09.05.2012 | 認字識字

[Volume 7 Issue 5, #1409]
我部手機嘅中文輸入係選擇用手寫而並非用拼音.. 因為我覺得用拼音你只係由幾個同音字中「認字」, 而用手寫先能夠代表你真正「識字」, 見唔見兩者分別?? 而且用拼音, 我隻肥手指每次㩒錯隔離隻字母, 非常唔方便.. 但係手寫哩, 就連畫公仔都可以估到你要寫咩字, 哈哈!! 圖中嘅烏龜同小鳥, 有趣呀哩?? :p
i chose to have handwriting recognition rather than pinyin for chinese input on my phone.. this is because i think by using pinyin you only "remember" the word from the list of options, but with handwriting that honestly means you really "know" the word well enough, see the difference?? furthermore if using pinyin, my fat finger always pressed the neighbouring keys and that is really inconvenient.. as for handwriting recognition, the phone is intelligent enough to guess the word even with drawings, haha!! see the words "tortoise" and "bird" above, interesting right?? :p

    5. eih, i use my fat fingers to "write" that, so cannot expect nice ones ok?? and for you all who don't know chinese, chinese words are actually symbolic, each word resembles the shape and slowly evolve to become the modern words.. that's why if you draw something, it's very close to the word and the recognition program can detect that.. :)

      Delete
    6. Oh, oh, I know a little about the chinese character origin.

But that tortoise of yours..... way far from its chinese character la.

Btw, I didn't know that it's so hard to write the word tortoise - is it chinese traditional? No simplified version?

      Delete
    7. hahaha, maybe closer to the simplified chinese lah.. i like traditional chinese more because i think they look nicer.. :)

  6. You drew the bird.... that one also doesn't look like "bird" Chinese character, but your phone program still can recognize it.

    2. I learned Chinese (using pinyin) from Primary 3 to Primary 5, an extra class twice per week after school hours. Am able to recognize 1% of the chinese characters which are simple.

One thing bad about pinyin, I always refer to the pinyin and not be able to recognize the chinese characters.

      Delete
    3. yalor, that's exactly what i meant with this post.. we just refer to the list of options and choose but don't really know how to write the word itself..
