This is the right fundamental attitude. Happy Lunar New Year to you and family.
ReplyDeleteI complain to the manager only most of the time, but politely though. Just express my displeasure. lol.. you're right, we never know what they will do to our food :P
ReplyDeleteI do complain if it's needed..otherwise I just forget about it..
ReplyDeletei never dare to complaint. I scare the manager will be a hard one to deal with and will left me embarrassed. All I will do is never dine in that restaurant ever again.
ReplyDeleteThis year is my 1st time complaining to a manager of a diner. It is a franchise diner, complaining that the spaghetti is different and tasteless. In the beginning the manager said she can't do anything with it. after I said I will blacklisted the diner, she called her boss and gave us complimentary meal. I only paid for our drinks and side order. Not going back for 'extra' in my food. heheheh
ReplyDeleteyeah lor. U kenot see saliva/spit in ur food right? so wanna complain oso scared. but dun complain have to swallow terrible food.. how?
ReplyDeleteVery rare for Bananaz to complain but to resolve matter to get it right. Love to compliment the chef or services if they are great.
ReplyDeletemuhahaha....must be a very nice book. I have read Ramsey's Playing with fire.
ReplyDeleteI am smarter! I complain after I have eaten and when paying bills!
ReplyDeleteMy friends who worked at a 5 Star Hotel told me that the kitchen staff once threw a raw steak and spat on it before re-grill the dish for a very difficult and abusive diner! I was speechless!
ReplyDeleteThese days the services of the waitress and waiters in many restaurants are quite bad. The younger part timers are the worst lots as they tend to be playful amongst themselves or browse FB on their phones!
ReplyDeleteWhen the service is bad, i would tell the cashier or manager BUT when the service was horrendous, I would email to them. I have emailed only once so far.
ReplyDeleteWhen the service was very good I would tip them RM5-10 easily. That makes my heart happy to show appreciation.
ReplyDeleteSadly, the most annoying waiters were normally Bangla or Chennai guys! They are really not suitable to do the job.
ReplyDeleteOh! I so agree with you!
DeleteHi Lina... even PM gave warnings to remove all these foreign workers from working at customer services in KLIA!!! That was after foreign tourists complained. Damage done!
DeleteThese guys often have very hairy hands and you would be lucky to find occasional 'Fatt Choy' hair on your plate!! Eeeek! A 5 Star F&B would be particular on the hair of their head and hands! There is a price to pay.
ReplyDeleteI think sometimes, complaining to the staff is a futile attempt. If they can say sorry, that's like so good already.
ReplyDeleteI seldom hear wait staff apologising for handing out wrong order, slow delivery of food, that kind of thing. Once, a friend got splashed with a drink and the staff when "scolded" by his manager just muttered - "oh, she stood up suddenly. It's not my fault". Can, ah?
And I always prefer complaining to manager or if it's a chain - to the HQ people.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, complaining about those sometimes "moronic" staff at McD will get me nowhere.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that there are so many people at McD counter - 1 to take order, 1 to put burgers, 1 to do drinks, 1 for standing around in a blur and yet, service can be sooooo slow?
Talking about McD counters, I have avoided the ones that have too many African students! Goodness, they could turn the place upside down. In case you wanna experience - Taman Connaught's.
DeleteMy hubby, if he received a bad service - will just call the manager and said that he refused to pay. Sometimes for the whole meal and sometimes he asked the manager to take out the 10% service charge because we aren't gonna pay for bad service. So far, it got the managament's attention. Yes, we got both too.
ReplyDeleteI seldom complain.... and if I do, I would normally complain on the service and leave afterward.
ReplyDeleteSo, no need to scare they "poison" my food, right?
ReplyDeleteI prefer to complain via the feedback form... The form will go back to the management, am I right? No??
ReplyDeleteI won't call it complaint la, just feedback on the food and service, kekeke~
ReplyDelete網上投訴會晤會比直接投訴好啲呢?
ReplyDeleteI was appalled watching on tv the things they do to the food in the kitchen for difficult customers. Jeez! No matter how difficult a customer is, there is no justice for that kind of treatment!
ReplyDeleteI followed the Waiter Rant blog when it first started. It was very good reading material but later on, he wasn't so nice anymore. I stopped reading it.
Having worked in a restaurant kitchen before, I can say that your concerns are valid. Often especially when the kitchen is busy, tempers easily flare up ( i worked for a highly temperamental chef), so they could easily mess up your dish with "additional" ingredients. I also try not to be the last diner before the restaurant closes for the afternoon or night since the kitchen staff may get irritated since they can't leave on time since they need to serve you.
ReplyDelete+Ant+
ha ha, complain must be reasonable.....or else the chef put something else in the food, habis lah...ha ha ha!
ReplyDeleteHappy Chinese New Year! :)
ReplyDeleteMy friend used to work as a waitress in US.. and she told me that if customers were fussy, the cooks in the kitchen "revenged" by spitting into the dish and heating them up or put in some ash from their cigarettes.. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL...faints!
DeletetQ for your gift for the Bloggers Award M MXI, arrived this afternoon. Cool and very original man. Lupp it very much. Xie Xie.
ReplyDeleteThat day I just heard someone complained in twitter that his coffee bean coffee got fly and he complain to the manager but he didn't really care. Pity the consumers.
ReplyDeleteI guess everyone has experienced some sort of issues with restaurants/waiters/waitresses. Most of us would be worry what'd happen 'behind the scene' ;)
ReplyDeleteWishing you an earlier Happy CNY 祝你新年平安快乐!
I have never been an irate customer because i am working in a customer service field so i know it feels when someone shouts @ you and someone gets too irate in a way that she's bad mouthing you already hahaaha
ReplyDeleteoh that is so true... you may not know what things they can do to pay back hahaha... so scary right? and before you knew it, you will not realize that those bubbles thingy you have in your copy are their saliva eeeeeeww
ReplyDeletei think if you see something wrong ... then try to approach them the diplomatic way.... give them some respect and they will surely bring the courtesy back
ReplyDeleteVery seldom I make complain to waiters or waitress. I will only email or go through the proper channel to do the complaint
