30.01.2013 | 懷舊佈置

[Volume 8 Issue 1, #1661]
i seldom pay attention to CNY decorations in shopping malls, but this old town theme is rather special to me, so different from most malls out there that perpetually go with the "red blossom" theme.. see those little stalls?? they are real stalls with people selling CNY stuffs in there.. together with roads and traffic lights, as well as those messy signboards, i felt a little like being back to little towns in the good old days.. when it comes to these retro things, i actually am fond of them, i don't know how to describe but they just seem to have very attractive fascination to me (of course not elderly people lah, haha!!).. i think it's a trend huh?? noticed many bloggers are showing off their old photos and memories too?? or perhaps is it true that as we grow older, we tend to like to reminisce?? hehe~~ :p

    1. Good morning, meow and SK!!

      Good morning, world~

I saw that CNY deco in 1U during my recent trip to KL, but how come I didn't feel the same? Maybe I was too busy chasing my son across the "fake road" and missed out the fun?

    2. Good morning bloggers. CNY is so close now. Aiyo! This Thambee and Ah Hua went to 1-U and didn't invite me. So near yet so far.

    4. Though I didn't go there myself, I can see here in SK's picture. The decor is indeed very unique and very Chinese New Year atmosphere.

Too bad, I won't be travelling anywhere during Chinese New Year. My husband has plenty of friends and relatives to entertain in Chinese New Year.

    5. Annay, I went to KL on your birthday week. You were so busy and fully booked by family, friends, boys and girls. I didn't make any early-bird reservation, how to meet up in 1U?

Moreover, you just dropped by to the hotel, ala touch n go style. Again, I didn't get to meet the legendary Letchumi.

    6. Letchumi said very sorry she didn't come down from the car as Anay kurung her inside the car. The guards at entrance shooed her away. I thought we all could meet and chit chat beside the car. Next time come for 1 week and SP will organize poolside party from 5pm to 5am. My old condo's pool still can do Hawaiian party.

  3. Saw this in somebody's blog - very nice. Nicer than Tokyo Street, I would say.

    1. Of course this is nicer than Tokyo Streets! The CNY stuffs and desserts sold there gives us a very old HKG streets theme.

      Delete
    2. Tokyo Street is permanent. And nothing really special about it lah...

THis one feels more special as it is for a short time only and for a festive season. :)

    1. Bananaz, you should go there with Mango one of these days before CNY. It is different to experience the atmosphere there yourself.

      Delete
  12. Yan, oh really! Bananaz is on the high visual & auditory person according to NLP but sweetie Mango is more kinaesthetic she may wanna go and touch and feel the place hahaha. Shall make time but Bananaz is scared of crowd especially now shoppers are busy-ing with CNY stuff & parking woes etc. May resists going unless she read this blog and points a shotgun at my temple haha.
