i think everyone takes lift almost everyday.. i can actually consider myself an impatient person, especially with the following people who (be them accidentally or intentionally) slows down the lift..
  • when the lift is almost full with people but still taking their own sweet time to walk in..
  • get into the lift, busy searching for the floor button, yet never bother to press the close button to close the door after that..
  • those who go up or down for only one or two floors, can you please take the stairs?? i believe it's way faster than taking lift..

  4. I so agree with you.

They take their own sweet time getting into the lift, but never bother to think about other's time.

One more - those who were busy looking at the phone's screen and made us inside lift wait patiently for them to enter or exit.

    1. yes yes yes!! besides the lift, i also hate those people who are so busy looking at their phone till they are blocking the way everywhere.. you know lah, i always walk very fast, and those looking at their phone are so slow.. hate that hate that!!

  5. Recently I took elevators often when I took my mum to the medical centre in Subang Jaya. Goodness, they have 2 blocks of building connected by a bridge, so we had to go back and forth.

    2. My old lady had to be pushed on wheelchair otherwise she would faint.

      Delete
    3. i think SJMC should consider building escalator or conveyor belt around the hospital so that people do not have to walk so much especially for the elderly and the patients.. but then with such facilities, they will charge Anay even more!!

  6. I also got annoyed in such sweet-time lifts with slow moving users. Humans being humans, the worst are those still talking inside with their mobile phones. I was surprised some lifts had reception inside.

    1. Not only talking on phone, but they continue to sms/play games on their phone, ignorant to surrounding.

As if their eyes are glued to the screen and they don't bother to move aside when others have reach the floor and squeeze out.

      Delete
    2. yalor, as if they cannot move their sight away from their phone!! haiz, really so inconsiderate!! if walking still can overtake them, but waiting inside the lift really challenge me to yell at them!!

  7. When I lived in a condo for many years, I hated waiting and using the lifts as I lived on the high floors and had to stop on so many levels. I used to walk down as a form of exercise.

    1. I prefer using the stairs too.

But somehow noawadays, management doesn't allow people to use stairs going up & entering each floor from outside. Can only go out, from inside and walk down.

Security reasons. Approved by Bomba some more. So troublesome when there is one lift that cannot work. I stay at 1st floor, but had to wait so long for the lift to come. :(

      Delete
    2. yeah, i was working in KLCC last time and we are not allowed to use the staircase.. if you get into the stairwell you will not be able to get out, until you walk straight down to the ground floor, knock the door and a security guard will come and interrogate you.. that one no choice lah.. but then other places where stairs are open, the don't take the lift if you are going up/down for just 1 or 2 floors!!

  8. The worst nightmares were the lifts broke down and I got trapped alone inside for half hour feeling suffocated and worried.

    1. Luckily I never got trapped in a lift when I lived in a condo. Don't like and never like condo because of the lift inconvenience.

My SIS was trapped 40 minutes in a lift, along with her 2year old daughter. Scary! @.@

You got traumatised or not after that? xD

    3. wah!! vocabulary of the day!! CLAUSTROPHOBIA, thank you Teacher Queen Yvonne..

that's why Anay now doesn't stay in condo anymore but bought a huge bungalow so that he doesn't have to take lift anymore, so don't have to worry about being trapped inside..

      Delete
    4. He didn't install a lift in his huge bungalow ah? xD

      Delete
    5. because of that phobia, he installed escalators all around his house instead of elevator!!

I like majority of your post....short, direct to the point and the best part, duo version for banana's like me.

Same here, using the lift more than taking my meals a day and what most annoyed me would be the #1 & #3.

Why can't they just wait for the next trip. some even worst still, take their time to squeeze in and go only that ONE floor up. (sigh)

  18. I add one more point:

When the lift is almost full, some people still rush in and squeeze themselves among others.

They don't seem to give up unless the "overweight" light comes up. Yeah, right, fully utilize the capacity.

Please la, can't they wait for another one?

    ReplyDelete

    1. hahahaha, very true!! but cannot blame them lah, sometimes they might be in a rush, and you know lah, most probably they are the one waiting first but due to the fact that people don't queue up for lifts here, those who waited first could be the last to enter.. hahahaha!! but for me, even if the lift is more than half full, i'd rather wait, cos i'm scared of being the one who sound the alarm!! :D

  26. I hate it when people press both buttons. Going up, the lift will stop at their floor...and they would not get in as they actually want to go down. Blardy waste of people's time. Quite brainless, those people...don't even know which way they're going!

And I hate people holding the door...to wait for their friends who are "on the way" but taking their sweet time. So inconsiderate of others!@#$%^&*!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They push both because they reasoned the lifts will move faster.

If only push one button, lift don't move one! LOL

And when lift arrives, ask the people inside whether it is going up or down. Never take notice which light is shown outside. Can see mah!

      Delete
    2. i think they press both buttons to see which direction comes first, they will just get in to guarantee a space in case too many people on the same floor wants to get it..

oh, those who hold on the door and waiting for their "sweet-time taking" friends, they are just challenging my patience threshold only..

  28. Hey, chill! I am one of those people who flatly refuse to press the Close button. Why bother when it can do the work by itself. The next person can do it if he's in such a hurry. As if it would hasten the ride a lot faster! hahh!

    1. I would push the close button if I am standing right in front of it instead of letting it close.

Some lifts do take a bit of time to close.

1 second also precious time! ;p

      Delete
    2. well, psychologically it makes a difference, and one second counts too.. some lift closes rather slowly.. and that's why they have the CLOSE button there!! if everyone waits for the door to close automatically, then there's just no need to have that button right??

      Delete
    3. So very the right! ;p

      Delete
    4. Wah! So garang! I better not share same lift with first lady! i might get jammed between closing doors! Muahahahahaha!

  29. Another peeve - some people will just go into any lift that opens its door. DOn't care to check whether go up or down.

Then once inside (after stalling and delaying in front of the door) - go ask around. Eh? This lift not going up ah? *slap head*
