| 睇咗呢位朋友嘅一篇貼之後, 我有感而發.. 係喇, 閣下嘅blog係唔係有呢個word verification㗎?? 我知你嘅用意, 不過其實對於你親愛嘅讀者嚟講, 呢個項目一啲都唔型, 要留言係一種不便囉.. 而且blogger仲改用captcha, 依家要打兩個字, 更加係雪上加霜啦.. 查實blogger內設spam detection功能, 我覺得work喎, 所以我一路以嚟都唔用word verification而且仲相安無事.. 如果唔係邊得嚟咁多讀者可以開開心心喺我地盤灌水呢?? 呵呵~~ :p |
| after reading a post from this friend, i have something to say.. so did you turn on work verification in your blog?? i know your intention but think about it, it's actually not cool at all but so inconvenient for your fellow readers who want to comment.. furthermore blogger has changed to captcha which is now making things worse.. do you know blogger has built in its spam detection feature?? i turned that on and get away with word verification and it works well for me, no garbage spams at all!! else where do you think i can have my readers happily spamming *meaningful* comments here in my blog?? hehehe~~ :p |

ReplyDeleteI prefer not to moderate my comments but I've got a lot of spamming from dunno-who promoting their sites and products hence I turned on moderating function.
ReplyDeleteWhich I know it's quite inconvenience for my readers, especially for absent-minded person (like me), this usually comes up, "Eh, I comment already or no?" after clicking Post and the comment goes into waiting list :p
ReplyDeletebut then everytime you need to approve those comments, very troublesome also woh.. go and turn on the automatic spam detection and you have your peace of mind leh~~

ya lah, many times those words scrambled together and really have no idea what they are, furthermore those are not meaningful words which makes them more difficult to guess..

ReplyDeleteI know one - you go through word verification and click...and then you have to sign into google.com...and then you will go back to the comment box and go through word verification again and then it tells you that you must wait for approval!!!

ReplyDeleteYou don't get spam? Lucky you! How do you do it? I get a lot but with wordpress, Akismet will catch them and I will delete them eventually - hundreds a day.
i got spams before, but i always report those comments as spam to blogger.. guess after collecting all the patterns and samples, blogger can auto detect those and filter for me..

ReplyDeleteHowever, I've found a way around the stress. If you look closer, there is an icon (a broken circle like icon) just below the two-word code which you can click on to change the code to one that is easier to read. Try it, no one has to lose hair or lose one's cool anymore. :D
it's under Settings -> Comments -> Show word verification for comments?
Deletehmmm, i noticed that little refresh button but still sometimes it all has to base on guesses because all the letters are jumbled up and those are not proper english words which make guessing more difficult.. hahaha!!

DeleteSK, have looked thru there countless times when the double-word captcha came on board but did not see it anymore. I'm using the new dashboard interface (system forced) and looks like the WV turnoff feature has been turned off the Settings/Comments unless it has been moved which I have yet to find after checking everywhere possible on the dashboard.
DeleteLet me know if and when you do find it. Maybe, make it a post for anyone who needs it. Same applies to everyone else. Drop me a comment.
yes they are annoying, but sometimes we still need to prevent those viagra and other merchandise-promoting spammers from flooding our comments wall rite? it's a dilemma for many blogspot users, and thankfully i have switched to wordpress so there's this spambin to help me take care of the job. ;)
