31.01.2013 | 雞肉漢堡

[Volume 8 Issue 1, #1662]

stop flashing the burger!! show me photo: [1] [2]
a friend came to KL last weekend and a few of us had dinner together, wanna have some oink-oink but was disappointed that the restaurant has closed down, so we went to another one in a mall nearby.. ordered for myself a grilled chicken burger (yay, grilled CB, hehe!!) and was impressed by its size and the sides (as the description on menu wasn't attractive at all).. the salad was nicely served in a little pot, fresh and crunchy with just enough italian dressing sprinkled with pine nuts.. the chips was a big surprise, as i thought it couldn't be more than fries but nope, those were very nice crispy sweet potatoes and yam chips, i enjoyed them so much.. the burger was hugely stacked with one heavy chunk of grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and feta mash, herb mayonnaise and turkey bacon between two black-and-white-sesame buns.. of course with such a huge burger, i ate it layer by layer, but this way the chicken is a bit dry, guess it would taste better if the burger is eaten as a whole.. overall i enjoyed this burger and think it's good, at RM24 (drinks not inclusive) i have no complaints since the friend paid for the bill, haha!! :p

Food porn today, as SK is running out of idea what to blog? Hehe~

That burger is humongous! Ah Hua needs to share it with a friend, otherwise Ah Hua's friend will need to carry Ah Hua after the meal - I'll be too full to finish the whole burger~~ :p

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ah Hua is really a small eater and used to share a piece of cheesecake with a friend when we lepak at Starbucks. As for the fast food McD burger, I would order ala carte burger, as I couldn't finish the fries which comes in set.

      Delete
    2. Happy morning people...
Wah big burger.. that is nice..
The only one problem is that my mouth not big enogh to fit everything inside..

Meow, eih, till now i still haven't tried that burger kaw kaw!! it's just less than 5 minutes walk from my house!! me so outdated lah~~

      Delete
  6. Wow it huge and the price also huge. Perhaps its mindset that play about with comparing the normal common fast food burger. This one is a BIG difference.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. actually if you compare to the fast food burger, this is actually not expensive.. considering how small and paper-thin the meat patties of a fast food burger, this one comes in a huge stack!! do the maths and probably it's about the same prize~~

      Delete
    2. This is expensive and the normal fast food prices are daylight robberies!

      Delete
    3. But I like Carl's Jr burgers. Expensive than McD but better quality.

McD ones... cheh. Noticed how small the patties are now? So thin also.

Don;t get me started on the overpriced prosperity burgers.

      Delete
    4. I don't like prosperity burger. too much pepper and ecpensive. this one Mahal but at least the meat is there la. the tm24 nit only for the burger la. for presentation too. the one in fast food will senget and mrssy. sone more the vegetable sure layu ones.

      Delete
    5. yeah, the fast food restaurants keep increasing their price like twice in a year.. and yet the portion becomes smaller and smaller.. like that doing the match, this RM24 CB may even be cheaper than the RM10 GCB lah..

ooh, i don't like the prosperity burger too!! too much pepper and all i can taste is the pepper only.. and yes, expensive also lah..

      Delete
    6. I think Carl's Jr. Burgers are one of the best in town. A bit robbery price but the taste is so good that you will forget the price.

      Delete
  7. RM24 is for a set meal or just the burger? I noticed you had plain water only? No drink is included in the set?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Plain water at such places also not free... 50 sen? RM1.00? Wait a minute! I think in the coffee shops, also not free - will have to pay for it...and it all comes from the tap. Tsk! Tsk!

      Delete
    2. RM24 is for that whole plate of dish (burger, salad and chips), drinks are not inclusive..

STP you are wrong, the plain water is served for free, and is served once you are seated, no extra charge.. at least better than those coffee shops that charge you RM1 for a glass of plain water huh?? :p

      Delete
    3. yes I remember they dudvthat too when I had breakfast there. service was good. sit down aje they put a long neck bottlr of water and two glasses for the plain water . no extra charge.

      Delete
    4. yalah, i think the plain water already charged into the RM24 CB lah..

      Delete
  8. The chips is served in a tin, so unique! *I think I'll be full after the eating the chips*

The overall presentation is very nice, usually they don't bother about presentation and dump everything on the plate and serve you. Such a turn-off~

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yeah, the presentation is superb!! that you cannot find with fast food chain lah, they make only Big Mess (pun intended) for you~~ and the chips gave me a pleasant surprise.. i thought i would be eating french fries, but these chips are just so nice..

      Delete
    2. I think it is the potato chips..
      not the french fries..

      Delete
    3. i thought they will be serving french fries with the burger, but surprisingly, it's homemade chips (sweet potatoes and yam) that i really enjoyed eating a lot!! fat fat fat~~

BTW, is this called kerepek in Malay?? and what's the difference between kerepek and keropok??

      Delete
    4. I suka those purple keledek chips. Yummy.

Last time I went there, I "helped" wallop my colleagues portion also. wakaka

      Delete
    5. Kerepek is those make of banana, potatoes, keledek while keropok usually from seafood like fush, prawn, Sotong etc.

cham...now I keep thinking wanna go plan b pulak...food. servi e nice there but a bit expensive for me.

    6. Like that ke Meow.

I only know now. Thank you Meow. :)

      Delete
    7. hahaha, i was expecting Lina to answer me that question!! now Meow pulak yang give me the explanation, hehehe!! thank you Meow, i am made clear now.. so i can say Plan B served me very nice kerepek keledek, i love them so much..

  10. RM24!!!! *faints* Wah!!!! You people all so VERY rich one, going for all the VERY expensive stuff. *envy* Poor me, here...eating my RM2.50 kampua... Sobsssss!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. eih, we don't even have RM2.50 kampua here, at least selling at RM4.50.. but then comparing this RM24 burger with those of fast food at RM6, you do the maths.. this huge stack of burger may not be more expensive than those small fast food burger with paper-thin meat patty.. anyway, i don't care, cos someone else paid for it, hahaha!!

      Delete
    2. I agree it is expensive and that rich man is SK Thambee alone lah. He can invest any price for good food.

      Delete
    3. Don't tell us everyday also eat kampua noodles?
later berak also see kampua noodles...

      Delete
    4. SK said Kampua Noodles has hidden secret that can give STP perfect eyesight, no need sunglasses, and old flower specs also.

You believe? Kampua Noodles has hidden fat that one I know.

      Delete
    5. SP, what you eat every day does not come out every day when you berak kah? OMG!!! You need laxatives...or must cucuk enema laio lor....

      Delete
    6. sometimes, once in a blue moon, we can just pamper ourselves with good food lah.. like Anay's motto "eat first worry later, buy first worry later".. of course cannot afford to have them more often lah, even so rich to afford, you will also feel bored eating the same thing.. hahaha!!

LOL!! berak kampua noodles everyday?? but like Mak Yannie says, kampua has lots of hidden fats, so never worry about it not coming out, no need laxatives lah, the hidden fat is enough to make it smooth~~ :D

    7. Cannot compare apples with oranges.

Same as cannot compare makan at a cafe with RM24.50 with makan roadside burger at RM3.50.

Compare makan noodles at Din Tai Fung (eh, apa Din Tai Fung sell ah?) with makan noodles at food court also not fair. xD

      Delete
    8. Lol @Lina's comment. ya cannot compare as two are different things.

even if we have kampua here, the price wobt be the same la as the cost of things are higher here.

      Delete
    9. yalah, not fair to compare like that lah.. cannot compare RM2.50 kampua with RM24 CB mah.. if must compare then must be kampua to kampua and CB to CB, haha!!

Din Tai Fung is not halal if i am not mistaken?? it's famous for it's "xiao long bao" (mini soup dumplings) and chinese style ramen..

you think free ah? 2. yeah, because we are Islamic country (or rather I shall say Islam is biggest religion here), so we do not have pork bacon that commonly in restaurants.. and because there are also a huge population of Buddhist who doesn't eat beef.. so turkey bacon is the best choice to suit the larger market.. :)

    3. Yannie, no problem at all.. you can say ANYTHING about my food posts.. all about negative things like you are a health freak, you are on diet, you can't afford to eat this set and etc.. i will not get mad at all like the jumbos.. i am open to any kind of comments lah, and furthermore, this blog is always famous for nonsense and crap comments right?? hahaha~~

hahaha, don't worry too much about having too much cookies lah, that will make your life more miserable.. human needs to be relax sometimes, and that's during CNY where you go all wild and crazy~~

hey, i am trying to be a proper food blogger with this post lah.. of course i need to be very detailed to tell everything i have eaten, professional food bloggers do that right?? :D

    4. Look at how I posted all my food?? Like junk food blogger la Anay! Muahahahaha....!

    5. SK, one different I noticed between your food post and the food bloggers' post - they snap many many angles of the food and post in the blog all those photos! Horrible! It takes hours to complete the loading! You only have 1 photo or 2 (in this case) :)

    6. Yan,
You can always say : No, thank you SK. Your food doesn't entice me. Food in Taiping better. ;P

    7. lina, actually, Yannie is a very cheapo, if the food is so expensive and it is free treat, I won't say "No thank you" or "I will give it a pass". I will just say thank you and slowly finish all the food.

Of course I have my own favourite food, but I am also a very cincai person, especially towards food. Everything can put inside my mouth one, I will wallop.

    8. Tan & Tan, we are not professional food bloggers lah, so i think readers will excuse us on the food photos and also the way we write about food lah..

Yan, of course you can always say "No, thank you SK. Your food doesn't entice me. Food in Taiping better." like what Lina suggested lah.. i am perfectly okay with that lah, hahaha!! haiyoh, cannot cincai put anything in your mouth lah, later become a Jumbo Hippo, then not sexy already~~ :D
