[Volume 8 Issue 2, #1673]
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S41Gfof0YLo/USHZXJNx-OI/AAAAAAAALJk/YxqpopKl5Kg/s1600/20130220_PhotoUpload.jpg" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S41Gfof0YLo/USHZXJNx-OI/AAAAAAAALJk/YxqpopKl5Kg/s456/20130220_PhotoUpload.jpg" style="cursor:pointer;margin:0px;" /></a>
the recent 7 to 8 posts you read lately were actually pre-written before CNY, after a-week-plus break i guess it's time for me to start writing again, haha!! because of the long absence in blogging, i only realized the new interface for photo uploads from blogger today, uploading multiple photos at one go is now so much simpler!! previously we chose the alignment and size of the photo before uploading, but now with the new interface it's done after upload.. for advanced user like me who is used to the HTML editing mode, it was a shocked, but luckily i found out a simple and fast way to change the size, which is directly changing the value in the URL in the HTML editing mode!!
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S41Gfof0YLo/USHZXJNx-OI/AAAAAAAALJk/YxqpopKl5Kg/s1600/20130220_PhotoUpload.jpg" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S41Gfof0YLo/USHZXJNx-OI/AAAAAAAALJk/YxqpopKl5Kg/s567/20130220_PhotoUpload.jpg" style="cursor:pointer;margin:0px;" /></a>
just change the highlighted number (blogger's default is 320) to any number, and blogger will render the photo in that size accordingly and in the correct proportion too.. now isn't that easy, and you are not limited to just those few S,M,L,XL sizes??

    2. Happy Wednesday, SK and all~

I thought that function of uploading image in blogger exists long ago, no? That's what I use every time I need to upload my photos.

I'm a huge dummy to HTML, so I usually opt for the simplest way when I wanna perform anything in blogger :D

    3. Good morning, SK, everyone!

Shucks, I keep forgetting to come here in the morning these days. I must get back to the mode like I used to. Hint hint.. LOL

    4. actually if you have been using the Compose editing mode, then this trick actually won't be relevant.. you can always drag to resize your photos, but i prefer to directly change the size by numbers~~ :p

    5. Good afternoon everyone, thanks for sharing the tips, SK. I like to edit my pictures size in my blog. This tips comes handy to me now.

    1. Me too. But anyway, I'm not on blogger. I guess it is easier and less complicated on wordpress.

    2. It's not a hassle for me uploading images to the blog. I think Blogger is really user-friendly and getting more so.

I do image-sizing on the 'Compose' mode and then if it needs a little tweaking, then I'd manually change the size on 'Html' mode. Blogger also allows image location on the post (left, right, center, etc) on the 'Compose' mode. Easy peasy!

      Am I making sense?

    3. With scripteasing of html now we can 大小通吃 *dà xiǎo tōng chī* haha. xiexie.

    4. yeah agree with HS, the Compose mode is good enough for everyone.. and i think with this new changes, the photo upload has become so much easier and simpler!! remember we have to upload one by one last time, now we can do it all at once and can even directly link to picasa and other websites!! cool~~

the HTML mode is just for people like me, doing something that the Compose mode is not capable of.. hehehe~~

    5. for me simple is good...HTML mode i only dare to use to load video...dare not tinkle with others things coz scared the whole post kaput and have to re-do.

You know me la...that time do the picture also kelam kabut

  3. I believe that STP uses the XXXL sized photos in his blog until food gravy oozed out of my PC screens. Wakakaka

    1. No leh? You use ipad, is it? I know on ipad screens, the photos do not adjust to the screen...only the text so the text would be smaller and fit in nicely but the photos would overflow out of line.

      Delete
    2. i always make my photos smaller so that my blog won't take too long to load.. imagine every post you have more than 5 XXXL photos, that would actually slow down the loading, and of course some gets impatient and just close the page, haha~~

      Delete
    3. I upload to flickr, very fast also...can add many at one go. If taking from flickr to use in my post - can do that in no time at all - just click, click and it's done. No uploading time needed.

      Delete
    4. See some posts I have more than 10 sometimes...easy!

      Delete
    5. nah, i don't care how long or how fast it takes to upload the photos, it's the blog owner's problem.. what i am concern with is the speed of the blog loading.. too many photos in a posts will definitely make the readers wait for all photos to completely load.. that is why you see minimum photos in my posts, even if i have more to share, i use the click through method.. :)

      Delete
    6. Yes, i try to use smaller size pic...less than 100 kb each coz if too large will takes long time to load the blog. Not good for readers too. That is why my pic all not clear.

I also minimize gadgets in my blog . Some blogs have too many blings blings took ages to load. When i lazy i just click close

  4. Wanakum SK & TM & All..oh tQ Sifu for the scripteasing of html again. Cool so next time no need to change the desired size before uploading to blog.

    1. I mean if Bananaz wanna change the pixz smaller than the 'S' size to make an icon or bullet point like my most recent post, would need to shrink the original to a much smaller size saved it before uploading to my blog. So now just follow your scripteasing to only change the [number] right? Kamsia

      Delete
    2. yeah, sort of lah, Bananaz so cleber!! because you only have the choices of S,M,L,XL when you highlight your photo.. so if you want something out of the range, or in between, changing that number would be straight forward.. :)

      Delete
    3. Bananaz not cleber but got good & smart scripteasing sifu. Went in and 'play' with the numbers it was fun however on new post only. Those existing ones still not cleber enough when changed the numbers the size remains the same but the pixz goes blur. For new post ssssmooth like ssssnake so what did I missed and didn't do right for older post?. tQ

      Delete
    4. hmm, i have no idea with the older posts, never bother them also lah, i only look forward and don't look backwards, hahaha!! this trick works well for me because i am used to blog in HTML mode.. if you are using Compose mode, you can always easily drag to resize the photo correct??

      Delete
  5. So hard one kah? I use flickr and upload my photos there - just click, pick size, copy url and insert in post. Done!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, it was not very convenient last time, but with this new changes, it is so much easier and simpler.. and it now allows us to link to other websites and directly import the photos..

click, pick size, copy url and insert in post?? aiyoh, why so many steps?? blogger does it all in two clicks.. :D

      Delete
    2. Fine with me, used to it already - there may be shortcuts that I don't know. Why rock the boat when it is sailing smoothly? For one thing, I think wordpress photos look nicer than bloggers...and Annay always picked on SP on his photos - don't think the fault is in the photos.

      Delete
    3. i don't know about wordpress cos i've not used it before.. but i guess when we upload photos to blogger (which they store in google's picasa), the photos is downgraded for a smaller file size.. so not really the fault in the photos like you say..

you upload your photos to flickr first and then just paste the URL into your posts?? no wonder, then it's an external file to wordpress so they cannot do anything to the photos..

      Delete
    4. Use wordpress own, also ok...but the bloggers who got me started told me not to do that as file too full or something, loading will be slow or whatever...and they told me to use flickr instead...so I blur-blur one, kwai-kwai listened lor. I'm very obedient. Hehehehehe!!!

      Delete
  6. But before we resize the picture, we still need to upload the pictures into blogger first, right? My pictures are all enormous sizes cos from the camera.. normally, i go to Paint to resize my pictures before uploading to blogger.com
Is there another easier way? If i dont resize my pictures in Paint, blogger will take a long time to upload my pictures when I want to create a post..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. oh yes, i always resize my photo because i do not want to take hours to upload them, haha!! you can actually try this free software to resize, edit and touch up your photos.. you'll love it!!

http://www.photoscape.org.. or click on the "apps: FREE photo editing tool" link located at my sidebar..

    2. Must thank to SK. I am also using photoscape to resize my pictures before uploading into my blog.

    2. I agree, uploading multiple photos at a time (like FB also) is really convenient!! That's one of the features I like the most.
Actually what you're trying to share is on how to make the photos bigger? Sorry not quite understand... :p

      Delete
    3. Normally what I did is just change the photo's size to 'large' by clicking at the photo during writing...

      Delete
    4. I also schedule my posts - sometimes got more interesting things happening, will shift what I already have in the schedule - so no worries, sure there will be a post every day.

      Delete
    5. yalah, nowadays i always pre-write and schedule my posts.. it's better than to worry about what to blog at the last minute.. once i have an idea, i quickly write a new post and schedule it..

yes, i also find the new photo uploading feature very useful.. now can upload multiple photos, so convenient!!

    6. If I have time, I would love to pre-write and schedule my post in a week earlier. Too bad that I don't have such luxury time to do that. So most of my posts were written and published immediately.

In future, when my workload is getting heavier, I may need to do pre-writing and scheduling posts from home.
