DeleteGood morning HS....
ReplyDeleteGood morning, granny TM~~
DeleteGood Morning Yvonne! Happy Monday!
DeleteHello ppl...
DeleteI am back from my trip and it was damn tiring...
Writing letters was my chore and no letters to mummy, no money sent to me. I had to write every week like 4 pages minimum.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wise mommy! Good morning there, T-Man!
DeleteHahaha, next time I'll set rules to my kids - send me email, reporting from Monday to Sunday, then only I send money to them, kakakak!
DeleteTM, your mummy is really smart. I must learn from her too. No letter no money.
DeleteThese days, I type... Use Second Grader (font) so it looks like something handwritten. LOL!!!
DeleteMy mum was smart and cunning, no one could cheat her.
DeleteLast time, when I was in boarding school, I sent letters to my parents but stopped when I was in Form 3.
DeleteI changed school in Form 3 and was very unhappy at the new school. But my parents will joke about my letters. I so sad so I stopped writing about my feelings to them from there on. :(
But I still call them asking for money! LOL
Yourmom is very wise, TM. next time I also wanna do that . no letter no meney. maybe I should set min words in the letter. one sentence ten sen
DeleteMeow, cannot set like that - one sentence ten cent. Later your kitty will write one sentence, multiple with thousands time.... kekeke~
DeleteTM, come give me your momma's phone number. I want to befriend her. Can learn a lot of tips and trick to handle problematic children, muahahah!
Delete.out of topic a bit - today the new rm with new design will n distributed.
DeleteMust ask SK help a bit lo to write program to scann the boy's letter must not hv repeated sentence. each sentence must hv at least 5 word else no money will b gi en LOL
Deletehahaha!! folks, you know what?? after reading this, it makes me feel like we are spamming here, trying to write long sentence with repeated words.. one comment got 0.1 point all going for the score and ranking and prizes, hehehehe!!
Deletegee you have to write letter and your money only pay you?
Deletewat happen if the mail got lost or delay in reaching? then annay you everyday makan roti kosong with dhal?
We used to aim beating each other on the length of the letters. Thank goodness for technology?
ReplyDeleteYes, I had one too... Over 10-20 pages. Sometimes have to pay extra postage - overweight! :(
DeleteSo many pages? my letter is around 3-4 pages
DeleteMy first pen pal was a Korean when I was 11 years old. I still keep his letter and didn't know what the heck he wrote! Kakakakakakaka
ReplyDeleteHow do you communicate with him then?
DeleteYou should scan his letter and blog about it. Maybe someone can volunteer to translate it :D
Mine was Uganda, Africa. Still keep the first day covers he sent...and some souvenirs too.
DeleteThat Korean wrote in 'ENGLISH' but I was not sure what he was talking, kekekekeke
DeleteI got a Japanese oyaji writing (emails) to me and I can barely decipher what he actually meant to say most times though if it is translated directly to Japanese, then all things cleared up. LOL
DeleteTM, you don't understand Korean's English?? Wakakaka, I can imagine you must be scratching your head trying to understand the letter!
DeletePlease share the content (if you don't mind), I want to scratch my head too :D
Understandable la if around 11 yrs old they can't write properly.
Deletethere was an exchange student fr Japan came to my secondary school. gosh..he speak English but we had a hard time understand him coz the accent very strong n he talk like..my name is..I am xx yrs old ..I come fr...
Expected la at that age the English is mostly direct translation from own language.
DeleteI had one US penpal. I don't know what is worse..his English was full of slang . had hard time understanding him. needless to say that penpal didn't last long. LOL
ur penpal is a HE?
Deletehahahaha ........
Wei, SP... what's wrong if is a HE? You think TM only target on girls? Kakakaka
DeleteI'm very lazy to write letters. My composition is no good, my writing skill sucks.
ReplyDeleteI had a few pen-pals back then, But I only wrote to my aunt.
ReplyDeleteNon of my pen-pals lasted. You got it right, I ditched them :p
awwww... I am of those that got ditched la ..not by u but by some penpal.
DeleteI can't remember much about the content of the letters I wrote, but one thing I remember clearly was, I wrote to a pen-pal about the school concert performance.
ReplyDeleteI told her/him (I can't even remember my pen-pal was a she or he!!) I'll be singing a Paula Abdul's song.
DeleteThen she/he started replying my letter, addressed to Ms Paula Abdul :s and hell no one in the house knows who was Paula Abdul...
DeleteWell, of course we know Paula Abdul, she's so famous back then, but we don't know who was the receiver of the letter.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin was so curious he ripped of the letter and read it. And everyone began to call me Paula Abdul. Seriously, I hate it.
DeleteI think I discontinued befriending my pen-pal.
lol! Ms Paula Abdul, you got great taste since young. She is not the judge of American Idol. So cool! Ms Paula Abdul. Wakakakaka!
DeletePaula Yvonne!!! Woots!
Deleteaww that must have been awful kena tease like that
Deletewah Lau eh....so many singers in blogosphere.
我啲筆友都冇聯絡咗...真係可惜...
ReplyDeleteLast time I also got pen-pal. Got that pen-pal thing going on, where you pay RM3, then tranfer the payment then sometime later, you got addrresses of your prospective pen-pal. What was it called, ah? Anyone remember?
ReplyDeleteYou paid the Pen Pal Pimp RM3 just for an address!!
DeletePen pal pimp?! Wakakaka! I don't remember paying any payment.
DeleteI usually get the name & address in the magazines.
Nope. I didn't know abt that
DeleteI got mine from Malaysian Post. can put name there for rm2. Now Malaysian post taken over by The Sun
yes, i remember that but can't recall what is that program called.. basically pay US$1 (that time US$1 is like RM2.50 only), you choose 5 countries where you would like your pen pal to come from, and then they will do the match making and reply you with 3 addresses.. i wrote to a couple of pen pal from HK, Norway etc.. but i think only lasted for a few letters and then the communication stopped..
DeleteI love writing letters. I can write pages and pages of it, but then I stopped because I guess most of my friends were too busy to reply to my mails. huhuhu
ReplyDeleteSame here, Lina. kinda slowly stopped when started working. now still hv a handful of my penpal in my fb.
DeleteMeow, you tracked back your penpal in your FB? Wow~ that's great! I've lost contact with mine more than 20 years ago!
DeleteNowadays, I got blog to write to. hihi
ReplyDeleteAnd I barely answer SMS, e-mails let alone letters. ;p
How la to answer letters nowadays as all penpal gone. or most hv become fb pal LOL
Deletehaha i do have a pen-pal last time and still keep in touch with her till today :D
ReplyDeleteLatest in room8five: Golden Road to London - Dato' Lee Chong Wei
Good morning, everyone!
ReplyDeleteThose were the days!
ReplyDeleteI still write postcards though..
ReplyDeleteLast time I seldom write postcard coz feels like there is no privacy.
Deletewell, I don't write much on a postcard..
Deletethose days, they even had aerograms..
ReplyDeleteI used this A LOT! :)
DeleteYes that is much cheaper. I use that too last time
Deleteyes, cheap and I used to squeeze all my writings all over the page.
DeleteI wrote lots of letters to my boyfriends then..
ReplyDeleteBoyfriends, plural form XD
DeleteWah, wenn got a lot of boyfriends~~ :p
wooo! Wenn so happening! :)
Deletehaha..those were the days..
Deletenot anymore..now just email, sms or call..
ReplyDeletesame here . Now the only letter that needs writing or send out is offical letters. Even those are of the minimum.
Deletetrue..just fill in those forms and send them.
Deletemy brother used to write a lot to me last time.
ReplyDeleteSince SK is talking about writting letters, I had pen-pals, but not lasted long.
ReplyDeletesame here. Mine lost contact after started working. Each have own life
DeleteAll lost contact in one or two years time.
ReplyDeleteThen, my husband and I started our relationship through writting letters one. It was so sweet.
ReplyDeleteWah... sure got romantic love letters when you were sending them to each other.
DeleteHow sweet. :)
UIks...so nice :)
DeleteOne of these days, I must dig out all his letters to me, then blog about it, but I scare my readers will catch a cold.
Deleteas for me, I hv thrown all those letters away.
DeleteI still kept those letters and bookmarks that he sent to me. So lovely.
ReplyDeletebut still keep cards..
DeleteI was studying in KL, he was working at Perak. Then we started by writing letter only once a week.
ReplyDeleteAll the contents in letter were all so sweet and could make me happy to the max.
ReplyDeleteWe still each other letters until today. I won't allow him to throw my letters. I must go back to check tonight, see whether he has thrown my letters away.
ReplyDeleteWhy throw. If its me, I also would keep it and once in a while will read it and probably smile and laugh when reading. ;)
Deletemust keep la. But away from the reach of the kids lo :p
DeleteAs for now, I still send cards to my Aunty in Australia.
ReplyDeleteI have several pen pals during secondary schooling time (know them thru Galaxie magazine, haha so old school :P), but all lost contact already..
ReplyDeleteLeft one now, we still email each other very often ;)
I go way back, long before Galaxie...we had Fanfare and in school, we had The Crusader.
DeleteYes, I met up with my pen pals - those nearer ones, of course.
ReplyDeletegot bring red flower to meet up penpal ah so that can recognise? LOL
DeleteHad one in Africa. Of course, I did not get to meet him. He's in the US now. His daughter dropped by my blog and commented in one of my posts...on pen pals and I mentioned him.
ReplyDeleteLove meeting my blogger friends...but some, for reasons known only to them, would not want to meet - dunno why. You know why, [SK]? I've never had the chance to meet you...yet.
ReplyDeleteI also would love to meet up with fellow bloggers.
DeleteBut SK never want to meet me again woh. Maybe I am so boring! huhuhu...
SK THAMBEE is a very shy person and spoke no more than 10 words with me!!! Phiak! Slapped his head and he uttered more Tamil words out.
DeleteKakakakaka!
Anay!
DeleteAsk itu Thambee gather-gather with us lah!
Drag him with rope if you must! LOL
What???? SK is a shy person. Didn't know that wo!
Deletemust be SK very shy la. .
DeleteOne of these days we must gang up and serang his house
SK is just like a shy boy, so cute ho!
DeleteSK is a shy person, means Kamala court him, and not he court Kamala one.
DeleteHe shy kah? Doesn't look like he's shy leh... Looks quite hamsup one... If I were a lady, I would not want to go and meet him alone...Hehehehehe!!!!
DeleteSK shy shy cat. Hahaha
DeleteHey, you are born under the penpal era?? hahaha.. as for me, I am one of those who put their names in the papers requesting for pen pals! Indeed you are very right.. i could write for pages to my pen friend and after i sent out, I would be anxiously waiting for the postman to come with the reply a few days later.... those were the days! My faithful pen pal and I still keep in touch through gmail though we never write long letters anymore... it would be a shock if we still do.. hahaa...
ReplyDeleteya put name and address in newpaper. Last time I put at Malaysian Post. Now the paper dah taken over jor.
DeleteAt one time I had loads of penpal. nearly everyday also will have letters
ReplyDeleteBut some after 3-4 letters will be gone. Guess found that we doesnt have anything in common
ReplyDeletewhile some, after exchange photo straight no more reply :(.....sobs sobs...

Deletenow whatever left of my penpal have gone to be emal or FB friends.
ReplyDeleteeach also busy and FB is much easier.
Can;t really recall what we all wrote about . First letter usually intro and 2nd letter about family members... after that don;t know what to write jor.
ReplyDeleteFor those ngum key one will be exchange photos and talk about school.
I still remember i have one penpal and we exchange school exam papers as we were in the same year.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did meet up with penpals. I still remember we usually meet up in KL around Kotaraya area.
ReplyDeleteThere was one penpal who stood me up. Maybe chicken out the last minute.
Usually when i meet up penpal, i will bring a friend along. What about the rest of you?
ReplyDeleteYou went alone or with friends?
But now, don't ask me to write letter. I am too lazy to write.
ReplyDeleteI can type lenghty email, but not write a lengthy letter. So weird ho??
ReplyDeletehaha well i already did send some letters way back then i send it to my grand parents at america
ReplyDeletebut since we are now connected at FaceBook thanks good it'll be less hustle and convenient
ReplyDeletegood day sk have a great week a head
ReplyDeleteI still remember my pen pal! last time we find ppl to write letter to from magazines! ^_^
ReplyDeleteMy mother has kept all the love letters my father wrote to her. I wonder how many people would keep "love emails" or "love Tweets" for several decades ...
ReplyDeleteWe live in a disposable world. Everything, inculding love can be discarded.
DeleteI don't love letters as I saw my boyfriend (now hubby) practically everyday!
But I have every single card he gave to me! ^^
wow, so much were written about this topic.
ReplyDeleteI had a pen pal once when I was in Form 4. Then I stopped when I was in Form 5 as I needed to prepare for my exam.
ReplyDeleteI still keep those stuff that she had sent me.
ReplyDeleteI tried to find her in facebook but unsuccessful.
ReplyDeleteI even had malaysian pen pals but it was not for long too.
ReplyDeleteThose days, I could really write.
ReplyDeleteMy grandma always asked me to write to my uncle on her behalf when I was still schooling.
ReplyDeleteAs for now, I hardly write much. Time constrain.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight everyone and stay happy!
ReplyDeletewhen I know nothing about the Internet, we used to write letters to our relatives in order to keep in touch with them
ReplyDeletebut we're actually doing the same thing... because our uncles are not so familair with the internet and even they have email addresses, they don't know how to use it LOL that's why they still prefer mails
ReplyDeleteyeah.. my mom told it to me several times about their penpal days. she used to compare how better the penpal than the textmate and chatmate is haha
ReplyDeleteI never tried penpal but I was able to send love letters to the girl I'm courting before ♥♥♥ hahaha
ReplyDeletemy zaman that time already very heng in MSN, so end up I didn't really writes any letters zzz

ReplyDeletein fact, I had pasted the stamps last night. Wanted to write the addresses but didn't.
ReplyDeleteTonight I must do it.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I had only sent to two person.
ReplyDeleteone in Philippines and one in usa.
ReplyDeletesurprisingly..cannot register a postcard.
ReplyDeleteso when I send tomorrow, you will only receive it in a few days time.
ReplyDeleteI sent by registered post last time and they took a week to reach.
ReplyDeletethe best is courier which takes only a day.
ReplyDeletebut it's more expensive.
ReplyDeleterm6 for just a letter.
ReplyDeleteThis post is about letters.... and I received a love letter from the author here, saying I must be considerate and not spam blindly...
ReplyDeleteAnd because he also sent the letters to all the other fans, everyone started to drop by his latest post and spammed endlessly. Pecah record, by 2pm, the comments has reached 200.
I can't spam there anymore, thus I come here to spam.
SK leng chai, I think your "words of encouragement" in the love letter this morning has great impact on your fan club. Everyone is in high spirit and full force to spam religiously....
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you need to upgrade your program to count the comments. Or inject more AI into your calculation program.
There's no more room left for me to comment/reply to some fellow bloggers, I would suggest you to remove your own comment in order to have some empty slot, muahahahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteJust kidding. I'm desperate, ya know!
Nobody would notice me here..... leaving me peacefully with my comments. But it's kinda bored too, no interaction with others.
ReplyDeleteI really hope somebody or anybody realize I'm here and start the spamming chain XD
Wow, great! No one ever finds me here, hmpf!!
ReplyDeleteHelow, is anyone out there?
Hello Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteSK, I guess Yvonne is missing the activity here. Your blog is something like a morning market now with the limit-up feature. Why morning market? Once the market is closed, there is no more activity - just like your blog currently.
Some of us then go to the pasar malam for some action. haha...
And when more of us come to the night market, the ceiling will be met again. Or perhaps this is just a novelty and like all novelties (sann see hung), the momentum will ease off somewhat later on.
Are you enjoying the peace and quiet? Or are you missing the constant activity?
Pasar pagi not open this morning...
ReplyDeleteSK, why is your pasar pagi still closed??!!
mana today's post ah? 2 hrs yet to puclish...should add a subscribe your blog by email option so that we will know when your blog publish :P
ReplyDeleteya, it wouldn't be fun anymore if there's limit. Maybe SK should just let us be as long as we comment so that it won't be necessary for us to look back at other posts as there won't be interaction here.
ReplyDeletesorry, i have to comment here as I won't have the time to wait till late in the morning. I have to go to work. And when I finish work, the comments have already reached 200.
ReplyDeleteAnd frankly speaking, I wouldn't like the idea of the D score. Anyway, it's your wish. Happy blogging!
ReplyDelete以前啲所謂筆友家陣都冇曬聯絡囖。
ReplyDelete講開有講都好耐冇寫信咗
DeleteTalking about letters, always make me think the dating time between me and my husband, we started by writing letters.
ReplyDeleteI really went and dug out those letters a few days ago, but I do not have the courage to read them. I scare I cannot stand those lovey dovey statements again.
Delete
