[Volume 8 Issue 7, #1759] |
saw a very fashionable lady yesterday and while admiring her fashionista way of dressing up, i suddenly realized on her very classy feel t-shirt it was printed with these two words: FORTURN COOKIES.. oh that was just so potong stim, very obvious that was a misspelt FORTUNE COOKIES right?? hence it inspired me to strongly advise everyone to be ultra careful with what was printed on your clothes.. it could be a very nice one attracting lots of attention, but once there is a misspelt word on it, your entire image will become utterly cheap, and i guess that's even more attention seeking!! and what's with the tattoo pictures above?? i was actually googling for some real examples of tees with misspelt words but the search result returned me more pictures of that in tattoos.. i thought to myself, the case of clothes may not be the worst, but in the case of tattoos, the one who got it thought it must be something so cool until in the end found out there is such an "interesting" spelling mistake!! OMG, and it's gonna stay on their skins for the entire life, laughed at by many and surely from a mighty tiger turn into a timid little mice?? [lesson learnt] get it right or leave it!! always lookup your dictionary if you are unsure about the spelling~~ :p |

Good morning SK...
ReplyDeleteIf there's words in the t-shirt, i will read the words, see if i'm comfortable with the words, before deciding whether to buy...
DeleteGood morning everyone...
ReplyDeleteMorning Sharon!
DeleteMorning Angeline...
DeleteOh? But FCUK is selling very well. :O
ReplyDeleteA former colleague was proudly walking around with her new t-shirt sporting "I Am A Tramp" until someone told her the connotation. She never wore it again.
Getting a misspelling on a tattoo is a different story altogether, isn't it? I've read of mat salleh actors getting Chinese character tattoos which didn't quite turn out what it's supposed to be. Gosh!
DeleteI've always wondered how Johnny Depp got rid of his tattoo for Wynona Ryder. I haven't got around to googling it.
Good morning! Now that's a good tattoo to see every morning. Have a nice day.
DeleteThink she look Donald got up and wanted to associate with Trump so much to be his apprentice until she got 'fired'
DeleteThe name FCUK kinda an attention grabber although what it means is so boring actually! Hahaa
DeleteLOL... Sk, maybe some like to wear mispelt words so that others like you will spend a second longer on them! hahahaa....
ReplyDeleteGood morning everyone and SK!
ReplyDeleteThis post reminds me of STP's FB photo ler -"Pondan Flavours" instead of "Pondan Flavours"! Really amusing.
DeleteSee...that is another problem, mind think is Pandan but the hand write "Pondan". Tsk Tsk Tsk!
DeleteI'm totally a blurry sotong this morning.
DeleteGood morning Ah Boy and everyone.
ReplyDeleteFinally feeling a bit better today...can spam. Last week was bad...one after another falling sick.
Mispelled words...sound like talking about me ni...perli me ke? Termakan cili lah :p
Nah...dont take to heart/ Just joking la
Hi Meow, me also often mar. It always happen when I tend to write or type fast...habis lar..tu!
Deleteme type fast type slow also will happen...fat fingers.
Deletemy fingers also chubby one. Hubby also complained - "wei, you never check before you send sms ka?"...
DeleteGood morning Bloggers! This meow really should never open a tattoo shop! Every sentence she types on watsap, you will see spelling errors so frequently when others don't have this problem with their phones. I suspect this Meow purposely typed wrong to humble her well read English. Muahahahaa
DeleteLOL
DeleteAnay, i so agree eith you.
Meow definitely cannot go.
Habis tattoo all spelled wrongly. HAHAHA
She wants to test you TM...
DeleteMuhahahaha.....ajaran sesat mah...cannot open tattoo shop and kindergarten else all kids spell wrongly :p Habis......
DeleteYalor its high time SmallKucing should get the claws trimmed, too messy with long claws clicking at the keyboard kakaka
DeleteMispelled word are very common already nowadays.
ReplyDeleteYou have got friends who had gotten married right? Did they show you their wedding albums? Those Bridal photos ones?
I saw some and was frankly horrified by it. You know some album where they put several photos in a page and then got some wordings? I frequently saw misspelled words in them. And what is more horrifying is some no brain bridal company put songs wording in the album....can you guess what sort of song? You can right????so tasteless...come on lah...people getting married and then they putting song lyrics in the ablum...songs about :Fun sau"(separating) ...
I also get pissed off when during wedding dinner some people will go and karaoke those unauspicious song...what the heckkk...people getting marry here and there they singing Jacky cheung Fung sau jor yiu pin??? I know la...everyone suppose to be happy mah...but then must see occassion also ler
Well misspelt on a printed T-Shirt, we can just take it off or we just don't wear it. But Tattoo wor...how can it be right? Takkan they never confirm the word before tattoo-ing?
ReplyDeleteTattoo will remain on our skins for a lifetime. Unless you scrap it off - Eww...painful right?
DeleteThose cosmetic tatto on eyebrows and lips is normal. Me here very kiasi one... furthermore with Tattoo - I cabut lari cepat-cepat!
For those printed on T-Shirts - I guess some made it in purpose, I supposed.
DeleteI have one malay colleague. She is going to be 50ish la. Very innocent type.
ReplyDeleteOne saturday she wore a T-shirt to work. Saturday casual mah. Usually she would wear baju kurung punya.
Then one of my clerk say it and asked kak xxx...you know what Tshirt you wearing ah....She also lur sotong la...we all see lor....saw the wording FXXX U. wakakaka....poor Kak XXX... cepat cepat find a coat and wear over it. She didnt notice the wording coz it was creatively done. Thought just some simple wording la. Mana tau so offensive one.
ha...i always have mistake in my spelling. I'm too careless.
ReplyDeleteoh dear...those tattoos....if spelt wrongly, will be forever.
DeleteSome t-shirts purposely had their wording spelt wrongly. Coz they are imitations ?
Deletemeow,
DeleteThat kakak why so innocent one?
Buy tee where?
Lina,
DeleteThat Kak XXX memang very innocent one. Officer but always kena bully by her staffs. She very gentle la. I also duno where she bought the baju from.
I actually see spelling errors everywhere especially in China and Japan. They could even make big word blunders on billboards. I could not photograph them as I was either riding on the moving trains or taxi.
ReplyDeleteSo far I have not seen spelling errors on someone's body tattoo yet as I never paid attention to them. Usually the young people are popularly having motifs or fancy tribal patterns being tattooed all over their bodies instead. I can imagine the pain they had to endure. No thanks!
DeleteI do think that many muscular guys in the gym nowadays who sport their tribal pattern tattoos on their arms or neck look cool and macho. There is some aura of manliness in them. Then I saw some less common tattoos like one guy in the gym who had the whole DiZang Wang Bodhisattva being tattooed in his whole back body with mantras all over. I was shocked and speechless but I refrained from giving my opinion on his choice. I just felt it was a bit disrespectful to sleep on the bed every night with his back facing down.
DeleteHuh that's interesting an eye opener to see DiZangWang all over the body with mantras. Maybe should find out more from him WhyAskWhy coz he has his reason.
DeleteIf T shirt it is still ok. Perhaps it was intentional? :p
ReplyDeleteLikewise tattoo will need to be tattooed correctly with no spelling mistake. Like you said...it is permanent...
ReplyDeleteThere's this new show on Astro about those horrible wrongly etched & misspelt tattoos. Aiyoh, which channel is it?
ReplyDeleteone of the GMs here had a tattoo. Small one only lah. She had it removed by laser. So damn expensive and so darn painful too. O_O
ReplyDeleteSo, moral of the story...
Think before going ahead with a tattoo. ;-)
I can feel the pain now also.
Deletegood morning SK and all! I saw quite a lot of misspelt words on t-shirts and they kept me wondering. Were they on purpose or they spelt them wrongly. Anyway, it's their business but if that happened to someone I know, then I would tell the person.
ReplyDeletebut mind you, I dislike the auto correct in phone messaging. Words intended are sometimes spelt wrongly.
DeleteSame here wenn, I don't like auto corrections also, be it in phone or laptop... I prefer to type every single alphabets on my own, hehe.
DeleteVanakam! Good afternoon bloggers. Last Sunday saw a sign at a food stall selling "Hakkien Mee". Wonder its a fusion like the yin yong noodles between Hakka mee and Hokkien mee?
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon SK ah boy and everybody!
ReplyDeleteHaze is back is it???
FORTURN COOKIES, may be they purposely printed it like that leh? May be got special meaning that only certain group of people understands, haha xD
ReplyDeleteBut I agree with what you said, always seek for the correct spelling before printed them on shirts or skin, if not......... Disaster!!
DeleteSpeaking of tattoos, you know one of my 'things to do' before I die is to get myself a tatoo leh!! But too bad this wish will not be materialized at all cause my hubby won't allow me to do it :(
DeleteAnyway, I love printed wordings shirts, I actually find some very funny and special. I know Hatyai sells a lot of similar clothes, some with pictures some more =)
DeleteMugs, cards...all those things in the gift shops...so many with the spelling wrong. Sometimes I would see something so nice and would want to buy - once I see the error, I would change my mind right away.
ReplyDeleteTom Cruise had Nicole Kidman's name tattooed onto his backside - I wonder if he got it removed after they got divorced.
DeleteJohnny Depp had Wynona forever changed to Wyno forever or something right? LOL
DeleteAiyo!! All tattoos above have wrong spellings!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not cool lah but I bet they think it's cool until someone tell them them about the wrong spelling haha!
ReplyDeleteI also own a mis-spelt T shirt. A missing alphabet actually but it's hard to notice unless you read it slowly. I only noticed it after wearing the T shirt for the 3rd time! Hahaha!!
ReplyDelete紋錯咗喺身上面,真喺喊都冇眼淚!
ReplyDelete一係唔做, 要做就要做到最好!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat I can say is, it's kind of embarrassing lo!!! But normally I won't really read what's printed on t-shirt!!!
ReplyDeleteLuckily is on t-shirt, if it's tattoo....the person need to suffer extra pain to erase the words.....hahaha!!! =]
ReplyDeleteIf a person is wearing the T-shirt with the word "FUCK", do you think he/she miss spelled the word? ;-)
ReplyDeletein UK, i saw many people having tattoo~
ReplyDelete这到底是纹身师傅的错还是本人自己的错呢? >.<
ReplyDeletewell i rarely see some mispelling on
ReplyDeleteshirts but what is common here was some statement
shirts with double meaning,
i actually saw a shirt with condom on it,
Deletethe design was like a fire extinguisher box
which indicates break the glass in case of emergency
as for the tattoos if i were the one had that, iwas
ReplyDeleteprobably in jail now, coz there's a huge
possibility that i'll be hulk like if ever that happens
this reminds me of an commercial here
ReplyDeleteon which a tattoo artist, due to his eye deficiency
he accidentally spell ruby to rudy
which was a girl's name to guy's
and the thing is the guy, his customer was buff and masculine
I was dreaming of having a tattoo in the future
ReplyDeletegood thing the design i had in mind wasn't
a word but a bar code haha but then we can never be sure
by the way and erased tattoo looks awful,
ReplyDeleteit looks like a scar, it seems like you just remove the
ink but the design was still there however it was now formed
by that scar
have a great day and happy blogging sk
ReplyDeletetake the best of care and god bless you
Aiyoyo, wrong spelling on T-Shirt, mean this T-Shirt is cheapo and may be pasar malam products la!
ReplyDeleteWrong spelling on body tattoo, this is not funny and too bad la!
Next time if I go for body tattoo, I will ask for drawing and no word writing. Thank for this reminder, SK.
