    1. Sigh, because there are more selfish ppl to those have hearts for mother earth.

Honestly, I can't live without electricity, but try to minimize the usage. Switch off the electric appliances whenever no use.

    2. honestly, i think many people are just "celebrating" this Earth Hour as an event rather than truly understanding the real purpose behind energy saving.. sigh!! it's not just an event for one hour every year, but a continuous effort!!

  3. Tonight I will be KLCC to witness the event and meet fellow cyclist friends.

    1. hmmm, so instead of switching off the lights, KLCC is having concerts celebrating the event.. i think the power consumption is even higher!!

    1. no lah, if Thambee and Kamala chasing around the park in KLCC in total darkness, people will not see Thambee and Kamala but only seeing four eyes and two sets of teeth flying around in the park~~ :D

  15. Earth hour is over. And I've totally forgotten about it until I read this entry now!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. well, it's never too late to do it anytime you wish.. that one hour doesn't mean anything.. most importantly this practice and habit is applied in your daily routine.. :)

      Delete
  16. Sorry la, not purposely want to forget one, but been busy all day long.
I should remember this yearly event like how I remember valentines day or anniversary.

But they don't fix a dedicated day for earth day, right? The date last year and the year before wasn't on 31st, if I remember correctly.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i think it's a fixed day not fixed date.. should be the last saturday of march every year.. but then, don't wait until that yearly one hour to do that lah, we have to do it whenever we can all day long.. :)

  17. I joined earth hour for the past few years, but seeing my house was the only one in my neighborhood doing so... Kinda demotivated, haha.

None of them is willing to switch off their lights, moreover I was afraid I'll be the target of burglary bcoz the thieves might think nobody at home, so dark.

    1. yalah, very true!! the Earth Hour is just an awareness event lah.. come to think of it, how much can one hour help?? we should do it everyday whenever necessary.. :)

    1. Ya...everyone's gone out to party in the dark! Seems that is what some people understand Earth Hour to be.

It's just to raise awareness...and the bottom line is everyone should do one's bit, no matter how small, to save the Earth every day if we know what's good for us and if we really care.

      Delete
    2. yeah, i think Earth Hour has become too commercialised and everybody is "celebrating" with concerts and party!! so that totally defeated the real purpose behind right?? i really agree with STP, we should do it whenever we can all day long and not just that yearly one hour period..

  19. I know some residents will 'steal' electricity by modifying their meters. They switch on all the lights, air-conditions at full blast and use the electricity because they probably pay as low as rm150 monthly for that huge usage.

    Tsk,tsk.....

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yalah, that's so unfair to the one being stolen right?? so not ethical, i always curse this kind of people very badly..

  20. I think all of us should stay in a forest to help the world. :D

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hahaha, but then that's just not possible lah.. we still need to live as we are, just that we have to apply energy saving awareness and habit in our daily life.. :)

      Delete
  21. My family and I didn't really celebrate this hour. :p In fact I was sleeping earlier.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. well, if you term this as a "celebration" then i don't see the real purpose behind right?? so it's good, you slept earlier, that's the best action you've done to support energy saving.. :)

  27. Yes, the awareness is so important as most of the humans today have lost their sense on energy conservations. They waste everything.
