28.02.2013 | 自身安危

[Volume 8 Issue 2, #1678]
everyday on newspapers, there will always be cases of murders/ thefts/ cheats/ robberies without fail.. this place is so unsafe until sometimes when i go pee-pee in public toilet, i would worry that someone might just attack me from the back!! touch wood but then we cannot just deny such possibility and neglect our safety right?? seriously, if this really *touch wood* happens, i guess i would first tell the robber "dude, would you mind let me finish my business and have my pants on??".. but what's next i should do, i totally have no idea at all.. mind sharing if you have any tricks?? i think it will earn you good merits and karma if you are sharing anything to counter or escape from such situation and the robbers.. :)

    1. I think every paper in the world has such news except that we are just reading our local papers so we are more aware of the crimes happening here. No?

However, without a doubt, we are seeing a lot more crimes now compared to say a decade ago.

    3. yeah, of course this happens in every corner of the world but i guess the frequency is a bit high in our bolehland?? haha.. anyway, no place is perfectly safe, we should always stay alert for our own safety..

  4. I guess my tip would be to be always vigilant and alert.. like look behind your back and the surroundings before entering a toilet. If something really happens, I guess as long as they get what they want (usually money), they would leave you alone...

    1. yeah, it's really unpredictable and we really cannot do anything beside being vigilant and stay alert always.. even if we talk about counter actions here, we may not be able to act because we might most probably be too shocked to do so..

    1. Agree with Anay.

No countries in this world is 100%. There are crimes everywhere.

The important thing is to be vigilant and not be stupid enough to expose oneself to potential threat.

      Delete
    2. very true, there is no country that is 100% crime free.. even in places we think are safe, we still have to be vigilant and i agree with Lina that we should not expose ourselves to potential threats no matter what..

  13. The most dangerous places I have passed in this world were in US!!! I saw scary people all over the streets in NYC's Queens and Harlem! Even one suburb in Washington DC had lots of notorious hooligans! When I was a student I was often being attacked by drunkards in broad daylights outside my college areas. So I hired a classmate to be my bouncer! Serious! I paid him meals and cigarettes!

  15. And also, for many nowadays - it seems that personal safety takes a back seat the way they are oblivious to their surrounding. Why? Because eyes are glued to phone/tablet/whatever gadget screen. ANd not at all aware of what's happening around them.

Have seen a lot of pedestrians crossing the road not looking to their right or left because they were either busy texting (their whatsapp/sms must mean more than their life). :(

    4. Ladies always pee pee with door locked, unlike some guys who prefer to pee and go. But this doesn't mean it's safe for us, the predator will come into the toilet and wait for his victim to finish her business before rob or rape her. Scary~~

      Delete
    5. public toilet quite dangerous especially those at petrol stations!! it's not about ladies or guys now, everyone could be exposed to danger nowadays.. using cubicles with doors locked, sure okay when you are doing your business, but think about it, the moment you open your door to get out, there could be somebody who crash into the cubicle and that's it!! of course we pray that to not happen to us..

So his answer to your question, "Yeah, finish up your business, but leave the pants down", while wiping his saliva away. Muahahaha!!
