18.01.2013 | 制水日子

[Volume 8 Issue 1, #1655]
lately quite a number of residential areas are experiencing interrupted water supply, within a week i experienced two days without water supply in my area, how thoughtful!! anyway i've experienced something even worse, i remember once in 1998 there was no water supply for one whole week, everyday we had to wait for the authority to send us water, and when we saw the water truck coming, everyone from every family would bring big pails to queue up for water!! to save water, we even tried our best to "do business" at the nearby mall, haha~~ thinking back how awkward i was back then, it is just a laugh now.. however compared to a friend of mine, i'm considered lucky.. his area has been notified to have no water supply since two weeks ago, till chinese new year!! it's more than a month, how to survive??!! @_@"

    12. There was one year when the electricity got disruption on CNY eve. Many angry locals went to the TNB main office and they almost start a fight with 3 poor TNB maintenance guys.

You know how important the lights must be switched on during CNY... it's a good fengshui to attract more $$$

Dark, dark, God of Fortune also won't make a stop. LOL~

    13. LOL... Ah Hua it is true la... You better buy more candles before CNY. I will do the same too!

      Delete
    14. Ah Hua will buy more red candles, as precaution for CNY electric interruption. If no use on CNY, I can recycle to use for Valentine's Day which comes 2 days after CNY :D

      Sparkling romantic candle-light dinner ♥

    2. Betul, betul, betul. Given water and electricity, I opt for water too.

I get agitated whenever there's no water supply, because I can't even wash the dish. But if there's not electricity I can still take 10x of bath when I feel hot.

The water supply got cut off for an hour yesterday when I returned home. I started to nag unknowingly towards everyone. Poor MM and the kids :p

    5. 98 water crisis was a nightmare to me~ I just entered uni and the first week of orientation was a hellish week! I woke up at 5am with a pail to wait for the water truck. I used that one pail of water to brush my teeth, wash my hair and bath. One bath per day and after a long walk around the campus, I smelled worst than a pig when I returned to my dorm at night!

FYI, that truck came once daily. I can't even do my laundry! And it was my first time leaving home so kinda blur blur and jakun.

      Delete
    6. Cham, how come I din't remember at all the water crisis you guys mentioned? 1998, I was in Form 2, should be big enough to know what is water crisis ma! >.<

      Delete
    7. Hayley, you are too young to understand water crisis in 1998 la! We every had to wait for the truck to bring us water supply in the campus.

I cried buckets until I could use my tear to flush my pee.

speaking if tanki ah...did anyone check your office tanki?

My office was in a 3storey shop office. whole company bought the building. there was one time something wrong with the tanki. call plumber lo. Aiyo...horrifying discovery. there wrte all sorts of skeletons in the tanki. don't know ratsor birds ir what the heck. gosh...and we have be using the water..maybe even fir the coffee bar!!!

Tanki supposed to have cover but duno what happrn to our tanki cover. fly off when windy? Kena curi? Duno la...

    1. Skeleton of animals? Not human one? LOL!

I dare not see what's inside the tangki. Scare I find those not-supposed-to-be-in it and freak out. I'm very phobia to use tangki water for cooking. Tangki water is merely for washing. I even scold my hubb if he asked me to use the tangki water to cook instant noodle during water interruption.

I get geli easily. Just like the other day, I hand-washed my son's uniforms and put them into the washing machine for a spin dry. When I took the clothes out to hang, I discovered a dead lizard in the washing machine!!! Yucks, I re-washed the clothes. Puit, puit~ Stupid lizard, went there to commit suicide.

      Delete
    2. LOL stupid lizard...

of course not human remains la. if human remians sure will read about it in newspaper jor.

Really dont know why that tanki no cover. Think of that already wanna vomit.

Office so we dont know the water the tealady took is from which piap.

I also try not to cook with tanki water. Coz here the tanki water is very muddy. On and off we have to turn off the water then use up all the tanki water to let the mud come out from the tanki.

In cantonese is saying yau sui mou? Indirectly it was asking whether you got money or not?
My MIL place always no water and she always ask me whether my place got water or not..
I replied to her. YES HAVE LOTS OF WATER..

      water represent money as well..
      so no water no money..

    3. Electric is equal to light and energy, water is equal to wealthy. So, both are important on CNY time.

If no electric, i may need to sleep in the car. Sleeping in the car will die one. I read from news.

      Delete
    4. You know in old old house where the water piping is done on the wall (and not inside the wall), you can actually selit a knife in between the pipe and wall.

According to feng shui, the knife must not placed there because it resembles a cut-off to your wealth. Water being the wealth here.

      Delete
    5. Ooo itu macam ah...I didnt know this.

anyway water pipe out side the wall is better. any leakage no need to hack the walls.

      Delete
    6. true, water represents money. So we need plenty of water and it should be moving too.
