04.03.2012 | 坐好啲嚟

[Volume 7 Issue 3, #1343]
when i commute in trains, one of those people i hate most are those who sit like no backbone and crossing their "trotter" as shown in the photo.. first it look so unclassy (but then that's their personal traits i cannot control), it actually causes inconvenience to other standing passengers.. look at the whole bottom half of the body taking up a standing space, when others wanted to stand, they just have to wind or leap over those legs to get some space to stand.. come on, just be considerate and sit upright and both feet down won't you??

  2. That's only a situational sitting posture because you can only do that when there is ample space. I'm sure he will sit in when it's crowded. You think not?

    1. I've seen plenty who doesn't care to adjust their sitting despite a crowded train. And their tapak kasut seems to be more important than the person standing. :(

  3. Agree with HappySurfer 'see dishes eat rice' when crowded he would risk his feet being crushed. Yeah sitting this way is causing 'badbone'.

  11. Hallo! I saw your funny comments on Lina's blog and came for a visit.

You guys are giving me a headache. I'm trying to master Japanese, but on your blogs it's English and Malay and Chinese and ...It's strange to see kanji, recognize them, but KNOW it's probably not what you think it is.

Anyway. Commuters don't really sit like that on Tokyo's trains, but they have plenty of other irritating habits. >:( Ask Lina! ;)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I guess we will always smell sweat that in Malaysia and other tropical countries. The commuters in cold countries smell so nice in packed trains during winter as their body's moisturizers are lovely! Ha ha ha ha!

  41. Oh wait, not all Malaysian are inconsiderate. When I was heavily preggie, a nice young guy offered me his seat in LRT :D

    1. When I heavily pregnant, got one time a nice guy gave up his seat for me, only to have a middle-age, dressed like a mak datin woman sit in that seat and even had the cheek to thank the guy. Both of us were speechless!

    ReplyDelete
  44. U know, I didnt really saw those inconsiderate people who take LRT or KTM lo, maybe KTM case is too crowded and cannot see leg, and LRT is too less people and PJ people got STANDARD :X

    ReplyDelete
  45. Why I didnt really see this kind of problem because I sit from LRT Taman Bahagia (which is near [One of the last station]Kelana Jaya) always and I get the seat always.

If stand also I see many people and kids just sit down and keep quiet, didn't really chat at all LOL

    ReplyDelete
  46. Dun Mad Boss! You shall be chill! Because there is 100 or 1000 of people facing this kind of problem and there is 0.1 percent of people stand up and correct them. Hopeless is it? :P

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes agree! The world has more inconsiderate commuters than kind & selfless ones. You see them on the trains!

    ReplyDelete
  56. 遇到咁嘅情形,如果逼住要企嗰个位,我都会成尊石膏人像企喺佢面前畀压力过佢,睇佢识唔识do!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I noticed that the people in Hong Kong and Bangkok love to stand instead of sit when there were empty seats!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Either they were kind to keep the seats empty to make way for needy folks or they just wanna look good standing in their designer clothings or carry their Prada bags!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Over here when our LRT is almost crowded with small space in between, I still avoid sitting in between. I feel uneasy to rub my body and get sandwiched by 2 strangers.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Soon our LRT tracks will reach Sunway and USJ with more commuters plying daily. You will have more funny sights to observe. Thambee, you should bring me along okay!

    ReplyDelete
  61. After LRT they have another new track plying the TTDI and Mutiara Damansara route. Which train will that be? Let's check it out then!

    ReplyDelete
  62. You should list out the train etiquette for commuters to follow and send this proposal to our govt. I am sure you will be hired to be their PR Manager!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Now I recall that the trains in different countries have different seat layouts hence it will evade inconsiderate passengers! I think the ones in San Francisco is unique and nice. Our govt should hire you to try out all the trains worldwide and submit a report to them for better seats!
