噚日寫咗長短問題, 有讀者建議我寫大小問題, 就寫大小問題啦今日!! 其實我要講嘅係上載圖片嘅大小.. 雖然我啲貼通常都係得一張圖, 不過我一定會先處理過, 將相片整細(至100KB左右).. 如果將啲相原原本本貼上去(通常有2MB咁大), 一定要用更多時間load, 更何況如果貼上多張相, loading時間就相對增加.. 我諗大家都唔希望你嘅讀者要等成分鐘先成功load完你個blog㗎?? 我就係用呢個免費軟件嚟處理我啲相㗎喇, 有好多功能, 非常之好用~~ :)
wrote about length yesterday and someone suggested me to write about size, so why not "goreng" size today then?? i actually want to talk about the size of photos posted on blogs.. though my posts usually have only one photo, i always do some editing beforehand to reduce the size (to around 100KB).. if i were to upload the raw photo (normally as big as 2MB), it will definitely take longer time to load, what's more with multiple photos in a post?? i believe we do not want readers to wait for minutes to get our blog successfully loaded right?? i use this freeware to edit my photos, lots of features and i find it rather useful~~ :)

      You can download the recommended freeware by SK. Very good, much better than Picasa which I was using previously.

      just click on the hyperlink "freeware" in the post and download this photoscape, it's a freeware for PC..

    I got many pictures and does it take long time to open my blog?
    Coz i online in my house and my office and the speed is fast .. and I dont have any problems to open it ..

      Wei, you have to consider other ppl leh. You got high speed connection, but not everyone has.

      I also try to reduce the size for everyone's ease :)

      so far i don't have problem with Simple Person's blog.. but then actually besides many photos, i think the major factor that affects the page loading is actually those widgets.. oh, really can't stand those..

    i do that too, set it around 13okb more or less. However, my page still loads slow even though i have minimized all the gadgets and stuff..sigh.

      The only thing I did to my photos is usually to resize them.

      Never cared to edit or as SK mentioned up there, decorate them.

      I face no internet speed in my office, but back home (stealing others' broadband) I need to wait like 1-2 minutes for a page to load. If I'm lucky, 30 seconds :D but that rarely happens.

    Too many 'repeated' photos can kill the mood, seriously.

    Example like, taking different angles of a burger can be quite a turn off. Unless if there's something that required this multiple angles to be posted.

    Yup...I hate blogs with too many photos and they take ages and ages to load...especially with poor connections like what we have here.

    Sometimes, I just gave up. No need to see, no need to read - not going to waste my time waiting.

    Same things with blogs with a whole lot of clutter - and some will activate a malware warning even!!!! I really wonder what goes on in those people's heads....

      hmmm, i understand your concern.. loads of photos still not a big problem.. but those with loads of widgets and pop-ups, really irritates me - those i will not waste time!! for lots of photos, perhaps just leave them aside for 10 minutes, do something else, and then come back and i'm sure they're done with the loading..

      hahaha!! Simple Person so concern about his blog's loading performance~~

    如果一直都是很难loading的话
    blogger就会自动把你的blog设定成只能看到第一篇
    我之前有遇过，现在都尽量把照片放小。
    但是太小又对看的人不方便。

    SK, I'm on Africa time again, always late with my comments. Thanks for telling us about PhotoScape! I usually edit my photos in Picasa, but I downloaded PhotoScape, played around a bit and ... I'm a fan! THANKS!

    PS: I actually have PhotoShop. (No, I didn't buy it. Don't ask any further questions. Grin.) However, it's a very complex program to use for a technically challenged person like myself. PhotoScape is much easier and quicker! ^^
