10.06.2013 | 好朱古力

[Volume 8 Issue 6, #1734]
we love chocolates don't we?? but of course this fridge full of chocolates isn't mine (though i wish it was, haha!!).. are you one who would habitually, or having such mentality to, place all your chocolates in the fridge?? hmmm, i actually hate that, i love chocolates to melt in my mouth, but if it's kept in the fridge, it gets all harden and tastes like rock, potong stim lah!! as long as you keep it away from direct heat, it will survive perfectly under room temperature, moreover most chocolates are added with stabilizer nowadays so they don't melt easily.. of course i have no idea about expensive chocolates from chocolatiers, i can't afford to buy those, haha!! BTW, i do keep opened packets of snacks in the fridge so that they won't go stale, or bread expiring soon in the freezer so they can be kept longer (after all put them in toast and they are still good).. okay, looking at this fridge full of chocolates, i'm going to get some to enjoy now~~ :D

  2. I keep chocolates in the fridge because I believe ants wont attack them in there. I have this mentality that food left in the open will attract ants, no matter what they are so fridge is always the safest place :D

    1. I have the same thinking, too, Merryn. Open-aired item will kena ambushed by the ants and lizards. If I have unfinished food, I usually will find an air-tight box to keep them. This goes to bread, cakes and biscuits, although some don't really need to be air-tighted.

  4. Good morning, SK and all! Wow, look at those chocolates! Well, I don't believe putting chocolates in the fridge. If it's really too soft, I would just put in for a short while. If it's left in the fridge for too long, I would just take it out and let it for a while so that it has soften a bit. I always prefer soft chocolate than harden ones.

    1. But I do put bread in the fridge if it's almost expiring and I couldn't finish it on time. If that's the case, I would toast the bread before I consume it. Otherwise, I usually take bread without toasting.

    2. Sometimes I do put biscuits in the fridge. I like harden biscuits. But I have a small fridge solely for my Fitline supplements which are in powder form. Just to keep them fresh and prevent them from hardening.

  6. I like the feel of soft oozing chocolate in the mouth. Gosh, does this sound obscene? haha..

We all know that chocolates have a certain ingredient that makes us happy, let's not go into scientific terms and all. Suffice to say that no wonder so many people love chocolates - for that feel-good feeling. On the other hand, it can't be psychological, can it? Happy Monday!

    1. Why annay put chocolate in freezer? Put in the fridge area is enough, no? I don't store chocolate at home, maybe a few bars of kit kat. The consumption rate at home is very low, usually I'm quite full after dinner and no time for snacking.

I store all my chocolate supply in my office drawer. But now it's quite hard to snack because I've got eyes peeping behind, remember?

    2. Kesian Ah Hua,

    12. It's nice.

You all talk like Green Tea kit-kat is the best Japan has to offer. Sure, it's interesting. But as I'm sure you know, Japan comes out with seasonal flavour Kit-Kat other than the green tea too.

Just saying chocolates in Japan is nice because of that one green tea flavour doesn't do justice to the chocolate industry in Japan!

Hey! This is the country who clebrates Valentine's Day and White Day! ;)
