[Volume 7 Issue 1, #1310]
i was pretty impressed when i saw this mini japanese garden in the midst of two main roads (at Menara Standard Chartered, Jalan Sultan Ismail) in the city center.. frankly, i find the landscaping rather beautiful and a good one to decorate the city.. but practically, how many will come to this mini garden in this bustling place at all?? to feed on the dust?? rather use the space to widen to road, so that the *always* congested traffic can be put at ease, agree or other thoughts??

  2. That is not a practical place to build a mini garden with all the fumes, noise and soot! Got any Koi pond there?

  3. I have seen many landscapes with huge flower pots in a few places. Today the plants have died and the flower pots make got dustbin & ash trays! What an eye sore!

  4. Japanese guests often praised our green environment in KL city as Tokyo city is fully concrete with lesser greens. They pointed out that the areas along Jalan Parlimen is the best and loveliest. Well simple, that's VIP route....who dunno?

    1. But Tokyo is quite green. And they do take care of the trees that lined up on the pavements etc instead of going ala KL and chopping them off in favour of motorists. Right?

  5. Was the above mini Japanese Garden built to attract and impress the Japanese? I think it they need to add a big Mount Fuji and some fake Sakura flowers. Muahahaha!

  6. I think our failing is failure to maintain a project once it's set up. More greenery is good if the place is well taken care of.

    1. Oh! I totally agree with you, HappySurfer!

It's the maintenance after the project is done that is needed and for Malaysians (or anybody else who lives in Malaysia) to behave and not spoil such nice place and litter. I especially hate to see cigarettes butts being tossed in planters and flower pots. :(

  7. These little parks certainly help to brighten up a place... The state authorities and the city councils should work on it. We have nice little parks all over town - they certainly make the town look a lot nicer.

  12. Japanese garden is only nice to have, but wider road is a must have. So, I am a practical person, I will support the 'must have' need to come first.

  13. 整闊條路,等於鼓勵更多人揸車,交通會更加塞架...

    NO!

Trees are great! They have to exist in and around busy roads! They help reduce the CO2 in the air or something like that hehe

    1. I so agree with you, Rad. We need more plants. Small parks are great. More, please!

    2. Told you, SK! Everyone should agree with me!

But count me out when it comes to helping to carry the big trees to the center of town! Ahahaha. I'm here helping you with prays and good wishes ;p

  18. It is sad that whatever patch of land must be in favour of cars and vehicles nowadays.

Sometimes, I feel that even pedestrians have no place in KL. Pavement? Might as well widen road. Or turn it to park cars and bikes illegally.

Ditto for small patch of green like this.

No green place, what will help "suck" the Co2, pray tell. Plants are must have also.

  19. Any greenery is always a welcome sight to all, agree?

  20. 真係難服侍,唔整又畀人話冇環保意識,整咗又畀人話阻街。

  21. 睇嚟观赏多过实际用途,阻街就有份啦!

  27. yeah i think it is kinda inappropriate to have it in the middle of the road...

    ReplyDelete
  28. yeah they should have used the space to widened the road.. to lessen the traffic
