25.04.2013 | 師奶心態

[Volume 8 Issue 4, #1711]
if you tell me a bun is selling at RM1, i may not be interested to buy.. but if you tell me a bun was selling at RM2 but now half-priced at RM1, there is a big possibility that i will buy it!! is it because of my "auntie attitude", or most of the people out there are having the similar thinking?? just like i would buy something because of the freebies, hahaha!! so that's when i saw these cupbread couple of days ago, new items at 50% off promotion but that's not the end of the story, if you go to their facebook and grab another discount code, you are entitled for an additional 20% off!! now tell me, how can that not be attractive?? i picked one for each flavor and the total after discounts was only RM2.70 (about US$0.89), not even RM0.70 each in average!! the tastes were already not bad, but with such a steal, i think it's not wrong to even "upgrade" them to delicious, agree?? haha~~ :D

Frankly, I'm not very health-freak and always know that healthy food isn't that 'tasty'. Most probably I'll leave the wheat bun till last, or give it to Yannie :p

    1. Being in advertising industry for so long, I am always suspicious over Discounted Prices and all those advertised in Groupons daily. We need to check it out thoroughly.

When a business is slagging they will call up advertising agencies for SOS!

    2. Annay, Ah Hua will falls for such traps, too. There are many Silly Aunties out there and that's why this kind of advertisement is used repeatedly.

    1. I will go to Tesco or Giant reduce to sell corner too. I don't mind having those bread or pastry as long as it is still within the expiry date.

    2. Wakakaka, annay is also one of the Silly Aunties here :p

I'll love the 'BUY 2 FREE 1' promotion but only carefully select the smaller buns because if I can't finish them within the expiry date, then it will be wasted~ For non-edible items, I'll sapu as much as possible, kakaka!

  26. Actually RM1 for a bun is considered reasonable, depends of what type of bun. If it's just plain bun, of course, it's a bit pricey.

I remember bringing jam-spread bread to school everyday. I didn't have much choice back then as my mom would buy a loaf of bread everyday and we will need to finish them in 24 hours. And yet I didn't complain of it. Unlike my daughter nowadays she doesn't like bread or bun, she prefers to follow what her friends have - rice bento or buy from canteen, duh!

  27. Aunty mode ! hahahah.....my mum will do that just like you! But I won't. Coz I will see if it is my fav or not. If cheap, but i dun like, wasted also le.....
