| 大家偶然都會去快餐店解決兩餐架啦, 相信食快餐都唔應該有咩expectation嘅, 求其食得飽就得啦.. 不過有時真係爭唔落喎, 啲員工求其到呢, 可以(秉持「供視像用途」呢個原則)整個漢堡包整到完全走晒樣, 同廣告上嗰隻漢堡包完全match唔到囉.. 唔係話我挑剔, 之不過見到一劈嘢咁, 胃口點都欠佳啦係嘛?? 不過既然係快餐店就算喇, 畀著係高檔少少嘅食肆, 我唔唱通街都肯定將佢列入黑名單囉.. |

| i believe everyone occasionally goes for fast food to settle a meal or two, and i guess we should not have much expectation on fast food other than to get our stomach filled up.. but many times the workers are so casual (thanks to the term for illustration purpose only as a strong excuse) that the burgers they prepared can be so out of form till we hardly find similarity to match with those featured on the advertisement.. i'm not trying to be fussy but when you see one "smash" of burger in front of you, will that turn appetising to you at all?? well, no complaints since this is fast food, but given slightly established eateries, if not criticising them everywhere i could then i will for sure put them in my blacklist.. |

ReplyDeleteI once witnessed an Arab guy "demanding" a dish to look exactly like the ones featured in the menu. The look the staff had was priceless.
The reson why they don't get enough time to make the burgers more appealing as what they are supposed to look is that they are following a what so-called Average time limit... not complying with that rules will give them bad marks hehehe...(just basing it on my experience)

SK, I so agree with you. It never used to be like that. Maybe the public need to raise hell with them so that they maintain the standard.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a filet a few months ago and was truly disappointed that the filet has shrunk and there was only half a slice of cheese when it used to be a full piece! For the price increase, I'd say they are shortchanging the customer.

Yup. Even at other restaurants...and not just in the ads and the menu or photo displays at the place.
ReplyDeleteYou see in blogs all those alluring photos taken using those hi-tech equipment...and when you actually go there, you find that it does not look that nice...and at times, it does taste as nice as some of them claim either. But of course, the taste is very subjective - what I like, others may not...and vice versa.
hahha 每当我看着麦当劳的海报时，我就会很气。所谓 "the above picture is for illustration purposes only" 真的是这样而已。那个鱼汉堡在海报是金黄色的，真真正正吃的时候就像路边的炸黑色的咸煎饼哈哈哈

ReplyDeleteOf course, the ones in the ads were meticulously prepared and after the photoshoots were done, the pictures were again paintbrushed to create a better and more attractive effect.

yeah, i think you've made a point there, the fast food service crew will have certain KPI, and time is of course the main factor to measure that.. well, i'm not particular about the fast food chain but on more established restaurants.. so you've worked in a kitchen before and i guess you sure have seen a lot of the darker side.. :p

yeah, of course the photos are always being touched up and can be very deceiving.. nobody will ever advertise a badly presented dish of food right?? hmmm, those blogs i sometimes suspect are being paid to give unfrank comments, but likewise you said, taste is very subjective so there is also no right and wrong though..

ReplyDeleteoh yeah, the burgers size are getting smaller, the patties are thinner and even the cheese in a filet-o-fish is only half a piece, that is what we are having now.. yeah, the McFlurry is so small now but selling at a price more expensive, i've since then new had that already, i only have the sundae cone which is yet at RM1 and still taste so yummy, haha.. definitely all restaurants have the menu which look a lot nicer than the food they prepare, guess we have to get used to this due to the "for illustration purpose" term?? well, this is malaysia and i wonder if our complaints will be entertained?? well, presentation only right, as long as the food taste ok then i'm fine with it..
