i guess nowadays there is rarely anyone who doesn't own a handphone.. i still remember back in my kids time when we don't even have a phone at home, we will always need to borrow from the neighbours, or even purposely cycle to the street for the public phone.. i wonder if we can survive like that nowadays??

but then, i'm really not someone who likes to chit-chat over the phone.. maybe it's because i'm not good in that, i can type long story in my blog or even send one long paragraph to you in MSN, but when it comes to talking over the phone, i'm like a balloon loosing its air.. most of the time i go short and sweet, and hence gives the other end an impression that i'm not interested to talk any longer.. actually no, it's really not the case, if you know me well enough then you'd know it's not the case..

by the way, i always wonder since it's such a hassle talking over the phone, why not just meet up to have a good catch-up over a cup or tea?? :p

  1. I cannot understand what was the big deal with Iphone 4 that people were willing to endure long queues just to get their hands on that phone.

I am not crazy about the latest handphone gadgets. I am more crazy about lenses :)

  2. Yeah! I can remember that too bro. I used to cycle to the public phone booth to make a call. :/

    ReplyDelete
  45. Korea has more mobile phones than their entire population, as reported by their news. Silly!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

  53. well we really cant deny the fact that phones are the most convenient and fastest way of communication to those in distance
but yet there's nothing more especial on having them beside you even for just a short talk

    ReplyDelete
  54. I used to make calls only

    ReplyDelete

    @ smallkucing:
errr, i use it mostly to receive calls from people.. and of course i use more SMS than making outgoing calls lah.. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. @ Mei Teng:
well, it's like a trend that everyone must have a Smart Phone with them now.. but i still think iPhone is selling expensive here, but people are just crazy about it.. haha, but i think your damage is more on investing lenses right?? :D

    @ Tekkaus:
yeah, kids now even carry phones more expensive than the one i'm carrying!! haha, i still remember we use to pay 30sen to the neighbour for making a call, if we are too lazy to purposely cycle to the public phone out there.. you want to meet up?? err, but you are in Malacca lah, how to meet up?? :D

    @ edward:

    ReplyDelete

    @ reanaclaire:
haha, of course if can meet up is better lor.. or else phone will be the best communication tools for those apart lah.. hmmm, i really don't like to "boil porridge" actually, because i feel it's something very tiring, especially over handphone, the radiation will make me headache if talk too long..

    ReplyDelete
  65. @ CH Voon:
yalor, i actually will feel headache if talk too long over handphone one, maybe it's the radiation lor.. so i'd rather use other mode of communcations, eg: MSN, haha!! eih, i have met up with other bloggers ah, but not a lot lah, a few only.. never talked over the phone until we met, so just use emails or sms to plan the meet up first lot..

    @ -KeO-:

    ReplyDelete
  66. @ Chris Chia:

    @ foongpc:
haha, yeah.. but sometimes i prefer talk than SMS, because SMS might be inefficient and you'll ding dong ding dong for a long time.. anyway, meet up is the best yeah?? haha..

    ReplyDelete
  67. @ fufu:
of course texting or calling will be more efficient depending on what kind of situation.. sometimes if after few SMS still there's no decision, i'll just pick up the phone and make the call, just get things settled over the phone, it's easier than having to type unnecessary SMS, right??? haha, but i just cannot leave my handphone at home now leh, feel quite unsecure, because many people will be calling me~~ :p

    @ wkw:

    ReplyDelete
  68. @ bluedreamer27:
haha, my first phone is when i started working in 2000!! that's quite a late handphone yeah?? haha.. now i guess kids already carrying one with them, and most probably more expensive than ours, haha!! yeah, i'm not really into chit chat, but if there's things that need to be or better to be settled over the phone, then only i'll do that.. else maybe i'll just send messages.. :)

    @ suituapui:
what?? calling to kuching RM9.60 a minute and need to go through operator?? hmmm, how many years back was that?? i don't think we have operators now right?? everywhere in the world, you're able to dial direct already now..

    ReplyDelete
  69. @ Donna:
actually i also very late only have my first handphone leh.. it was back in 2000 when i started to work.. last time still not so common lah, but then nowadays, if don't carry handphone with me it's like missing something one lor.. actually handphone is necessary right now lah, people want to find you or for emergency mah.. your colleague very funny lor, still so resistant to own a handphone?? really very conservative thinking woh.. eih, so when the colleague finally bought a handphone, you all got ask why or not?? haha..

    @ Donna:
actually hor, i think talking too long over the phone is not good leh.. many times after long chat, i will feel headache one, i think it's because of the radiation lor.. not good for health one leh, and the ears actually feel tired and the heat.. but then only if the person is super talkative lah, because i normally very short and sweet over the phone one mah, not like over MSN or email or SMS i can type long winded message one.. oh, is it?? it's Maxis problem ah?? sometimes i talking to friends horrr, then suddenly the line will get cut off one woh.. i thot what happened, thot my friend just hang up like that so rude.. but i think it's Digi lah, because my friend using Digi and say always no line so half way talking will get cut off one..

    ReplyDelete
  70. @ khengsiong:

    @ wenn:
of course face to face is better, because you can see the expression and feel the tones of the person.. whereas over the phone, sometimes there will be misunderstanding..

    ReplyDelete
  71. @ justin.net:
hehehe, no problem.. buying you a drink only mah, not buying you a phone~~ :D

    @ Twilight:
haha, Arumugam you know me so well.. of course, i love to dance and sing and run around the bushes in front of the camera as if i'm making a bollywood MV mah.. so talking over the phone really is not my cup of tea, wakakakakaka!! yeah, i actually find a bit headache after talking long over the phone, especially the ears will feel heated up, must be the radiation from the phone lor.. and how dare you to have forgotten your mother tongue?? "Hello" in Tamil is "Vanakam" my dear Arumugam~~ :p

    ReplyDelete
  72. @ nons:

    ReplyDelete
  73. @ JC:

    @ poorprince:
yeah, because we have been so dependent on the technology now, given that we are going back to basic, for sure we cannot get used to it.. and of course, i can say many cannot survive without a handphone, though we may not be using the phone for one whole day.. just feel like something missing if we left the phone at home yeah?? hahaha.. and yes, i gotta agree with you that, handphones are one of the greatest inventions of mankind..

    ReplyDelete
  74. @ Pete:
wow, i think i use to SMS and receive calls more than i make calls lor..

    @ iamthewitch:
yeah, if can meetup then of course it'll be better to chat over a cup of tea or have a meal together.. as for those forever busy friends, i guess occassionally a call or an sms will be good enough, agree?? :)

    ReplyDelete
  75. @ Bengbeng:
haha, actually not to save rush to save money, but really i won't have too much to talk over the phone.. i always keep things short and sweet~~ :p

    @ mNhL:
hmmm, older people are like that lah.. my dad also doesn't carry a handphone with him, he won't know how to use, haha!! :p

haiyah, of course she needs to spam in order to keep her first place in the commenter list mah.. haha!! :D actually good also lah, company give you chance to go to those unpopular places, those popular ones you can go on yourself mah.. maybe you are more strong, so send you to those unpopular ones to solve problems lor, hehe~~ :D

  87. yeah, i also don't like to talk too long over the phone.. cos the ear will feel the heat, and if over mobile phone, the radiation could be very harmful..

    @ victor:
oh yeah, talking too long over the mobile phone is definitely not good for health.. it's the heat and the radiation that sometimes make me feel headache.. not good not good.. you are right, sometimes i just make a call to get things confirmed rather than ding-dong with emails or SMS.. :)
