that would be scary for me..
ReplyDeletemaintenance culture is not a big deal in Malaysia, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteWe may build the tallest, biggest, most advanced but it's state will probably deteriorate in just a few years.
ReplyDeleteI myself thank my lucky stars I don't need to use LRT daily anymore.
ReplyDeleteExplosion? Eeeek! So scary. Lucky nothing bad happened.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree, LRT, Komuters, buses seems to have an endless problem with technical difficulties. Any problem, just informed passengers they have technical problem.
omg, where did this happen? which stop? >< Janice uses the lrt to work daily, they really should do better maintenance of the trains.
ReplyDeleteLucky not that kind of explosion in Empire Shopping Gallery.
ReplyDeletewell, first of all, good thing that you are safe and so as the rest of the passengers...
ReplyDeleteI think the best way to deal with this kind of scenario is not to panic and be alert. We cannot predict or tell what will happen in the future... accident may occur in your most unexpected time and place so you have to be aware of it
ReplyDeleteYou know what, since I am quite far from the city (Manila), I was able to ride on a LRT twice only...
ReplyDeleteI agree, regular maintenance should be implied knowing that this kind of vehicle carries a huge amount of passengers...
ReplyDeletethe "look-like-just-woke-up firemen" is so similar to our Policemen here... they will come very late in the crime scene which makes them useless... errr I'm not sure if you have read or watch on TV ,about the Hostage taking of those Hongkong nationals ... I am really upset with the action done by the policemen..
ReplyDeleteoh by the way.. regarding about the prize... no i haven't received it yet.. maybe this coming Monday.. woohoo so excited... thanks agaain and happy blogging
ReplyDeleteMany people respond very slowly to emergency. I was at a shopping complex when there was a fire evacuation anouncement. All these ignorant people still shopping away like nothing happened. I took my family out of there as fast as I could!
ReplyDeleteNothing will be really done unless there is casualties...
ReplyDelete@Kelvin and if got casualties the relevant people will say "we will set up a committee to investigate..."
ReplyDeleteOnly in Malaysia... Big hoo-haa when disaster strikes...only to be forgotten after a while. Sad, real sad... Tragic!
ReplyDelete"paaakkk"? Not the tyre bursting?
ReplyDeleteoh wait, silly me. Trains don't run on tyres, kekekeke!
ReplyDeleteMalaysian is always in the "tak-apa" mood, hence the service is not unexpectedly bad. 15 mins is too long.. the whole station might be burned down with a few minutes if major accident really happened.
ReplyDeleteWith minimal maintenance, technical problems occur here and there, tsk tsk!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have LRT or commuter in my town here. Less one type of accident :p
wah.... drama! haha... so far during my time I only experienced the train to break down but not explosion.
ReplyDeleteThe fireman sees nothing serious so they walk slowly la. haha....
hmmm..
ReplyDeletehere, we have jeepney for transportation :)
Oh my! Explosion?? So scary.. luckily you were all at the station.. imagine if it happened midway while you're in the middle of the tracks in the air.. how to evacuate?? :O Glad that you're ok!
ReplyDeleteWah, sounds scary and dangerous! Luckily everybody was ok!
ReplyDeleteSo, did you walk home or waited for the next train? Or went jalan-jalan at the new mall or perhaps took in a movie?
ReplyDeleteGlad no one was hurt. Did you later know what happened?
Delay
ReplyDeletehaha this experience just shows us how typical we malaysians are
ReplyDeletenew post; Tee IP
if happen to me, I will slow response also . . . no awareness at all due to Malaysia too peaceful on surface lol!
ReplyDeletebut still, it wont stop me to take LRT, because LRT speed is 1000times more better than KTM! KTM speed like snail and waste of time, take 1 hour from Subang to KL Sentral to Midvalley.
ReplyDeleteFrom Kelana LRT to KLCC it only take less than 1 hour . . .
LRT may reminds me of lots of memory XD
ReplyDeletetake train go to KLCC to watch screening with friends
and take train go to elsewhere or make a funky trip with only by using LRT station! GG hehe
wah... got fire ah?
ReplyDeleteIf anything happened, I fast fast cabut 1st... kiasi mommy!:p
ReplyDeletewah... this is scary! imagine if it is a big one... *shudder*
ReplyDeleteNowadays the LRT has been having a lot of probs as well. Always delay and auto-pilot gone haywire and stuffs causing me get to work late
ReplyDelete<a href='http://colourlessopinions.blogspot.com/2011/10/troll-hunter-trolljegeren-nor.html> Troll Hunter movie review</a>
but too bad i aint got no choice cause the damn parking in KL is freakin expensive!
ReplyDeleteTroll Hunter movie review
ReplyDeletekonnichiwa! dropping by =)
ReplyDeleteso scary! Reading your post had remind me the recent incident happened to Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang Jaya.
ReplyDeleteWow! So scary? Glad I am not taking LRT regularly!
ReplyDeleteLuckily it didn't happen halfway where you all would be dangling halfway between two stations!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they do maintenance too. You know lah, Malaysians are not too strict on maintenance.
ReplyDeleteThat bad? The firemen looked like they just woke up?! Haha!!
ReplyDelete0h my... that is dangerous. what if the cabin were to catch fire? :(
ReplyDeletethe rapidKL techs should really take a careful look into this matter. this isn't any joking matter.
ReplyDeletethe sad part is, will they do it? do they really maintain the trains? lets hope they earn enough of our money to do the right thing.
ReplyDeletefire brigade arrived so late? if there was a fire, there wouldn't be anything more for them so save -_-;;
ReplyDelete@ wenn:
ReplyDeleteactually i was playing games and didn't know when i heard the chaos, haha~~
@ lina:
ReplyDeleteyes, i agree with you.. we only want to build the tallest, the biggest, the newest things.. but never have thought of maintenance and preserving them.. old already then replace with new ones lor, that's the philosophy!! aiks, luckily we were at the station and the train doors were still open when the engine exploded, so when somebody shouted and i was just by the door, quickly ran out, haha!! yalor, they never tell the passengers what happened, but just PA the pre-recorded technical problem announcement!! that's very bad right??
@ Isaac Tan:
it happened at the Sri Rampai station.. but luckily just minor one, and somemore the train was still at the station with the doors open, so we can run out immediately..
@ Bananazஇ:
ReplyDeletewah, if it was that kind of explosion in Empire Shopping Gallery, then i guess i may not be here to blog already~~ :p
@ bluedreamer27:
yes, it's just very lucky that the train was still at the station and the doors were still open when the engine exploded.. i was actually playing games there and didn't even realised until somebody shouted "run!!" and i was standing by the door, so very quickly and conveniently i just get out of the train, though i was still confused of what actually happened until i saw smoke coming out from the middle coaches of the train.. yeah, i do agree with you, because Malaysia is quite lucky to have been protected from major natural disasters, so people here are really not that sensitive to critical situations.. guess we really have to learn to be more alert to disasters, rather than to be more alert to the gossips, hahaha!! and that say our maintenance is not done properly, and not a surprise the management here never put maintenance at first priority.. haha, and those policemen are just the same as the firemen, haiz, really wonder how they are going to me more competent??
@ Pete:
ReplyDeleteyes, that was what i meant exactly.. maybe we were too pampered with no major natural disasters, that is why people are so insensitive to emergency.. even during a fire evacuation, you can still see people chatting happily while strolling lazily..
@ edward:
@ Kelvin:
ReplyDeletebut that will be too late already.. just the very malaysian spirit huh?? haiz~~
@ Small Kucing:
yes, and it will take like forever to investiage.. and things are normally close case because people have already forgotten about that incident already..
@ suituapui:
ReplyDeleteoh yes, that's exactly what i meant in the comment reply to Small Kucing above.. i guess we are all too forgetful, many things are just left behind after a short while.. sad huh??
@ yvonne:
hahaha, trains where got tyres?? it was the engine that has exploded giving out that loud noise.. yeah, i think maybe that was not a disastrous accident, so that's why the firemen came late and acted like none of their business but just to do some formal procedural investigation only.. haiz, i really think they just put maintenance behind and never really seriously look into this matter.. all trains should be checked and maintained every night to ensure they are functioning well..
@ mNhL:
ReplyDeletethat was also my very first time, last time maybe the bus engine broke down but explosion is really my first time.. so sad to say this but those firemen really were not serious at all..
@ Mai Yang:
haha, good, and i think at least jeepney will not explode and cause disastrous accidents right?? :)
@ iamthewitch:
ReplyDeleteyes, luckily it was just a very minor explosion, and that the train was still at the station and the doors still opened.. and i was standing just by the door so i can quickly leave the train when i heard somebody shouted "keluar keluar"..
@ Hayley:
yes, i was quite scary but luckily it was just a minor one and nobody was hurt..
@ khengsiong:
@ toninkush:
haha, very true!! really see the "tak apa" spirit with us, though we may seem very calm, how sad we are not even sensitive to emergencies right??
@ Kian Fai:
ReplyDeletei think it's common to most malaysians since we are all blessed with no major natural disastrous.. haha, accidents always happen and we cannot expect that, i still take LRT as it's just so convenient for me to get around the places i usually go.. haiyoh, of course the LRT is way better than the KTM lah, i've heard one day at the KTM station that they announced the train is delay because there's "kebakaran di stesen kajang"!! hilarious or not?? haha, looks like you are the LRT supporter huh, i've been taking LRT for many years too since it stated operations..
@ Medie007:
errr, i don't know because i left the train immediately and can only see smoke coming out from the middle coach..
@ Alice Law:
ReplyDeletehaha, of course under such situation it's better for us to be kiasi lor.. but actually i was playing games that time and didn't really know what happen, haha!!
@ bluecloud:
@ Merryn:
ReplyDeletea bit scary lah, but if it was a big one, yours truly may not have probably sitting down here writing this post already~~ :p
@ toninkush:
ReplyDeleteoh yes, the more they are in operations we see more problems.. the major reason i can see is they are not doing comprehensive maintenance on the trains and the tracks at all.. the philosophy is: just replace old ones with new ones, and we are good again.. so there goes our money too!! so you are taking LRT too??
@ Mai Yang:
ReplyDeletekonnichiwa, thanks for dropping by again, haha~~
@ Wai Kitt:
oh, lucky that LRT explosion was just a very minor one.. and the train was still at station so we can just leave the train immediately..
@ foongpc:
ReplyDeletehaha, explosions can happen anywhere lah, so you don't have to feel lucky, hahaha!! yes, that's true, luckily the train was at station and the doors were still open.. and i was standing just by the door, though i was so focused on my phone and didn't really know what happened, i just walk out immediately when i heard somebody shout.. hmmm, most probably once a month while they should have perform maintenance on every train every night?? haha, firemen, as always, look like they have just woke up from their nap~~ :D
@ ladyviral:
luckily it was just a minor explosion, i didn't know if there was a fire.. cos i just ran out when i heard people shouting and all i could see was just white smoke coming out from the cabin.. hmmm, white smoke means nothing burnt right?? yeah, that's very serious and the tech should really seriously look into maintenance.. but sadly you know, malaysians really rarely do maintenance.. haiz!! well, as for the firemen maybe they already knew there was nothing much to save, that's why they came in so late and sluggishly.. :D
ReplyDeletewow, this is really scary!! but luckily it was just a minor engine explosion..
ReplyDeletei somehow agree with you on malaysians' attitude, maybe we are too blessed with no major natural disasters, that's why we are less sensitive to emergency, but always curious to find out what happened first!! haha~~
ReplyDeletevery true!! i think they have not even have any maintenance so far (perhaps just by telling that they are), such engine explosion is very serious and i don't think it will happen if there is regular proper maintenance..
@ victor:
yeah, luckily it was just a very minor engine explosion and breakdown and no injuries.. well, i really don't think they have done maintenance to the trains, or else it won't exploded right?? wow, thinking back that incident, still feeling a little scary actually..
