays is very high. Like the case william Yau...suddenly die like than and the malay boy a few years back got snatched...hilang and found in a village with his head botak..suspected people purposely kidnap him.
Deletetime has change.
Deletealso, got technology, use lor.
I also call my son when he goes camping.
Just to check how he is. Not protective what.
I'd love it if my parents can call me as easily when I was in boarding school but that time different.
so cannot compare.
I mean the over protective which is mean those who are 21++ already, doesn't have to call every one or hours lo, cause I've friends mother will call every 1-2 hours, if can't reach him, she'll come to reach us!!! Also I've friend 27++ doesn't know how to tie his shoe lo!!! =]
DeleteGood morning, SK! I could spot you easily. Always ready with a smile. Great outings with your friends. I had outings with my school friends too but always with my father's permission first. If he said no, then I couldn't go.
ReplyDeleteI always encourage my kids to follow their school trips. After all, they will leave school and those trips will be their memories of a lifetime.
Deleteneed to ask permission lah!
DeleteThen can ask for pocket money also!
LOL
Wah! SK Thambee's high school photos! So happy faces and no worries laughters then. These days we matured working adults tend to smile lesser in photos.
ReplyDeleteI can see how happy you all were. I had outings only in primary and lower secondary school within the Penang island. We went to seasides, Penang Hill hikes and visited cemeteries too! Crazy monkeys.
DeleteNo leh? That night, met STP in KL...all smiling till no eyes can see leh? All so happy. Hehehehehehe!!!!
Deleteonly that night see him smile so much leh...LOL
DeleteSo many happy faces from SK with his specs... till I kenot see his eyes...
DeleteSK showed his smiley face in all pictures, all can see gigi but not mata la! This is SK's signature smile la!
DeleteGood morning SK and to everyone here!
ReplyDeleteIt's Friday finally! Hope everyone is doing fine! But do remember to drink more water and stay indoor whenever possible, heard the haze is very terrible now!
Ok back to the topic, you actually keep a lot of your old school photos! Digital cameras haven's exist during that time right? Have to use those films and develop them, I think you scanned those photos into pc la! Am I right?
DeleteI also don't know where I keep my photos of schooling time... But I think should be at my mum's place, need time and mood to dig them out, haha!
DeleteI can tell you guys had so much fun! And I recognize you cause of your 'nerdy' glasses, hehe.. I also wear something similar during secondary school time, so 'lou tou' one!
You guys love pulau pulau hor? Hehe. We seldom go pulau, but I remember I went to Maxwell Hill with a group of crazy friends during secondary time! We stayed a night there, brought own bbq stuff and cannot sleep at night cause the apartment was quite spooky.... =_=
Deletep/s: If you don't know where is Maxwell Hill, go Google :p
Actually old time is the best time to me. Though we're pressured by exams and all but we get together very often, do all the crazy stuff, chit chat and laugh. Now as we grow old, everyone has their own families, we hardly gather together already, right?
DeleteBut at least we have had that best moments spent together ;)
the way you said, like SK so old already lah!
DeleteOnce we start working, we will miss the old school days... that is why I always tell my girl to enjoy her uni days.. great fun to be with group of friends.. cos after graduation, normally all will go their separate ways...
ReplyDeleteThe haze is here already at Taiping...blurry and cloudy sky
ReplyDeleteSo do you still hanging out with them? Your Japan trip, you go with them also? Or different group of friends? Go Genting everytime, plan for other place ler...
DeleteI'm very happy that if my son can travel with his own gang. Mummy and daddy here can have our own sweet time!!!
DeleteGo, get some exposure, meet friends and have fun!
Why ah?
DeleteSK only went to Genting ke, that you tell him to go elsewhere?
I thought SK has gone all around the world already?
Just not really bragged about it. o.O
I know he've been all around the world... I was mentioning during his high school days with his friends...
DeleteI know why ady... looking back at the photos at home, I can read the short text below... At office, I can see one photo with text which is the photo I.
DeleteMy happiest moment with my friends was during Primary school. School organized group trip to KL & Melaka - Std 5. Of course we've to pay. The moment, can't express how happy we were that time.
ReplyDeleteLater Std 6 - another trip to Langkawi. Staying at chalet, playing at the beach, taking photos using those Kodak Films...
The when comes to Secondary..I'm was a bit sad.Because our school is based on our home address. So most of them located to other school. Well, of course we still can make new friends right?
DeleteSomehow, we meet each other at Tuition centre. Not so close already... they have their own friends also. Luckily, our friendship still remain and know each other updates through FB.
Come to Form 6, not so fun. During school holiday, a few of my friends and I went for Part time job at the supermarket.
DeleteThe most fun when I'm in Uni. I met new friends from Johor, Penang, Kuantan, SP, Kuching and alot more. I'm from UUM, we don't have to wait until term break. Weekends we rent a kancil and we go - Padang Besar - shopping, Kuala Perlis - seafood and Hatyai too...
DeleteWe were all gals that time, we are so naive, we never thought of people will kidnap us! We just go as we like.
DeleteI wonder where is all my photos... same like Hayley, got time must dig out and see back those sweet n happy moments... childish moments too.
DeleteWell, in my case I never really had the chance to
ReplyDeletego on such outing with my classmates back then
we never really bond actually haha
hmm I only did such activity after highschool
ReplyDeleteand I guess doing such was best thing for the
group to do, to establish a firmer relationship
you had a lot of memorabilia of "those days"
ReplyDeletehuh, you should have a reunion and show those to them, I could imagine the huge smiles on your faces
if that happens
you can also re-enact such photos too,
ReplyDeleteit was quite on trend right now isnt?
the joy truly shows on your smiles at those photographs,
ReplyDeleteand i could clearly say that you really had great
time with them back then
The quality is quite okay too, huh considering these was years ago,
ReplyDeleteI like that third photo the most
have a great day and happy blogging sk,
ReplyDeletetake the best of care and god bless you always
wah yoi have so many school time trips photos ah? Mine very limited leh
ReplyDeleteYou all so happy go lucky leh.
Now still in touch ka your this group of ffriends.
Mine used to always go out for buffet after finished school year but after each have own bf/gf alls like no more communicate ...lost touch. Only recent year started to contact again. Guess its a phrase that we go through la
Last time, only anak orang kaya got camera.
DeleteMe... I only buy my photos.
So few photos lor. hehehe
Carefree and fun days. Not able to spot you in E though.
ReplyDeleteThose days were a lot safer so parents were more willing to let the kids go on outings. Times they are a-changing. Parents are more protective over their children as the family size shrinks from ten to two children.
Picture C, I saw my ex-housemate Ching Lan, she didn't change much.
ReplyDeleteYou have ditched your specs, muahahaha, I think I was wearing those specs too when I was young like you. So nerdy.
I could easily spot SK in all pictures, because of his signature specs and smiley face.
DeleteSK was so sociable and diplomatic when young. Of course, now SK also very sociable, friendly, nice, diplomatic.
Do you still keep in touch with your old classmates?
I don't dare to look at my own pictures when I was a teenager. I was also wearing big nerdy spec. Very fugly la!
DeleteI love the trips that I took as school student. Nothing lavish but certainly very fun!
ReplyDeleteWanakum! No problem in spotting you in all the pixz, your smile & specs 'betrayed' you haha.
ReplyDeleteYou considered lucky can get to go Genting with frens ler. I had to stay home only...
ReplyDeleteWhere is SK?
ReplyDeleteFled the country already kah? ;p
No come visit here and reply our comments.
I want to COMPLAIN! xD
aiyoh, lost in the haze lah, hahaha!! since you complained, then i just reply to you lah, especially for you~~ :D
DeleteWakakakakka!!! This Mak Rempit is so ganas like Rurousha!!!
DeleteToday got terrible haze and is the worst in KL this season. My nose started to water so I better stay indoors and spam!! SPAMMING is definitely more healthy!
ReplyDeleteAnay very envious to see all Thambee's many photos. All looked so happy ones!!! Anay does not even have more than 20 photos from Primary One until Secondary. Sobs!
A. All your group photos seem to have different gangs! Thambee was a member of so many gang triads!!! All happy go lucky ones and I wonder how many have married with kids today? Do you still have this type of group reunions every year? I guess not as time has changed and our fates will lead us elsewhere! I avoid meeting all the school mates sometimes as many are still weirdos.
DeleteB. What did you do at Sekinchan??? It is such a boring place to hang out. You guys wore nice uniform T-shirts with sparkling STAR!!! What gang is that that?
DeleteI bet you went to eat seafood and watched the fire flies at Kuala Selangor. Anay liked that fire flies watching at night - So eerie!
C. Form 4 and you guys played with gals in the seaside!!! How come Thambee didn't take off the shirt and flex muscles? Carry bola only so sissy lah! Wakakakaka
DeleteWhere was that place?
D. I am surprised that you guys also visited Taman Pertanian in Shah Alam!!! You went to see plants, jagung and durian trees! Thambee sat down and spread his legs so wide like crocodile mouth! LOL
DeleteE. Wow! Already Form 6 and went to play water at Pulau Pangkor. This photo is nice with happy faces and legs in the air. What did you all try to show off? Who has the hairiest legs of all? I bet Thambee is hairless of all. Wakakakakaka
DeleteF. What did you do at Port Klang? I guess Thambee just sailed in from Indian and arrived to the rousing welcome of his friends. Where was Kamala??? How come most of your photos were all tight shots with no background or activities?
DeleteG. Wah! You guys traveled all the way from KL to Pulau Langkawi. That was a long journey unless you flew there by plane. The jetty is still there! Anay and Letchumi were there a few years ago. I like Pulau Langkawi very much.
DeleteH. I have visited Pulau Ketam 3 times and still loved it. We hired bicycles and cycled around the whole island chasing each other like crabs! That silly blogger A was working in that only bank there along time ago.
DeleteMy Swedish brother in law also loves the unique mangrove swamps beneath while residents lived on stilted houses! I don't think there is another island like that in this world. Thambee was so young and had visited that place.
I. So you guys visited Genting Highlands every year but never had the chance to gamble. You must have spent all the time eating, sleeping and playing the arcade games. The cool weather must be the main factor to attract visitors to enjoy. Anay loves the place but I cannot go too often cos I don't gamble there!
DeleteJ. The last one was taken at central market. You should have snapped the photo inside where the shops are so colourful and interesting. I have not been there for many years. I wonder if that place is still happening?
DeleteWhere are your group photos taken overseas with your school mates????
Wah! I'm seeing a trend now.
DeleteMust give summary of each photo SK posted and give opinion
I must follow suit.
Must make sure my score go up to lawan ini Tan Sri! :-D
