[#1256] die lor, i'm in and unexplainable crave for subway sandwiches recently.. i'm so good that i can remember BMT on mondays, tuna on tuesdays and chicken slice on fridays, and these are especially my favourite "sub of the day".. hence if i happened to pass by, there will be 80% chances that my stomach will be invaded by these (heavenly tasty) sandwiches..
  • actually sandwiches to me are always just some snacks and i never treat them as a proper meal.. i always think sandwiches are just to briefly satisfy my appetite, but very soon later i will feel hungry again and wanted to eat something else.. not that i'm so cheena that i need to have rice for every single meal, but i really cannot explain for the case of sandwiches~~
  • saw from internet that fast food chains in order to suit the local tastes, will come up with some uniquely localized menu in different countries, for example the chicken tikka and chicken tandoori sub in subway india is something i find interesting.. i wonder why our menu is so standard and not exotic at all, given one day they came out with a nasi lemak sub, would you dare give it to try?? hehe~~

    ReplyDelete
  32. I don't mind it once in a while because it is still rice for me too. I think if not for their daily special, business might not be so good. You think?

Nasi lemak sub? That would be like a double-whammy, wor! Two times the carbo! Wahlao LOL

    ReplyDelete
  33. Nasi lemak? Dun dare to try...but i think its at most sambal chilli with chicken~

    ReplyDelete
  39. Suituapui's comment about us being shortchange - I noticed it at almost all international franchised outlet. These people can't bring the same quality food to Malaysia or are they worried their profit might be too little? :(

    ReplyDelete
  40. Coincidentally we had Chicken slice for lunch leh... my girl's choice as usual. I reckon Subway is hell lot healthier thn Nasi Lemak Sub lor, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  41. yay ^^ eat at subway feel so healthy

    ReplyDelete
  42. perhaps a more local variant would be satay or rendang sanwiches hahahah!

i love their bread... but i've oways gone for the half-footer cos it's not really cheap stuff in the first place. can only hv it once in a blue moon. cant afford to have it everytime. haha.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think incorporating local favourites into subway would make it sooooo unhealthy! LOL

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  45. i love subway too!! just love the freshness and our own choice of the bread, fillings and dressings.. ooh, just make me wanna have one for lunch later~~ :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. same here, i think a subway sandwich cannot last long inside my stomach, very soon i will feel hungry again.. hmmm, is this normal?? haha..

    ReplyDelete
  47. oh yeah, i would probably wanna try if they have local favourites.. but not nasi lemak lah, maybe chicken rendang or sambal bilis, sounds nice actually.. :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. @ lina:
hmmm, i really can only take subway sandwich as a snack, but you can have that last for the whole day?? wow, how i wish i could.. hehe, sambal sub, maybe it taste good~~ :)

    @ yvonne:
hey, you should try that, though looks huge but then it's really nice, you choose your own bread, menu, vege and sauce.. hehe, maybe nasi lemak sandwich is something for you since you need to have rice everyday?? hehe.. :D

    ReplyDelete
  49. @ wenn:
oh you just have to try that, some of my friends just love it after their first try already..

    @ Daniel Chiam:
haha, but it has no effect on me because most probably i just treat it as a snack.. oh, maybe worse for me to go on diet~~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  50. @ reanaclaire:
come to KL next time and give it a try.. while it's not actually healthy but it looks and is presumed to be healthy, haha~~ :)

    @ Casendra:

    ReplyDelete
  51. @ dodotrain:
yeah, i like their sandwiches, so yummy.. :)

    @ Danny:
and you can always ask for half the rice but double the sambal!! woot, that sounds nice to me too~~ :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. @ bluedreamer27:
yeah, because it's just so light, so i really think it cannot be a proper meal just for me.. i will treat that as a snack, haha.. i can live without rice but then not just only having a sandwich, i still prefer something hot to go into my stomach, haha.. yeah, you are right, nasi lemak is some kind of rice with chilis, haha, that's why it's just an hypothetical thing, i don't think i'd try that also.. :D

    @ Hayley:
subway burgers?? do they have any?? anyway i only limit myself to their sub of the day as they are cheaper.. haha!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. @ mNhL:
haha, i think a sandwich is just too little for many guys.. have your hubby tried the foot-long one, maybe that's enough, haha.. yeah, i like it, it's delicious~~

    @ Bananazஇ:
haha, for this that's not accidentally put intentionally and purposeFULLy, haha!! yeah, they are pricey, that's why i only go for the cheaper sub of the day..

    ReplyDelete
  54. @ Small Kucing:
i think the crave is just temporary, maybe soon i'll not be crazy about it anymore, haha..

    @ suituapui:
errr, yes, that's just what i got from subway.. it's Italian BMT, strange you are not able to get that, it's a standard menu.. or did you went into some pirated subway?? haha.. yeah, we are always shortchanged over here, because people here don't usually complain..

    ReplyDelete

    @ Medie007:
oh, really?? i've not been to the curve for a long time.. so 3 Starbucks, 3 McDonanld's and 2 Subway?? so that's good, meaning there's market at this place..

    ReplyDelete
  56. @ Kian Fai:
it's actually very costly to have to spend more than RM10 for a sandwich, that's why i only go for the cheaper sub of the way.. err, looks bulky but then actually you don't feel anything after it goes into your stomach lah.. so you prefer Carl's Junior more huh??

    @ Yee Ling:
hahahaha!! i like that!! so subway will be the appetizer or the dessert?? LOL :D

    ReplyDelete
  57. @ Sheoh Yan:
oh, since you can live with bread and no rice, maybe you will love subway.. everything's made fresh in front of you, you choose your own bread, menu, vege and sauce.. :)

    @ iamthewitch:
actually it's not that it can't fill up my tummy, just that it's not long lasting enough for me.. can get hungry very soon.. never tried the foot long, as that's too much already, very "jelak" to have one whole foot long leh..

    ReplyDelete
  58. @ HappySurfer:
oh yeah, the sandwich is too pricey, and i only can afford the cheaper sub of the way.. i guess you are right, most of their business relies on the daily special.. oh, i thot you'd love the nasi lemak sub, since there's rice in it!! hahaha~~ :D

    @ Kelvin:
yeah, i think not possible for a nasi lemak sub.. maybe just sambal bilis or chicken rendang sub.. but hey, that sounds good too right??

    ReplyDelete
  59. @ Pete:
haha, sorry you are wrong this time.. it's 6 months pregnancy here, hahahaha!! :D

    @ Isaac Tan:
wow, craving for a subway during midnight?? i doubt they are open for you, maybe you can just consider ramlee burger at this hour~~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  60. @ khengsiong:

    @ lina:
yes, i do agree with that too.. most probably because people here just take it as it is and never both to complain about the quality of the food.. take for example, when your burger is cold, you can actually ask for a change.. but over here, people will just frown but still finish the whole thing.. and furthermore i doubt if we complain and ask for an exchange, they will ever entertain us.. hey, mind you, the profit is low?? i really don't think so.. pricey with cheap materials and labour leh~~

    ReplyDelete
  61. @ Alice Law:
haha, actually i had the chicken slice sandwich on friday too.. haha!! that's what i usually go for, cheaper for the sub of the day mah.. oh of course compared to nasi lemak, the sandwich is better.. :)

    @ Florence:
haha, you are right.. maybe not feeling too full is feeling healthier?? LOL :D

    ReplyDelete
  62. @ kyh:
yes i actually think it's not possible for a nasi lemak sub.. what may be more viable is sambal bilis, chicken rendang and satay.. oh, i most of the time will go for the parmesan oregano, just nice!! yeah, the sandwich is quite pricey, so i always just go for the 6" sub of the day only..

    @ lina:
hmmm, it depends how you are gonna prepare it lah.. maybe a chicken rendang or chicken satay will be nice?? or maybe that's why we don't have local favorites here?? that's a good point lina, hahaha :D

    ReplyDelete
  63. @ bluecloud:

    @ victor:
haha, yeah, same here, or maybe it's very normal for guys that one sandwich is never enough yeah?? but i cannot have foot long cos it's too much, and also expensive i cannot afford lah, hehehe.. hmmm, chicken rendang sub would sound nice to me too, maybe we can suggest to subway~~ :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Subway's my favourite! I don want Tandoori or whatever lah.. i'm still the classic tuna fan! Me fish eater :D

    ReplyDelete
  72. i think iw ant to go on their normal days without promo and order double for b.m.t. hehe

    ReplyDelete
  73. i love their italian bread.. it is absolutely yummy~ soft on the inside,, crispy on the outside.. yumy~

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  75. @ Merryn:
oh, you are kapal selam sure like fish more than chicken, haha!! remember, Tuesday is Tuna day, go for it tomorrow~~ :)

    @ Casendra:

    @ foongpc:
yeah, of course it's more healthy than McD and BK.. i just love the freshness of the bread and the vege, so yummy!! of course i can only afford sub of the day, those normal menu are above RM10 and i think they are kind of pricey.. errrr, nope, i never go for the foot long, it's too much for me though i think half-foot is not enough but still i won't over do lah..

    ReplyDelete
  76. @ ladyviral:
wow, only $5.90 you can get a meal already?? that's cheap, i mean for singaporeans and of course not after converted to RM.. here, all sandwiches are above RM10, and to make a meal you add RM4.50, which is a bit too pricey.. that's why i only go for the sub of the day at RM7.50, that's all i can afford.. one whole month eating subway?? wow, sure my pocket burns a huge hole already.. double BMT?? wow, you sure you can finish that?? my favorite is actually parmesan oregano leh, very nice~~ :)

    @ edward:
所以最多都係食sub of the day咋.. 其實我覺得冇sub of the way嘅話, 佢哋生意都好難維持囉..

    ReplyDelete
  77. I love Subway sandwiches very much! They have the best deli range!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I can eat Subway sandwiches everyday for 3 meals! No need rice! Thambee so Chindian la must eat nasi!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Their bread is so nice and unique in many flavours!

    ReplyDelete
  80. I admit that they are not a cheap thing to eat here in Malaysia.

    ReplyDelete
  81. So it is better to eat them in Singapore or US where it costs under USD5 only.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I prefer they don't sell Nasi Lemak Sub. It will loose its original taste.

    ReplyDelete
  83. The Malaysian flavour seems to invade into foreign food these days!

    ReplyDelete
  84. The other night I had dinner at a Korean restaurant and saw our spicy ikan bilis as their starter food variations! OMG!

    ReplyDelete
  85. When I went to Seoul, I asked my tour guide why they didn't serve similar starter small bites like in KL. She told me that we have gone nuts and Korean chefs had to modify to suit our taste. Yeeeeee!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Malaysia being a multi racial country and our tastes are too strong and spicy, so that is how revolution starts!
